Orbit2-- GPS cannot be detected with IGO PLS HELP?!?!?
I have a HUGE problem with getting my GPS running on my Orbit2. It came from O2 with CoPilot7 preinstalled with the maps of UK and Ireland, which I dont use, because I am not located inthere, nevertheless Copilot detects GPS signal and shows positioning, but i dint have the maps for the area that i am in.
I tried to install IGO6 and then IGO8 but I have the same problem-- it cannot detect GPS device, no matter what which COMM Port and BAUD Rate I select.
How come CoPilot detects, and IGO does not? I read that Orbit2 is not locked?!?
Should I boot the whole device using some other ROM.

Why are you doing multiple posts?

Have not had any GPS software that didn't work with correct settings yet.
though i haven't testet IGO. But why shouldn't it work also?
Correct settings for internal Orbit2 GPS device is: Com4, 4800 Baud.

All recent versions of iGO work whith settings defined, and on aoutoconfig...

Are you sure that you have the correct port address in the igo? I sometime have to set it myself in tomtom if its having a off day, but only happens 1 in 1,000,000 times
IGO has an option to search all ports ...and it can not find anything...
I think that is a problem with the GPS settings from Settings->Connection->GPS from WM6...

Igo won't find your GPS, just go to GPS Settings in IGO, choose the port which you set for your GPS, outgoing port. Set the speed to 57600, turn your GPS receiver off and on, now it will connect....
Don't forget to turn on Bluetooth, Igo won't do this like TT does.

Don't use warez only original software ...
Then you will have no problems.

MY AT&T Tilt GPS stop working [HELP A.S.A.P.]

Hi, I need some help with my phone I have an AT&T Tilt and here is my current setting ROM Version: 1.62.502, ROM date 01/17/08, Radio Version 1.27.14.19, and Protocol Version 22.45.88.07H. My GPS have stop working not sure why every time when i click on the external GPS and when I try to put the COM port for the hard ware it does not work. Can someone help me out please I would really like to get my GPS working again. I been asking around for help but nothing has been working yet.
Why did you even touch EXTERNAL GPS?
anyway
first, select COM4
second tab put (NONE) as hardware port and baudrate at 4800
and the last tab put it on automatic
(Start -> Settings -> Connections -> External GPS)
Wasn't it once you have it thw rong setting you need to soft-reset or hard-reset the deviecE?
Hi the AT&T Tilt has a build in GPS it was working just fine but if I put the program as COM4 and the Hardware as NONE and the baud rate 4800 then how does the TOM TOM know what setting to pick. I been having a hard time to find out how to make my tom tom to work
Try using GPStest and uping the baud rate. Changing settings for EXTERNAL GPS will make no difference when you have an internal GPS. And the cab to GPStest is in my signature. And if you are running TomTom most of the time you will need to run GPStest first and let it get a fix and then run TomTom.
in TomTom you select "Other GPS" or "Integrated/build-in GPS"
then select COM4 when asked.
Ok HI I am a bit lost so what do I do KDKobes what is that porgram about GPStest. I just selest the build in GPS receiver and tom tom can't find any signal for like 5 min.
Hi, KDKobes after I ran the GPS test program it say that the GPS setting is COM4 and the Baud Rate is 9600 so why would they have an External GPS with an hard ware port that does not work any more.

They have the External GPS option for people who want to use an external one, tend to get better signal. Also used for if you want to hook into your computer. Just remember some radio's work best at different baud rates. After changing the baud rate its best to restart the phone. Not sure what radio you are using, but most of the time 38400 or 19200 baud rates are best.

Vodafone TP no GPS

Have just got my TP on Vodafone UK, it does not have GPS enabled, is there any way I can enable it
What do you mean? There is no GPS in Start -> Settings?
Anyway try this "must have" tool from schaps so you can manage a lot of settings, GPS included.

IF I load TomTom 6, it can not fin the internal GPS, I can connect to an external GPS via Bluetooth
Sounds to me like you've got the version of tomtom that doesn't have the option of choosing the internal GPS.
Download GPSTest to see whether the GPS is automatically detected.
can i suggest u try gps test n see what that does
also try it with google maps
i think this might be a handset fault tho cant see why it would be disabled as its a selling point
Im 99% sure that TT6 doesnt support internal GPS modules, had the same problem with my N95....or come to think of it was that TT5? Hmmmm im not so sure now lol...
TT6 worked fine on my MDAC3 with internal GPS.
Funnily enough, the Voda specs page makes no mention of GPS at all

have you tried Other NMEA GPS-reciever, baudrate 4800, COM4 already?
NO GPS
Your right vodafone does not show GPS
Have tried it with Google Maps and will try it with GPStest this evening.
Spoke to Vodafone are going to send another handset
have also tried Other NMEA GPS-reciever, baudrate 4800, COM4
I have a Vodafone handset and thought the same as you.
It does have a GPS and it does work with TOMTOM 6.
1. Go to programs and slect quickgps and download.
Then go into tomtom and under showgps satus select configure and choose other NMEA GPS, slect baud rate 57600 and then load a destination.
Make sure you are outside tho and it might take 25 mins to get your first ever fix.
Mine connects within seconds now.
Good luck and let me know if I can help you further.
Could someone post the link to the Tom Tom 6 or 7 cab file for the Touch Pro?
Thanks

Neil

The traffic subscription is registered to your account, therefore it will work on version 6 or version 7. However, your maps (6.75?) will not work with tomtom 7, but you can purchase new maps from tomtom home as the touch pro is now recognised by the tomtom home application (version 2.4 or above)

I'm also facing a similar problem. Google Maps is unable to detect the internal gps receiver.
When I run, GPS Test, it just shows the GPS starting up message (with 2 yellow bars, sometimes only one). I have run quick gps and downloaded the satellite data twice already.
Can somebody please help me?

Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 - Problems with TomTom internal GPS

Hi @ all,
first of all a happy new year
I wonder if anyone has the Omnia B7330 running with TomTom 7 on it. I have the problem that TomTom doesn't find the internal GPS. I tried all possible settings with
"internal GPS"
" other NMEA GPS"
and all possible Baud rates and com Ports
but TomTom does not find the internal GPS.
In the meantime I wonder if perhaps the internal GPS might be damaged and I should send the device back??
On my HTC Snap (Maple) TomTom recognizes the internal GPS immediately.
I als tried to manage something concerning "Port Splitter", but most of these programs are not for WM without touchscreen....
Any ideas how to get this working?
Best Regards
Jolig
Hi, if you want to know if your device is working or not, try GPS Test 1.04. There is a cab file for it, "google is your friend" as they say. 8) If you run the program (it is good for non-touchscreens as well) and it can find a signal, then you have to fine tune your navigation software, if no signal, then you have a faulty device.
Happy New Year!
Welcome to forums
Hope this helps:

Same Thing here...
...the Testapp recognizes the GPS on COM3 with 9600Baud and can work with it. The GPS Module seems to be working well, found my position after 10secs. TomTom however can't work with the GPS-Module... I'm on TomTom 7.910.
Any idea?
JC
Try this
-----Omnia Configuration-----
Settings\Hardware\External GPS
*GPS program port: COM2
*GPS hardware port: COM9
- Baud Rate: 9600
*Manage GPS automatically: YES
------Tomtom Configuration-----
*GPS NMEA
*Baud rate 4800
*COM2
IMPORTANT
When you make all the steps you have to see in the Satellites top/right windows of the tomtom a little Yellow/Black ball rolling, that means the GPS is working. You only have to wait to your Omnia GPS find the signal.
-> You can download an XTRA GPS DATA to improve the finding speed of the GPS, personally I can not see the diference between NO XTRA DATA and XTRA DATA.
Settings\Hardware\Enchanced GPS
*Enable XTRA DATA CONNECTION
*Disable automatically download.
*Press download button
With that configuration in my omnia I don't have any problem with Tomtom.
The Testapp also recognizes the GPS on COM3 on my B7330.
But it dosen't work on TomTom 7.910.
Is there a way to change the GPS to use COM2 ?
tom tom
Hello!
Do this:
use another phone with touch screen, set the tom tom gps as an external port and the appropriate speed,
save your settings. fire up tomtom on omni pro b-7330.
Can you type the addresses correctly? I had a problem with another phone with qwerty by tomtom7.
Erroneous indication of gps in omni pro B-7330 / no fix
Erroneous indication of gps in omni pro B-7330 / no fix
I need help, my gps in the B-7330 incorrectly indicates the distance of some 400km,
Is it a bug?
after uploading the google maps, fix grabs for a few seconds, and incorrectly states the place automapa (another program to navigation) also indicates the wrong place but other than google maps, the difference of some 1000km.,
I used GPSTEST 1.04:
COM3: 9600kb.
Is it firmware bug, or damage is hard?
using the settings from the post in advance Com9: omnia has gps pro, but did not catch the fix - no signal satleitów.
So, are you sure the port Com9?
So I need help
You should try posting on the proper section for this non HTC device:

TomTom is pants on the 7330.
I'm using Route 66 (v7) with UK and Europe maps. GPS can be interigated through the menu and cold fix is quicker than most I've used.
No GPS lag, and other than the soft button icons sitting above the call and call end buttons (can cause confusion), I would recommend going down this route instread (no pun intended)
Also strangely, the 'browse map' facility is managed through the 'zoom to' function.
Alan.
