Amiga Emulators - General Topics

Evening All
I installed PocketUAE Amiga emulator the problem is it seems to run incredibly slow, i have added a disk image via the settings page but when i run the emulator it seems to access the image as if it was a 3.5 in floppy, really slowly etc, i have found numerous settings that are supposed to speed up this process but to no avail.
Can anyone reccomend another emulator as i really am struggling with this one.
cheers
Andy

Emulator for ZeroWing

Hi,
I have been looking for an emulator that will run ZeroWing.
I've tried PocketGenesis, but this only shows a black screen after loading the ROM (Same goes for other Genesis Roms).
After that I tried PicoDrive, which seems to be able to run the game, but I couldn't re-map the button and I didn't know what the default button for "start" was (I've pressed all buttons on my dads device to test, a HP4700).
After that I tried a MAME rom together with MegaCE 3, but this would just crash back to the menu of MAME in the PPC emulator, and on the real PPC the program took ages to load.
I am planning on buying myself a HTC Universal, but since this is one of my favourite games I would really like to know if it's possible to play it on this device :/
Thank you,
TB

ScummVM and the Fuze

Hey guys,
I'm having an issue with ScummVM and was hoping somebody around here is having the same issue.
The application loads and runs fine (I have the latest version - 0.13.1 ... Windows CE ARM package).
The issue is that none of the games that I have loaded onto my SD card appear in the games list when I browse for them.
I installed Scumm to my main memory and have the game files loaded onto the microSD card.
The interesting thing is that I installed Scumm on my computer and can load and play the game files just fine, however the mobile version doesn't seem to like it very much.
Has anybody else had this issue with the Fuze?
I've been able to play the monkey island series with only minor probs.
I found that i could not open games unless i was using the correct scummvm.exe. Once i unzipped the scummvm download i had a scummvm1 and scummvm2 app.
For example monkey island will not show in the games list unless i use scummvm1.
wow, i could have sworn that i ran scummvm1
thanks!
ok, interesting issue now
i ran and played monkeyisland1 a few times with scummvm1....and now every time i attempt to run scummvm my screen goes black and it crashes
*edit*
on further investigation it seems that changing the graphics mode is the issue
it runs fine directly after i change it, but when i attempt to re-run scummvm later on it will crash on startup (unless if gfx_mode is default)
any thoughts?

Need help with getting sound to work on GOG version of Ultima Underworld 1 on DosBox

Through tons of trial and error, Google searching, and file searching, I have finally been able to get the GOG version of Ultima Underworld 1 to run on my TF300 using DosBox Turbo. However, when I run the autoexec.bat on DosBox Manager or type the manual commands, the game plays with no sound. I've tried many settings on the configuarations page and even put the UINSTALL and UWSOUND commands on the autoexec.bat. Could someone help me to fix the no sound problem?
Also, as an aside, I would like to find ways to tweak Ultima Underworld to run better on my tablet, especially ones that improve the mouse cursor response.

You may need to set DosBox Turbo to manual mode and edit the dosbox.conf manually. In the [sblaster] section, set these if they don't exist:
sbtype=sb16
mixer=true
oplmode=auto
oplemu=fast
oplrate=22050
irq=5 <=== Optionally, can be set to 7.
dma=1
hdma=1
sbbase=220
Then, make sure the Sound Blaster Pro has been selected from the INSTALL.EXE program. After that, run UWSOUND and see if it detects the sound card for both music and speech, if not, modify the one not working for the correct IRQ (defaults to 7 for speech...).
As far as making the experience smoother, I would try stepping the CPU cycles up, and setting the tablet to performance mode.
Found out what was the problem. I found out on the GOG forums that it turns out that all the files were compressed into a "game.gog" folder. I extracted it using 7zip and found all the files I needed, especially the "UINSTALL" and "UWSOUND" files that I needed. When I finished, I ran "UINSTALL" and set up the sound and then ran UWSOUND. When I ran the game, there was sound. Everything is running smoothly, although I would like for the in game mouse cursor to keep up with the TF300s tackpad cursor, but that's a minor complaint. In any case, thanks for the help and advice.

Screens of Ouya "not-quite-working" in Windows Emulator @fullscreen

Anyone know how to turn that darn update thing off? far out it is ****ting me to tears. It is basically the whole reason the interface crashes.
Naturally I have no games installed on it yet.
I'm considering scrapping this anyway, and going straight for the x86 standard Android Image through a customised Virtualbox. Going to try formatting an image using an Ubuntu disc to ext4 and and installing to the image rather than booting from an .iso and hopefully we can get somewhere :good: Virtualbox is as far as I know the only means of supporting bluetooth so I am much better off if I am to run sixaxis controller and emulator inside an emulator :laugh:
It's been done before so spare me the lecture about how it can't be done anyway...:fingers-crossed: fingers crossed
I threw in a few other shots, some of my unfinished emulator project...very simple. I have used a Ram Disk as an accelerator for it to boost performance. Essentially my emulator "super emulator" automatically loads a 2GB image directly into RAM, the image is mounted to disc directly next to the emulator images. Then some scripts move the emulator .img files inside the 2GB ramdisk (all except for the 4GB Sdcard.img) and then start the emulator. This allows for massive increases in speed. Only thing is my graphics card lets me down here and cannot keep up
I did this in the hopes of creating a super accelerated Android emulator that should run about 50-100x faster than a SSD. I have an SSD anyway, so god help those of you who loath this thing, far out emulator is a slug. Meh... I am going to try for full hardware accel on Virtualbox (I will most likely boot a lightweight PLOP bootloader - to still take advantage of the scripting i have done that is based on Win) and that should allow an entrance into Virtuabox that will be fast.....almost "not-emulated" so to speak First off will be to see how it goes in VB with Hardware acc and the RamDisk mounting points?
Any thoughts? Happy to upload the system image i made if anyone wants it?

Virtual Machine Error with every android emulator out there

Hi guys,
Im new to this, ive watched tutorials on how to install emulators for apps and so far every single on ive tried gives me Virtual Machine error when i try open it for the first time.
I have tried Memu, Bluestacks, koplayer and Nox. All give me the same error, i desperately want to get an emulator setup on my computer because my phone is kinda slow for the modern games and i now work from home which would allow me to use my pc while i work too!
Any help would be much appreciated!

Did you enable virtualization in your BIOS?
