There's a free trial of their completely redesigned 3.5 concept version web browser:
http://www.access-company.com/products/netfrontmobile/browser/35_wm_tp.html
I've been playing around with it tonight and I'm very impressed. It basically has all the speed advantages of Opera Mini in a proxy-less browser. The page rendering is very fast in full desktop view, with a cool full page view for quickly navigating to the desired section. The scrolling is momentum based, just like the iphone. Even with huge web pages, the scrolling remains smooth and it allows you to browse the page easily while it is still loading.
Go download it and check it out. I think you guys will be impressed.

have tried this today, impressions so far:-
using WiFi - WOW
using GPRS - soooooo slow
have to say it, this is brill but for day to day gonna have to stick with opera mini.
Chris
I didn't consider network speed requirements. My sprint connection is very fast on the HTC Vogue. the good thing about opera mini is the proxy helps with slow connections.
Got this last night and used it for a few hours and i must admit it is growing on me.
At first I thought opera mini was far better (and still is on grps/edge) but this is nice.
The only thing i dont like is the zoom. for me it would be nicer if the full page were full screen like mini, but that is only personal preference. it is quite good that you can see full size what you are looking at behind the zoom.
Not sure yet whether it is opera mini or Netfront for me yet (Netfront doent yet support plugins, but can be a default browser and does support links and downloads) but having it available until the end of march will certainly give us something to play with until Opera 9.5 arrives and really gives us all a challenge to decide.
it works well and has the advantage of default browser capability... but aside from links and downloads i like opera mini better, because it's more responsive and a whole lot faster / more accurate
I just started it:
At the default homepage the CPU usage is next to 0%.
But when I minimize netfront, it stays at 100%!!
Hello,i tried NetFront today and I think it is amazing, but i only tested on wifi and i don't succeed to connect me on gprs, yet I have entered the proxy address 195.115.25.168 from of operator: SFR (from france).
Can you help me please?
tested and feels better than opera mobile 8.65! zoom is also cool although not so cool like in opera mini 4..
It rocks on my touch....
But how to quick zoom the pages??

Thank you!!
This is the best browser which I have never seen.....
Very fast, stable on my Touch and it has lots of functions...
I can scroll all the pages with my finger, both horizontal and vertical ways...
And remember...
This is only a BETA!!!
o like the autocruise thingie. very very nice browser
This really might be the best browser out.
My settings for the fastest/best page viewing:
Browsing Mode: Simple
Display Mode: Normal
Zoom: 75%
Virtual Canvas: 1024x1024
It seems to be good on memory usage so far too.
Very cool
Very cool browser but its slow on AT&T's edge/gprs
can you watch youtube on it?
can you watch youtube using netfront?? or other videos from websites?
Phenomenal performance on wifi...seems to be a bit of a memory hog, but light years better than PIE...

No flash support as of yet, so no youtube. The web 2.0 sites work though. I tried out google maps and it actually worked, but very slow.
Anybody knows if they will release a smartphone version? I Guess this version isn't compatible with WM6 standard?
Hi Guys!
Has anyone of you already tested the new NetFront Browser v3.5?
I just downloaded and played around with it a little while and I must admit it's as good as Opera 9.5.
In fact I think it's a little bit better because it works cleaner. It doesn't fill the memory of the Universal in the way as Opera does.
So please try out and post your experiences.
Thanx
Yes, i've tried it too, in my opinion NetFront is much better then Opera, works very fast and with no lag. Other good think is, that it works also from SD card
Yes you're right man
After a long intensive use of Opera I mostly had to reboot my Uni.
And the NetFront is much better adjustable, I think.
i been using Netfront 3.5 form the week it come out and i love it, it's faster and better than Opera 9.5, PIE 6.1, Picsel 1.2 or any other browser i've used. Obviouly it's my default browser, and it's just awsome.
It takes longer than IE to load and uses more memory, but...
It renders *A LOT* better and is much faster and less processor hungry
I'd strongly recommend it if you are doing any web browsing
Can someone post a link?
I am willing to try it, but where?
Gracias

Just been trying this one myself, having used earlier versions of NetFront pretty extensively in the past.
Certainly no where near as fast to load as Opera Mobile 9.5 Beta, but I do think it is faster than PIE (maybe about the same as Opera Mobile 8.65). The upside for me is that it seems to be far more stable than any of the leaked/hacked versions of the Opera Mobile currently around. The downside, and it is a pretty big one for my usage, is that it can only download one file at a time and while it is downloading you cannot even continue surfing. I use my browser quite a lot for downloading mp3s and music clips and this is a big handicap.

Well - I have the opposite experience.
I was using the 'older' NetFront 3.5 for *ages* before Opera 9.5 Betas started to arrive, and at first found Opera 9.5 unusable.
But - the latter builds - 1006 & 1123 - have both been great.
I tried switching back to NetFront when the new version came out (and posted in General ), but was continually having "not enough memory" errors from NetFront. I just don't get that from Opera.
So - for me at least, Opera 9.5 1123 is the one for the moment.

I got that from their website, and as far as I know it's the only available version.

I tried to install the latest version to the smartphone emulator and it starts and look corrupt. Does look OK when placed in fullscreen mode, though (softkeys and menus are usable).
Didn't seem to be able to browse the internet, though it may well be an emulator issue with my local network config.
I like this but I get too many certificate and DNS errors popping up, so much so that I have to use Opera Mobile 9 instead as - much as it is prone to being unstable - it does at least work properly.
Hi
I just installed Fennec (FireFox) and it's works okay, but still with some knowen issues. E.g. landscape and hardware zoom still dont work.
It's a Alpha 3, and you can download it her Fennec Alpha3
For me, Fennec browser is too buggy and jerky, i suggest you get opera 10 beta 2u for landscape support and greater stability and usability
I could not agree more. FF is just not very usable at the moment in its current state.
i tried it about a month ago. i think its ridiculous how much memory it uses up. ill use ff on the pc but on mobile i actually like the new ie in 6.5, its fast and light. if mozilla can make ff mobile lighter it might be good but right now its un usable.
Still a Beta
Well, remember it's still a Beta version, so of course there is a lots of things that needs to be fixed - that's why is's a Beta. But i think it's exiting to see what they are planing for the final version.
I still use Opera 9.7 for normal browsing.
I also think that Opera is still the best as for now. But I installed Skyfire (it supports flash) and I found it really luggy when it comes to flash... Just thought I'll share that with you
I've tested Fennec 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 CAB file and al; three works but it works crap. It's to slow on my Topaz.
I use the stock Opera HTC (dutch) put on my device and IE. I've also had Opera 9.7 or 10 on my device but that doesn't work as proper as the stock Opera (guess it's Opera 5). I've allready downloaded Skyfire but I haven't be able to test it, old habbits keeps you using your old browsers.
Hello,
I downloaded Opera Mobile 10 b3 today, and was browsing through settings when I noticed a toggle button that said plugins in the advanced category. I am going to test fixoperaflash on it and post my results.
EDIT: I loaded a page with flash content, and plugins enabled and a big white play button appeared over the flash. The browser crashed because of low mem before I could get further. This was without fixoperaflash.
EDIT2: I clicked on a play button and the flash content started! It is less glitchy than older versions of opera. I still did not use fixopera flash!
it still sucks!
and they dont listen to users??
it really annoying MUST tap twice on screen when you go to sites with flash, Pocket IE is much better!
and i said it many times, why are they covering the CLOCK??
i surf internet on break or lunch break, i need to see the clock on top (or put it at bottom) so i wont go over my lunch break!
Yes, wish the clock showed.
But for those of us with low mem, having flash auto load will crash the pda. I love Operas new flash support, but have never used the new Pocket IE -_-
PIE IN WM 6.5.x is the best
Yeah... It probably is. Never tried it though. 'Nixeus', the member who made the 6.5 ROM for Mio p550 has given up

For me it is very good thing because I use flash content only from time to time so I don't want it to waste resources. So they shouldn't remove it, however they could add option to enable or disable this function so everyone would be happy
Well, you can disable flash and probably even the white play buttons if you go to 'about:config'.
Opera Mobile official thread
Thanks for the news
It´s already posted on Opera thread
And remember, this still beta!
I think the beta 3 has vast improvement...
very fast on loading..
plugin support...
and they have lifted the limit of keyboard....
I use Skyfire and i must say, it has all the features Opera promises, but don't . I can even play SuperPoke!Pets on my damn' lame LG KS20 and it is super lightweight (it uses a quarter of opera's size).
I tried opera mobile beta 1, 2 and 3 all are simply useless for low mem devices in beta 3 they have included flash but whats the use it makes extremely unpleasant to browse either the device crashes or just freeze and to just load one singal video i had to wait for 10 mins then after loading i clicked play button then buffering ouff!! its irritating.
Till now opera mobile 9.7 is the fastest and stable one for low mem devices.
And yes i agree with you all internet explorer in wm 6.5.x is much much better than any other browser with full flash support but in low mem devices there are two major problems:
1. Pages load really slow (as they load into device, no server side optimization)
2. Videos play but there quality is less than worst.... in low mem devices even youtube player cant play smooth video

I think it's a good idea to not play Flash automatically, since data traffic tends to be, you know, expensive. Also, it's an experimental feature.

What features does Skyfire have that Opera promises but don't?
Skyfire is small because it's a thin client. Everything you do goes through their servers. And they don't seem to have a business model beyond selling your personal data to advertisers...
Also, Flash is laggy in Skyfire. I can't get myself to like it.

Far superior support for Flash, Silverlight, etc.
Flash support for Opera 10 beta 3 seems very flaky. If you go to news.bbc.co.uk for example, you can't play any of the video clips there in Opera, even though they play happily in IE on my HD2 (with stock ROM).

When did Opera promise Silverlight support?
As for Flash support in Skyfire, are you kidding me? It's basically like a slow and laggy slideshow! I bought into the hype only to turn away disgusted when I realized that it was Skyfire which failed to deliver. I don't want slideshows, I want video!

Downloading directly from HD2:
mini.opera.com (works from most people)
m.opera.com/next (if mini.opera.com only gives you java download)
Looks good
Registry edit for setting Opera Mini 5 as default browser: (Update: needs some more tweaking, look below)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - Microsoft - Shell - Rai - : DEFBROWSER
edit the path at the String Value, to:
"[install memory]/Program files/Opera Mini 5/OperaMini5-WM-armv4i.exe"
Update: Not quite there yet by setting it to default
Some major bugs i've noticed when having Opera Mini 5 set to default browser
1. When clicking links from Peep, Opera Mini 5 starts, but doesen't load the page (URL bar is empty)
2. When clicking links from emails, the previous default browser (Opera 10 beta 3 in my case)
3. Clicking links from sms app, also loads previous default browser....
4. Clicking visual links from Internet tab also loads OM5, but doesen't load page...
so only time I can see it's usefull to have it as default is when clicking "Start webbrowser" at the Internet tab...
Anyone have an idea? Something missing at the registry, or is it a OM5 issue?
THX for the hint. It looks really good! For the people that do not find the version on arxx's link - just click mini.opera.com from your HD2 and you'll get the *.cab.
1st impressions: It is DAMN fast! We got rid of the crappy OperaMini-Keyboard. We got (of course) directly an OperaMini-shortcut. Multitouch doesn't work. Love it anyway!
@de Wolfe
hello,
if I enter mini.opera.com I get the jar / jad file to download and no .cap.
Opera Mini 5 released as native WM app - it's great!
Opera Mini 5 has just been released as a native Windows Mobile application - so it no longer needs a java runtime environment!
Also, it seems it is no longer a beta - many issues have been resolved!
I tested it and it's really fast and smooth!
Here's the article on PocketNow.com:
http://pocketnow.com/software-1/opera-mini-5-updated-as-native-winmo-app-smoother-better
Although the article mentions the cab can be downloaded on the official Opera Mini website - I was not able to find the cab there. I found it on ppcgeeks and I'm attaching it to this post.

So what is the difference between this and opera mobile 10?
The only real difference I have noticed is the cool little transition animation when you move between pages but everything else seems to be the same.
They appear to be on par speed wise (not that I have times each)
Mini does startup a little quicker but thats about all I have noticed.
What do you guys think?
awesome it uses ur own keyboard now xD instead of that crappy built-in 1 cheers m8 ^^ and network66 trying using m.opera.com worked for me

Other than that, I have no idea!
Just tried to run it and it hangs on the first screen, got the title bar and that's it...
I have a problem with my logins on websites!? the mini doesn't remember me and I will have to login everytime... sometimes after changing from site 1 to 2 into the same post. so maybe there's a problem with cookies??
I agree opera mini is so much faster, shame no zoom or landscape view. In the settings image quality is set to low if changed to meduim this slows down page rendering considerably.

As previously stated, Mini is way faster than Mobile, no comparison, be it in terms of loading webpages, transitions, or even launching and closing the app itself.
It does lack some of the more robust niceties of Mobile, but for casual browsing, Mini is as good (imho) and as fast as it gets.

There is a landscape mode, albeit I have to slide out my keyboard (on TP2) to activate it.
Since it's a full-fledged app now, im sure there has to be a registry setting that will allow it to make use of the G-sensor.
