Hey,
I've done a LOT of looking around and haven't been able to find an answer/fix. The volume of the phone during a call is very low compared to MP3 playback or when I have the speakerphone on. I've tried changing The Initvolume values in the registry and also playing around with the .csv audio file in the Windows folder, but after soft resets the volume is still low.
Has any one come across this problem? I'm using the .21 radio and PDAMobiz's latest Diamond Rom, if that factors in. Thanks for any help.

Hey all,
First of all, I want to thank everyone here for the wonderful tutorials. On my first try with very little experience modifying mobile phones, I was successfully able to upgrade my 8125 to the latest TNT Professional release, and am loving it!
A minor annoyance for me is when I change the volume of the device... The default sound 'notification' that plays when the volume is changed is so stinkin' loud on the louder volume levels. Is there any way to change the notification sound, or even disable it all together? Thanks!
Same here. I'd love to shut this sound off, I swear that I read somewhere about some registry settings that need to get tweaked, but I didn't find it after one hour searching... Could someone be so kind and help me (us) out?
Thanks in advance!!
Greets,
Andreas
Replacing sounds
My so-far-fail-safe method is to replace the sound file.
1. in My Documents (or wherever but not /windows), make a copy of a wav you want to use (quieter, or even silent)
2.rename the copy of the happy wav to the name of the icky wav (you get to find out which wav it is, or maybe someone else can offer that)
3. move it to \windows, overwriting the old
In rom it doesn't necessarily actually overwrite, but it's enough to fool the system into using the sound you want. Same with 2nd splash screen.
I figure it's easy enough to be worth a try, anyway.
still have this issue on Wm6.5 energyrom phoenix 2
I cannot disable the volume change sound.
Tried looking for wav files, tried using advancedtweak (And other tweak programs).
I can only get them to shut off when in a call. I want them to be disabled forever. Any solution ideas
Hi,
When browsing the HD2 forums (I'm gonna get one in a few days, yay!) I found this:
75. Disable Beeps When Altering Volume
When you press the volume key you getting annoying beeps. This tweak allows to change the volume silently without the beeps.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Volume\Mute Change from 3 to 1.
It worked on my TP and on also on my Wizard (running WM6.1) aldo the initial setting for Mute was 7. Setting it to 1 did do the trick though.
Cheers,

Yeeeeeeeeeeeee finally! It works!

Hi Guys,
I find the volume is too soft when the phone is switched to a speaker mode. Anyone knows how to change it ? the System and Ring volume bar is already at max.
I used to owe an Omnia...but sold it off because i hate the touch keypad.
Omnia has this code *#0002*28346# that can change all the speaker, earpieces and ring tones.
Does TP has similar code ?
Look for solutions...thanks

I think there is no resolution for low speaker/headphone voice level yet...
yeah no solution as yet...
The sound volume is also a bit lower, that I am using normally(another HTC devices descibed below). I was all the time very happy with HTC's loudness, but Raphael is really too silent. Only one solution now I see, turn on speakerphone mode and turn the device around.with the display outside. So you can call also in discobar.
Sad..Sad...

Guys there is a way to edit the registry on a touch pro to make the volume louder, I had it on my old touch pro, but I just had to get a new one from the insurance company. As soon as I find it I will post it here
I just got my Fuze a couple of days ago, and noticed how much lower than my tilt the speaker volume was. I was ok with it, but is nice to hear someone has a reg hack for bringing the volume up on it. I'll be waiting for this post!
HKLM/Control Panel/Volume AND HKLM/Drivers/Speaker both potentially affect volume
or try this cab, it should work, havent tested it tho
On GSM devices, there is a set of AudioPara*.csv files which are normally found in the kitchen OEMDrivers folder - the contents end up in the .\Windows folder as hidden files). Use the device File Explorer (show hidden/system files) to confirm that AudioPara*.csv files exist on your CDMA device.
1) If they do exist, search the XDA forum using these keywords:
Arup Audio Boost CAB
2) If they do not exist, a CDMA chef may be able to offer some insights on how volume levels are handled for CMDA devices ... afaik, should be the same.
Using a registry editor, search for the .CSV file(s), it will yield the registry key that may need to be changed if you wish to point to a different .CSV filename in case you wish to return to the default file without resetting your device. In all cases, be cautious, tweaking the AudioPara to extreme ranges can damage the device or your hearing.
HTH,
Hey,
I have had a HTC Touch sins 5th of December and i have found a problem I'm not sure if anyone is aware but its quite annoying. The sound through headphones and even to the extent of through the speakers is very quite and I'm not sure what i can do to improve that. Is there some kind of update or something. I could understand the phone speaker being quite and i don't partiuclly mind that but when trying to use it to listen to music or watch a film i find i can't even make out what there saying.
I don't have bad hearing so it can't be that.
Thanks for any help you can provide in advance
Did you make sure that your device volume is turned up all the way? Also make sure that your media player volume is turned up all the way.
It may also be that the media files you are playing have very low volume. Compare this by playing these files on your computer - do you have to turn your computer speakers up high just to hear? this would confirm low sound right in media file.
Do you have wow or srswow or whatever it is called installed. I have heard others having problems with this installed on their devices. this could be the problem. Uninstaling did not work in their case and they had to perform a hard reset (possibly because it had changed registry settings) I don't know if there is any other explanation or solution to your problem. The only time I have ever experienced low sound volume was when my volume settings were set low and I forgot to turn them back up.
to my knowledge there's no way of increasing hardware volume..
you can amplify the media using Goldwave or something.. and check that the volume meter is up all the way both in your media player and on your device.
Hi guys
I have one big problem with my orbit2. If I use my headset to listen to music, the music is far to loud for my to enjoy it.
So here ist my question is there a prog or a regestry hack so i can change the volume lower, especially in the htc audio manager?
I allready searched, but couldn't find a good solution to my problem.
Have a nice day

turn the phone volume down maybe
Well I allready tried that. Music gets quieter, but not quiet enough.
maybe muting the sound altogether may be the trick
(joking of course im not really experience with this type of phone, may i sugest changing thread title to "changing default volumne on orbit 2"
WMP
Hi
If you use Windows Media you can turn the system volume down to minimum and then WMP volume down to 5%!
That will definitely be quiet enough, if you can hear it at all!
Cheers

I recently upgraded from CM7.1 to CM9. I love everything about this, but for some reason the earpiece volume is overly loud. With the volume adjusted all the way down, I still have to hold it 6"+ away from my head while on a call.
Troubleshooting steps I've taken:
Full wipe of caches
Reinstall of ROM
Re-download & reinstall ROM
Scouring forums and using google-fu attempting to find someone who's had a similar issue, but no joy.
I did find a thread detailing an import of libaudio.so from a previous ROM, but the file structure wasn't identical and I didn't want to mess things up anymore than I already have. I've attempted messing around with DSP, but I'm not sure if the 3 settings available (speaker, BT, headset) even apply to the earpiece.
I included a screenshot of my current kernel version & software if that helps. Any assistance would be appreciated.
EDIT: Problem solved. I'm not sure the root issue, but after several back and forths I've found a workaround. Usually when I would initiate a call, volume would be on the lowest setting (albeit unnaturally loud). Adjusting the volume via the external buttons to its max, then back down lowered the earpiece volume to a tolerable level.
