I know you can get them from other places either in CAB or in OEM Packages. However, it's just too difficult to get them all together.
So I present you some of the OEM packages which I collected, extracted or created for use in my ROM.
1. The first one is taken from Schaps' ROM. It's a 3G-Battery with Indicator. I didn't ask Schaps' permission for this. I hope he's cool with it.
2. O2 Backup is taken from O2 Life and has been fixed to work on all devices. It allows you to backup PIM & My Documents data
3. O2 SMS Plus v1.6 is also taken from O2 Life. It's sorta like SMS Threaded applications. It also allows you to send/receive vCard from other dumb phones. It also support group SMS & Scheduled SMS
4. HTC Album v1.1030.720. Taken from a CAB file with fixed English Interface (Originally Chinese). You can choose which Folder to browse.
Here are another 4 Packages:
1. Newer version of HTC Home v2.1.105.722
2. Adobe Flash Lite v2.1 with the Cool HTC Animation from Schaps
3. Schaps' Advance Configuration v1.1
4. Palm Threaded SMS with fixed database folder. Instead of in Windows Directory, I patched the database to be stored on 'My Documents' folder for easy backup. You need to rename your backup SMS data from 'PalmMsgv001' to 'Palm01' and copy it to 'My Documents' folder.
Another 4 Packages
1. KeepAlive is a very old freeware from WinCE days. It prevents your PPC from turning Off. It's very usefull when you need to let you device on all the time.
2. PowerOff is another old freeware from Scott Seligman. It just shows a tiny PowerOff buttons at the Today Screen.
3. O2 Smart Text is also taken from O2 Life. It's just another thumb inputs with T9 capability. Good for One-Handed Operation
4. Picsel PDF Viewer. Taken from PPCGeeks. A superb PDF viewer compared to Adobe offering.
I downloaded all but I couldn't install even a single one.
These are not cab files nor installation .exe files nor a folder placed in the machine to run off with.
What are they? If these are for ROM cooking only then they are outside what most of us want to deal with.
These are OEM packages for ROM cooking and since this is the upgrading forum its the right place for things like this to be posted (IMO).
I personally wouldn't mind a separate forum for cooking, as some of the questions here are rather 'off topic' from ROM upgrading (flashing) or cooking, since installing an application is not an UPGRADE in any sense of the word...
Until then, it seems like this is the right place for this...
Thanks for your contributions [email protected]...
wow...a package for palmsms...hopefully it works.
Thanks for the packages! Am sure some cookers will find these handy!
how to benefit from thsoe if you are not a cook?
Hello,
a lot of thsoe packages look really useful, but, noby uses them so far in the offical release ROMs.
Cooking your ownROM still sounds intimidaing to me (and mybe others), so is there an easy to get thsoe as cab files, or is it posible to cook a delta ROM just adding those pakcages to one of the release ROMS?
Thanks
Juju
As requested by you here or via PM. Here are the CAB files for the OEM packages.
The 3G Battery Level will replace a system file. So you need to install Certificate CAB to allow the installation.
For Keep Alive, PowerOff, Advance Configuration, just copy the execute file to your Kaiser. No installation is needed.
HTC Home & Album CABs are widely available so I won't post them again. To change the HTC Album to English menu (from Chinese) you need to copy the 'RFileShell.dll' from Resco Explorer english Version.
Enjoy!
There is another nice application called O2 Theme which works well with kaiser. This is the WM6 version of O2 Plus. To learn about this, you can go to this thread I posted in Athena board:

Hi,
the M8 is standard Software input panel (hereinafter SIP) modules, that's means if applications that follow the windows mobile design guide, it will work properly with different sized SIP.
your idea will be take in to account and thanks for your supports.

hello developers
your product M8 is very good!
one more idea, to improve usability:
make an option to let keyboard appear from top of screen, till the middle.
the reason is: some applications have text input field at the bottom, but doesn't recognize keyboard allocated this place. and doesn't redraw it's input field higher (on the top of new appeared keyboard), so application text input field becoming invisible until the end of input.
another solution on same problem:
make your keyboard application it's own temporary input window on top of keyboard.
(it may optionally include increased font size for better visibility on street)
will be waiting for your reply, and a new version
thanks
now, let's wait for new release of it (under name of O2 or standalone M8)

I guess this is somewhat helpful because it's easier to back up the My Documents folder than find PalmMsgv001 in \Windows and back that up.
However, I hardly ever put anything into \My Documents because of the chance of forgetting about backing it up before flashing a new ROM. Hopefully someday we'll see a Threaded Messaging app that has more options - like save folder, and font size (the font is so tiny!). That's why I liked TxtMan - but it crashes too often, and isn't completely integrated into the Windows messaging system.
if someone could fix palm to work on the kaiser thatd be fabalous.. i know im jumping off topic but im willing to offer up $25.00!
here is the O2plus 2.3 cab , working on touchpro
Hi,
This is probably a no, (and i've searched for this already btw but not found anything), but....
Is it possible to launch a different application other than the touch cube when you slide your thumb up the screen ?
thanks in advance
Matt
Yes it is, but not with the normal TouchFlo. Search for FTouchFlo, it does basically the same, but you can assign any command to each direction of sliding your finger over the screen.
That means four different possibilities.
Don't know if this helps, but you can try this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1971424
Note that VJBrisk is basically just a tiny app I made to allow you to replace one executable (eg BioTouch.exe), with VJBrisk, and VJBrisk will allow you to launch a shortcut with parameters.
You may well not need to do that step, depending on your needs. The thread above explains this much better than my mumblings.

cheers chaps, will take a look at these.
I had hoped it was as simple as a registry change but guess not
thanks
Matt
Use UltimateLauncher, and get rid of TouchFLO Cube. It also lets you assign functions to run any .EXE or .LNK to swipes in all 4 directions. That's what I did. But I only use Up and Down. Up to get open my contacts and down to invoke the S2U2 screen lock.
I've decided to go with vjbrisk which is working very well at the moment.
however, even with show all files I am unable to fine either LaunchStartupApp.lst or Launchstartupapp in the windows file. Am using a polaris (o2 orbit 2)...any ideas where I can find this or if it's called anything else.
It's not the end of the world, would just be useful to free up 5mb or so.
cheers
Matt
hey folks. i'm new to this rom cooking thing. i'm using the Kaiser Kitchen. I've loaded a base rom into the folder and run the Begin command prompt. now i'm stuck. i have no idea what OEM/SYS items i can get rid of and what i need to keep. i'm just trying to build an extremely lite rom that has manila 2d with the weather under the clock on the home screen. but i don't want to go and delete something that i need, so i'm not comfortable doing any editing just yet. can anyone give me a breakdown of what this stuff is? or even point me in the right direction if it's already posted (which it probably is, i'm just not sure what to search for)? i'd greatly appreciate it. i'm enjoying this rom cooking quite a bit, but, like i said, i'm pretty new to this. i've never taken any classes or anything, so i don't understand some of the terms/procedures used on this site, so please use layman's terms if you reply to me. again, i appreciate your taking the time to help me out, even if it's just a finger pointing me in the right direction.
Hope it doesn't take you too long to read.
first off what's your base ROM (the ROM that you downloaded and put inside the BaseROM folder) and then I could tell you what to get rid of. By the kaiser kitchen you mean the one from the wiki correct?
I'm going to need more info on how you are putting the weather on the home screen (e.g. CAB, Package. etc.) and your BaseROM to tell you accurately what to do.
as for adding in that weather package, first make sure the manila version you are using is 2.x or more. I would say don't make a package out of the CAB (if that's what you are using to put the weather display on the home page). Instead go into the OEM folder and look for the OperatorPKG folder. Enter the OperatorPKG folder and look for a file named "config_operator.txt" (without the quotes).
Mine looks like this:
LOCK:Enabled
TSK: \WINDOWS\Htc.tsk
CAB: \WINDOWS\AMfix.cab
XML: \WINDOWS\Menu_Operation.xml
CAB: \WINDOWS\fixyoutube.cab
CFG: \WINDOWS\config_PT.txt
I'm positive yours will look different. Pay attention to the "CAB: \WINDOWS\"insert CAB file name here"
What you are going to do is take that weather CAB for manila and put it in the OperatorPKG folder. Now go in the "config_operator.txt" and add this string:
CAB: \WINDOWS\"name of the cab file you just put in the OperatorPKG folder, INCLUDING the .cab extension (ex: M2Dhomeweather.cab)"
After cooking and flashing the ROM and setting up your device it will auto install that CAB and you should be set to go.
Now once you tell me the baseROM you are using I can tell you what is mostly junk in the OEM folders you have.
Also in case you are curious.
In the "config_operator.txt"
A "TSK" represents a theme and will make the device load a certain theme.
A "CAB" (obviously) represents a CAB file and will auto-install the CAB file.
A "CFG" represents the next config.txt file and tells the device to look at that config file next.. There are 4 total in all used for different purposes but they all do the same thing more or less. In the "config_operator.txt" ALWAYS make sure the
CFG: \WINDOWS\config_PT.txt
string goes last. It will skip anything else after itself if you do not have it as the last string.
P.S. - Always get an opinion from more than one person
Using the above process you will be using 2x the amount of space .cab & install
Also when things are cooked in they are faster accessible than via .cab install.

kaiser:
well, first off, i'm using the HyperDragon IV as my base ROM. it's the only one i can find that actually has the weather on the home screen. i love the ROM, don't get me wrong, but it just has a lot of extra stuff in it that i don't need, and i'd like to have that storage space. this ROM actually has the home weather already built in. updates automatically according to the GPS (i'm assuming since it always displays the weather for the city i'm currently in). very handy for taking a quick look rather than having to press any buttons (i'm one of those "no phone while driving" people). however, when i add the Blue Galaxy theme to it, it changes the clock and takes away the home screen weather. i'm very new to this rom cooking business, ie: all i know is what i've either taught myself or looked up on XDA, so i have no idea how to make packages from cabs or anything like that. but reading above about where to put the cabs to auto install with the new rom doesn't seem too difficult. i can visualize it in my head (i spent QUITE A WHILE looking at those files yesterday! haha!). the HyperDragon IV rom is about 110 MB, and it moves a bit slow, but that is my ONLY complaint about it. i'd like to get to the point of being able to build a rom from scratch, but i think breaking one down and rebuilding it to my liking is a better starting point. i'm checking into taking some classes on it. i really enjoy working on my phone and i think if i had some formal training on it, it could be something that i LOVE to do. i just have no grasp of the technical jargin used, so sometimes i'll find a post pertaining to the topic i'm looking for, but i get lost in trying to understand some of them, you know? same thing with cars: i can work on them all day, but i have no idea what most of the parts are even called, much less what they do. i actually have 2 Tilts (my wife thought it was too complicated and got a different one), so i use one to practice on and check out new roms, and the other for everyday use. last night i installed the Hyperdragon IV rom on the extra and printed out the HTCHomeSettings file (with home screen weather) and printed the HTCHomeSettings file from my regular use phone (Blue Galaxy theme installed so no more home screen weather) and was getting ready to print them out and compare the differences between the two. just out of curiosity, would that have done me any good?
Off-hand question: NRH, is that North Richland Hills? if so, nice to see a fellow Texan! i live in Arlington, born and raised.
Stylez:
yeah, that's what i understand. phone operation is much quicker when software is built into the rom. thanks for the link. i was looking for something along those lines yesterday, just couldn't find it. i appreciate it. i've actually looked up A LOT of usefull info that you've posted on here, so thanks for the knowledge as well!
Staxx:
thank you, thank you, thank you sir! i actually posted a request last week for suggestions on a more beginner level user friendly kitchen, but got not a single response (last i checked). that's exactly what i was looking for: something where i can just check what i do and don't want. i was using PPCKitchen at first, but after cooking 3 roms that were just as big as HyperDragon IV (110+ MB) the program started giving me error messages. the frustrating part was that it wouldn't give me errors until it was almost done building the rom. that's quite a while to wait and quite a bit of time (by my standards) wasted to find out that the program isn't going to produce anything! so thanks for the suggestion. i'm going to go search for and download it right now.
To All:
thanks again for the help and advice. you guys are life savers! i can usually figure things out on my own. i like to think i'm smarter than the average bear. but sometimes i just need to be pointed in the right direction, or have things translated from technical jargin to layman's terms. i appreciate yall taking the time to help me and answer my questions. it's nice to see that there are still people in the world willing to help complete strangers. so thanks again guys! i'm sure i'll probably have more questions arise, so i'll probably be posting those as well. i try not to post anything that has already been answered, but sometimes i can seem to find exactly what i'm looking for, even if it is posted already. there is A LOT of info on XDA, but that's a good thing, or a GREAT thing i should say.
Kaiser:
by the way. i'm looking to cook a WM 6.1 ROM with:
blue galaxy theme, but with weather on the home screen, of course
bluetooth function
data connection auto config
manila 2d (dont need the customizer)
quick menu
quick gps
google maps
kaiser tweak
S2U2
BT enabled voice command
BTAudio Toggle (not the btaudio on/off but the toggler button that has the little headphones on the icon)
smartphone tracker
activesync
camera
opera 9.5
***prefer but don't have to have:
volume control, the one that is all black with the white volume bars running up and the vibrate and silent buttons directly underneath
there is also a contacts list that matches the above volume controls, black background with scrolling
wow! that actually looks like a lot now that i've written it out! i actually have all the cabs for the above mentioned items (except camer, activsync, volume controls and contacts list). i also have the cab for manila 2d with the weather on the home screen, but i haven't been successful in installing it WITH the home screen weather working, or even on the screen. i believe it's actually an add on. it's not the full manila 2d, just suppoesed to replace the clock with the flipping clock and add the weather under the clock (which it doesn't seem to do), so i think it may be about useless.
that's really about all i want in the rom. i'll most likely be using the HyperDragon IV rom as my base rom, since it already has the home weather. after that (and some more practice) i may try to learn how to take another lite or naked rom and add the home weather clock to it with manila. that's my goal anyway, to learn how to add it to a rom that doesn't already have it or manila. well, i'm off to download and check out that other kitchen. thanks again for the willingness to help me!
You should probably ask the chef of this ROM for help I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you. They would know about everything in the ROM and would be able to help you the most. If not then I'll download Hyperdragon and look at it in the kitchen.
@off-hand question - yup.
kaiser:
well, i think i'm going to download a stock WM 6.1 rom to practice on first. i'll see if i can't get in contact with the chef in the mean time. i got it off of the Sakajati website. not sure if that's going to make any difference in contacting the chef, but i'll see how it pans out. thanks again for your help.

I have never seen such a list and would be surprised if a complete list actually exists as there are around 3000 manila files on the HD2!
The best suggestion I can make is to install something like CFC_GUI on your PC (a simple search on this forum will find it). Most of these 3000 files (including the one you mentioned) contain .png images. CFC_GUI allows you to see the image contained in the manila file, which is in many ways better than a diagram or list.
With regard to 'mounting' cabs (do you mean 'creating' cab files?), there are a few free apps available. Again, a simple search on the forum will help you find what you are looking for. I use the 'create cab' feature included in HDWall to create all of my cabs because I already have HDWall installed. It saves me installing two different apps...!
I have seen something like that here in the XDA-Wiki. Just do a search.

How to install a cab.
You simply download the cab to your computer. Then, copy/paste the cab to your storage card using the USB connection. Then, using your file explore on your phone locate the cab file in your storage card and install it by double taping the file.
How to search the forum.
1) Towards the top right side of web page you should see the search option, press the small arrow.
2) A small drop down window should open.
3A) You may do a broad search which normally won’t turn up any solid information by simply typing out what you’re looking for in the white box and hitting search.
3B) For a more refine search click on the "use the built in forum search" / Advance search link at the bottom of the small search box.
4) You'll want to click on the small arrow just under the Keyword box on the left hand side of the screen and click "search titles only".
5) Then on the right side of the window is the larger “search in forum(s)” box, click on either the “HTC Leo: HD2” or the “T-Mobile USA HTC HD2” heading which are highlighted in white and press Search Now.

Ali, a ROM is a package that includes the full OS and other software on your phone. The stuff that came on your phone from the factory is the "stock ROM", and there are a large number of custom ROMs available here at xda that somehow improve or otherwise tweak/change the stock ROM to personal tastes and preferences. You can replace your stock ROM with a custom one if you would like, but the process is delicate and carries the possiblity of totally disabling your phone, permanently ("Bricking" it).
Themes are much safer, and a better place for you to start...in the "themes" section for your phone.
As for ROM's, there are some stickied threads at the top of this section ("Links to CABs, ROMs....") that have full instructions on ROM flashing....make sure you read them VERY carefully if you are thinking about taking that path. Then, read them again

Attached Files / Cabs founds below
cemd.arm.cab = total command file explore and registry editor
lockscreen cab below is for when you install a middle or low lockscreen (like iphone), and erase it. You'll need to reinstall the original back in.
The "dragonworld" cab removes the MMS limit of 300k (custom roms limit) and set it as 5 MB.
The "docHD2" cab allows you receive full size MMS pictures not the small ones. (doesn't work for everyone but a worth a try)
Great start to the thread. Lets keep it up to date.

Added to the list.
a good way to search the site without using the built in search, which is a bit shakey, is use google advanced specific to the site.
Bookmark this link

and add the words "hd2 leo" to your search query

In resco go to options -> general ->browser tab at the bottom and uncheck the "hide..." boxes. Now you'll be able to see registry settings and edit them I think.
REGISTRY !
"\\Plugins" is the folder the registry is in!! why doesnt anyone ever mention that !!!! it was at the top of my list but i never thought to check "plugins" for my directory ... but thats how you get to it.
If you keep this thread updated... that will certainly be of some MAJOR help to this section... because there's an increasingly disturbing number of bull**** posts everyday now...

HKLM/controlpanel/pen and change the value of 'Hide' from 1 to 0.
Good idea.......BUT
This is a great idea. Problem is the T-Mobile USA site should have links leading ONLY to cabs etc that are verified for the HD2 in the USA at T-mobile. Guess what? IT DOESN'T.
Noobs be warned. Watch where the links are taking you. Don't download and install anything from an area outside of the T-Mobile USA HTC HD2 section unless it has been verified to work / not screw your device.
Good Luck

only roms and radios can brick tmous, cabs and the like will be fine. If a cab is incompatible with the tmous, it will be incompatible with all hd2's.

When or where have you heard of a foreign cab screw up a device?
The wifi cab works perfect with any TMOUS HD2, yet it wasn't released to the US market. Give it a try.
install to device or card
america just wants to make money on everyone for everything, if they gave away free wifi, like they do in most other countries, verizon, timewarner, cablevision wouldnt make the millions of dollars they do each year, they want you to opt to get the hot spot at home router its a shame that money is usally behind every descion in the world.
And by the way, no where does it say if your install facebook/anything on ur card you wont be able to use it when your hd2 is plugged in to your comp, you will get errors ive been getting sysfile.exe errors lately also and just now trying to youtube froze my fone i might call tmobile and see if i can get it switched out or something
device installs
also noticed if you install wifi router to device it doesn'tget nearly as hot at the bottom back of phone
Very helpful!
Thanks,
Angelo
