then I know why
because I'm save the name with a short form number
(short form) 3456789
but if I use the long form I will see the name
(long form) (+012) 3456789
really I don't want to change all my numbers to the long form
my old BA shows the name with the short form

Go to Contacts -> then Menu -> Options then area code. but this almost seems like a very US centric setting, again maybe due to regional settings.
So I understand your problem correctly, for a Kuwait number
+965-555-1234 you want to be able to just use 555-1234 without the country code? I don't think there are area codes in Kuwait just country codes correct.

I have just tried to enter a postcode into a contacts address but the only field is zipcode and it has the field locked to numbers, you cannot even paste a postcode into the field, is this a region issue I cannot find an option to change this but any setting I have in the phone are English (UK)
Not spotted this but you're correct
For now until this is fixed, hopefully, if contacts are entered in outlook and synced then the postcode will transfer ok.

I agree with you as I generally enter details into phone and then sync to outlook when home........... now it's back to pen and paper when I'm out!!!!!!

i cant type in a post code apparently this is a common fault when i rang htc he found the fault to however he used the word "feature" and then said we may fix it if it is important... i said i type in 2 addresses a day i need to be able to type a post code as i have 2000 names and addresses in my phone
Not being able to enter a postcode is an annoying bug for a UK phone. You'd have thought that would have been picked up in testing. Guess I'll have to enter postcodes via GMail in a browser for now.

Is this a joke??? "may fix it if it is important"?? I use my phone to enter contacts all the time and these then sync OTA to Outlook. It is an essential feature for me. If this doesn't work there is no way I'm getting this phone.
I think that in this situation complaining directly to Vodafone is the best solution and also opening a thread on their forums. People in other countries can do the same with Vodafaone/their local carrier. The carriers will then take it up with HTC and I expect that it will be fixed.

Not got the phone yet (b'day at the end of June so have to wait a bit ... ) but tested this on my Desire HD and the People app on this allows you to add a UK post code (though it calls it a zip code - doh! ). I'm on 2.3.3 and fail to see why you can't do it from a software point of view. Have they never heard of code re-use?
Still, 99.99% of my contacts are sync'ed from Outlook so no problems. Can you not add the post code as a note and edit it back in Outlook later to "work around" the issue for now? It does peeve me when 'localised' apps aren't really localised at all, just, for the UK anyway, a variation of the US version. Null points!

The field is locked I tried copy and paste but only the numbers appeared the letters were omitted.
I just updated my phone to 7720 from beta 2. However Bing Vision by default isn't working. I have to go to regions and change the search locale to USA.
I was under the impression that UK was one of the regions where bing services would work?
Well, US here. Bing vision works fine for me.
I'm in the USA and it works great on my Samsung Focus 1.3, on official mango and Samsung update.
As a UK user, I only get the option to scan QR codes and Microsoft Tags! What happened all the other stuff advertised!?!

Same here man...only at the bottom,only got scan text and history...it's not cool...
the barcodes and book cover are not working,and no apps integration.

Sorry for the trouble you're having in the UK. In the US, it is AMAZING. Point it at a book or DVD cover, and within 3 seconds it gives you a link to find the product. Same with bar codes.
Simply go to settings -> region and language -> scroll all the way down to "Browser and search language" (don't know if it's really called that way, I'm just translating it from German). Change it to "English (USA)" and you're all set for Local Scout and full Bing Vision.

It does work as a showcase feature, but I wish we had the results for the stores in the UK.

The number will be formatted something like XXX-XXX-XXX
Is there any method available to remove the separator from the number.
I need to get the number like XXXXXXXXX (without hyphen)

The way of displaying a number is particular for a language. If you change the language, the phone numbers will be displayed in a different way, as it is normal for that culture. So basically, if you use US English, the phone numbers will be displayed as they would be in US, thought maybe you phone numbers don't have the same amount of digits. This will make reading the number harder.
Some ROM's allow the user to set the culture and the language separately, you might try and see if your ROM supports that.

Settings >> Call >> Home Dialing Settings >> "No, Use Original Number"

can someone help me understand why i see additional date/month in my notification panel? i've been searching for sometime now but with no luck, i am in egypt and this is the office stock software, i made sure that i have no other calendars pointing to any secoundry calendar, but still i cant get ride of that extra date, can someone assist me please?

i changed that to manual, i tried also to change the regien and reboot the device, its not fixing anything becide missing my clock

i removed my sim now, and the device is still showing signal icon even after reboot, as if i have a sim card is in there, not sure how is that posible ??? i checked sim card manager and no sim is activated in there.

Update*
i reached out to samsung support and they said that its known issue for Note 20 Ultra devices and they are escalating that
I also have the same issue, i made sure to check my settings, language, calendar settings and app. But it still shows the alternate calendar.
Seems it really is a bug and needs a software update.

N985FOXM1ATI2 is realeased, i installed it and reset my device after the update, same issue i can still see the secoundry calendar

all calendars are not selected, i even removed them from google calendar webview, it still not fixing the problem.
