With your PDA in a passive holder attached onto the dashboard it is always within easy reach -safe and convenient. The holder is mounted onto a tilt swivel so it is adjustable for avoiding light reflection on the screen. It is easy to put the PDA in the holder, and to take it out of the holder. You can connect e.g. a charging cable to the PDA when it is in the holder. Attach onto ProClip Mounting Platform.
Item no. 848843 fits:
HTC Touch Diamond For all countries

I also ordered my Brodit active holder, it will arrive tomorrow but i'm not at home so i can pick it up monday... Will post some pics when i have it
Anyone aware of a bike-mount for this holder?
Richter have a bike-mount converter for their holders but the brodit holders look nicer/less clunky.
Also what is the difference active and passive?

Hi where did you order it?
Will it fit the diamond with extended battery also or will there be a different version? Just a thought maybe someone knows.
Thanks!
I ordered at pdaplus.nl. Quick service!

I got this cradle (843843 Holder with 3-in-1 Adapter - 40 cm adapter cable), and I'm not happy at all. It has no microphone and you can't use it for handsfree calling (damn, even the cheap Y-Cable from HTC allowed me do that!), and I don't know if it's something related to the cooked rom i recently installed, but my Diamond, when plugged, goes into headphone mode 1 time on 10...
Audio quality is like the Y-Cable, less noise when charging and playing music (this is probably the only pro...).

I'm looking for a car mount "pad" for the Desire that looks like this:

This one is for an HTC Orbit 2 (the O2 version of the Polaris). I have the car vent mount with the 4 pins and just want a plastic plate for the Desire with 4 holes that would fit. Any ideas? Couldn't find anything on eBay - they are all either Brodit or some custom ones which only fit the supplied suction stand.
Edit: there seems to be an 4-pin adapter from Brodit. Anyone tried that? Looks like this:
http://www.brodit.com/productinformation.jsp?anr=202001&sortiment=s800
This is exactly the same thing that I've been looking for too. I too have a vent mount from quite a while back, used it with my MDA Vario and MDA Compact IV. There were many cheaply priced holders on ebay for these device but can't find anything for the Desire.
I believe the de-facto (or standard?) name for this type of 4 prong mount is Herbert Richter.
P.S. I have also got the 'Brodit to HR' adapter plate in your link. It works well. Only downside is that it 'bulks' up the mount. It is for this reason I am holding back on buying a Brodit type holder.

So this adapter plate is made to work with a 4-pin (HR) mount and a Brodit plate. Have you tried that?
The problem in my case is that the car vent mount already has a 360-degree joint, and so does the passive holder from Brodit. So if I use the Brodit holder + the adapter + my vent mount, I end up, as you said, with the whole thing having 2 joints, sticking out a lot and therefore will be very unstable, I guess...
I got the adapter plate for the same reason, I wanted a swivel holder for my Compact IV.
If you do get it, make sure you get the correct one, as I remember there were a few variants, specifically, an adapter four screw holes on each corner and the one in your link which has two holes top and bottom. I've got this one:
http://www.valuemax.co.uk/product_details.php?id=5771
But...
I've just seen this on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Car-Mount-Hol...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item4aa14e5b98
I know it comes with the suction mount, but it seems like it can be removed and put on to a vent mount.
"[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Clip the holder to your car's air mouth or use the suction cup to ensure the safety of the device on the windshield"
There are no pictures that indicate it does use the HR mount, but probably best to email the seller. EDIT: Looking at similar mounts from the same seller for the 3gs shows a picture of the HR 4 prong mounts.
I may order from the above seller, get rid of the suction mount, and use the device holder directly on my swivel vent mount.

Yes, there are plates with the 4 HR holes and this is one of them. Unfortunately, this kind of plate is only good if you want your phone horizontal. I really don't like how the phone is attached to the pad - had such one for my HD2, it was a hassle to attach and detach. That's why I'm looking for a vertical slide-in plate.
I'm debating on which car mount to get for my Fascinate. I have a Zagg Invisibleshield on the back and the SGP Ultra Crystal protector on the front, so allowing for a case is not a problem.
Option #1) Samsung Galaxy S i500 Vehicle Navigation Mount

It seems to fit perfectly and there are some great pics here. It looks like there is a micro USB plug that activates the Car Cradle app but that's 100% useless to me since it launches all the Microsoft/Verizon crap. I'll be using Google Maps/Navigation anyway. I'm also not quite clear as to how the cradle itself gets power. The cradle also seems to cover the 3.5mm headphone jack, ruining any chance of me using the phone as audio input in my car (I don't have a Bluetooth stereo). The biggest plus? I can get it for $30-$40, depending on how lucky I get online.
Option #2) The ProClip Car Mount
http://www.proclipusa.com/brodit-de...cord-for-fixed-installation-513192-18363.aspx
Customized to the Fascinate, dedicated charging adapter that, with a little wiring, won't use up your DC port. It leaves the 3.5mm jack open for use. The drawback? The $80 pricetag, PLUS the $30 mounting plate you need for it. That's pretty pricey but almost looks worth it...
Option #3) Some other generic swiveling mounting clip
Any worthwhile experiences anyone wants to share?
Proclip 10000%
I've had 3 different proclips for different phones. Best mount on the planet. VERY well made and the vehicle mounts are made specifically for your car.
Not cheap, but very well worth it. I probably went through 6 or 8 mounts before finding Proclips.
Here are some pics of my iPhone cradle in my Acura TSX.

I just got my new Acura TL, so I need to get the vehicle mount for it, but I have the Fascinate holder and it fits great. Very sturdy, doesn't move around at all and just snaps into place.
Only thing is it does not have case/extended battery support.
I used this: http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-SM415-W...SE/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1295493610&sr=8-18
They do make an adjustable mount for phones with cases.
http://www.proclipusa.com/brodit-de...ces-with-or-without-a-skin-875214A-13978.aspx
But, the naked versions are much nicer as far as sliding the phone in and out.
Slide it in, it automatically plugs the charger in... Slide it out when you leave the car. No buttons to push. Everything can be done with one hand.
I have searched for years to get a reliable, easy to use and functional mount for my cars. This is by far the best one on the market. I've spent a hundred dollars on all the other mounts and threw them all in the garbage after getting the ProClip.
I have both of the Samsung mounts and the ProClip and I say ProClip all the way. I liked the look of the Samsung with the charger built in, but it is really difficult to get the phone out. I dropped my phone more than once trying to get it out one handed. Also, the suction cup mount on the Samsung mounts are the least flexible/customizable of any I've used in the past.
The ProClip holds the phone securely while still allowing for quick and easy docking and removal. You also can't beat the mounting locations and options they provide.
If you can afford it, go with the ProClip.
Oh and a side bonus is that you can access the headphone jack on the ProClip so you don't have to wait for Froyo...
ok, was bummed to find out that both my car chargers didn't work with the atrix 2, so i picked up the car dock today at the at&t store for $40. i'll preface this with the fact that this dock is $99 at motorola, $59 from amazon, but only $40 from at&t.
this is probably the best accessory purchase i have ever made for any device i have ever owned, lol. seriously. it's well constructed, sticks firmly to the windshield (can also mount to dash), the dc plug has 2 ports on it, the usb cable also carries audio and has a 3.5mm jack plug, the dock can accommodate a small case, the usb plug on the dock can be removed and flipped for the 4g and it charges, lol
some pics i took of it tonight

for $40, you can't go wrong. at&t wanted $30 for one of the generic dc plug with a coiled cable things, so for $10 more and 60% less than what motorola wanted and $20 cheaper than amazon, i couldn't pass on the deal.
if you're looking for a car charger or vehicle mount solution, pick this up before at&t realizes their price point is off, lol
You think it would work with the commuter case or not?

not sure, if you look at this pic
you can see the insert used to fit a phone without a case, if the commuter is about that thick, then it should work
I have the commuter case and it doesnt work with the hard shell but you can easily put it in there with the silicone case still on it not too much of an inconvenience only takes me about 10 secs to get off the case and put it back on.
I picked mine up today and It works with the Red speck case they sell. its a nice fit too. Im going to look at the multimedia dock and see if it also fits with the speck case.
I've asked this in another thread, so I'm sorry if I'm coming across as annoying...
Can someone who has the car dock and a multi-meter check the resistance value between the usb pins (specifically between pins 4 & 5)? I've made my own dock (I realize I could have bought the dock, but I like making things like this, and I think it turned out fairly nice) but it's still missing the audio out through the usb. I'm still working off the assumption that the car dock mode is triggered via a specific resistor value on the ID pin and the audio out is with pins 2 & 3 (pin 5 is the common ground).
Again, sorry for bringing this up again in another thread, but I still haven't gotten anyone to make the measurement yet.
Thanks!
Well, I've pulled out my CarPC setup and replaced it with an android tablet. I had been looking for mounting options and Proclip finally sent me an email confirming they had just released a mount for the Galaxy Tab 8.9
About pro-clip mounts:
At first I was quite skeptical about how sturdy this mount could possibly be... But after receiving it, I was fairly pleased with the results. It is quite strong. Feels durable. And the design is just right. Its not monstrous like some of those generic mounts out there.
They have 3 versions of this mount available for the Galaxy tab 8.9.

#512300 ($99.99US)eek...
#513300 ($119.99) ouch >_<
To mount the galaxy tab 8.9 in my 2006 Jeep wrangler, I needed to order two parts. The tablet holder (#511300) and the center dash mount clip (#853223).
The package arrived in good shape. Careful packaging was done so i'm pleased with that.
First lets talk about the holder it self.
The build materials feel strong. Much better than I anticipated. It's all plastic (except the screws of course) but it does not have that cheap plastic feel that some mounts have.
I noticed it has a sticker for http://brodit.se on the swivel mount. Must be the European main distributor perhaps.
When the table is mounted on the holder, none of the buttons or ports are blocked.
Its not very obstructive
And now the center dash mount clip:
This thing is over priced... Its all plastic. Im skeptical of the stability of this particular mount component.
And here are some pictures of the mount installed. Installation was a breeze.
The Table is used in my jeep for GPS navigation, music via a2dp, and OBDII data over bluetooth among other things.
It is held sturdy in place with no slack back, forth, nor side to side. The Tilt and Swivel feels just right. Its not too stiff to adjust, and it does not re-adjust its position on its on even when hitting moderate bumps on a trail.
I went out on a 2 hour drive to test it and i'm pleased. It held up really well. It was not bouncing / vibrating all over the place as I had thought it might.
The tablet gets tethered up to my phone for data, and sends music and navigation voice to my radio over a2dp bluetooth.
Feel free to ask any questions, or request pics if needed.
Have you seen any scratching of the device from its clip points?

Very cool. Thanks for sharing this. I'm still debating whether or not to get one with the built in power cable...
I use this too. This in my setup with the 8.9 LTE:

Hi guys and gals.
FINALLY got the note 4 about an hour ago, wow,,,, anyways
I have a note 2 with a brodit active dock, i was looking for a replacement from brodit but they still have yet to list one.
Once my note arrived i was suprised how similar the two phone were so i tried the phone in my dock, everything lines up but the note 2 has a rounder bottom that the dock wraps around.
a quick knife later and a little bit of boring i now have a dock that fits both my note 2 and note 4 (wife will be pleased)

Ive just ordered another note 2 dock to go into her car so the phones are now interchangable between cars!!
Looks awesome... Too bad it isn't compatible with a bulky tough case or I will would be all over it
cheers mate, thats why i use the noreve cases as they are easily removed to dock with those cases.
Waiting for mine to arrive as they are backlogged.
If you're looking for a car dock that works with a bulky case check out the Akron Mega Grip. They make a number of mounting styles including 3 that plug into your 12v outlet for charging. I've had mine for almost 3 years and it works flawlessly. I got one of the models that charges the phone.

By "active" dock, does that mean it puts the phone in dock mode? If so, does it work for the Note 4 too?

Na, i am not sure what brodit mean by active as it never did activate any dock mode while in the car, all i know is thier active range have chargers.
I use me car bluetooth to active car mode - i have a seperate app as htc car dock mode put me of oems dock modes for life.
Active means a build in charger indeed. There are two versions. Either via a 12V adapter for the cigarette socket , with the charging wire always dangling visible over the dashboard. Or via cabling that can be invisible routed inside the dashboard and connected to 12V somewhere. The active versions are brilliant, in particular with a Car Dock App you have all you need. (my experience with the Car Home Ultra app is extremely positive).
The 12V cigarette adapter version is ugly but easy to install. The version with internal cabling is the best looking solution, but depending on the access to 12V more difficult to install.
