AData 8GB Micro SDHC $49.95 - General Topics

I just got an 8GB Adata Micro SDHC card from Newegg for $49.95, and want everyone to know it performs quite well with both my Treo 750 and my ATT Tilt. This, in my opinion, is a great deal.

great
cheaper on ebay i bought on for 35.00 with a 3.00 shipping e-bay....what a place to find good deals.......cheak out fatfingers .com and type in a word and it will find all the miss spelled words on ebay and thats where you could find somthing for nothing because all the miss spelled words just sit flowting inthe data system with no where to land because it cant find a match to go into to sell so other buyers dont know that is out there unles you search on fatfingers .com try it you might get lucky and find a great deal....

Is there a site that searches the XDA-dev. forums for posts from people who don't know how to use periods?

no need to be rude, hes just giving us some tips
at least he spelled everything right, punctuation is something most are care free about

oops, my mistake, it is not micro. I must've forgotten that while I was doing my searches. I cancelled that.. but now I am looking on ebay.. $10+$5(shipping) for 8gb class 4's on there. seems too cheap.. no? I just searched for "microsd 8gb", min. of a few dollars to get past the readers and sorted by price+shipping.

Adata is supposed to be one of the best
I bought the Adata card because several reviews I have read have given it very high marks. I know, from experience, not all memory cards are created equal. The card I got is quite fast in my Treo 750 (using it with an adapter). I was also able to copy the entire 3+ gig Tomeraider Wikipedia to it (using my computer) in just over 3 minutes. That is excellent performance, in my opinion.

Micro SD advice needed please.

I have read somewhere that when looking for a micro SD for my (yet to be delivered) HTC Hero, I should be looking for a class 6,... But the class 6 ones on ebay all go on to say "Speed performance rating: Class 2 (based on SD 2.00 Specification) "!!!
So is it a class 6 or a class 2?
Don't buy from ebay
Class 6 is currently the fastest rated MicroSD but there's not a huge difference between that and a Class 2. It's only on the write speed that there is any difference and if you are not writing a lot of data regularly it's not worth the extra $. That said, if and when you do a large write operation it can cut down the time it takes by a considerable amount!
I would stick to a reputable retailer like Amazon and a good brand i.e Sandisk.
Hope this helps

+1, I completely agree
OP: After a certain point, the class doesn't really matter unless you have something like a very high speed camera which needs the high write speed to function properly. I don't even think a lot of the devices fully take advantage of the faster class speeds. And as DirkGently1 said, eBay isn't a good place to buy any flash media, as so much of the stuff sold is either fake or falsely advertised. Amazon has some pretty cheap microSD cards, that's where I buy all mine.
Oh you guys are good!! Thank you both. It never even occured to me to check Amazon, I assumed the price difference would be too much. Found one though.
Transcend?... I think i'v heard of that make before,... They're ok right?
Thank you again.

Do you have any advise, what would you recommend? Thank you
For a change they both look good. Both have good feedback and you have a UK address for both if anything goes wrong.
i don't think anyone will bother wasting time faking 8 GB cards, they are so small
the only time you want to be sure is when you buy 32 GB
even 16 GB are very common now
I heard good things about SanDisk but cant find for samsung. The problem is that on webpage of San Disk I cant find a card that looks like the one hes selling so a questiond is it genuine.
Both sellers are 'eBay Top-rated seller', my opinion is that the card is genuine.
Just find you local computer store and buy the SD card from them
I don't recommend buying memory cards from eBay unless from reputable seller; too many scams
looks like a genuine and the seller has a good rating
I do think this is genuine

Not sure about the Samsung one as I've never actually seen them in a retail outlet, but the SanDisk one looks like the real deal, it's exactly the same as my own, and the packaging is the same as what's currently in the shops here. I'd recommend it, even though it's a class 4 I got read speeds of 16 and write speeds of 11 with mine.
Here's a link to the site I usually buy from, probably not as cheap as UK one's but occasionaly they do some crazy special offers,
http://www.memoryc.ie/
Still looking for a SanDisk CL4 32GB, thanks to supercurio I have to re-rip everything to FLAC now =)
better buy a 16GB card

samsung cards are starting to show up, here is one i got from china yesterday,
read speed at 14-16mb/s
write speed at 13mb/s
class 6 high speed, the normal speed version does not state the plus logo.

16GB SD card

i was thinking about getting a 16 gb sd card i found this card on ebay and was wondering if anyone can tell me if it would work with the phone as well if it was good. thank you

It should work. But honestly, get the Amazon Basics Class 10 16GB microSD card. Faster and just as reliable. If it is available in your country that is.

It looks like a good deal for me. It will work well for the phone and it is good if it's not a counterfeited one. Sandisk MicroSD are known to be counterfeited a lot, especially on eBay.
Btw, you don't need a class 10 card. For whatever you do with your phone, you don't need to write in 10MB/s. 1080p video from the G2, for example, has a bit rate of only 2.5MB/s.
edit: I found the same microSD, sold by the same merchant, and cheaper at Amazon UK

The cheapest seller (currently Onebo, selling at £15) has only a 3.5/5 star rating, only 25% positive review. Some of the buyers complain that the microSD doesn't even have a Sandisk logo. I am not quite sure you want to buy from this seller.
I really recommend clicking the "63 new" line, them scroll down choosing Amazon UK as a seller. It's more expensive, but you're sure that you don't buy a fake card.
Regarding 64GB and class 10, it's totally your choice. 64 GB sure can store lots of stuff, and you can copy (from the computer) to the card quite fast.
In the other hand, 64GB class 10 card is about 3-4 times more expensive than the 32GB class 4 counter part. Not the most cost efficient option. In additional, the phone won't be able to utilize the class 10 bandwidth in most of your daily activities.
Edit: I bought a 32GB class 4 Kingston for HTC Vision, at $30 (around £15) shipped and sold by Amazon.com

The only two manufacturers that make 64GB cards are Kingmax (who built the card in the first place) and SanDisk (who doesn't make anything above a Class 6), and neither cards are Class 10. I'm actually pretty pleased with the 64GB card in my Doubleshot.
I just got one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00569J5E2/ref=ox_ya_os_product
Samsung 16GB class 10 for £17.
4EXT backs up 3 times quicker than the supplied Samsung 8GB class 2,
GTA3 1.1 is a bit smoother when driving quickly
It appears the UI and system apps that touch the SD are a bit more snappy. ie, gallery.
They do a 32GB bit I think the max speeds are a bit lower.

About dealextreme: buying from that site is pretty much a hit-and-miss. I have actually bought a lot of stuff from there. They're cheap, but also terribly slow at shipping. They also don't usually have goods in stock, and they backorder from the suppliers. NEVER buy there if you are in hurry, never.
Especially about memory cards, you never know if you're gonna get a genuine or a fake item. They just seem to ship whatever they have in stock. You might be lucky or not
Just buy from Amazon if you can. I have bought a Samsung 16GB class 10 for my Desire Z for 20€, and the increase in speed while loading the gallery is noticeable.

Edit: Also now shows they're coming in stock on May 1 as opposed to May 7. I went ahead and ordered one. If it's bogus Amazon is pretty easy with returns.

Good call, was going to recommend 7day also! :highfive:
Their 64GB micro sdcard is only £22, but out of stock at the moment, their 32GB card is also reasonable at £13.
I would only buy a card on Amazon if it was "SOLD" and "FULFILLED" by Amazon.
I would not buy one that was only fulfilled by Amazon.
Never from eBAY.

Hi
I bought a samsung pro 64gb sdxc from ebay member ''evelectron_tech''
Seems to be good store but will see.
I bought a 64GB on amazon through a partner and was burned with an 8GB fake. Even if the card "works" you need to fill it up AND test the files to see if it works. Amazon did refund promptly and I settled on a more reputable seller on Amazon (SoCal Trade). Reviews are your friend, and if it's too new to have any reviews, avoid.

I'd get this one:

they've got that car in stock cheaper than anywhere and have close to 160,000 positive feedback left and 5 stars. That's a LOT of positive feedback

I second this... bought the same one. Works well
apparently Toshiba released a competition-destroying MicroSD. So far all I can see is it appears to be called simply UHS-II. While every other of the top MicroSD cards are UHS-I, this one easily deserves the UHS-II designation. While the previous Title-holders were just shy of 50MB/s. This one in it's 32GB form is 260MB/s read and 240MB/s write. The 64, while significantly slower, is still much faster than the rest, reading at 145MB/s and writing at 130MB/s. Quite impressive. But I can't find a model $ or anywhere selling it
but here's the report on it:
