HTC Rom Tool ini request - HTC Vox

Hi Guys
Does anyone that is building roms have the correct ini files which support the Vox in the HTC Rom Tool? The automated download in the application seems to be broken at the moment.
Thanks

You can just use the Excalibur-Setting vor building ROMs for Vox!
By the way, this was written down in the wiki!

I did see that in the wiki and tried it but it looked to be an older version of the kitchen than I am using. My reason for asking was that when using the Excalibur setting the end result was a rom that boots as for as the Windows Mobile screen. Shortly after the screen starts changing in brightness and goes no further.

I never had problems with the excalibur setting. It usually is another mistake that causes the boot to halt!

Changing 2nd splashcreen wm6

Hi there,
I finnaly got it to work yesterday... Installed wm6 on my MDA vario... I still got the splashscreen from Molski.biz when booting... The second boot/flashscreen is the standard Wm6 screen.
I changed my first boot screen with another splashcreen... But dont find anything regarding changing the 2nd boot/splashscreen... !!!
Can someone tell me how to change this screen? (so, not the one with the Os numbers in it!!)
thanks allot......
Changing 2nd splashscreen wm6
I use Boot Screen Manager 1.0. It's Free-ware from PDATOPsoft.com.
thanks will try that aswell
You can easily build your own RUU installer for just the splash screens. I've done this a few times myself and its very easy with this set of tools and instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=284006
I'll have to check out that freeware thing mentioned above, but the forum link I gave will step you through changing all 3 splash screens.

Of course you can change the Splash Screens. I have a G4 Wizard and now have XDA Mobile 6 and added the Splash screens that are here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310954
but you need to use the Update Utility from Wizard Love, just swap the nk.nbf file.
You can also use the Update Utility from Wizard Love to change the Radio ROM.
Kind Regards
Darren

Download this kits and you will find that there is some batch files that will take a jpg and make it in to the boot screens and just make sure that you are only making the rom with the HTC and splash only.

Annoying White creen when creating rom in Kitchen and flashing

G4 device (AT&T)
no matter which Kitchen I use, when I create my custom ROM, upon flashing (using Shelltool) I allways get a white screen.
Now I know ive read this somewhere else, but reading through 100's of posts on each custom ROM is getting tiresome.
Can anyone tell me what im doing wrong, and/or how to fix this.
If I flash anyone elses ROM, it works fine (Faria, NBD etc.)

The chances are you are trying to put too much in the ROM. Some of the kitchens don't tell you when this happens and stop but look like they have finished OK (CreateROM.bat). If the last files that appear with the CreateROM.bat tool don't begin with underscores '_' then there are probably too many files. If you restart your PC following boot up do you see some errors about 'BuildImgfs.exe'?
Andy
Darn it you are so right !!
Spot on, I added too many things, and didnt realise id overstepped the limit.
first use a wm5 rom (wizard love or your operator rom)
then try to apply a wm6 rom with shelltools.
doing this, probably you will do.
ah! btw you need use shelltools with the systen running, sometime system crach but sheell tools still work.
one more thing, if you wait more then 30...40m and shelltools dont finnish, close it (pressing ctrl+c on dos screen) and hardreset your device.
for me always works!

Quick bit of advice on Splash Screens!

Hi All
Hopefully a quick one this...
I am getting more into customising my device and am planning to hack my own ROM at some point onto my device. Starting off with some UC components which are working well, but I would like to learn more about how splash screens work on the kaiser.
I have successfully managed to replace the very first splash using a custom .NBH file and RUU, but would love to learn (if) how I can do the others. For example my current ROM which is Duttys displays the animated HTC logo with the custom wording on it "Dutty,s Series" AFTER the one I have flashed to my device. It then displays the green Windows Mobile Splash before finally getting to the OS GUI.
Is it possible to either remove or replace these two screens at all?

I think one of them is welcomehead.96.png and one is called animated.gif. Both in \Windows\
You have to enable the animated one (there's a setting in scahps Advanced Config for this).
This been asked and answered wery many times, whit some searching you can find it all and more...
The first one is startup animation wich you find in the register:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\StartupAnimation]
"GIFFile"="\\Windows\\animated.gif"
Click to collapse
The file can be of variouse names, animated.gif, animated1.gif or something completly diffrent so look for the one unders GIFFile.
Click and refresh for animation
The secound is the splashscreen wich is under
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Splash Screen]
"CarrierBitmap"="\\windows\\welcomehead.96.png"
Click to collapse
Also that name can be diffrent..
For an easy way use Advance Config Tool By schaps and SEARCH before asking.
Good luck.

Htc herald /p4350 rom

Hi!
I am new to this, can someone help me how to update HTC P4350(HERALD)? And from where I can download the files for updating it.. Please help
Hi, I'm also kinda new to this, but I'll try to help you.
Connect your herald to your computer and open ActiveSync, then run the program and follow the instructions
Download this file :
http://www.2shared.com/file/3727387/b4e9df29/Ko_HTC_HOME.html
Sorry for my bad english.
One good way is looking at the Open Touch 6.5 thread. The first post shows basically all the info you need in order to "mod" your Wing/Herald. Plus, in my opinion, Open touch 6.5 with no spb is the best ROM and the one I'm using now until ivan makes his amazing awesome ROM .
And as for programs look for s2u2 (Slide to unlock 2) and s2v (Slide to View) .
just upgrated!
Look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1961488&postcount=123
it is very simple to upgrade. Follow the instructions.
I've used wm6.1 - CE 5.2.19209 (Build 19209.ASerg)
I had wm5 before with glitches and sticking.
It's a big difference! Very good assembly. You can try it.
P4350 i cant star my phone anymore
Firstly i was trying to update from 6.0 to 6.1 but i didnt manage it.. after several times i decided to update to TylerC161 Wing Kit... and so on and on.

1. This post is in the wrong forum. It is not a development related thread.
2. You hijacked a thread. Please always start a new thread or find one that deals with the issues you're having.
3. The answers have been already discussed many times. If you follow the guides of ANY ROM, they refer to HardSPL. Search for "Herald HardSPL" to find out how to HardSPL your phone (MAKE SURE your Herald has a SPL at least at 4.0 if you do.)
I'm closing this thread now since it's old.
