Extracting V1615 nl setup - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Vodafone runs a setup application when the phone is booted after the roms is flashed, it installs some software and sets it up for Vodafones 3G/HSDPA network. Is there a way to extract this? I have the rom, but after running the scoter kitchen extract option I couldn't find anything that might be it...
So is it possible?

I'm still missing some things after installing this.
I used to have a push mail installer from vodafone and I had 4 connections now I have 3. I think I'm missing the mail from the list.

theres couple different things the autorun does. Changes themes, bootscreens, and couple connection settings. I'm assuming you want the connection settings. There are cabs all around for certain connection settings. If you end up doing this yourself, you will have to play around with the kitchen and extract the NBH files. After extracting, all the files would be in the OEMoperator folder.

Yeah i found a bunch of stuff. Not in the oemoperators folder but the operatorpkg.
Is there a way of installing this in a allready installed rom, or should I rebuild and reflash the rom with this in it?
As it looks to me I should probely stuff the entire OEM folder in the new rom...

Use this, its for the dutch operators
This simple tool to automatically setup your data connection
its posible to run the cab with the 1e installation

I managed to rip out and insert the oem from the vodafone rom and insert it in to the rom I wanted to use. I was just wondering if it was posible to create my own OEM package from it, but there are some files (particulary the operator and menu config) that conflict and have to be merged. Is there a process so I can use it on other roms to without having to merge it manualy every time?

Autorun.exe to do batch execution of .cab files?

After working with the extended ROM, another thought occurred to me. This is all working fine for faria's ROM... but in future I may not have a ROM Kitchen to reconfigure the ROM. Is there another more generic way to solve my problem of getting my custom apps and settings on a new ROM release? Setting up the extended ROM and using autorun.exe to autoexecute .cab files got me thinking....
Is it possible to run autorun.exe manually after a ROM installation and by setting registry keys appropriately point it to a group of cab files on a storage card? Or is there some other way to do this? For a vanilla ROM, I have like 20+ cab files to install to get all my applications and customizations installed. Automating this process as much a possible would be hugely helpful !
Thoughts? Anyone doing something like this?
So what would you like this app to do?
Auto install all cabs in the ExtROM
Configure the network of your choice
Process some XML which has all of you personal tweaks and speedials or even activesync settings in it
This is all possible with a simple c# application.
Maybe this will do the job

AT&T Configuration Cab File

Does anyone know which cab file is used to configure the connection settings on the inital boot-up? I have looked through all the cab files in the windows directory, but the only cab files I could find related to connection settings were for removing and restoring the proxy... But nothing creating the different connections.
Basically, my goal is to create a cab file that can be used to create the AT&T settings for any ROM. Similar to what we had from Custel on the 8525. Any help is appreciated
Thanks,
when i flashed to the 0.7 rom it automatically downloaded the settings...dunno if it was something in the rom.
do a search for HTC connection wizard...this will configure att's settings automatically...this is what i use and it works everytime i change ROMs...
I have some cabs that have been posted on the forums for AT&T/Cingular. Here's what I have.

Network Setup CAB/Package

Hi all
i'm a new rom cooker and i've built my first rom n successfuly flashed it and its all good! One thing i can't find is the Network Setup thing
for example on Duttys Roms when you first boot it asks you to auto setup your Network Provider (Eg Orange UK)
where can i find a cab for this?
also the PACKAGE to use to cook into my rom?
yes i have tried searching but not exactly sure what its called, searching Network Setup doesnt bring anything good up ..
Thanks
Did you try this? Not sure if that is it or not.
ah Dutty made it duuuhhh!! Thats the one many thanks i'll build it myself into a package thanks
Looks like the password for provision.zip is no longer '1234'. Searching and googling didn't locate the new password, does anyone have it?
Connection setup (a.k.a. Network Wizard) is included within my OEM Packages, which can be found in my cooking kit threads.

Found it:
030D681B-1DFC-4bd0-A72A-A9B3CCCDA653
I am able to unzip the new provision.zip with 030D681B-1DFC-4bd0-A72A-A9B3CCCDA653.
I am able to unzip the provision.zip, then the prov.zip and then the individual setting zip files using this PW. But strange thing that is happenning is that when I zip the files again the size of the final provision.zip reduces by about 150KB. And when packed in the Kitchen the utility does not work. where am I going wrong?
Can you kindly guide me?
Actually I was compelled to edit the provision.zip because the settings in it were wrong corresponding to my service provider. So I needed to modify those settings..

New to rom coocking .. Have some issues!

Hey there!
Iam relatively new to this world so i have some questions.. Iam coocking a rom for my blackstone based on the stock rom .. But i have some errors..
1. I need to replace the default netcf with the newest one (3.5) .. Iam not sure if it has something to do with the package i got hold of but if i just replace the package from sys with my one, netcf won't work on the phone.. Software that needs it gives me an error if i try to open it.. What have i done wrong?
2. I have made a OEM package containing some few regtweaks.. Some of those reg tweaks simply doesn't work! If i check the registry afterwards i have flashed the rom, they just haven't been created, while some of the reg tweaks from the same oem package has.. Iam talking specifically about these:
Code:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu]
"ManilaCustomHLUp"=dword:66
"ManilaCustomHLDown"=dword:CC
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\TaskManager]
"ManilaCustomHLUp"=dword:66
"ManilaCustomHLDown"=dword:CC
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Policies\Policies]
"0000101a"=dword:00000001
The file here is saved as Unicode .. The last reg tweak works but the others doesn't .. I have no idea why.. They simply doesn't exist if i check afterwards i flashed the rom .. Any ideas?
3. I wanted to replace the default start menu icon.. So i went for "SYS\Base_DPI_192\shellres.192.dll" opened the DLL with reshack and went for "Bitmap -> 292" And replaced the icon with a new one.. I then saved the file and used msigner to sign the file.. But this won't work either.. What am i doing wrong?
Hmm seems like i have to post this in some other forum ?
In theory, you should be able to swap the two netCF packages, and everything should work as intended. Where are you getting you 3.5 OEM pack from? Or are you making it yourself?
What may work better for regtweaks is to make a provxml file (a plain text file with *.provxml file extension) and create a new OEM pack with that in, and use BuildDSM to add the *.provxml to make sure it gets inserted when the ROM is flashed.
RGU->ProvXML converter
BuildDSM
Hope that helps!

Actually i have allready fixed the two first problems.. for the first problem i took some netcf 3.5 oem and swapped some files from a pocket pc netcf 3.5 package i found @ microsoft which seems to be working.. don't know why the oem package i was trying to use didn't work though.. For the second problem i did as you told me which is working.. Thanks!
However i still have problems getting my custom start menu icon to work .. Have you tried cooking custom icons in a rom before ?
What didn't work about the custom icon? Did it not show up, or did the ROM not boot?
If it's the first, then there may be other icons in other files that affect it.
If it's the latter, it may be the image size, or something to do with the signing.

How to downgrade with official desktop updater!?

Hey,
I tried to pot my Treo back to WM6 from Vodafone with the original updater, but it keeps telling me that my device is not supported because of language issues (Right now there is WM6.1 working on it in english and I need to flash the German WM6). when I open the installer with WINRAR I can see a couple of *.nbh files (cheeimg.nbh and cheeimg_fw.nbh). Is it eventually possible to just take one of them and flash it? or do they anyway require to have a preinstalled stock ROM to update with them? And why are there so many other files in, when i usually actually just need one nbh file as a rom?
Thanks for helping me understand my phone
bump
i d like to know that aswell. did you fixed the issue by now?
If you want to use the official updater you need to modify the payloads.xml file.
You can find it by opening the official updater, but don't start the upgrade. Opening the updater will extract a bunch of files to your TEMP folder. The payloads.xml file will be in one of the subfolders. The folder is called something random so you'll have to seach for it, but you'll see a bunch of Palm icons in it so you'll know you're there.
You can edit the payloads.xml file with any text editor. Notepad works fine.
If you are changing carriers as part of the update, you will probably need to change the carrier code to the one matching the currently installed ROM. This is AT&T, for example.
Code:
<carrier_codes>CNG,ATT</carrier_codes>
I think Vodofone is VF, but you'll have to do some searching to confirm that.
Then you need to change the revision range to allow the downgrade.
Code:
<revision_range>
<low>1.13</low>
<high>3.00</high>
</revision_range>
Save it when you are done, and then start the updater. It should work. If not, there are plenty of posts here about downgrading ROM's, so search around until you find something that works for you.
And yes, you can extract the ROM's from a desktop updater and flash using the SD card method, assuming of course you have successfully HardSPL'd your phone. You need the CHEEIMG_FW.nbh file, but must rename it to CHEEIMG.nbh before putting it on the SD card.
You don't need to Hard-SPL in order to flash official Palm WM ROMs from a MiniSD.
