Just a FYI to all the frustrated Parrot kit users out there
I have my HTC Touch Cruise running WM6 paired to a Parrot 3400-GPS and two other Parrot 3200-LS (in 2 other cars).
I am using the Jetware Mobile extension software on my TC as well as the Microsoft Voicecommander v 1.6
Prior to using the TC with WM6, I had used a Samsung SCH-i730 with WM5. This setup worked very well.
Since the upgrade to the new phone (HTC TC with WM6), I have had major problems with the Parrot kits. So much so,as to have rendered the car kits unusable. These issues have certainly been well described in multiple posts by many people in many different forums and websites.
Parrot recently released a new version of their software viz. Version 2.11b.
I applied the software update to both 3200-LS kits and also to the 3400-GPS kit.
Since having upgraded the Parrot kits to the new software version, they have worked flawlessly. In fact they are now working way better than even the initial i730/WM5 setup that I had originally used.
I am also now able to voicedial using the Parrot buttons and VC1.6.
I am once again a happy Parrot user.

I wish I could say the same, but I am still having some problems with my touch cruise in combination with the 3200-LS (latest software). Do you have any pointers maybe?

What's the cheapest XDA with microsoft bluetooth stack?
Thanks.
Take your pick of the WM5 devices.
Or get an older HTC Himalaya (O2 XDA2, T-Mobile MDA2, Orange SPV M1000, qtek 2020, i-mate PDA) and flash it with WM5.
I think some devices can be hacked just for the BT drivers, but it's not something I have ever needed to try.
also himalaya devices come with ms bluetooth stack to begin with
Are you sure? I have had both an O2 XDA2, and an Orange SPV M1000 and both used the Widcom stack.
Thanks, but these PDAs are not cheap(more than 300 GBP). Any cheaper device?
Unless you buy one second hand, you will not get a PPC Phone SIM free for less than £300 unless you get a very old model, and replace the bluetooth stack yourself.
Out of interest, why does it have to have the MS BT stack?
installed the vidcomm stack on my qtek2020 once but the ms stack was still there
this is the first i've ever heard about himalaya devices not default comming with ms bluetooth stack
heard lots of lots of people having issues getting vidcomm working ok on himalaya mainly headsets and such
p.s. CEO well your thread name said XDA's so i guess people believed that it would be pda's from HTC / o2
Choose MS stack just for easy programming.
I don't want the phone function, just want a basic PDA.
Well why not just get a PocketPC then, as opposed to an XDA style device?
There are lots of them to choose from. HP and Dell both have low end devices with BT running WM5 that use the Microsoft stack.
Just got a new car mp3 player with bluetooth support. Cost a bomb but risked buying it because it said on the Pioneer website it was compatable with the s100.
However, I cant get the player to recognise the phone so I really need to change this Orange M500 into a Qtek s100!
I have no idea how to do this, where to download the rom from etc.
Can someone please point me in the right direction.
Many Thanks in Advance,
debully
Everything you need for the update is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=46628 though I would be surprised this solves your problem. The S100 & M500 are both Magician so same hardware.
What's your radio version (of your magician of course :! & what attempts in pairing your magician with the pioneer have you made?
M
Hi,
My:
ROM is 1.06.00 WWE
Radio 1.05.10
The attempts at pairing are EXACTLY in accordance to the Pioneer user manual. It's worth noting that the Pioneer successfully pairs with a Samsumg D500 so this rules out the possiblility of a faulty unit.
At least if I have an S100 rom installed (which is in the compatability list) and still can't get it to pair I can RMA it or contact Pioneer c/s.
Thanks for help,
debully
You still can try Radio 1.12 or 1.13 & a newer rom. I'm very pleased with the 1.13.
I assume you've set BT to 'discoverable' on your magician?
& yes this would be a good point to ask the shop or Pioneer for help. As they state it should work it's time for them to show how.
Success, M
BTW does your magician pair correctly with other devices?
Been tearing my hair out with this one all days.
Works and pairs great with every other phone I can lay my hands on:
D500, C500, C600, various Noks.
But just wont find the bleeding m500. The m500 can find it, but not the other way round. Just wont pair.
Successfully installed the s100 rom - many thanks for patiently pointing me towards the sticky's that were glaring me in the face.
Tried a couple of b/t stacks, Toshiba (would not work) BlueSoliel etc. Still no good.
This is the link to the compatability table on the Pioneer site:
http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/campaign/support/bluetoothCompatibility.html
I've gotta get in touch to find out exactly how they managed to pair these 2 devices.
Anyone know if I'd have more luck with a Prophet based machine as it's likely I could buy-out my contract with Orange and flog the M500 on ebay and take out a new contract with an M600.
Many thanks for your help,
debullu
Specs sheet from Pioneer looks fine. Have you tried radio versions 1.12 or 1.13? With the latest BT patches that came in the 1.13 ext-rom?
Still best advice is, like you say yourself too, go back to the shop & have them prove the compatibility.
Success, M
Tried all the roms now upto 1.13 and all the radios upto 1.13.
Tried all the b/t stacks and addons I can find.
Still, the Pioneer head unit will not recognise or pair with the Magaician.
Looks like I'll have to get a new phone/ppc.
Damn,
debully.
Man that's terrible, couldn't the store where you bought offer some help? You got it for it's BT capabilities & now you got nothing, tried to return it?

HI,
Is anyone using a handsfree kit for the HTC S710
I was looking at a Parrot CK3000-Evolution. see link below for Halfords advert:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...logId=10151&productId=240407&categoryId=79852
Does anyone know of any problems
Thanks
Sorry, I know a "me too" reply is a little useless for you so I'll try and add a little more than that
I'm interesed in this too but I'm concerned that it may be effected by the whole Bluetooth DUN (or lack of) thing on the S710. I'm using a Vodafone v1415 as opposed to an HTC S710 and as yet have not been able to re-enable the BT DUN.
Aren't Vodafone wanderful!!
Can anyone give any indication if BT car kits in general work with BT PAN or do they need DUN??
I have a 2004 BMW 3series with an integrated bluetooth carkit. Unfortunately I cannot get the connection with my HTC s740 working. The phone recognizes the car and connects. But not vice versa. The dealer thinks the software in the HTC is too advanced. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I downgrade the bluetooth software of the phone? In my former car I had a Parrot which worked perfectly with the HTC. Unfortunately I sold the Parrot with the car.
Thanks for helping me out!
What rom are you using?
I have an issue with my HD and TOuch Cruise on 6.1, although using 6.5 on my Cruise works fine??
It is reported that cooked 6.1 roms dont like connecting to car bluetooth kits.
Im still looking for a solution to this, probably to do with bluetooth stack/drivers.
bluetooth problems HTC s740 to BMW
If you mean the ROM of my HTC, it is. 5.2(.20279.20279). It is a 2008 smartphone.
Do I need to upgrade the phone?
lol is that a cooked rom or stock? if cooked, see this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=519676
I know its not much help, but you will appreciate that things are happening.
To be honest; I have no idea what you mean. What is the difference, and how I am I about to know. I didn't change anything on the phone, after buying it........
Hey bro,
If you have no idea what rom you are using, u will be using stock rom.
Stock = offical HTC rome included with device.
Cooked = another/different rom, not originally intended for use on ur device, or provided by HTC. A cooked rom has been "altered" to work on ur device. They work better and faster and provide more functionality than stock roms.............
It would appear that bluetooth is a problem with all 6.1 roms (cooked or stock!!)
ok, time to complain to HTC (for what good it wil make)
I may merge these threads into one, as they are related.
Hi all I have just found my old XDA2 which has been lurking in my desk for a couple of years now with little or no use and I was wondering how I can install a later more stable OS like the newer windows etc.......I have a newer N96 which I have been using which does my phone needs but would like to make use of the XDA2 for business contacts etc and surfing the web.
Where can I download the latest windows os?
Thanks in advance
Lee
Assuming it is an XDA II, aka Himalaya, search here for newer ROMs and other goodies, Himalaya sub-forum
I have an old XDA II running WM6.1 which i use for test purposes and its fine.
