Hello. I want to install Dr.Martin Gonzo's WM6.1 Rom. Before that i wanted to back up my orignal ROm.
I consulted the WIKI and i have dumped my ROM by using "itsutilsbin" and "imgfs_tools" as was mentioned in the WIKI.
Now i have 3 files "Part02.raw", "Part01.raw" and "Part00.raw"
and also i have a dump folder containing the files extracted from "Part02.raw" by using "viewimgfs.exe"
I could not create the SYS and OEM folder by using pkgtools. Please intruct how do i do it. Im working on windows Vista.
i moved pkgtool.exe to the 'imgfs_tools' directory. when i double click it i get a windows saying select a folder. When i select folder i get error msg.
Please help with this issue.
How do i convert the SYS and OEM folder to a flashable rom or to .nbh file?
What else do i need do with my device before i flash a new ROM
oops! So much preparation before flashing
Just download HTC latest official ROM for VOX. Keep it for future in case of warranty issues etc whenever needed.
Flash with your desired ROM and enjoy.
Why having sleepless nights just because of this? please come out of SYS, OEM world.

Hi,
I am cooking for my perosnla use a anew ROM; but have some problems with it. Using the VF_UK_3.08.161.0_radio_sign_25.74.40.02_1.64.08.21 ROM and KaiserKitchen provided by Alex.
What have I done.
1. Extract RUU_signed.nbh and edited OEM\OEM_Lang_0409\initflashfiles.dat for changing the program folder and the links.
2. Cooked and flashed a new ROM. Works fine.
BTW: Many thanks for this forum !!!
3. Installed new CABs (approx. 20 new Cabs)
4. Dumped with pdocread.exe the files Part00.raw, ..., Part04.raw.
5. Put RUU_signed.nbh (from point2), Part01.raw and Part02.raw in BaseRom folder and extract them. (I took the option b from the extract menu).
6. Cook a new ROM.
But this ROM has the same size like the ROM from point 2.
I thought Part01 and Part02 includes my new installed CABs within the OS.
I have searched the forum, but I have found unfortunately nothings which helps me.
Any hints, any tips ?
Many mans thanks

as far as i understand,if you dump a rom you dump the "base" rom, not the installed cab´s.
if you want more programs in your rom you have to put the oem-packs in your kitchen!
The dump include OS (OEM, ROM & XIP data), Radio, SPL. The dump is reading rom files.
To add things you need to create packages for them. Read the wiki or thread about package maker.
Thanks to all .... I thought I can go this way.

I think you can. We talked about that, and I think it would be better option to do that way, because it's faster to include all progs, tweaks and release a new ROM. Also I think most people rather likes to create OEM packages, but dumping full ROM would be excellent option. This days I think I will have some free time to try that. Like "austinsnyc" told me in some older post, IMGFS tools could be help us to do that.
There is link what we talked about:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376685
We can help each other in progress. If we will be successful I will create tutorial.
Let me know how that works out
i need the rom and sys folders of this build pls help
any answer plz
I'm sure that most of us would love to help (including myself)
can you give us some more information though? I believe it comes out of 3.29 right? in which case you can download it from the wiki, rename it to RUU_signed and put it in your BaseROM folder, and extract it

You would need to port the sys to use it on the 19202 build; you can't just directly drag it there.

Use the original KaiserKitchen file to extract your rom and it will make it into pretty folder for you OEM, SYS, ROM temp....from there you can get the SYS folder....
No offense but if you are starting this thread because you don't know how to extract or cook a ROM it is useless...READ the WIKI...

You are not using a shipped ROM. The "Beta , make your own rom " is a message put in the ROM by the chef to prevent people from "stealing" their work. For the record, I consider that a cheesy thing to do. My ROMs can be dumped successfully.
Anyway, go to the Kaiser Wiki, download the HTC 3.29 WWE ROM, and extract it like mbarvian said above.
Hello all ,
I ran into the problem of liking a rom that was protected..
no problem , only thing i want to add was remote tracker.
the rest i do with uc.
So with the help of da_g i striped a kitchen to unpack and repack protected roms.
to add a package , just unpack..put your cab in the dump dir and add it to config????.txt
and repack.
that way i get the use the protected rom with my own package build in.
thought i would post it.

hi arnoldl,
i want to thank you and everyone have helped you to create and publish this. i was searching something like this since many time ago, finally i found your thread and i was able to add RT to the rom i use!
i think this will be useful to many other people
i have changed something and it works perfectly with my blackstone!
thank you thank you.
bye
What is the difference in extracting ngh file, adding cab file to dump folder, updataing config.txt and recooking compared to installing the cab file using UC?
Can we add visual kitchen packages to this dump folder? If we can add do we need to just copy all the files in all the folders of the package to dump folder?
eg: in the package there are some files in 0409 and some in files folder , _skip, app.reg, all these goes to dump folder?
Thanks
@DarkRenegade
No problem , happy that i helped...
@kk0813
If i would buy a phone of the street , i would do the folowing.
- check if there are funny things on it
- format the card
- hardreset the phone
and gone is your remote tracker protection..
If i cook rt in, with my personal settings for it.
after a hard-reset it's installed again , so i can still gps find my stolen phone after a complete format.
only next step i want to take is to re-hard spl , to prevent reflashing if posible.
but these days with new 6.5 images coming out so quick i flash so often i will wait with that one
but all other things i install by uc or later shashimi
Don't know if you can add kitchen files.
never tried it.....
btw attached a new version.
remade it to work with the new envirus kitchen the newer 6.5 roms are using..

You have a Trojan horse in first post!!!
All this to add a couple of cabs to a ROM ? Isn't it a whole of a lot easier to just... you know... install them after ? Or maybe even UC them to make it even lazier ?
Does this work with other roms from other devices? Or just Raphael roms?
I tried this but it extracts os.nb and os.nb.payload and also os.nb.extra but when it starts to create dump it fails
this is the log
ImgfsToDump 2.1rc2
Cannot map file imgfs.bin
what to do help

Use the latest version of extractor, place the .nbh file in BaseROM, rename it to RUU_signed.nbh and run the extractor.
That worked for me.
A little late reading this, but I downloaded it to rip a rom from a little known site & guess what... Theres a trojan in that 1st post, virus software just riped it out of 2 kitchens recently downloaded as well as that 1st post file.
file namned Win32/Delfsnif.dx
I used your extractor but when i use old (1,2mb) i have problem with rom (sense 2.5 crash , windows menu crash), when i use new extractor (1,9mb) i don;t have a bootable rom (.nbh is very small 15mb-100mb) Is there any solution?
Sorry for my english I hope you can understand me.
I think there are more usefull tools that could help you.
Let's have a look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=411915
And I believe that this tool is used by most roms makers.
Sorry but this tool is traying to rebuild protected rom into kitchen (with folders - ext, rom, sys etc.) but this is impossible.
Worked Great ! !
It worked great for me!
Moving to general section
You should just move this to the cooking forum. People are always asking if you can modify cooked roms. Then others are always answering that you can't dump and modify a protected rom, which clearly isn't true. So this would work ok in the Cooking forum (can't even remember the name of the forum, even though I'm a mod there, lol).
If this works, than this is pretty kick ass! I was recently trying to simplify the process as you did but your work looks flawless to me! I'll post as soon as I can confirm it works putting the rom back on an HTC rose (htc s743).
After the rom is dumped, what says what files go in what directories? In the dump directory ALL files are in the dump directory and not in the folder structure they would be after the ROM is flashed to the phone. Where would I find what determines the folder structure?
I want to do a simple job: backup my actual kaiser rom, modify my rom adding/removing some application, then cook the new modified rom.
I was looking for a lot of time inside the forums for a guide/tutorial how to dump my actual KAISER rom , then modify it adding/removing some applications, then cook the new ROM to be flashed.
After a look around I was able to dump correctly part000.raw,part001.raw,part002.raw and part003.raw.
After I downloaded kaiserkitchen_01_20_08 and installed it.
Then I downloaded Alex 5.1 OEM packages and copied into c:\kaiserkitchen\packages.
Then I downloaded Alex 5 HT ROM 3.03 and copied into c:\kaiserkitchen\sys and c:\kaiserkitchen\sys
I moved .raw files in c:\kaiserkitchen\BaseROM
Then I started kaiserkitchen.cmd. I followed instructions to extract a dumped rom and cook it. The black window worked for some minutes and finished with message : Ignore any error while deleting files ! followed by 10 lines with message Impossible to find specified file...
All seems to be ok here. Yes ?
From here I can not go on, because when I launch BuldOS+PackageTools I can see only some applications that I imagine are from Alex oem, but I want to work only with my applications and I can not find them ! Where are applications installed in my actual ROM. How can I use them to rebuild my own ROM ?
Please, help me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How to extract the .nbh file from my device? or where i get it?
Thanks for help
my device is a htc apache
Please read this even thou your device it's not the same, the procedure it's quite similar.
i dont understood
First download mtty.exe
Back-up you card via active sync or card reader. (i recommend 128-512mb).
Start your phone in bootloader mode.
Disable USB conection in active sync.
Connect the device.
Run mtty.exe, select USB, CMD> prompt should be displayed if not, hit enter.
Type (don't copy/paste) "r2sd all" and hit enter.
The loader will dump the entire ROM (including extended ROM) to the SD card.
Note that this is NOT a file on a FAT filesystem - its a RAW data dump with a signature and checksum. This backup can be flashed directly from you card.
thanks, but my question was because i wanto to carry xip and sys files to my dump rom to build a new custom rom. I have my dump and my extracted rom, and im stock in this step
