Hands free kit for the HTC S710 - HTC Vox

HI,
Is anyone using a handsfree kit for the HTC S710
I was looking at a Parrot CK3000-Evolution. see link below for Halfords advert:
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...logId=10151&productId=240407&categoryId=79852
Does anyone know of any problems
Thanks

Sorry, I know a "me too" reply is a little useless for you so I'll try and add a little more than that
I'm interesed in this too but I'm concerned that it may be effected by the whole Bluetooth DUN (or lack of) thing on the S710. I'm using a Vodafone v1415 as opposed to an HTC S710 and as yet have not been able to re-enable the BT DUN.
Aren't Vodafone wanderful!!
Can anyone give any indication if BT car kits in general work with BT PAN or do they need DUN??

Car Kit?

Anyone using the original O2 Car Kit? Are are the other, potentially better kits around? I want to use my XDA II as a navigation system and look for the best package...
Just as a note: TomTom is not an option since it doesn't help me much in Down Under...
There is a carkit with XDA II option at http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BD-SMGF1XDAII which accepts GPS interface. I have been looking at it trying to decide but have not bought yet. I'm currently in Malaysia but will be returning to Oz later this year. What GPS software/hardware are you using and what maps are supported?
Ed
I'm using the original O2 car kit with my XDA - It is decent although it was the only one available here and does not have an option for a handset and I can't figure out how any thing else could be added to it.

Click to collapse
Haven't bought a GPS system yet... I look at both TRAVROUTE and DESTINATOR... so far DESTINATOR look better, is more expensive and I haven't figured out if it will work with Bluetooth... but it's early days for me.
Interesting thing, this SEIDIO. Haven't seen it before and looks pretty decent...
Question: Can I connect the GPS in a way that is uses the car speakers? I would also like to have that for phone usage?
T-mobile carkit, comes with sat-nav
Do you know where to buy this kit with sat-nav from T-Mobile? Does it include North American maps?
sat-nav is a german navigation software (correct me if i am wrong)
you get the software without maps, if you wish to navigate you buy a route with a small map and download it through your pda/gsm/gprs.
Anybody has any idea where it can be purchases? I am talking about car kit (with sat-nav) by it self?
Appeciate for any linking information
Expansys has the original in stock now. Experiences out there?
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=109748
that is not an original kit for the xda2

ASK:What's the cheapest XDA with microsoft bluetooth stack?

What's the cheapest XDA with microsoft bluetooth stack?
Thanks.
Take your pick of the WM5 devices.
Or get an older HTC Himalaya (O2 XDA2, T-Mobile MDA2, Orange SPV M1000, qtek 2020, i-mate PDA) and flash it with WM5.
I think some devices can be hacked just for the BT drivers, but it's not something I have ever needed to try.
also himalaya devices come with ms bluetooth stack to begin with
Are you sure? I have had both an O2 XDA2, and an Orange SPV M1000 and both used the Widcom stack.
Thanks, but these PDAs are not cheap(more than 300 GBP). Any cheaper device?
Unless you buy one second hand, you will not get a PPC Phone SIM free for less than £300 unless you get a very old model, and replace the bluetooth stack yourself.
Out of interest, why does it have to have the MS BT stack?
installed the vidcomm stack on my qtek2020 once but the ms stack was still there
this is the first i've ever heard about himalaya devices not default comming with ms bluetooth stack
heard lots of lots of people having issues getting vidcomm working ok on himalaya mainly headsets and such
p.s. CEO well your thread name said XDA's so i guess people believed that it would be pda's from HTC / o2
Choose MS stack just for easy programming.
I don't want the phone function, just want a basic PDA.
Well why not just get a PocketPC then, as opposed to an XDA style device?
There are lots of them to choose from. HP and Dell both have low end devices with BT running WM5 that use the Microsoft stack.

I'm also be very interested
But it looks like there's no chance for it without a 3rd party app...
Have a look at http://www.gpsmeter.com/index.php?page=portsplitter or consider Fransons GPS ate - Mike
Looks Interesting....may be possible....

Eten Glofiish M810 bluetooth DUN

hi,
I have a Glofiish M810, great phone as HTC and eve same problems. in fact on WM6 rom there is no bluetooth DUN service present.
Is there a patch or update that enable it?
I tried the one on this site intended for HTC but it seems not to work.
I think WM6 rom should be the same why it doesn't work.
Please help me.
Thanks
Is there anyone that can help?

Connecting HTC s740 to BMW Bluetooth Carkit

I have a 2004 BMW 3series with an integrated bluetooth carkit. Unfortunately I cannot get the connection with my HTC s740 working. The phone recognizes the car and connects. But not vice versa. The dealer thinks the software in the HTC is too advanced. Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I downgrade the bluetooth software of the phone? In my former car I had a Parrot which worked perfectly with the HTC. Unfortunately I sold the Parrot with the car.
Thanks for helping me out!
What rom are you using?
I have an issue with my HD and TOuch Cruise on 6.1, although using 6.5 on my Cruise works fine??
It is reported that cooked 6.1 roms dont like connecting to car bluetooth kits.
Im still looking for a solution to this, probably to do with bluetooth stack/drivers.
bluetooth problems HTC s740 to BMW
If you mean the ROM of my HTC, it is. 5.2(.20279.20279). It is a 2008 smartphone.
Do I need to upgrade the phone?
lol is that a cooked rom or stock? if cooked, see this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=519676
I know its not much help, but you will appreciate that things are happening.
To be honest; I have no idea what you mean. What is the difference, and how I am I about to know. I didn't change anything on the phone, after buying it........
Hey bro,
If you have no idea what rom you are using, u will be using stock rom.
Stock = offical HTC rome included with device.
Cooked = another/different rom, not originally intended for use on ur device, or provided by HTC. A cooked rom has been "altered" to work on ur device. They work better and faster and provide more functionality than stock roms.............
It would appear that bluetooth is a problem with all 6.1 roms (cooked or stock!!)
ok, time to complain to HTC (for what good it wil make)
I may merge these threads into one, as they are related.
