Hello. I have a Moto Q9h, and I have the 6.1 ROM that some chefs are using to port stuff over to HTC devices.
My question is, what kitchen can I use to BACKUP the current ROM I have on my Q9h ???? Does one exist, or do I have to modify an existing one ???? I read somewhere that I have to do it in Linux, is this true ????
Basically, me and someone else can figure out how to change the stuff around to make the 6.1 ROM work on our US Q9h's, we just need to know how to BACKUP our original ROM's, just in case. Please help, thank you.

Hi everyone.
I started this thread, because i rly wanna try to build my own ROM.
I ll base it to O2 German XDA neo ROM and just remove the useless stuff.
As informatik i think i will manage this, just need any person who tells me how to beginn.
Here are my current questions for beginning:
- ROM includes ext rom also?
- How to "backup" my ROM (cause i want to save and need the files to edit them)
- How about OS Rom? I also need to edit it? (dont think so, only wanted to ask
- Wich tools i ll need to edit the ROM (extract/modify/repack)
- Its a G4 model, i need to unlock it before i can backup the roms? (tried with aWizard without unlock, only ext ROM was backuped)
- What else i need to know!?
Would be really nice, if any person who already made a own ROM could give me some start advise/information. Would prefer a German guy, cause its more complicated in a forgein language, but dont have to. Also it would be really nice if he could communicate over ts2, or jus ICQ/MSN etc to me, cause its just faster as over forum.
If i done, i ll write an enlish+german howto thread about this.
thx to all who wanna help me,

Hi,
Please can someone help me. I am very confused by all the different WM6 OS that are on here. I dont want the O2 stuff thats on my PDA but when I flash with different OS systems its still there. I just want an operating system that is a basic as possible with as few bugs as possible.
I like WM6 and would like to stay with that so if someone could suggest the best one for me I would really be gratefull.

I guess you flashing with a OS ROm but not a extended ROM. Therefore you Still have the old extended ROM in Which are the O2 applications.
You need to get empty extended ROM and flash it to your device.
Regards to good WM6, it is up to everyones own opinion which of the ROM are the most suitable one. Currently I am using PDAVIET 2.10.11 and I am happy with it.

From my short experience with these WM6 roms there really isn't one "use this and nothing else" rom. They're all about the same with small differences. I use Laurentius26's latest rom and am quite happy. I don't even use video calls it just that I liked how stable it was to me.
Where can I get an empty extended ROM
Thanks for the help!
Can I be pointed in the right direction to find somewhere I can get and empty extended rom from.
Am I also right in thinking if I have an empty one it will leave more space for me to install programs of my choice.
I am new to all of this but am very keen to learn.
Thanks

I think you can find one in the FTP sites mentioned in the WIKI.
From my understanding having an empty extended rom gives you more space on the device yeah.
I am also confused by the many different OS version for WM6 ROMs. I did a search and this is the closest post I could find that had an appropriate topic but the answers don't really explains the reasons for different OS versions.
Is the latest the best and most stable?
Is there an OS changelist I can view somewhere?
Are the OS versions set by the ROM maker and shared by them?
Are the OS versions set by Microsoft or the device manufacturer that the OS came from?
When I found this thread I thought 'Universal' meant for all devices but I have just noticed that it was for a specific device and as such in a specific forum. I am going to post this question in the general forum...
Firstly I've looked around to make sure that my questions weren't answered somewhere else.
The only promissing thread that might've helped me is apparently dead ([GM730/750] Custom ROMs experiment).
What I'm asking is if there's a kitchen out there that works for LG's GM750 (also known as "Layla") with a Vf10 firmware.
I'd only want to upgrade from 6.5 to 6.5.3 (and change the boot anim) but apparently the only ROMs out there are for GM730 and not for GM750.
Please, its really hard going-by with the WinMo scene dominated by HTC phones.
Anything that might help me flash a custom ROM with WinMo 6.5.3 on a GM750 is not just appreciated, but desperately needed !
I would risk flashing a GM730 ROM, as I've heard (per previously linked thread) that there aren't much/if not any differences between 730 and 750 but I'd like to hear other people's ideas/options.
Sure, ROM cooking doesn't look as easy as using nlite but if that's the only option please tell me!
Thanks in advance!
I've followed the steps in this guide, but step 12 with error and finaly rom not work ^^!
Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong section, didn't know really where to start
Hi all, i needs to find anyone that is willing to develop or modify HTC Salsa Roms, currently i have Stock which cannot be flashed back and i am using a Chinese variant, with google patch to get maps etc. on O2.
Currently i cannot find chefs creating or doing anything with the HTC Salsa software and need to find a chef here willing to help us lonely users out.
