Hi
I have succeeded done the bigstorage using WWE_1.12.00 ROM. Thanks for the posters. However I noticed the Clear Vue for PDF is missing. Word and Excell exists. Where can I find this application?
Thanks
Word & Excel are part of the OS rom. ClearVue PDF & PPT where coming on the CD I got from TMO. So check your package pls, can be that it's on the ftp as well. Otherwise gimme a signal & it will be there ...
Regards, M
Thanks oltp,
Just check the cd, it only have activesync and outlook 2002.
I guess the ClearVue is also in the old ROM (1.11.00WWE) or in one of the extended ROM Cabs. . Do you have any idea which CAB or can I rip it from the old ROM if its there?
I use one of the available BigStorage ROM (1.12.00) to upgrade from the ftp
Thanks
You can try bal666 tool to rip it from an ext-rom, easier method is to use wince cab manager. You can take a look inside each cab file from your original ext-rom. You did save it, didn't you?
Sadly I don't know by hard which cab file to look for, somehow I keep forgetting these things. & i'm posting with my magician, so can't check on the PC at the moment. Will look for you as soon as I'm able to.
Cheers, M
Found it in CV2.41.386WWE.CAB in the original extended ROM.
oh my..
thanks!
Or install adobe for PocketPC instead.
Regards,
Arto.
@xda2mid
No problem
@artosoft
ClearVue is free, or at least it came with my magician. Is Adobe 4PPC free to? & is it useful a pdf is hard to view on a PPC.
Regards, M
ClearVue is NOT free. If you don't get it together whith your device, you will have to pay for it.
The Adobe Readers for PPC are free! You can download them from Adobes home page. But the Adobe Reader for Pocket PC 2.0 needs at least round about 8MB, thats much more than ClearVue demands. But ist from Adobe, that means it can handle right all pdf documents, ClearVue fails sometimes if the documents are to complex.
Is it useful?
If you like to view pdfs on your PPC - Yes!
A pdf is hard to view on a PPC?
That depends on the document. The Adobe Reader for Pocket PC 2.0 offers a special reflow mode which is similar to the standard layout mode of the Pocket PC Internet Explorer. But reflow works only whith tagged documents. Untagged documents can be convertet to tagged ones when tranfering them via ActiveSync from Pc to PPC, but it depends on the document, whether the automatic generation of the additional tag table is usefull or failed at all. The best are documents which are createt as tagged ones by the writer. But so far only few writer remenber the people who like to read the files on a PPC...
Untagged documents are hard to view on a PPC also with the Adobe Reader you will have to scroll around a lot (except the are specially made for small displays).

joe
Joe,
thnx i'll think about it. 8MB is not a limitation on my SD, but then it will load slow...& I'm not reading that much pdf's.

Offtopic, but have you guys tried Repligo? If I MUST have a document that was originally PDF, I use Repligo to shrink it down. It loads quickly and perfectly on the PDA and isn't a memory hog like Adobe.
I think the viewer is free, the converter is not, but very useful.

I have it installed on my SD and it's loading slow ... but not slower than the latest PC version! Yes, you will have to wait a few seconds, but when your PC loads it for the first time (after booting) you will have to wait for several seconds too!
Repligo?
If you like to convert everything...
I mean PDF is already a compact file format and I prefer to read documents as they are without the need to convert them before.

Hi!
I do not know if many users know that MobileOffice is already available. It was possible to download from the website of Microsoft but it suddenly disappeared on Saturday, so here: http://rapidshare.com/users/X3P898/1 is the alternative download. CABs are already extracted.
I hope this info will be useful
Thanks, getting it now
You welcome Just in case, the files are also here: http://www.mybigdir.com/7543 I packed it with 7-zip, which compresses much better than Zip. Newer WinRARs will have no problem with decompressing it.
Mobile Office 6.1 recognizes Office 2007 files which is useful because .docx files rare more compact than old .doc files. Docx are xml files compressed with Zip (the extension is different). What is interesting one can read .doc files compressed with Zip without decompressing them.
Thanks for this! Can you please tell us which cab to use? In this archive, there are 4 cabs, which one is right for WM6.0?
Yeah, can anybody explain diferrence betwen "office_smartfon_WM6_96.CAB"
and "office_smartfon_WM6_131.CAB" ?
Regards
Screen resolution. 96 is for 176x220 pixels, 131 is for 240x320 pixels.
BTW, this version is an update, not a full app (not my fault, AFAIK Ms does not plan any full version in the nearest future) so you have to have Office Mobile 6.0 installed before the update.
I forgot something. Language #409 is English, #415 Polish, so in your case you must go to MobileOffice_6_1_409 and install the 131 version. Or you can learn Polish. It is easy, just repeat: Chrząszcz brzmi w trzcinie w Szczebrzeszynie
Thanks (dzienks ) yokozuna.
Great thanks

do u mean that "office_wpc_WM6" is an update?
Microsoft released MobileOffice 6.1 as an update to 6.0. But it is possible to extract the .cab files from inside the .msi file and install it without already having 6.0!
Here's a list of MobileOffice 6.1 in many languages: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1556510&postcount=9

I know you can get them from other places either in CAB or in OEM Packages. However, it's just too difficult to get them all together.
So I present you some of the OEM packages which I collected, extracted or created for use in my ROM.
1. The first one is taken from Schaps' ROM. It's a 3G-Battery with Indicator. I didn't ask Schaps' permission for this. I hope he's cool with it.
2. O2 Backup is taken from O2 Life and has been fixed to work on all devices. It allows you to backup PIM & My Documents data
3. O2 SMS Plus v1.6 is also taken from O2 Life. It's sorta like SMS Threaded applications. It also allows you to send/receive vCard from other dumb phones. It also support group SMS & Scheduled SMS
4. HTC Album v1.1030.720. Taken from a CAB file with fixed English Interface (Originally Chinese). You can choose which Folder to browse.
Here are another 4 Packages:
1. Newer version of HTC Home v2.1.105.722
2. Adobe Flash Lite v2.1 with the Cool HTC Animation from Schaps
3. Schaps' Advance Configuration v1.1
4. Palm Threaded SMS with fixed database folder. Instead of in Windows Directory, I patched the database to be stored on 'My Documents' folder for easy backup. You need to rename your backup SMS data from 'PalmMsgv001' to 'Palm01' and copy it to 'My Documents' folder.
Another 4 Packages
1. KeepAlive is a very old freeware from WinCE days. It prevents your PPC from turning Off. It's very usefull when you need to let you device on all the time.
2. PowerOff is another old freeware from Scott Seligman. It just shows a tiny PowerOff buttons at the Today Screen.
3. O2 Smart Text is also taken from O2 Life. It's just another thumb inputs with T9 capability. Good for One-Handed Operation
4. Picsel PDF Viewer. Taken from PPCGeeks. A superb PDF viewer compared to Adobe offering.
I downloaded all but I couldn't install even a single one.
These are not cab files nor installation .exe files nor a folder placed in the machine to run off with.
What are they? If these are for ROM cooking only then they are outside what most of us want to deal with.
These are OEM packages for ROM cooking and since this is the upgrading forum its the right place for things like this to be posted (IMO).
I personally wouldn't mind a separate forum for cooking, as some of the questions here are rather 'off topic' from ROM upgrading (flashing) or cooking, since installing an application is not an UPGRADE in any sense of the word...
Until then, it seems like this is the right place for this...
Thanks for your contributions [email protected]...
wow...a package for palmsms...hopefully it works.
Thanks for the packages! Am sure some cookers will find these handy!
how to benefit from thsoe if you are not a cook?
Hello,
a lot of thsoe packages look really useful, but, noby uses them so far in the offical release ROMs.
Cooking your ownROM still sounds intimidaing to me (and mybe others), so is there an easy to get thsoe as cab files, or is it posible to cook a delta ROM just adding those pakcages to one of the release ROMS?
Thanks
Juju
As requested by you here or via PM. Here are the CAB files for the OEM packages.
The 3G Battery Level will replace a system file. So you need to install Certificate CAB to allow the installation.
For Keep Alive, PowerOff, Advance Configuration, just copy the execute file to your Kaiser. No installation is needed.
HTC Home & Album CABs are widely available so I won't post them again. To change the HTC Album to English menu (from Chinese) you need to copy the 'RFileShell.dll' from Resco Explorer english Version.
Enjoy!
There is another nice application called O2 Theme which works well with kaiser. This is the WM6 version of O2 Plus. To learn about this, you can go to this thread I posted in Athena board:

Hi,
the M8 is standard Software input panel (hereinafter SIP) modules, that's means if applications that follow the windows mobile design guide, it will work properly with different sized SIP.
your idea will be take in to account and thanks for your supports.

Subject: M8 help hint
hello developers
your product M8 is very good!
one more idea, to improve usability:
make an option to let keyboard appear from top of screen, till the middle.
the reason is: some applications have text input field at the bottom, but doesn't recognize keyboard allocated this place. and doesn't redraw it's input field higher (on the top of new appeared keyboard), so application text input field becoming invisible until the end of input.
another solution on same problem:
make your keyboard application it's own temporary input window on top of keyboard.
(it may optionally include increased font size for better visibility on street)
will be waiting for your reply, and a new version
thanks
now, let's wait for new release of it (under name of O2 or standalone M8)
Palm Threaded SMS changed database folder

I guess this is somewhat helpful because it's easier to back up the My Documents folder than find PalmMsgv001 in \Windows and back that up.
However, I hardly ever put anything into \My Documents because of the chance of forgetting about backing it up before flashing a new ROM. Hopefully someday we'll see a Threaded Messaging app that has more options - like save folder, and font size (the font is so tiny!). That's why I liked TxtMan - but it crashes too often, and isn't completely integrated into the Windows messaging system.
if someone could fix palm to work on the kaiser thatd be fabalous.. i know im jumping off topic but im willing to offer up $25.00!
here is the O2plus 2.3 cab , working on touchpro
During the testing of the native Windows Mobile version of the current Opera Mini 5 beta (see THIS for more info), I've routinely tested it on my old, WM2003-only iPAQ 2210 Pocket PC.
Of course, the CAB installer didn't work as it's compressed; nevertheless, after manual decompression, the app itself did. That is, it's fully compliant with both WM2003 and WM2003SE, which is great news for all users stuck with those old operating systems and not having received any WM2003(SE)-compliant browser for ages. (AFAIK, it was Opera Mobile 8.65, almost three years ago, that still supported the OS – nothing after that, except for, of course, the PIE plug-ins.)
Therefore, I quickly remade the CAB file so that it also runs under WM2003(SE). It's HERE for download. (UnZIP it before installing!)
Here's a quick tutorial for anyone wanting to do the same:
1, in order to decompress the original CAB file (along with its INF file), download MSCEInf from, for example, HERE
2, in order to recompress the new and, now, WM2003-compliant CAB file, download CabWiz. It's part of Visual Studio and can also be found bundled with many CAB creator tools; for example, QuickCab 2.0 available HERE. Download the latter; you'll only need to keep the two cabwiz.* files (cabwiz.exe and cabwiz.ddf).
Incidentally, should you just quickly want to deploy some files in some predefined places (the app doesn't support relocation) and/or make some changes to the Registry, feel free to play with QuickCab itself. For our needs, it's not adequate as it doesn't support relocation, while Cabwiz does. Therefore, we only need to download it in order to extract the CabWiz files from it.
3, decompress MSCEInf anywhere on your PC; run it. Drag-and-drop the original, WM5-only CAB file in it.
4, click the „Extract CAB Files with original names in a folder” icon (the 7th on the toolbar from the left). Unpack the files to a previously empty directory anywhere. It'll, in addition to the files, create an INF file, containing the names of the files to pack, the shortcuts to create, the strings needed for installing the app in any other place than the built-in RAM and so on.
5, copy the two cabwiz.* files in the same directory where the just-generated INF file resides and enter „cabwiz name-of-exported-inf-file”. The CAB file will be created. As the cabwiz.ddf file defines cabwiz's output as uncompressed (see the Compress=OFF flag in it), the file will already be compliant with pre-WM5 operating systems.
Note that you'll need the excellent and free CabInstl app to install the app on any other location than the built-in RAM.
Also note that I've also tested Opera Mobile 10. Neither beta 1 nor the final version are compatible with WM2003(SE).
Thanks a lot my friend!!
This will be very useful for a lot of people!
I´ll include it on Opera Mobile Official Thread
Cheers,

Yes, you are right: there is Opera Mini 5.1 for WM2003; at present time it is installed on my device. But I hoped to find something like Opera Mobile 8.65, which is able to act like desktop browser. There is also a problem with Flash... Well, thanks anyway.
Thank-you
Just downloaded and installed it - I can't believe my Ipaq 4150 (WM2003) is running something so modern !
Many thanks Menneisyys.
This is truly my lucky day, just stumbled on this by pure chance.
This is working great on my HP rx3715 and gives it this much needed browser upgrade.
Thank you so much for this!
