I got the same problem and through a nice friend i managed to solve this problem.
1. Delete the shortcuts you don need.
2. go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"IsShortcutEnable"=dword:0
3. Soft reset.

yeah, it works! thx a lot. Last time when i had this problem i made hard reset. Today I really didn't want to make hard reset again
again thx

Welcome.... enjoy your leo....

I found a way to disable them in the lua file, good to know there is a reg entry as well

Thanks a lot.

Any ideas how to get those icons back? mine is all white in colour

Desactivate HTC sense, reboot and réactivate HTC sence...
After that my icons comes back

worked well, many thanks!!

I've the same problem when using the same mod.
Finally I uninstalled it because not only the duplicated shortcut issue but also the wallpaper at home screen could not be displayed.
I'm looking for another utility to increase the number of shortcut at home screen. Anybody has suggestion?

Strange Clock problem

Guys,
I have a strange problem on my Polaris. When I click on the Clock plug-in in the Home page, nothing happens. When I go Start/Setting/Clock Alarm nothing happens again. So I am not able to edit the clock settings. I have probably changed something somehow but I can not change the clock or alarm anymore.
Could you please help...
I have sktools and pocketmechanic. Is there a setting there?
thanks in advance
Try using the time tab.
Settings->personal->today-(items) Enable "Time Tab".
Thanks.
I've tried but still doesn't solve the problem. It displays the time tab but when I click on the clock it doesn't go to the clock screen where I can edit the clock and the alarms...
Really strange, please help!

try to un_plugin the HTC HOME plugin in the setting menu, make a soft reset and than operate the plugin again.
good luck.
I have tried what you suggested. It still doesnt solve the problem. When I unplug it in settings, after the soft reset, when I go start/settings/clock alarms, I lick on the icon, nothing happens. I guess it's a key registry issue?
I might have disabled it somehow...
OK, I have modified one setting in SKtools concerning the menu animation, soft reset, now the clock works correctly...

Change lockscreen wallpaper

Hi friends.
I have a problem, when i want to change me lockscreen wallpaper my phone hangs and i must soft reset every time.
Plz help.
I have the same problem...
Open the start menu and go to Multimedia, Pictures & Videos. Browse to the image you want as your lockscreen wallpaper and click and hold it to get the context menu. Select "Set as Today Background..." and then click "OK".
If that works then it means there's a problem with the Sense UI changing it for you. Stick to that method.
Hope this helps
Thanks for the fast reply.
This method bring the same error...
I dont know why, but earlyer the change was no problem!?

It may be something you've installed. Do you know what you installed around the time that this problem surfaced?
If not, and if you can be bothered for this issue, a hard reset should solve the problem.
I had the sam eproblem, after flashing th1 1.48 rom it was ok and never happened again.
I´m also on the 1.48 ROM.
But its not a huge problem...don´t switch my background every hour
I can live with this bug.

[Q][PROBLEM] HTC Sense 3.0 Lockscreen issue - no 4 buttons

Hello All,
First of all - sorry for my english
Secound - I'm new in Android, my previous device was HTC Touch HD (aka Blackstone) - so I'm a little used to WinMo 6.5
I bought my Sensation last wednesday. It is a stock S-ON RL device (info about ROM is in my signature).
I have non-root'ed device.
Until yesterday (saturday) everything was O.K.
I set up a lockscreen with weather and one custom button (pointed to task manager - built one, not downloaded from Android Market).
Today morning i noticed issue with lockscreen.
There is no buttons above lock ring (any of them), and there is no weather shown.
I did soft-reset my device several times and that doesn't help.
When i go to "home screen" => "personalization" => "lockscreens" => and select (screen 1a, 2a) any of them, then return to "Home Screen" and press POWER button (to activate lockscreen) and again POWER button to see actual lockscreen (screen 3a) - I still don't see any of the four buttons (and weather)...
What's wrong? Anyone have ideas?
I don't see any setting, which could disable the four buttons....
If I wrote something ununderstandable, please let me know
Have I done something wrong? Why yesterday everything was OK? Could something be wrong during night? :/
Sorry for poor quality of screens, my work-phone is prehistorical
Any help would be appreciated
Thanx in advance

At last I found this problem caused by Titanium.Backup When I use Titanium.Backup to restore my system data. The problem appear.
I hope these information can help you.
Had the same issue, solved.
Run the Setup App again
Keep clicking next
Turn screen off you should have the apps and widget back
If this works, pass it around on other forums

T-Mobile OTA Update Bug (Android 2.3.4, Software 1.45.531.1) Affects Lockscreen

Just discovered a very annoying bug with this new OTA update. I've had it for about an hour, and everything else has been good except for this.
With the lockscreen, my first shortcut icon (Phone Dialer) suddenly disappeared. I have no clue how to get it back.
When I try to re-assign it as a shortcut, it doesn't appear on the shortcuts menu.
I'm 1,000% positive that I did not erase the dialer icon in the lockscreen edit menu.
Anyways, this is just a heads up for some of you TmoUSA people who just got the OTA update.
And if anybody has any suggestions on how to prevent/fix this, or get back my phone dialer shortcut, I'd really appreciate it.
I got the phone dialer and it did not disappear from lock screen after the update.
I think this may be an isolated incident. But wow none the less. I would suggest a wipe brother.
Wow, that sucks to know that it's just me
Not that I would wish this problem on any of you, just kinda bothers me because I factory-resetted just yesterday
It's not just you. I still have the phone on my first button of the lock screen, but if I go to edit the lockscreen buttons, the first one is now blank, and Phone is not an option in the list of available apps to assign.
As long as I don't change it, it's good...
The EVO 3D had this problem with 2.3.3 at launch. HTC sent out a minor update to fix. Expect a minor update in the near future.
I wonder if I should just install a phone dialer app from the market and see if that can be a workaround.
What do you guys think?

I have phone as my 2nd shortcut and its still there, and it works.
But the 2nd shortcut is blank in the shortcut assign menu.
*my phone is totally out of box stock
new tmo update

If you save any changes from that screen you'll lose the icon.
Really, yikes. I think I like the 4 I have there now so I'll leave it alone for the time being.
1st - Web
2nd - Phone
3rd - Gmail
4th - Messages
With all these issues I'm seeing I think ima just stick to leedroid or stock rooted. I'm playing around on my myTouch before I sale it.

I just got the update and yes, while I still have the Phone icon on my lockscreen, if I go to the Settings page for the screen the position is blank and "Phone" isn't an option in the list of programs to launch.
It looks like birgertime's work-around may be what you need, until HTC (hopefully) releases a fix for this.
In the mean time, I'm not going to change my lockscreen icons (not that I frequently do anyway).
Not just you. Same thing happened to me. Just got the update today.

i had the same issue, the phone (dialer) missing from menu and lock screen. I downloaded the shortcut from the link above and it worked. Thanx for the shortcut.
I just got the update and I don't have any issues with my lock screen. maybe try to change in your lock screen htc gives us like 6 to choose from 'm using the 1 that shows status updates from facebook and such.
also my wifi is working a lot better I still lose signal when I grip it in landscape mode but it doesn't lose signal completely and I can still use wi-fi even in landscape mode holding it with both hands
The workaround works great! Thanks for the help, everybody.
I was just reading this thread when I noticed that I had the same bug after changing the lockscreen icons. Will flashing a ROM over the update help?

Can you provide screenshots to elaborate please?
I cant see how a screen shot would help explain the problem.
I have had the phone about a week and have tried most functions, they all seem to work fine.
The ONLY fault seems to be the stock power widget.
I understand the widget is supposed to have 5 customisable functions i.e Wifi, gps, etc toggle switches
But I only get a grey rectangle with 5 blanks.
I assume its a corrupt firmware. (Virgin Media)
I have done hard and factory resets.
Please advise where and how I can reload the stock firmware?

I was only trying to help man... because i wanted to see what you were talking about. No issues... if you feel this is unnecessary, i'll leave you to it.
Cheers.
Have you tried using recovery to reset the entire phone? It should reinstall the os for you.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA
Problem Solved
installed Power Control widget on Homescreen
Selected Settings>Wireless & Networks>Wifi
Tick & Untick Wifi
