O2 XDA Flame - General Topics

I came across this phone today at one of the auctions I go to so I bought it (for a low price) It does not have a battery (I am buying one right now) I thought it was an XDA atom but it is the XDA flame (O2)
When you plug it in with no battery it lights up and shows the following info at the bottom of the screen:
arima SP3600 eboot vo .9(c)501
It has that in a white bar at the bottom of the screen (the background wallpaper is a nice blue/green/purple pattern)
As soon as it shows this info the screen goes black (the device is still turned on) and when I press on the power button it shows back up then disappears again. does it just need a rom flashed onto it?
Thanks

I don't own a flame, but I do own a HTC Himalaya, and yes when it just shows the boot screen it means it MAY need a new Rom flashed on it.
Alternatively, sometimes you can just press the reset button (assuming it has one) and it should load back into the rom.
If it doesn't load into the rom after that, I guess the person who owned it before you may have made a failed update.
I would obviously try the reset button first.
Also, you may want to specifically ask in the Flame forum, as they can tell you SPECIFICALLY what is going on and what to do.
Cheers.

Wtf My Phone Wont Go On

i flashed NBD 8.2 and it wont get past the wM6 screen and its freezes aometimes it doesnt go on i took the battery out and was wondering what i can do?
hold down the "wifi/connection" hardware button and "voice record" hardware button and press/depress the soft reset button while still holding the hardware buttons then follow the on-screen prompt to restore your device.. if it doesn't work the first time try it one more time...
ok it send to restore then it went black screen on my again
Boot into the bootloader screen, connect to your PC, and flash a carrier ROM.
come on where can i find a carrier rom?
and it wont go i cant connect
Help!!!!please
Your carrier rom is the rom that came supplied with your device. Typically its whatever brand is on your device eg Dopod, K-JAM, HTC, T-mobile etc. The latest carrier rom for your device is usually available on the respective websites.
You havent mentioned if you have a G3/G4 ipl/spl etc. The best advice I can give based on the your post is as everyone else has already told you, put the phone in bootloader then flash your carriers rom.
good luck
yea i would do that but my phone doesnt go on completely
Take battery out. put battery back in. hold camera button, turn on phone. should take you into a screen with 3 colors on it.Thats called boot loader mode. Then connect via usb. flash either tmobile 2.26 or cingular 2.25. Cingular rom is available at htc.com. then you can go through the unlock process again. Then flash another rom again.
thank will do it tonight and do the unlock process tommorrow
i tried and got to bootloader screen and then it just did what it did before dims backlight and likke shuts off wtf is worng?

Bt Htc S710 Original Rom

Hello forum members,
would you please help me have the BT HTC S710 Original ROM? I have only seen the BT HTC S620, which when I tried to flash with to rebrand, blanked my HTC S710 screen. When I turn it on, only the two green lights come on either side of the phone ear piece.
It means that a hard reset is not visible on my screen, there is no tri-colour display either.
I have tried other ROMS, and get invalid id errors and error 270. I have tried Dr Gonzo and related ROMS.
It's now three days, no phone no pim, I am lost.
Thanks for your attention.
YOSEFE.
PS. You may PM me if convenient.
Hi YOSEFE,
I have the same problem
I tried the 620 rom and just have the 2 green LED's. I cannot get a bootloader screen and attempts to flash new roms get to 3% and then I get errors.
Did you ever sort this problem out?
Paul.
Have you unlocked ur USPL in ur phone?
You tried to flash a S620 ROM to a S710???? Look in the Wiki, there is a link to the official ROMs on the ftp...

Yes, I'm afraid I did, by mistake, flash 620 ROM to the 710 [feels rather stupid!]
Not happy with BT’s [mobile operator] own ROM and software that went on the phone, I successfully flashed Dr. Martin Gonzo’s Windows Mobile 6.1 v1.1 and have been using it for a couple of months but when BT launched their new phone software, I decided to try it but because it won’t work with WM 6.1, I needed to then revert back to BT’s old ROM and this was the only one available that I could find [feels rather stupid again].
The screen is completely black; only green LED's on each side of the earpiece shows any sign of life.
Connecting the phone via ActiveSync shows “HTC-S620 Connected” and I am able to browse the files on the phone but not having a display on the phone, I am limited to what I can do.
I have tried running RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.1_4.1.13.54_03.10.90_Ship.exe but ActiveSync connection is lost and I hear the Windows hardware removed sound shortly after the progress bar is shown.
I’m at a loss as to what to try
Paul.
Shut it down, then hold down camera button and plug in the usb cable. The boot screen should appear and you should be able to flash the normal ROM!
I cannot get the boot screen, or any screen for that matter.
I have tried taking the battery out to make sure the phone is off. Reinserting that battery then holding the camera button down and then inserting the usb lead. The keypad lights up for a few seconds then goes out. ActiveSync then connects but the screen is still black
Paul.
[Edited: Sorry duplicate post]
Sorry for replying to my own post but a quick update...
I have managed to bring the phone back to life and reinstall Dr. Martin Gonzo’s Windows Mobile 6.1 v1.1 on it again.
This is partly assumption and not particularly accurate but the original poster (YOSEFE) might find this useful.
By installing the S620 rom on the S710, not only did I make the screen go blank, I think all the keys ended up remapped and mixed up, therefore any attempt to install Gonzo’s rom ultimately ended in failure because when the phone beeped and wanted a keypress to continue, pressing the left softkey for ‘OK’ or ‘Yes’ did not work because it had been remapped to do something else.
What worked for me is that when the phone beeped during the uspl_116_jockyw.bat install, I pressed the X or C key (I can’t remember the exact one now). One of these keys must have been the ‘OK’ or ‘Yes’ key after the S620 rom muddled things up. I only know this by trial and error over the period of today.
To my glee, the backlight lit up on the display and after a bit of tinkering, I’m back in action again
I won’t be installing a rom designed for another model again!
Paul.
Bat 'n' Ball,
sorry for not returning here to see your post. I will remember the possibility of pressing "X" or "C", should I make the same mistake as before, although like you, I should never do that ever again. However, technology being what it is, who knows?
In the end BT got me sorted out.
Thanks for sharing.

SPV M3100 frozen

I know this is a bit of an old phone now, but I'm hoping someone might be able to help...
When I switch the phone on, it gets to the Windows Mobile screen and then just hangs. After a few minutes, it turns itself off.
So far, I've tried the following;
1. Soft reset
2. Hard reset
3. Remove battery, put on charge (red light), replace battery (amber light), hard reset
4. Removed battery for 2 weeks
5. Praying
6. Swearing
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thx
Bad Flash
Hi
You could try starting the device in bootloader in order to re-flash the ROM, or flash a new ROM. Methods for this are:
1) Press the soft reset hole button whilst holding camera button fully in.
2) Remove the battery, then re-insert it and switch the device on by pressing the power button but again ensuring the camera button is depressed fully.
3) Remove the battery and re-insert it. Don't switch the device on but plug it into a Windows PC using a USB cable whilst, you guessed it, depressing the camera button.
If you can get into bootloader (three coloured screen with some yellow writing) then you can probably reflash the device. It sounds like a software problem not a hardware problem but I could be wrong on that.
If you can't get the device into bootloader mode you have a problem that is more complicated to fix, about which I can't advice.
Best wishes

Hi,
Thanks for the reply....I couldn't get your method to bring up the bootloader to work, but tried pressing Power and OK while doing a soft reset.
This brought up a screen with 4 horizontal bars - red, green blue & white. Text at the top says;
HERM100 (text in white)
IPL-1.01
HERM100 (text in yellow)
SPL-1.04
In the white bar is the word 'Serial'
Does this sound right?
Then it just hangs on this screen - is there something else I am supposed press on the phone, or do I do something via my laptop with activesync etc?
Sorry for the additional questions, but I've never had to do this before.
Thanks
An update....
After noticing that 'No GSM' appears on the splash screen, I have now found this page which I think might answer my questions.
I'll have a go at this tonight

Broken GPU? Also How to RMA?

Hi guys, today my OnePlus broke, i think.
20 Minutes ago i was still using it normal.
Then, i turn the screen on and see this:
http://imgur.com/GP2563K
as you can see in the below video, the phone is completely operational, i can use whatsapp web from my pc and the colors of the stripes change according to what should be on the screen:
http://youtu.be/QlO-ttkmVms
i suspect that the gpu has a defect or maybe the connection to screen got loose, even though i did not drop the phone before this started.
the same thing is seen while booting and in the recovery, so it is not a problem with the os itself. what i need to know now, is:
-pictures of cwm so i can go to the backup menu and put a system backup on my pc and then wipe,
-how do i start an rma on the oneplus site? also i have rooted and unlocked the phone, how is one plus going to determine if that caused the error or not? (i know that is not the cause, but i want to be certain that i wont get denied my warranty)
-also if oneplus will send me a new phone, can i ask them to send one with the old backcover? i dont like the covers without the cyngn logo.
UPDATE: via https://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/ i managed to start chromecast screenshare and now i can see the screen on tv. the image on tv and pc looks normal so maybe the screen is broken?
Hope you can get it fixed

Try to going to fastboot (i know you see nothing but try it) and flash clean cm11s and then reboot the phone .....
Hope its not on HW ...
Strange...I heard about people who had problems with a green line which appeared random at the right / left side of the screen when they simply turned it on and that problem was something related to pixels and they solved it by playing a video (like this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VN-KIlsxxOw ) for many hours. Try it and if this doesn't work then the only solution remaining before sending it to repair is a complete fastboot reflash of stock cm11s.
flash philz touch recovery which can be used with hardware buttons and to perform a backup do this:
1) press 3 times the back volume button (the button used to lower the volume when listening to music for example)
2) press home button (the soft-touch home button)
3) press again home button.
The recovery will start performig a backup...the phone will vibrate for 1-2 seconds when it will be done and it should last max 2 min (don't worry you will notice it). Anyway, since the philz touch recovery is cwm-based it could be that the buttons to press are the same for the original cwm recovery but it's a bit risky...
Now turn off the phone (keep the power button pressed for 10 seconds) then boot it again and plug it to to pc and you can find your backup files on the clockwormod folder.
Now you can perform the complete fastboot reflash. Good luck.

Motorola XT1542 Weird brick, (Please help)

Due to some finantial plot twists in my life I've been forced to dust out my old Motorola G 3rd gen and use it as my main phone. A couple of days ago I followed a guide in how to unlock the bootloader and installed Lineage OS, everything was decently smooth, except by the fact that it didn't recognize my SIM card.
So as a troubleshooting step (And since I still didn't had anything important on my phone) I decided to reload a recovery image I had made with the original ROM.
And here is where the troube started. TWRP finished the restoration of the image and I told it to reboot the phone, now it has been stuck on the "Warning Bootloader Unlocked" Warning screen for the past hour or two. When I try to turn it off I hold the power button and 10 second later the screen goes off, but a few seconds later it turns back on and goes back into the warning screen.
When I plug it into my computer it isn't recognized and for some reason it doesn't allow me to enter the Bootloader (It might be worth noting that the volume down button hasn't worked very well for some years.)
So, it's not completely unresponsive, I have a screen and it recognizes button presses to some extent, but I can't do anything with it...
Is there any way I could fix it? I'll appreciate any help. (I don't care if I have to format the phone, I just need to fix it)

So I don't know if this is helpful in anyway, but I'll wait for it to run out of battery and then I'll try to plug it into the computer again, maybe that helps in any way?
I found this reddit thread
https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoG/comments/5iz8fz
Someone had the same issue (Or a very similar one) I had, but I don't know if OP figured out a way to fix it, or if he was able to get into the bootloader.
Update, the phone ran out of battery and it's shows the low battery screen when I try to turn it on, or when I try to enter Bootloader, it's still not recognized by my PC
