Good News[solved] - Missing Calls (and Fixed Signal Strength, Display Auto - On)

Hey Guys
Millions of WM users have been plagues by this issue all around the world
Missing Calls: Someone calls you, they hear the ring, but you don't get any notification, not even a missed call
Plus two side issues:
1) Display turns on by itself many times
2) For many ROMs, the signal strength indicator remains fixed at whatever signal it got at boot time.

thx for discovering, but i need active sync additionally i use a scheduled sync, sometimes even push email. I guess therefore your trick doesnt work out?

what radio are the USA at&t customers using?? i cant seem to get my gps to work correctly. plus the overall radio performance isnt as good as it was. love the new rom, just need to try a different radio.

Dude, you're turning into the king of redundant threads. There are about a dozen radio threads, so why post a new one, why???
There are only about 4 or 5 radios that will work with 6.1 & EACH WILL PERFORM DIFFERENTLY DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU ARE AT AS WELL AS OTHER FACTORS. If you want the best for you , then try them.

i cant get my GPS to work with any of these radios.
i get an error message from GPS Tool that says: "Port not yet Opened!"
i searched the error message and really came up with nothing

so use gpstest. or u could open the port.

I like 1.58.25.14 and my GPS works great. I had my GPS stop working a while ago and I had to do a hard reset and reflash before it came back. Try google maps .cab and set it to COM4 and 57600 and see if that helps.

So, when you run GPS Tool, you get to the Settings tab screen. The COM Port should read COM4:, set the Baudrate to 4800. Then tap on the OPEN button. That should do it for you. You should then see info going by in the log area in the bottom half of the screen.
If not, let me know what's happening for you.

by tapping the "open" button. set the baud rate to 4800 and use com4

Use GPS tool.
Try this
Have Google Maps running.
click the GPS
Open QuickGPS. It should be able to get a GPS lock in about 10-20 seconds. Works for me anyways.

(FIXED) Weird GSM problem?! (+VIDEO)

Hi there,
I have a very strange problem for a few days now.
When starting the phone, it asks for my PIN -> phone starts, establishes connection, works fine (full signal strength)...
Now the problem:
When I hang up a call I made or I recieved, it shows on the display that my signal strength is gone and says "no service", the icon with the "!"...
But, and that is the fact, it has still signal, because I can start a new call or even can recieve one! After some time the no service icon disappears and everthing is back to normal.
When I hang up again, the problem starts again...
What could that be? And how can I change it...

For those who might not understand what I meant... I attached a video...
Just look at the topbar icon with signal strength when I did a call...
After some time signal meter comes back.
P.S.:
Tried it with another SIM card and the same problem occures!
So it is definitly a device specific problem!

I have seen somewhere same problem described... but not sure it was in Polaris thread...

What must I do to read out which ROM I'm using?
It's the default. There are only a few files replaced...

Ah, I found it... are you using S2U2 maybe?
It seems like lot of people using S2U2 ver 2.0x are having same or simillar problem.
I'm using 2.00 and I don't have that problem...

Yes, I'm using the latest build of S2U2. And as you say it, the time I first noticed the bug, could match the update point of S2U2.

[Q] Built-in Messenger

I was Using the built-in Msn/facebook messenger function in the Mango built 7.10.7712.60 and came here to share some thought and wonder if i am the only one facing this issue or is there anyone else
Sometimes i get messages with delays .. the scenario is like this :
i am chatting with someone then a sudden silence breaks in .. after a while i write a something and hit send and BOOM i get like 3-4 messages that i didn't recieve on time.. it happened to me several times
did it happen to anyone else or just me ?

Go to wifi. Try it.
No delays. Blame your internet.
Just happens with my 3G/2G internet.

It happens to me all the time. What is annoying, though, is getting a toast notification for _every_ message, even when you are in the thread. I wouldn't mind the many toasts while I am not in the thread, but good grief, when I am watching all the messages come in, I don't need a notification for every one.

I am still unable to see my contacts online or to have them integrated with their actual contact information. I can chat with them if they message me first though. And they always show up as their email address. Has anyone figured that out yet?

Eh, I'm sure everything will work great when the final release comes out. My phone has done some things that don't happen on demo videos or it won't do things that demo phones do. It's what we get for playing with the beta.

yes, this is solved by soft reset all your data on the phone - from the settings menu, ofc it will wipe all your data and everything, i had the same problem btw ^^
@The Main Problem
I am pretty sure its not related to the internet speed too, my 3G internet speed is above 4 mb/s
i Can't try it over wifi for some reason.. and even if i tried it will be of no use .. the basic state for my phone is 24/7 on 3G with Wifi turned off even at home .. also wifi turns off automatic after screen off so thats another block ..
what i am asking for is the reliability over 3G which is very important for a BBM/iCrap replacement solution ( for example )
i hope this get fixed in the final release, but i won't bet on it since the final release already out

The final release its 8 builds after our mango. So, it is a bug, it should be corrected. Although I dont think it really is a bug..

Jallen, do you have the Facebook app installed with notifications turned on?

are you able to see your contacts status? i can see there name and for some friends i can only see there email id. And the yahoo friends who are on my windows live ID. i can see them online but when i click on there name it says "Something's wrong"

Can't call my girlfriend!!

I have this strange problem since 1 month ago more or less.
I'm not able to make call only to my gf, it's the only number I can't call. I can text her (sms and wa) but not call!
I tried to reset and change rom and kernel to my NexusS, and I also tried to reset her galaxy ace, and to delete my contact from her list.

If you REALLY did that, then it might be a network problem, a radio problem, or someone cursed you both.
But i think it's a network problem. Can you call other contacts normally?

Maybe try changing your radio! If that doesnt help call your provider or call somebody in the same network as her!
But maybe theres a reason you cant call her? (jk)

What happens when u call?
Nothing?
Voicemail? Or
Something else?
If voicemail then it could be her phone that has ur # set as "send call directly to voicemail"
If nothing then its ur phone... But if ur able to make other calls then try dialing her number with the 1 in front of area code then try without. It could have been changed somehow.
Lastly, do either u or ur gf use Google voice or any other service besides ur phone company? ... If so check those settings just to make sure.

that's right

either your girl or someone with acces to her phone could have easyli put you on a call black list eaven if the rom she has doesent support that it cant be done with certain apps....or her phone has problens, if it would be a Nexus radio problem it couldent affect only her nomber

i cant tell you which to flash cause it depends on your area. i used to use the kb3 because i had faster internet and better connection with it... but i moved away and i didnt care about looking which works best.
but it does seem more likely that theres sth wrong with your girlfriends phone...

I had a look at her phone yesterday and there's no "send to voicemail" option activated, it was the first thing I tried.
She has no apps for blacklisting contacts and, at first view, no option to do that.
we both can make call to everyone, and she can call me but i can't call her: when I try I hear for a moment the "tuu" sound (hope you understand what I mean) then the typical sound of call terminated.
I'm pretty sure it's a problem related to her phone. It has a GB 2.3.7 custom rom installed by me last year, I never updated it but it always work perfectly!
I will try a different radio just for trying to speed up my internet connection, I don't think it can be related to this problem too.

Or call your provider.

Maybe your Nexus is trying to tell you something.
Lol, anyway, check both phones, Google voice, and carriers for any sort of blocks. I know that on some phones, it's easy to accidentally put someone on a block list.
