Window Mobile Device Center Problem...I need Your Help!!!

I have a very strange problem here...i was using the Jwright WM6 rom till this morning with no sccuess in getting it to connect to my Vista laptop by all means...the only thing i could do is to connect to my desktop pc which has Windows XP & it connects succefully...so i thaught it's something related to the crossbow not being compatible with vista WMDC
Till this morning a friend came to me with his Universal running Jwright 1.90.96 WM5 to install a program so i connected to the Vista WMDC & it worked like a charm...so i downgraded mine to the same WM5 version he is running & i was shocked when it didn't connect & kept trying to connect till it gave me red error sign with no explanation
I used the same USB port, the same original cable on the same laptop under the same windows user...
Any explanation for that????!!!
I really need to sync with my vista laptop as it's my main PC at both work & home...

Have you updated WMDC from beta3, coz that has sorted alot of problems.If yes, try creating another user account, or try logging in as an admin, and connect wm device from there.
otherwise, REINSTALL VISTA, sorry to tell you that, but this is the easiest and the quickest way some times. and i mean it...

What kind of built of Vista are you running?

i have updated to the latest WMDC version available on the microsoft site after removing the one that originally came with the windows as instructed by microsoft...i also tried creating another admin account & still no success !!!
this morning i tried to remove & reinstall the WMDC but still nothing changed..i hope that i won't be forced to reinstall Vista again as this is a very painful option to me after the mass amount of programs i have installed!!!

Why Is Vista not letting me flash my rom

I've flashed roms on my phone before before I had Vista...and now I can't! It always says that a problem has occurred during the process!
Plz help!

winVista still has some driver incompatibility,it requires some driver updates.Although,some guys have flashed via vista but used VMWare Workstation 6 .Others downloaded drivers from microsoft site to update the vista drivers and flashed,but still multiple problems have been reported afterwards while upgrading/downgrading,therefore,it's always better and recommended to flash in WinXP SP2.

I can vouch for VMware Work Station 6(with winxp virtualized),
I've used it just last week to flash my G4 wizard with Blackdiamond 3.0 using G4 Soft spl

Noticed this same thing when using my dads laptop with Vista Home Premium to flash a Rom to my phone. It wouldn't work at all... It actually gave me an error message telling me to upgrade my drivers but that was all. It said Drivers Incompatible. Please Update.
I just let it alone and went back to my girlfriends laptop to fix my phone.

Not sure if your searching ever led to this thread where sp3dev explains his steps that work for me every single time; ( i don't have to repeat step 1 obviously )
1. install the correct usb drivers ( see original thread or in my attachment )
2. disable "usb connections" in wmdc
3. put device in bootloader ( camera+side+reset ) & attach device
4. kill wmdc.exe process
5. use the correct RUU util ( i attached one that works for me )

Wizard Products can't flash on Windows Vista.
I using Vista but installed VMware Machine 6.0 and install WinXP on this VM and good work.

Question here is not that 'It can be done or can't be done ?',read my post where I said yes,guys have done it and are doing,but it requires some driver updates and some have done through VMWare,the only thing is that instead of going through all that updates and launching Vitual Machine process and as there has been reported problems afterward, "IS IT WORTH TO UNDER GO ALL THAT TROUBLE" when it's simpler and effortless to upgrade through WinXP ?

Activesync for Vista

hie guys!
i need your help urgently!!!
I am just got another pc using vista, but i encountered a problem during installing activesync 4.5. When i wanted to run the program, it came out a warning windows saying that the program is block by due to certain reason, and it offer me solve it by downloading a program from a windows web. tried to download it and install it, but still the same problem occurs.
Anyone could help me to solve this??
Another problem, is there any solution if i use mac, and wanted to upgrade my rom from mac? thanks in advance...

for Vista you need Microsofts Mobile Device Center

^^ He's right and by default (On most Vista Machines) it should be already installed. So just try to plug in your phone and it should detect and install automatically.

Thats right starmena, but with the standard software that comes with Vista, you just can access your files on the Phone and the storage card. You are not able to install apps and sync your contacts, emails, and stuff.

i agreed with some of the reply, the one that is pre-installed on the vista, cant use it to upgrade rom and other. is there any solution to it?

Bepe's BuildOS doesn't work anymore

Hi, can anybody Help me
I have a kitchen using Bepe's BuildOS.exe but I always get a error massage (see Attachment) I think WindowsXP Update made something defect.
I tried it on a Win7 system before it never works with Win7 but now it also won't work with WinXP
does anybody know anything about it ?

first have u install visual library and 3.5 net framework?
install your kitchen in drive u have already installed xp...
try to build a fresh kitchen in that drive..

W7 PC:
Installed both vbrun60sp6.exe and Netframework3.5
Doesen't work
XP PC:
It worked 2 or three weeks ago. So why should I install something else.
Ok I did it but nothing changed It doesn't work any more.

how many times do u think i installed and reinstall my kitchen and also xp?

[Q] Can't install Kies.

I have a problem with Kies, I've searched around the site but couldn't an answer.
The thing is, I download Kies from the samsung site, and when I open the .exe, I see a green bar and after that it disappears and the installer never opens.
I have Windows XP x64 bit.

do you have a download manager?
It's possibly the download didn't complete properly or is corrupt in some way. I would download again using a download manager (downthemall) is a popular firefox add-on
Failing that try obtaining the installer from a different site, and/or possibly try a different version
Edit: windows XP x64 is a pretty bad version of windows to be on (its not really 64bit) I would suggest upgrading your operating system at some stage

I just installed downthemall and downloaded Kies again, but the same thing happened. The installer won't open.
I've already tried downloading the installer from a different site but the same thing happened.
I have no idea what's the issue here.
Yeah I was planning to update it to windows 7 but I don't know when, I don't like much the way it looks

There are a lot of program compatibility issues with windows xp 64, I would say install on any other machine and it will work

just because its 63 1/2 bit doesnt mean you needs another computer, as i have win xp (almost) (64BiT) as well and ,win 7 on my laptop and regular win xp 32.5 bit and none WORK WITH KIES! ITS SAMSUNG JUST FACE THE TRUTH AND DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A NEW OS JUST TO BE VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED, if their are any compatibility issues they are due to programs not being "MADE" compatible with it. besides i would rather be the one compatible with my computer then my apps

Sorry for bringing this thread back to life, but I have a similar problem with KIES, only mine says that my pc is not connected to the internet!!!! OF course it doesn't take into account that I'm posting this as we speak.... Of all the problems an installation could face, internet connection is the one that messes with it?!
Does anyone have a solution?

i tried some months ago to install kies drivers and in my win7 64bit i don't have any problems
but i tried kies programs only first time, then i deleted it.
some days ago i get cyanogenmod to delete jellymod that have a lot of problems, also via usb ( i can't get files to my computer that appear a pop up of windows that says my devices is going off... too strange
anyway i nned to try now with cyano, if i have the same pop up, i guess is a usb cable, or another problem that i need to find and resolve...

try to run the program in capability mode start menu, programs right click and run capability mode

Hey, and you checked the kies is compatible with windows xp 64 bit? With Windows 7 is definitely the xp but it is better to check.

I know that is a old post but for information, you could found drivers for xp 64 here without install kies ...
1. Download this files : .h.t.t.p.://drivers.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownload.php/09b2d4250aff0de1122d5694682c3b08/550736e3/179b5/4/1
2. Unzip it on destop for exemple.
3. run "Setup.exe" in the forlder "USB drivers"
4. enjoys, it works for me with a samsung S5830 ..
