newer nativ wm6 devices seems to have much better bluetooth support then older native wm2003 devices
more so when a2dp is involved
but the fact that it dont have HSDPA or a frontcam to do video phonening

makes it somewhat a stale upgrade imho
I never use my keyboard on my BA. And I never use all that fancy stuff like HSPDA. No need for. I hate this 200MHz stuff and those tiny screens. I agree with you, the return of the Alpine, QTEK 2020i etc.But I would spend the money for it rather then for a Touch!

I had no problem paring my Jabra 620 bleutooth stereo headset. Worked right away and every time i try to pair (as opposed to with my S200 which i regularly had to soft-reset to pair). Ome issue I have run into is turning of the HTC6300 during playback with WM also stops playback on the bleutooth headset (this worked with s200)
I'm not really into writing hardware news (I don't have the time for something that other tech writers / bloggers also elaborate on - instead, I prefer spending my time on tutorials, software reviews, Bibles and unique, genuine hacks instead), but the latest hardware news (reported on by Geek.com) is indeed pretty interesting and certainly shows there will be some REALLY exciting Windows Mobile devices in the (unfortunately, not very near: late 2008 / early 2009) future. First look at Qualcomm’s new Fairbanks and Anchorage mobile platforms
The other model, the more exciting one for most people, is the “Anchorage”. This is based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform so it will use a 1.0GHz processor (said to operate at 1/2 watt peak) along with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, cellular, and a lot more good stuff. The unofficial word is that Snapdragon will offer close to the best power/performance ratio of anything on the market. The Anchorage device will be aimed more at productivity and the test model I saw had a QWERTY keyboard. The form factor of this model was a lot like the Nokia N810, but the actual design will be whatever OEMs want. So far we know that Samsung and HTC are on board, but there are a few others that are not official yet.

Anchorage and iPhone
The Anchorage was running Windows Mobile 5.0, which was only used for display purposes as any OS, even a full OS, can be run on the 1.0GHz processor. It also has the camera with video recording, GPS, and live TV playback capability. Because it has a cellular signal it will be prime competition for a device like the HTC Advantage, though it will also compete against products like the Nokia N810 and Sony mylo 2.
Everything is still in its early stages and things will change a lot once the OEMs get their hands on them and start to customize. This may mean lost/added functionality as well as many different form factors and large swings in the price. All we do know is that we should start to see the devices released by the end of 2008, possible early 2009.

The Acer F1 and Toshiba TG01 both boast Snapdragon processors. Many MIDs/Netbooks/Smartbooks whatever you want to call them also have it. I estimate that by next year it will be common for many devices to use it. It is revolutionary IMO

I originally was excited for the device, as I loved my N800, but this just seems like a normal smartphone for me. The browser doesn't even seem to be any better than the older NIT. Don't get me wrong, it still looks pretty good, but not good enough to switch to T-Mobile which has no 3G coverage in my area.
Interesting, I don't know much about the previous Maeme devices so could you tell me more about them? Is the N900 a step backwards in anyway?
The device is really thick, even for a qwerty slider...
It's pretty much the same thickness as my TyTN II so for me there is really not a problem.

The old NIT devices were great, nice big screens, decent development community, and good web browser. The N900 just basically seems like a smartphone, while the older ones seemed like something bigger and better. If the old ones were updated with the Cortex-A8, I would definitely purchase one. This seems more multifunctional, as you have the old NIT stuff, with a phone. My major disappointments: Small screen(3.5 vs 4.1) and no model without built in phone. 6/10th of an inch may seem like very little, but it is the difference for a great and a good browser for me. The good news is, Maemo4 applications aren't too hard to port.
So pretty much the thing you don't like about it is way I like it. The older devices IMO was too big not really pocket size. You could use it as a phone using VoIP but only through WiFi. This fit my needs because it is a phone that can pretty much do everything that those older devices could but better, faster and smaller.
Yeah, pretty much. I hope that the debian and android ports still work, though.

In conclusion, The Htc touch pro 3 (aka) Htc 7 Pro, which suppose to be more of a business phone, should have a frontward facing camera, at least a micro sd memory card reader for those of us who already have a 16gig micro sd memory card, at least a 4.0 inch screen, and run on the 4G network. I will not mention that the Bluetooth and USB use old technology on the Htc 7 Pro when the new Bluetooth and USB upgraded technology is available. Asking for mobile hotspot and a 1.5 dual core processor would be asking for too much. Most importantly Htc, how does the Htc 7 Pro compare to the Samsung Epic 4G besides the OS?! For those who would like to see the specs of the Samsung Epic 4G with Sprint, go to the Sprint website or Google it.
Notice the full five-row keyboard and big 4-inch screen with a frontward facing camera for video conference. Most importantly check out the specs! So what is the difference between the Htc touch Pro 2 and Htc 7 Pro, and how does it compare to the Samsung Epic 4G?!
That's the way I think HTC should use it, not for WP7. Sorry for offtopic.

I think that would be more akin to the successor of the HTC Shift than the HTC Touch Pro 2.
