Recently I had to hard reset my phone.. so I thought since I'm hard resetting anyways, why not try a new ROM..
So I installed the new ROM and there seems to be some of the stuff doesn't seem to work.. so I had a sprite backup when I had my old ROM.. but now I have a different ROM.. will it be okay if I restored my backup with my old ROM? or is that a bad idea?
anyone????

Hello Everyone,
I'm plannig to upgrade my Qtek S200 to the latest WWE rom. I've already upgraded once when I first bought the S200 to a DOPOD rom, but remember that everything had to be re-installed (which was not a problem then sice I had very few things). I have the S200 for some time now and would not like to reinstall everything, does anybody know if this is possible? I use spb backup, would it be possible to restore eveything once upgraded?
Thanks for any answer that might come
U can use sprite backup. It has a utility to upgrade. I always use it and it does work perfectly.

Not with SPB, Sprite Backup is the only backup application that can restore after a ROM upgrade. If you are using Sprite Backup make sure you read this faq first before you upgrade your ROM as you will need to capture the .sbu file on the old ROM

Thanks for your help, I bought sprite backup and I will give it a go. One last thing, the FAQ is mentioning that all the POP accounts need to be deleted, how do I migrate my mail?

POP accounts are linked to a device identifier thus they cannot be restored to a new device or ROM using upgrade mode. All other mail is fine. So make sure you delete the POP accounts before backup

Hello All,
Is there a program/procedure to backup the fav people on the manila screen without adding them back after every ROM flashing?
Thanks!
Hi.
After i flashed a new Rom i used PimBackup to restore. After restore i have all my Peoples in People Tab. Or try MyPhone from Microsoft. After restoring with it i have my Peoples back too.

So what exactly did you do that 'sorted' the problem Duffy?
Backup programs such as Sprite are self-extracting., in that you don't need the program installed to run the restore operation.
Hey guys, just wanna say, i'm a big fan of this community and its things like XDA that make the Internet the irreplaceable tool that it is.
Just have a quick question. I have noticed that CWM recovery has an option to just restore the DATA partition of a previous NAND backup. If i were to restore an ICS data partition from one ICS ROM to another ICS ROM from another dev, would it mess up the normal functioning of the phone?
Thanks for responses.
Yes it would, most likely not a good idea. Doing that is the same as not wiping between flashes, so it might work, but not very well.

Agree^
You could still try but if you so make a fresh backup first lol
If it does anything like what titanium backup does when you restore system data then it will probably just bung stuff up but I can't say for sure cause I haven't tried it
Pin it to Win it.
