Hello guys,
this is my first post on this forum and I hope it doesn't sound to agressive.
So, here goes:
I bought a HTC Touch Cruise that was locked on the RO Vodafone network. Before finding out about this great forum and all of you guys I ordered and paid, stupid me, ~30 euros for an unlock code from deblocage-htc.com
I sent them the correct imei, and the money via paypal and the next day i received my unlock code.
I inserted a sim card from the telecom company i work with and it asked for the unlock code, so i entered the code and... surprise: INVALID CODE.
I sent an email back to the site owners (that was 7 days ago) and asked them to help me solve my problem.
7 days have passed and still no answer, although I sent several other emails.
I filed a claim on paypal and the guy managed to send evidence that he is ok in only 2 MINUTES, but still doesn't find time to answer my emails.
This was the first time (and definitely the last one) I tried the easy way and I ended up with a "fat lip"
I managed to unlock my phone by miself today thanks to the nice utilities and the very explicit guide provided by Olinex (hope I remembered it right), so i promise i'll make a donation to you this week.
What I'm pissed about are not the money, but the fact that they didn't even bother to answer my emails.
PS.
My lawyer would love to know their real name and address, as I record each and every online purchase I make, and print screens with all the terms and conditions.
Hopefully the guys in the IT dept in my company will manage to provide me with the information I need.
I apologize again if this post doesn't belong here, but in a moment of stupidity (this was my first windows mobile phone and I didn't have any patience) i've been scammed for the first time in my life...
PS 2
Pardon my english, but I'm not native.
Did anyone else encounter the same problem?
We at XDA are sorry to hear that happen to you and pray that you get your funds back, but still this is not the place to discuss these issues. Hope you understand. I will keep this thread locked till someone can PM me if they have any information to share with you, then I'll open it again
Moreover within an hour, looks like no one else faced this problem
This is just to clean the forums clean so everyone can get the information that they seek regarding devices and ROMs and likes
Thank you

Hi there, I use these brill forums a lot to get info, but I can't seem to find anything to answer my current question, so I am posting for the very first time, and would be super grateful if anyone could help me out.
My NIKI recently died apparrently due to water damage/corosion, which is annoying because it's been v. well looked after (though according to t-mobile it was probably 'steam or other condensation')
anyhew, voided warranty, blah, blah, so I bought a cheap knackered version of my last phone; the VOX, on ebay - which will be fine soon as I get some DR. Gonzo spleandour on there.
HOWEVER the main reason it was so cheap apart from the scratches etc., was that it's still SIM-locked to Orange. and although I've CID and APP unlocked before, I've never SIM unlocked- the guys at www.imei-check.co.uk/ seem to be legit, but also WELL expensive. There are websites such as this who claim to be able to do it for £4.99 -and others for £3 or £2 are all of those websites just lying? Will they steal my money or f*ck with my phone?
appreciate you probably didn't need my life story, but would be v. grateful for any help,
thanks, and sorry if this is tackled elsewhere, do link me,

jockyw2001 will provide you an unlock code for a reasonable price. PM him.
oh, ok, thanks, I thought that thread was bad because people were complaining, read so much I must be getting mixed up! thanks for your help. Just didn't know what a reasonable price is- and now i did the stupid lame noob asking a question that it already answered thing. D'oh!
Hey no biggie. The thread is a little confusing, hope you get it sorted and get yourself an unlock code so you can use your device.
Try Jocky .....he will help you...
but as an alternate.. you can go imei..guys...I got my VOX unlocked from them online and it took about 30 min to receive the unlock code by mail and my phone was unlocked..
thanks
Thanks
Dear all,
I am writing today as I don't see an other way to go about this:
On November the 15th, I bought a copy of ActivePrint (www.activeprint.net) right from the developer's website. I paid by Credit Card and the money was sent to the developer.
I never received a registration code for the software, though. Up to now I sent surely ten e-mails and webform requests to the developer but didn't get any reaction whatsoever.
What really made me angry now, was to see that he's now offering everyone buying the software from his webshop a 2gb sd card until christmas. Well, I'm really wondering...
What are your experiences? Did you buy the software and receive a registration code right away?
Cheers,
Bengt
(and sorry for being so silent otherwise... I really appreciate xda-developers and the people here. Keep up the great work! Merry Christmas to all!)
Just for your information, I received a registration code yesterday after I sent a letter.
So there was something wrong with your email address ?
Well, now I'll have to try and find that out. He maybe didn't get my e-mails (but everyone else did)...
Hi everyone, my names. Steve, been lurking and learning lots from everyone out there. So first off thanks a ton to you all. I have worked in the industry for years, and learning everyday...
Well I figured now that I have a lot of time off coming up thanks to disabilities, figured I would register, join the family and help out where I can, and continue to learn.. now with that aside...lol
I have a pretty big problem, I have a Telus brand htc tp2 (T7379) and its getting costly, I'm at the end of my leash, and it still presists.
Problem 1 is that almost since day one I wanted to unlock the sim for travelling abroad , and have done 3 times already, first time cost $115 from telus ( at that time, my options were limited). Second time cost $78 through telus after sending it back in for repair (should have been free if you ask me). Third time was the same deal, but cost me the same $78..
Just 2 days ago, I tried to unlock it again from one of those online sim unlock sights for $45 but I was ripped off, the provided me with a sim unlock code that wasn't close to correct, and when comfronted they told me there no way it didn't work and that I was just trying to pull something, but here I sit $45 lighter in the pocket, and a phone that's gonna be costing me a lot in the upcoming days in roaming charges if I cant figure out something and quick...
This is only one of the 2 problems I have, but I am pretty sure that a hard spl and unlock will fix that, after reading up on my options. I'm gonna do that tomorrow and hope it fixes 2 underlying firmware issues I have been having, and if it doesn't fix it I will be on here early in the morning possible looking for help..
I am leaving late tuesday night for 2 weeks of medical treatments in Houston Texas. And the last time I was there and roaming it cost me over $4000. And I can not do that again, as money is tight now to begin with
If there is anyone who can assist me in unlocking the sim, I will forever be in your debt, as I already am, please pm me or reply here with a email address and I can send you the IMEI and so on.. I can afford a little bit, not much, but can only pay via email money transfer, no paypal or credit cards available...however I am more then willing to lend a helping hand and my wisdon to anyone who I can help as a form of payment if need be.. Please someone help, I cant afford to get burned again with this, as it is I'm already out $45 and still in this predicament. Please someone help me!
Thank you very much
Steve Cantin
Sorry cant post my email yet
Ok I fixed one issue, it doesn't seem as slow anymore, but now it wont charge from the charger only the pc.. this all started after a power outage while I was tethered, since then will not charge from wall... just fonna have to take a laptop with me....
I'm still in need of help though for unlocking my phone, I just got off the phone with Telus and been given the run arround for the last 3 hours. Them saying they don't have the ability to do so, cause they don't have them, but just over a year ago, I got it done by them...
Someone please help me, I cant afford medical bills and expences as well as roaming charges
Please message me if u can help... please someone help me!
Thanks EVERYONE!
Steve
Hello XDA,
I am an occasional viewer but first time poster. I have searched the forum but couldn't really find anything to help. I was in Germany in December and used htcsimunlock.com to provide me with a code to unlock my HTC desire (locked to Virgin).
I paid the intial fee then then told me I need to pay another fee for a "deep search" and I recieved my code. From what I can tell from reading previous posts it seems this is a legitimate way to do it (not that I agree with the way they informed me about the charges).
However the code they gave me didn't work. I have since emailed them 3 times to get a refund as they advertise how you can get a full refund but They have completely ignored me.
It seems some people have used this company sucessfully but from my perpective it seems like a terrible company a best and a complete scam at worst.
I am just hoping somebody can advise me how to go about getting a refund?
Thanks again.

Sounds like your phone was reported stolen by the previous owner and blacklisted on the network. You cannot install different roms on it like you can for Android. The best thing you could probably do know (unless you know the old owner and can get your money back) is to list it on eBay as "Bad ESN" and hope you can recoup your costs. There are probably ways to get around the bad ESN but that is not something you will find here.
Sorry I closed this thread because there isn't a lot of iPhone information on xda and iPhone threads tend to attract trolls .
I think that coolloser is correct and that T-mobile reported the phone stolen when the previous owner stopped paying T-mobile. Your only real recourse is to try and fix the issue with the previous owner or maybe T-mobile. Finally, changing the ESN of your phone to get around blacklisted numbers is illegal in most places and so is providing help for some one to do it. So please be really careful about asking about changing your ESN and please don't do it on xda.
Thanks!
