HTC-Dash, Android on HTC

Hello all,
I'm (noob) trying to compile a ROM for HTC Dash/ Excalibur. I have been looking @ android on HTC web site http://www.androidonhtc.com (a subsidy of xda-developers). They have a get involved page for HTC-vogue but none for dash/Excalibur. I tried git checkout but that didnt work either. I would need some help in getting through this PL.
Also if anybody has access to the ROM of the device demoed here that would be great too so i can tinker around with it to make it work on the dash. Thanks in advance.

PS: android on HTC page does not have space to leave comments and questions hence posting it here

Which ROM?

Hi I just got a HTC Magic 32a. I am a noob to Android, the phone itself is already rooted with the Cyanogen rom installed. I want to put a different ROM, which one do you guys recommend? I can follow the hacking wiki but just need to know what is a good stable rom with everything working. I am also in Canada with Rogers don't know if it makes a difference in terms of which rom to select.
I use to flash WM toms all the time but this seems more difficult.
Thanks in advance.
there is a Q&A section begging for your thread
this is not the place

[Q] HTC HD2 Verification

Hello Developers,
I've recently purchased a HTC HD2 device. I'm unable to update it's ROM please could you help me? And also how should i verify my device on web, as it's been purchased online from ebay?
Hey there,
welcome!
What have you tried to do so far? Flash a custom rom or an official one?
Your HD2 is capable of much more than running the native winmo6.5 that comes with the device.
Head over to the HD2/Leo forum here where you will find many good guides on flashing custom roms, android, wp7 etc.
Do plenty of reading before flashing anything other than official roms and understand the processes involved so you know what to do should you do anything wrong

[Q] what is custom ROMs?

hi htc desire s fans,
i just bought my device a month ago, and i got crazy when i saw the news that said that desire s will receive htc sense 3.0 and android 3.3.5,but i am sick of waiting, then i saw the guys here talking about installing thesis updates on there devices without waiting for the official update but i can't understand the steps they provide. so if any one can kindly explain in details how to install this updates or refer to a thread with the same topic will be great.
also a brief about the meaning of the custom ROM will be appropriated
thank you guys.
Well i have desire s and android at all one month too. From what i have learnt i can tell you in short: you must do S-off,root your phone and than flash new custom rom with new sence and android. Tutorials are here - forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1186401
I am afraid i cant tell you more, because i am not expert on that, maybe somebody else could
thanks mmarekk11 for your help,
i hate reading but i have to, cuz this is the only way and it seems interesting

I am not so much advanced and that is why i want to ask if it is possible to do S-On after rootig and flashing new ROM - and of course root and custom ROM would stay. I want to know that for the case i fire eMMC chip on rooted device and in service i would want repair under warranty. You know maybe they just take a look at S-on and say warranty is ok.
So is it possible or is that a nonsence?
Custom rom explained as
Stock ROM
A stock ROM is the version of the phone's operating system that comes with your phone when you buy it.
Custom Rom
A custom ROM is a fully standalone version of the OS, including the kernel (which makes everything run), apps, services, etc - everything you need to operate the device, except it's customized by someone in some way.
So what does the "customized" part mean? Since Android is open source, developers are free to take stock ROMs, modify them, strip them of garbage, optimize them, add things, and pretty much do whatever their imagination and skills allow.

[Completed] Help in Porting To Cyanogen

Hey, Guys
im a total noob in programming and stuff :silly:
but im very much interested in mobiles and technology
I wanted to port Cyanogenmod to my htc desire 826(only china and india release, so i figured there will be no further updates from htc )
I saw many guides for noobs but they said base rom shouldnt be stock, and please correct me if i am wrong that port rom should be pure
So if base rom shouldnt be stock then i cant use the rom in htcdev
and it is written any other rom(cyanogen?) for same soc(snapdragon 615) and resolution(1920X1080)
there is no rom available like that the closest i found was yu yureka plus but the rom there itself is for both the 720p and 1080p resolution( project-tomato just made the account so outside links restricted )
also it is from a different manufacturer
Please guys help me it will be much appreciated
Also too I have been following xda for a long time
Also which method should i follow??
P.S.
Guys i really like all this stuff can you please tell me where should i start learning it and to understand android code
Also built universal apps that run across all three platforms
Thanks guys your help will be much appreciated :fingers-crossed: :fingers-crossed:
