Is it worth buying an Imate Jasjam with Windows mobile 5
if yes then how much is max payable.
It's a nice device, however are you looking to buy a new one or a used one?
Yes, the JASJAM is in fact nicer than the HTC TyTN. The JASJAM has a transflective display while the latest TyTN's on sale here in Oman have transmissive displays. Only after buying a TyTN did I realise why the JASJAM is a little more expensive.
Imate JasJam
buying a used one , is it worth for price 190US$ . And i need to know if anyone successfully upgraded it to Windows Mobile 6. i read most posts but no one explicitly said upgraded imate.

http://europe.htc.com/
You will also see a new 3g device : http://europe.htc.com/products/tytn.php
The HTC TyTN AKA Hermes.... my mates had this on test for quite a few months, apparently Voadfone will be having this device soon as there new 3g one...
Anyhow... lots of new info to keep you lot happy.....
happy world cup!
I only hope this won't be the end of i-Mate.
Qtek and i-Mate were the only manufactures to deliver these devices besides telco providers.
Now that HTC takes over Qtek, they can rule the market, and push i-Mate in a corner.
I'm afraid that it won't be a fair competition.
i've been told the hermes (v1605) will be shipped by Vodafone UK from 10th July.

HTC didn't take over Qtek; Qtek has always been HTC's own brand! Same with Dopod which HTC has aquired recently.
Can somebody please tell me if they have bought one of these phones in ENGLAND (ONLY INTERESTED IN ENGLAND). A simple answer of Yes, contact details of where the phone was bought and the cost of the phone AND/OR contract details.
HTC TYTN
QTEK 9600
IMATE JASJAM
ORANGE SPV M3100
XDA TRION
T MOBILE MDA VARIO II
DOPOD CHT 9000
XDA XION
VODAFONE V1605

Yes.
Several people have bought the Voda version (from the Voda shop in Watford) I believe.
Personally, I will wait for either the Orange or T-Mobile version (they will look different - better IMO - to the Voda version and will also have a better data package).

Hey all,
Don't know if anyone would be interested in knowing this bit of info, but this week I upgraded from an o2 mini s (wizard) to an o2 Stellar (TYTN II) and was a bit dissapointed that it was still running WM6. However, I contacted O2 xda tech services to ask about an upgrade to WM6.1, and they let me know that a WM6.1 ROM is being worked on now and should be available this month.

Hey guys,
I have watched and read this forum for about 3 years, upgrading and modding my Cingular 2125 as things changed. I have ran into a bit of a problem with my phone recently and I am debating buying a new lcd and battery or just buying a "new" phone. And by new, I mean another of the same, I love this phone too much to upgrade to a new model. So my question is: I am on the Cingular/ATT network here in the U.S. and like I said, I have the Cingular 2125(Faraday). I was wondering if, in order for it to work on the same network, do I have to buy another 2125 or can I possibly buy a Tornado and thus get the WiFi? Do they all take Sim cards in the same manner? I have searched for this question but couldnt find a clear-cut answer.
Thanks in advance.
Buy a Tornado and unlock it using the unlocking software provided in this forum. Easy as pie and you'll have wifi. Also once unlocked, you'll be able to use the same sim card as you're using now.
Get a Tornado off of eBay. Search of an iMate SP5, a Qtek 8310/8300, or a Dopod (I forget the model). Qtek and Dopod are HTC's old brand names. I bought the Qtek 8310 for like $400 new several years ago. It was an awesome phone, so I understand your interest in keeping it. Both the iMate and the Qtek variations come unlocked and without any carrier bloatware. They will also work perfectly with Cingular/ATT (I know from experience).
As an aside, as much as I loved the Tornado, I don't regret upgrading to my current WM Professional phone, an HTC Touch Cruise, at all...just something to keep in mind if you don't mind spending a bit more.
Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. Bought a new battery for mine which helped fix the power problem and the screen is a bit blurry in spots but usable, but if it gets too bad I will look for one of these other tornados that you suggested.
I recently received a G3B0 Thumbpad advertised to work with o2 XDA II and iMate.
Unfortunately it looks like the product is for the original o2 XDA (although the product still fits in the USB slot).
Are they any drivers that will work with my imate (which has stock WM2003 fw)?
This is the auction I got it from (which clearly advertises its for XDAII and iMate):

EDIT: I am actually considering updating my PPC's ROM.
I was wondering if there were any WM5 or WM6 drivers.
