Looking for music player - Touch Cruise General

Hello!
I am looking for a good music player but... I have a small requirement. At the moment I use the pocket player but it lacks a few functions.
The most important thing I am looking for is the possibility of using directories as playlists - a function very simple and available in all the mp3 players -> it allows you to navigate through the directories and it plays songs one by one in the given directory (with function such as repeat directory etc.). It would be great also to have the possibility of changing the order of files in each directory (I mean, the way the player sorts them).
If the before-mentioned function is not available in any popular players I would like to substitute it with the playlists browser known from the "foobar2000". I mean - to have the possibility of loading e.g. 10 different playlists (I mean, to some list of playlists, not all the songs into one list) and browsing through them smoothly (without interrupting playing).
Thank you for information if any of these two functions is available anywhere...
Best regards,
Theriel

Search the Dev/Hack forum for S2P (Slide 2 Play). It's a member developed application that uses directories as its primary way of handling playlists.

Dynamic / Smart Playlists???

hi all,
I'm looking for some way to use the Smart Playlist functionality in WMP (desktop version) on my Wizard.
I'm currently trying to learn a language and it's really annoying to be rocking out to my favorite songs and then here "blue....alabastru...blue" followed by a few more songs.
What I want to do is set up a Smart Playlist that will play all of my mp3's/wma's EXCEPT those that have an ID tag of LANGUAGE LEARNING. While I don't change out my music all that often, it does happen, which is another reason why I want a dynamic playlist instead of one that I have to manually open to edit out the language files.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Edit: In a perfect world I'd like to find an all-in-one media player that can play Divx and XviD videos well. CorePlayer and the like would be perfect, but it doesn't look like it supports dynamic playlists

Media Player w/Album Artist (Windows & Android)

I'm looking for a media player that will allow me to select music by Album Artist, I have spend hours tagging my music and most music players I try use the Artist, which contains multiple entries for the same album.
The only software I have found on WM is Pocket Player, but not entirely convinced by it. I have also recently got a HTC Tattoo, but can't find any decent media player that supports the resolution, let alone one which handles Album Artist.
Any recommendations welcome
I know this is a very old thread but... same question. I am kind of in disbelief that all the music players for Android are so poor, but it seems they are… can anyone recommend a player that correctly handles music with various artists in a single album (which is very common)?
Ideally one which also supports the ability to search the music collection, and replaygain.
How is it that with the numerous apps available, there are still none with as many features as Windows Mobile had several years ago? *shakes head*

[Q] Music player with own database for very large library?

Hello,
yes, I'm new to this forum. And yes, I right away have a really special problem
I have ripped my 2000+ CD's onto a harddisk. Now I've bought a Samsung Galaxy S2 which has the USB host feature which works without problems.
When I use the stock music player, I can't remove the USB harddisk with the large MP3 library because when I do, the automatic media scanning removes all files from the database, and when I connect the harddisk again, all files are scanned anew which lasts an eternity
So I looked for a music player which maintains its own database independent from the Android one. After a REALLY long search I found TTpod which works well - when I remove the USB harddisk, the TTpod library remains unmodified and doesn't get rescanned when connecting again, just like I wanted it. The music folder on the harddisk got a ".nomedia" file so it's invisible to the Android media scanner.
BUT (!), and that's why I'm asking here for help:
TTpod doesn't have a search function! (The stock player and some others have.)
But I need one! Often I have to search for something like "Err... there was this piano prelude by Brahms...", and in other players it's easy: I type "brahms piano prelude" into the search box, and voilà - there are all matching files listed. But with TTpod it's very awkward to find something in a larger collection!
So, my question in short:
Is there any media player
1) which has an own independent media library with search function
2) which can use a folder on a USB device as root folder
3) whose library remains unaltered when the storage medium is disconnected
4) which can index this folder in spite of a ".nomedia" file in it?
Or is there any other possibility to solve my problem and maintain a huge MP3 library with my SGS2 comfortably?
Thanks in advance,
best wishes,
Hasenbein1966
Try PowerAmp,
You can turn off system media scanning and i believe it keeps its own database.
I'm sorry, but PowerAmp uses the built-in Android library.
AND it can't use a folder on an external USB device.
*sigh*

Try power player..
Do you mean "Power Music Player"? There's one app named Power Player but that's for streaming...
Power Music Player doesn't work. Shows empty Library tab; I can't choose any folders.
I don't want to be impolite, but please suggest an app ONLY if you tested it yourself, otherwise this thread will be filled with suggestions like "Try Mixzing...", "Try PlayerPro..." I REALLY have tested MANY apps myself already, otherwise I wouldn't ask here!
Thanks!

Best Music Media Player and PC Program for making Playlists

Was in search of a better Music player for my Infuse and NexusS4G and found what I think is the best on the market at least in the Free category. "MixZing" is phenomenal. and as much as I like Apollo (Thanks Rom Builders for including it) it is a PITA to navigate in creating playlists and execution. Not to mention it defaults to DSP to give U a decent EQ.
Well MixZing has all of that built in. Awesome EQ.. easy navigation. And damn nice theming.
I will say that I downloaded a separate program on my PC called Media Monkey which is another marvel. It proved to be easy and instrumental in creating playlists on my PC that were easily transferable to the Phones.
Basically I created folders for my songs already as I use a USB Flash drive in my cars (Camaro, Vette, CTS_V, and Tahoe... ALL GM!!! BABY) Folders allow a very nice and simple interface in place of a playlist on Flashdrive capable vehicles.
Anyway..use Media Monkey to create playlists from the Folders or group of songs. Then with a simple click (right mouse click in fact) "send to..." "M3U" playlist. Copy the M3U to any folder or group U wish to make the playlist and viola...

Playlist Feature (Shoutcast, WinAmp, etc)

I'm not sure if this feature has been suggested, or if it already exists (being unable to find it), but I would really like the ability to build and manage playlists in MX Player.
I really do love how MX Player can run independent of playlists, jumping to the next file in a local folder (or shuffling if enabled), but sometimes I'm keen to watch or listen to a specific series of media, even web media and streams.
Now that WinAmp is dead, I do hope that some of the features found in WinAmp will find their way into MX Player. That includes:
Playlists
Shoutcast streams
More prominent Shuffle and Loop buttons (took me a long time to find this hidden feature).
Also, I would really love the ability to copy or bookmark the address of streaming media. For instance, if I choose MX Player to play a .pls or .m3u link, that media opens in MX Player, but I have no means of copying or bookmarking it to play again later.
Thanks bleu8888.

Already on the feature list from a long time ago. (high priority #8). Ctrl+F in the "feature requests" sticky post next time
Also if you are looking for a dedicated, feature-rich music app, I would recommend PowerAmp.
