But to answer your question directly, no, you can't install PC software on a WinMo device.
@emesbe
FIRST OF ALL FLAMING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN THE Q&A SECTION
@rossari0
no you cannot load programs designed for windows vista or windows xp on your ppc it is a differen operating system.
Some progams like the sims are available in a different version for your ppc. You will just need to do a search for what you are looking for. Here is a link to a freeware site to which you can download some apps for your phone (i can assure you though that diablo isn't on the list )
My apologies. It will not happen again.
oops. wrong post.

Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM for Device Emulator

Hi all,
I've noticed the recent flurry of 6.5 ROM's in the last few days on these boards but noticed that they have been for specific devices. Are there any enterprising ROM cookers out there that could cook up a ROM for the Microsoft Device Emulator?
I and i imagine the rest of the board would be very grateful for this
Im looking for ROM like this too, but nobody made ROM with WM 6.5 for MDE :/
it will released soon i think.
Its here!

was wondering, can you just download the sdk and ms emulator v.3
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...AF-12E3-4B2F-A394-356E2C2FB114&displaylang=en)
to make it work without installing virtual pc 2007 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...02-3199-48a3-afa2-2dc0b40a73b6&DisplayLang=en) ?
i cant seem to get the cellular emulator to work. so i cannot connect to the internet through the phone. any ideas how to make this work? using Windows7 BTW.
next question, if i install a Cab that requires a restart will the installed files "stick"?

Configuring the Windows Mobile Emulator

I'm trying to set up the Windows Mobile emulator to "try before I buy" different roms, before I go through with flashing my phone. I've tried to find documentation on getting it set up but it seems I've been unable to find a straight up guide. All I downloaded was the emulator itself.
I'm nothing unfamiliar with command lines and all that. I think I'm just having a senior moment in my early 20s..
The emulator won't work with device specific ROMs, so you won't be able to test them with it.

[Q] Android Emulator

I've seen a few threads around on emulation. But I haven't seen a definitive answer. Before I get flamed...I did search. But nothing....
Is it possible to run 2.3.x on a pc in an emulator? I assume yes.
I'd like to figure this cooking thing out and I have another assumption...wouldn't it be easier if after cooking you could boot up the ROM in an emulator?
If these are all Noob assumptions please let me know.
Yes it is possible
Go to android.com
Download and install the Android SDK (and other prerequisites)
download the platform tools needed(2.3.x) and create a new AVD and select 2.3.x as target
Google/Youtube will help you more here
And you can test your cooked rom if its in .img format(not sure about others)

Is it possible to run a nandroid on a emulator on PC?

Hi xda forum
So as the question in the headline goes. If so, how and with which emulator?
Thank you
I am not sure about your question. In fact, developers can create Andriod Virtual Devices(AVDs)in the AVD Manager on their PC in order to test or debug their Apps on them.
The task is to run the OS of a Android phone on a PC. Maybe by creating a clone or disk image of the android, just like you can clone a Windows OS from one PC to another one where all files, settings, installed programs are intact.
