WIFI connection lost - Touch Cruise General

Hello, I seem to lose my WIFI connection too easily, switches to 3G, and often turns off the WIFI without asking for it.
Does anyone have an idea ? I am using the WM6 FRE original.
thank you,
yves

Goto wireless lan settings > power> and move the slider to the left for best performance.
Mine was doing the same now I never lose a connection..although I have to sacrifice battery power.

thanks pistonripper, have made the changes and doing some testing

I have the same problem, and sometimes wifi won't turn on at all!
Also, the blue led on the top flickers sometimes , but not in a normal frequency but more like a 'flickering' for a few seconds.
Next to that, i also can't get my FM Radio to work, but it has worked in the past!
Have hard-resetted the device, cleaned it, slider of wifi is on best performance but no use!
Someone help? Or is my phone partly defected?

slow sms retrieve?

hi all,
has anybody experienced delays in getting sms?
im trying to figure it when the device (tg01) is in sleep mode, would it still recieve sms, mms?
occasionally when i bring it out of sleep mode it comes up with no signal, then after 2 seconds full signal and the orange logo.
is this a graphics glitch or is it actually no signal?
anyone else have this problem or just me?
I've noticed it going through the "registering" graphic a few times when it comes out of sleep mode. Not sure if it really had no signal or not. Haven't tried testing SMS speeds, but I normally receive SMS and calls during sleep no problems. Having said that, there were a few test calls I did while the device was asleep that didn't go though. Not quite sure why.
ive had my wife text me and i dont recieve it til i resume from sleep.
it must have something to do with the radio going into powersave or something. been hunting through the reg trying to find a graphic refresh key but nothing yet.
What are your Power Saving Settings set to, out of interest?
my power saving are as follows
cpu-medium with "limit cpu to save battery" unticked
auto sleep set to 5 minutes
wifi is set to balanced with no restrict sleep mode and no enable during sleep
backlight is set to 1 minute and light on when button pressed is ticked
i currently get 2 days with moderate usage, if i forget to turn wifi off then its dead by the time i get into bed
do you have the same problem or experienced anything similar?
Like I said above, I did a few test calls while the device was asleep that didn't go though, but haven't really experienced the same problems as you.
My power saving settings are:
CPU speed: HIGH
Limit CPU speed for battery: OFF
WIFI: Favour Transmission Rate
Restrict Sleep Mode: OFF
Restrict WIFI during sleep mode: GREYED OUT
Turn off backlight if not used for: 30 SECS
Turn on backlight when button pressed or screen tapped: ON
Adjust brightness automatically: OFF
Brightness: MID-WAY
Sleep Mode if not used for: 5 MINS
Are you on orange?
do you use 2g or 3g?
im not entirely sure how to find out my 2g-3g status as all the icons look the same
my sims an orange 2.5g payg
I'm on Orange 3g payg. I would seriously recommend upgrading to a 3g sim card. Just go into an Orange shop, explain that you're a "pay as you go" customer (don't say "payg") with a 3g phone but only a 2g sim. Say that you want to do a "sim upgrade" to a 3g sim. They should handle that there and then for you. Don't let them tell you you need to call 450, because you don't. They can do it right there in the shop.
You can tell your 2g-3g status by looking at the icon to the left of the signal strength on the top status bar. If it says 3G+ then its connected to the 3g network. If it has a big G then its connected to the 2g (GSM) network.
i only get a g with crossed lines in it like a mesh, tbh the guys in my orange shop are utter smug **** heads so ill prob phone up and have a moan, get some freebies.
just put of interest do you know what the axcon.dll does?
axcon.dll is the library for accessing the accelerometer in the TG01. See here for more details.
its a shame the work stopped where it was, i tried upping the dword of 101 to 256 and i had to hard reset my phone, butr gay, but maybe smaller increments may work to speed up the rotation speed
Not quite sure what you mean. I only briefly skimmed over the blog post, but from what I can tell they successfully got a C# library working as well as a JavaSE (Mysaifu JVM) library, mentioned in the blog post comments.
From what I see, the only thing we still need is an HTC/TG01 wrapper, so that apps designed for the HTC accelerometer will work on the TG01.
yeah, they have set up a driver to catch all the tg01 sensor calls and translate it into the htc type. but theres just source code, no one has seemed to take this further

WiFi Seriously draining batery!

First and foremost let me say that I love this phone. But I am having an issue with serious battery drain that's occurring when I have WiFi on. I need to use WiFi Calling in my house, and it worked flawlessly on my previous mytouch 4g, running under the same conditions. In fact, my wife now has that phone and it works great, we actually manage to save a ton of battery with wifi calling turned on.
So when I got the Sensation I hoped for more of the same, great battery life when at home due to wifi calling. However, that is not the case, when I have wifi on, with or without wifi calling enabled, my battery drains at a rate of about +-10% an hour! And thats with out even touching it! Without wifi on, 2-4% per hour battery drain.
Speeds when I do things over wifi are blazing fast, and the signal is full bars, so I know the phone is not searching for the wifi. With wifi, and minimal use, I max out at 5-6 hours! Not sure what to do, as not using wifi is really not an option.
One other thing, coming from the mytouch 4g, a highly underrated phone imo, I do see some lag that wasnt present in the "lesser" phone. In particular, the USA Today app, for example, on the Mytouch scrolling was smooth as butter, not so much on the sensation, I also see it in the Android market when I look at my apps, same app list on both phones, mytouch scroll is smooth as can be, Sensation is very jittery.
Maybe someone has some thoughts, or is having similar issues, cause I am so jealous of all the "OMG my battery lasted 6 months" posts!
Thanks in advance!
Because the phone comes stock with the WiFi sleep policy set to never. In my opinion that's a stupid decision on HTC's part. Easy fix though. Go into Wireless settings and clock on WiFi settings. Then click the menu key and click advanced. You will see the WiFi sleep policy menu. Just change it to "Never When Plugged in" or after 15 minutes. If you change it to Never when plugged in then the WiFi will go into sleep mode when ever you turn your display off.
Ive had it set to the 15 minute setting, but I thought that the wifi calling would block wifi from sleeping. Once when looking at the battery screen, I zoomed either on wifi or wifi calling, and it said something to that effect.

Sorry, I forgot you said you use WiFI calling. That might have something to do with it. I always keep mine of so it doesn't matter if my WiFi sleeps right away.
Wifi can't sleep!
I don't know if i should start a new thread but this was the closest to my problem I could find.
Basically I'm having the same WiFi battery drain issues, and I tried to do the usual Wifi Sleep 'after 15 mins' or 'Never When Plugged in' options in the advanced menu but it always reverts to just 'Never' after a few minutes.
On my power graph it shows that I have had continuous wifi on despite changing the settings. So its not just the option returning to default when i open the menu either.
I'm really confused here, is there something forcing my wifi to be on all the time?
Any help is much appreciated.
Make sure wi-fi best performance is not checked. That will drain battery faster also

[Q] Wifi turns on randomly

Hi all,
A coworker bought the SGS3 on my recommendation and its battery life is absolutely horrendous. He went into the advanced wifi menu and changed the one setting to Never as was recommended here. But with wifi manually turned off it will just turn itself on like every minute. Then it goes back off after a few seconds then it turns itself back on after a minute and repeat, etc.
I can be in the settings menu looking at the wifi screen and the toggle is set to off, and it will just turn itself on.
I'm thinking this probably has something to do with the terrible battery life. He can only get to about 2pm each day before having to recharge and he is not a power user. something definitely wrong with the phone.
The phone is running stock software and is on the latest update LHE not rooted or unlocked.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

There is a thread on this already: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1878779.
For me the issue was Tower Defense, which had in it's permissions that it could change the WiFi state. I suggest you look through all the recently downloaded apps for one that can change the WiFi state.

Yes, I saw that thread. I've gone into the wifi advanced settings and made sure all the auto-connect and wifi data hog settings were set to off. nobody has found out the definite cause of this? He doesnt have Tower Defense installed. It's obviously a flaw as tons of people have this issue.
It's very disappointing because it's ruining an otherwise good phone. Who wants a phone that with only light usage is dead everyday by 2pm??

Bluetooth turns screen on

When I get into my car and my bluetooth headunit connects with my Z3, the screen decides to turn on... for no reason whatsoever. I've disabled apps, tried setting up tasker to turn the screen on after a few seconds... yet nothing seems to work.
Why is this happening? I never had this with my Z2, it really sucks when my phone is in my pocket and I just want to drive, instead I get random actions, and even at one point pocket dialed people.
I hate to reply with anything but a solution, but this is an ongoing issue for me as well. It doesn't seem like it's solvable without a custom kernel. After I rooted my Z1C and installed SlimKat, it stopped happening. Since I got my Z3 I haven't been able to figure it out at all. The closest I got was to install a custom lock screen and have Tasker check for BT Connected and [custom lockscreen] started then wait 1 ms and turn the screen off. That used a ton of battery. I guess it's a solution if you find a way to stop the battery drain. Went from 5+ SoT to less than 3 in a day.
Bumping the topic.. exact same problem. Very very irritating. Battery drains out without even my knowing it. Seems like a serious bug.

Cyanogenmod bugs

Can someone please explain to me whats meant by cdma bug? And also what wifi mac adress is? I mean how will these affect the device.. Not looking for technical info simple and short
Thank you
The CDMA thing is just if your mobile network uses CDMA, and that's just an issue where you have to set preferred network type on first boot.
The MAC address is the address that your device uses on a wifi network (a bit like an IP address). The issue is that it's randomised every time you reboot, so some router things like QOS and whitelisting won't work, but for normal use it doesn't really matter.
Hope this helps ☺

THANK YOU I will give CM A try then I thought the CDMA meant no signal lol and the MAC address thing meant no wifi or would limit both the capabilities

Well if you don't set the thing at first boot it is no signal, so remember
I have another thing to report:
The headphones are set to VERY high volume. Even if i turn the volume to the minimum during a call, it is still too loud.
I often have awake and screen on, but i dont actually have screen turned on. How can i see which process is doing this or fix it?

Does the "double tap to wake" set to on ?
it maybe because of that

It is, yes. But i was most active on phone that day from 8-16, and in that time you can see that awake and screen-on just kept increasing and didnt "shut off" at all later that day even though not much was going on with the phone. If i remember i even restarted the phone (that sliver missing on the graph).
Right now i have this kind of usage, the way it is supposed to be (ok, not sure whats wrong with the signal, but lets leave that alone for now)
Could it be some app not letting the phone go to sleep or what?

I dont know what happen. But what i saw from your 1st SS, the screen doesn't go to sleep.
U can see what apps that use much battery by simply go back from History details.
On my Battery use stat, Screen always be gonna be the biggest usage (and that's normal). If l lock the phone, the phone does go to sleep (means screen is off and not using the battery until i turn it back on).
On Cyanogen dev thread for our device, some people have bad battery life when double tap to wake is on (me too).
Maybe it's not well implemented yet. So that's why i rather choose not to use that feature for a while until it well implemented.
Ok, thanks for your thoughts. I didnt chech which app used the most power, but perhaps it was Exchange not being able to sign in. I will monitor the behavior (during weekend it should be a lot longer battery life).
Yeah, i think dt2w is not optimised. As long as i have full day of battery it should be enough and for now that is the case.
The volume bug is annoying though.
is it only me that has an issue with Notifications on this phone? It seems that when I am on wifi my internet stops or something.. is there a setting or something I have missed?
No, a lot of users are reporting this bug. I suggest you try the app "Heartbeat fixer for GSM" or "PNF Root" which could fix this. I install one or the other as soon as I get a new phone, and I don't have issues with push notifications that I've noticed so far, but I haven't tested the Mi4C on WiFi yet.

Did you try from scratch?
I put on TWRP, deleted EVERYTHING (system, data, cache...) then put on CM and gapps (opengapps - ARM64 - pico) in one go and for me it works like it should.
About my awake problem: I have left the phone more or less alone during the weekend and it seems it works like expected. I will observe if i find any more strange behaviour like i did a few days ago.
Seems that it sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't the two apps that are mentioned above don't seem to be making a difference.. The funny thing is when I am not connected to WIFI the phone seems to be running fine (notification wise). But when the screen is off and I am on wifi the device seems to be going into some sort of deep sleep most of the times. I think after 2-3 days it hasn't been as bad, but I do get 1 or 2 random hangout notifications not appearing at all..
