Is it possible to change the keypad locking sequence on an S710? The kids have found out how to unlock it?
You can put a pin or password on it which has to be entered every time you want to unlock it
Settings --> Security --> Device Lock and set it up in there

Hello,
The exchange password policy was pushed to my phone after setting up my work e-mail. This is fine and does not bother me. I am having trouble figuring out how to enable the lock feature before the timeout period so that I can lock my phone whenever I want vs. waiting for the timeout period.
I have gone to settings and lock and it does lock the keys but does not require my password to unlock the phone. Is this how it is supposed to behave? Any idea on how I can lock the phone on demand to password protect my device?
Thank you all.
not sure what version you have but the Verizon Wireless TP2 when lock is enabled under Settings Tab/All Settings/Personal Tab/Lock, it has Lock as the right softkey on the main screen.
I have the sprint version and when i go to Settings Tab/All Settings/Personal Tab/Lock the phone goes into lock mode and has the keypad displayed for me to enter the password. The issue is though that I don't need to enter my password to unlock the phone. As long as I hit the unlock soft key on the bottom left hand side the phone unlocks itself. I believe it should require me to input my password and then hit unlock.
Just an fyi I do have a password setup on my phone and it does work as I expect it to when the phone times out after 15 minutes and locks itself automatically. I just want to be able to do this without waiting.
if u go to all setting, personal, buttons, then end key, you can choose to display a quick list by holding the end key where you can select to lock the phone or just lock the phone by holding the end key.
Thank you! That worked and it is prompting me for the password to unlock the phone just as I needed.
glad 2 help
Hey there,
Probably a stupid question but when I add a pattern lock to my phone I lose the default lock screen.
When pressing the unlock button:
Without pattern lock - there are two sliders, unlock and sound on/off
With pattern lock - it goes straight the enter pattern thing.
I want to have a pattern, but also have the sliders, how can I do this?
Cheers!
I don't think you can.
i don't think you can either.. guess you must make a sacrifice
Gentlemen-
Is there a way to bypass the lock screen selection portion of the device? I am trying to simply use my security screen (unlock pattern) to get into the phone. Currently I have to drag to unlock my security/unlock pattern screen before I can start accessing my device.
It can be done but not ideal. You can select, Never Lock under settings and General. Unfortunately even with local policy showing that a password for the device is required this completely bypasses needing to enter a password.
hi
I would like to disable the pin lock on my nexus 4 when I'm at home
I tried many thinks(i.e. Tasker+SecureSettings) but pin lock is still activated and I'm thinking it might be due to my mail exchange account policy that forces the pin.
a by pass would be to be able to set the lock timeout to a high value when at home(so that I will only have to enter pin once), but don't know how to do in tasker\llama
so question is: Do you know a way to disable pin when exchange policy forces it?
thanks in advance for your help
Hi, few days ago my standard Screen lock type = PIN&Fingerprits changed without my involvement to Swipe&Fingerprits. When I want to change it back to PIN&Fingerprints, it "works" that way that it can be changed in Settings/Lock screen and security, but in reality when I swith off or restart the phone, I can unlock the pohone with Swipe or Fingerprints, no PIN (the same is with Pattern and Password), i.e. only Swipe or Fingerprits is the unlocking way regardless what is set in Settings/Lock screen and security/Screen lock type. All updates incl.security are the latest ones. Any idea what is causing this? Thx
I think when you reboot the phone, it forces you to use a certain unlock method it deems most secure, all subsequent unlocks after that one should be the way you set it
