Hi all,
Searched the forum, but couldn't find an answer, so.. hope someone can help me out.
I use xT9 for writing sms (not on the keyboard)... but when I switch to keyboard, i don't want the xT9, just the abc mode. However, this is not done automaticly (i have to remember to swith to abc mode before opening the keyboard).
Is there any way to automaticly change text-input method when opening/closing the keyboard?
TIA,
Stephen

Hi guys, i just updated my Artemis to use WM6 "[11/11/07] Artemis Touch 3.01 WM6 WWE ROM, 5.2.1921 SDHC (Full, Lite and Vanilla)". And it comes with XT9, which for me.. is REALLY anoying... i really don't use it at all, and since i'm dutch the english words arn't really representive for me.
searched the forum for Xt9 doesn't give me any results, and online i can only find hacks that also disable the shift key or whatever. I can disable it temporarily by changing to one of the other keyboard layouts, choose ABC and then turn to the regular keyboard.. But after a few seconds it will reapear.
Also a site said that alt+spacebar gives you a selection screen to turn it off.. But then again the onscreen keyboard hasn't got a alt key......
So how can i permenantly turn it off, without losing any other functionality?
use sip change that will change the default unput method for the soft keyboard
Hi, AstainHellbring.... I found V1.1 on the forum, but it let's me choose the input method but doesn't allow me to disable xt9..... can't find any newer version.
I've tried every possible trivk and hack, nothing worked! Soft keyboard is not activating "Auto Complete" in any way. I only experience the T9 auto completion but not the usual keyboard.
Is there a bug with T9 or some kinda conflict?
as already been here once and also in the diamond forum, There is no standard auto complete on the handset. The settings are there, cos they are built in to windows mobile, but no dictionary has been added.
the only word completion is using t9!
Hi,
a question about text messages.
Can anyone tell how I automatically get the mobile number in the "to" line? Is it "to" in the English version? In the German it is "an".
I hope you understand what I mean.
In my Vario II I just hit a key and from the contacts the number is automatically filled into the line.
Whatever I tried so far I am not able to do the same in the Raphael.
Thanks for your help.
S.
Just start typing the name of your desired contact, and WM will suggest? Then choose and voila, number is there.
autocomplete for soft keyboard/block recognizer is disabled due to t9. in order to use, you must disable t9.
to disable t9, use something like Advanced Config tool or KaiserTweak or something similar. On the list, look for xt9, and disable and exit. Power off phone and after soft reset, your autocomplete will show when writing some text.
I guess this was a typical solution...

Thanks anyways.
I think I stumbled on one some time ago, but cannot find it any more.
I need to assign an "empty" SIP when I am in my landscape with open keyboard mode, so that no soft keyboard pops-up.
I found a way (I think) to autoassign SIP based on rotation, so now I need the proper empty SIP.
Can someone help?

Does anyone know of a tweak, hack or app that would do the following:
I want to be able to switch more easily between Phone keypad entry with XT9 enabled and QWERTY in ABC mode.
What I mean is that when you come across a word not in the dictionary it’s pretty fiddly to change to ABC and then use your fingernail to call up the change input method screen to QWERTY. I’d like to be able to hit the XT9/ABC toggle and have it automatically switch from Phone keypad to QWERTY at the same time. Another good use would be if you’re merrily typing away in XT9 phone keypad mode and hit the ‘+’ to add a new word to the dictionary – it would be cool if it changed momentarily to QWERTY to allow you to enter the word and then shifted back into XT9/Phone Keypad automatically when finished.
I know it sounds lazy, but I really think this would make the text input much more ergonomic.
Any ideas?
no-one? Seriously?
I wonder is this in the wrong forum??
*bumpety bump*
google nusipstylus.
that will do the trick.
When you pull out the stylus you can enter on a full keyboard and when you put the stylus back in you get the htc keyboard.
here it is...
Hi
Thanks a million for the response.
However, I've found that app made my device agonisingly slow.
In any case, I think this is somewhat of a retrograde step. I was actually after someone to mod the HTC keyboards to just allow a quick toggle between XT9 and ABC that would default back after you hit the space key.
I really appreciate you taking the time to send me the .cab, but I'm afraid it's not quite what I was looking for.
Hi everybody!
I'm actually using Dutty's HolyGrail R1 Rom for topaz, and for a long time (since original rom) I've been looking for a way to get rid of all the autocomplete and xT9 services on my TD2. The only thing I want is to freely type whatever I want without any kind of suggestions or corrections . I've tried the Advanced Configuration Tools to tweak this unsuccessfully. Does anyone knows how to do it?
Why not pressing the little XT9/ABC button on your device's keyboard and put the device in ABC mode? In that mode the topaz displays exactly whatever you type..
yea but this does not disable button, i want to disable button that it will be always in ABC mode, even if i press that button again, something like keyboard look when you type "To:" field (XT9 ABC) button is disabled...
Hi there
Have you tried using the Text Input Settings that you can find if you touch the Up arrow next to the Text Input Selector available whenever you can input text, ie, SMS or email entry?
You get a pop up menu which has Text Input Settings as an option. If you select that you get an options dialog that has a heading 'XT9 Settings' one of which is 'Word Completion (XT9)' with an On/Off slider button. Toggle this to Off and you should find that when the keyboard is presented you are now set in ABC mode with no option to toggle into XT9 mod.
Should point out that I am running a standard ROM with Manila 2.1.
Hope that helps?
