The one I tried crashed the Treo into a loop of resets....
Isn't there one that works?
Please, anyone can answer it?.
In this thread people are talking that one version works:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323989&highlight=htc+home
but, which?
Don't bother...
I tried a couple of them and while the plugin works, it messes up the call window, send and end keys, and dial lookup. You don't have access to the one touch speakerphone and you can't tell whether or not your on a call. I had to hard reset the phone to get rid of it.
I wish someone could make this work correctly with the Treo.
If you insist on trying, backup your phone first....This is the one I used. DO NOT INSTALL Hidelogo.cab. It will cause the reset loop.

Thanks PikaC for your help
I tried this one
I tried the one mentioned above and works GREAT. I have had 0 issues. The only thing now is to try and hide the clock in the top bar. there are 2 clocks one in the top bar and one from the HTC home plugin. I tried to use an updated 6 button plugin but never showed up. Any ideas of how to hide the top clock?
i got rid my tilt rom and put in a original kaiser rom, and recently i put it the touch cube, and my start menu bleeds white, and i have to scroll thru the list to make it look normal, if i dont, u cant see any thing but the icons and even the icon have a problem, they repeat them selves down the list, as of right now, instead of haveing diffrent programs listed there, i got my calculator icon listed through out the entire program field in the start menu. i dont kno wat to do, i never had this problem, if i dont solve it i have to flash this thing again, which im not looking forward to

Why do people insist on starting new threads for these things? Please post this questions like this in the thread for the rom you downloaded. try disabling cleartype and see if that fixes your problem.
Hello,
I installed Vovichek_Jamrecords_20shcut_m2525 mod, and after that, in my start menu appears 3 duplicate shortcuts - HTC_Calendar, HTC_Footprints, HTC_Contacts. All without icon. I got the same problem and through a nice friend i managed to solve this problem.
1. Delete the shortcuts you don need.
2. go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"IsShortcutEnable"=dword:0
3. Soft reset.
yeah, it works! thx a lot. Last time when i had this problem i made hard reset. Today I really didn't want to make hard reset again
again thx
Welcome.... enjoy your leo....
I found a way to disable them in the lua file, good to know there is a reg entry as well
Thanks a lot.
Any ideas how to get those icons back? mine is all white in colour
Desactivate HTC sense, reboot and réactivate HTC sence...
After that my icons comes back
worked well, many thanks!!
I've the same problem when using the same mod.
Finally I uninstalled it because not only the duplicated shortcut issue but also the wallpaper at home screen could not be displayed.
I'm looking for another utility to increase the number of shortcut at home screen. Anybody has suggestion?

Thank you for the advice. I did the long way of searching the \windows folder for those icon and use icon changer to change them. silly me
I don't know if it is just the Sprint Hero, but the big clock widget that has the weather does not update the time. I am using DC 2.05 and have had the same problem running the stock ROM as well.
I have the transparent 2.1 flan style lockscreen so I can see the homescreen without having to unlock the phone, and unfortunetly their are 3 clocks, the lockscreen one, the one in the upper right and the HTC clock widget is in the middle and always off.
I will give an example (It is not because of the 2.1 lockscreen either, I and many others have had this problem who are using the HTC lock screen)
If i turn my phone on at 6:00 and send a text, and then turn it off,
Then check an email at 6:20, when I turn my phone on I see the transparent lockscreen so I can see the lockscreen time, and the upper right time is 6:20, but the HTC clock widget is at 6:00, becasue that is the last time I turned my phone on. Then after 2-3 seconds after I unlock my phone, the HTC clock will update to 6:20.
I know this seems reiculous but the widget takes up half of the home screen and doesn't even work right.
I have never developed an app or anything, but think I know the problem
I used Beautiful widgets and the main clock that shows the time and the weather always had the right time.
The problem must be that the HTC clock does not have access to, or is not getting the time from the system when the device is off, but rather when the phone is on, it updates it. The beautiful widgets app is, and the minute will change the same time the clock in the upper right does. However, with the HTC clock, when I am on my home screen sometimes it takes 5-6 seconds to change, even when the phone is on. So if my phone was on at 6:00 and I went on the internet for 5 minutes and click home, the HTC clock would stay on 6:00 lag for 5-6 seconds and then change to 6:05. It defeats the purpose of having a big clock..
I have searched and cannot find a fix for this, also I have had this problem when running the stock rom, and have had 2 heros, both having the problem,
any ideas, or way to fix the widget to get system time access?
hum. ive never had a problem with the stock htc clock like that. and ive ran pretty much all the roms out there.. currently on fresh 2.0d...

What he is saying is the Weather and Clock widget under the Htc Clock widget does not update the time unless you are on the home page. You put your phone to sleep, you open an app, make a call, etc and once you go back to the home screen it takes a couple of seconds to update it. Yeah, I have this issue to.
I think the reason that it doesn't update until you are on that particular home screen is to save battery life. Anything constantly checking something will reduce battery time. Might not be alot, but I think that is why.

The widgets don't update while the phone is asleep to conserve battery (as was just mentioned). You only see this behavior because you have a modified lockscreen that makes it transparent. That's not how it is was designed by HTC. The extra few seconds to unlock the phone and actually see your home screen would be the delay it usually needs to update the clock.
That or HTC could make all of their widgets continue to use cpu cycles when you aren't looking at them.

Hi Thetrooper70,
B4 all, you're not stupid my friend, you're just a newbie hd2 friend
Now, the thing you're talking about is called "taskbar" which is the top bar of the screen where there is the start logo, "start", Wifi, Bluetooth, USB, band (G, 3G, H), signal strength and band, Volume, Battery.
There is a lot of diferent taskbar designs to suit all tastes, so the best thing you can do is search this great forum for get the one you like.
Here you can find some threads, but please read everything b4 act and don't forget to use the search tool for more,
