how to sync photos with ActiveSync Under Windows XP? - General Topics

Sorry i've a problem:
under Vista i could use the Windows Mobile Device Control and it takes the new media files (photo, video ecc) from my HTC PDA and then copy all on my pc.
Under Windows XP i've Active Sync, but how i can set it to synchronize the photo in a specific folder on the pda with another folder in my pc?
Thanks a lot!!!

Hi there,
as far as I remember, there's no such option in Active Sync 4.5 or earlier. Sorry, you need to do this manually. Or you can use Microsoft SyncToy to sync the photos between the standard folder of active sync and another folder on your pc.
Best regards,

synchronising with two folders instead of one?

Hi,
Is there anyway with WM5 / activesync 4.5 to syc two folders rather than just the 'my docs' folder? I seem to be able to add extra files from the desktop to sync, but not folders.
I effectivly want to constantly & automatically backup a small folder on my PC to my XDA, aswell as the usual my docs folder.
Thanks Anthony

A program called easy sync will work for you. I needed the same thing and found that this program works wonders. Not to difficult but not very easy either, but will sync any folder, file or whatever else you want in whatever folder you have on your device and computer. Hope this helps.
Here is the link:

EXCELLENT!
Great!
Looks perfect, I will never forget to keep those files backed up now, it will be done everytime I connect my PPC.
Perfect thanks

Help with activesync and transfer files to htc hermes please?

Hi,
Please excuse the noobie question!
I have an alpine and bought a new hermes
Activesync for me has always been a bit hit and miss, with it sometimes connecting and sometimes not
But I have two main issues:
1. How do synchronise my calendar with microsoft outlook's calendar?
2. How do I transfer all of my files and calendar from my alpine to hermes?
Thanks for your patience!
in activesync options on the pc one just click the checkbox for calander and files and whatever one wish to sync
when calender and files are synced copying the file dir for the old phone in my documents on the pc to the new files dir for the new phone and you're set

How to sync files on the Polaris with network folder?

Hi
I have the following configuration:
1) Windows Vista Ultimate on a PC connected to a router
2) NAS (QNAP) where I store my important files connected to same router
3) HTC Polaris
What I would like to have is to syncronized the files on the Polaris with the files on the NAS. In Windows Mobile Device Center I can only syncronize to a folder located in the Vista PC.
The problem is that is always difficult to syncronize the files between NAS/VISTA PC/POLARIS all together
Is there a way to directly syncronize the files on the Polaris with the NAS (without having to setup an expensive exchange server)?

You'll have to use something like Easy Sync, or Mighty Sync. You'll also have to install CardExport to export your storage card (assuming thats where you store your files on your TC) so that it shows up as a usb drive under XP/Vista.

The files are not many and in the main storage.
Maybe a registry hack for "windows mobile device center" to choose a folder on a network drive? I'am sure is possible, how though?
With those tools I will not have problems with sync between 3 folders??? (the Polaris, the Vista PC, the network folder)

My Dropbox as a perfect sync for Mac,PC and Mobile

Just wanted to share this. For those using Mac and PCs to sync their mobile device. This is a solution to sync files and folders you want to use in all three platforms. I use the Missing Sync on my Mac and also My Dropbox for synching files between my Mac and PC. Now to keep files synched on my mobile too I chose the My Dropbox folder as the folder to sync in Missing Sync. This way all three plaforms keep my files synched all the time. Maybe some of you are doing this... thought I would just share it.

Do you know any good free app to sync my PC Pocket and my PC. Because "Missing Sync" isn't.
Missing Synch is only for the Mac platform. For synching only PC you have the Active Synch from Microsoft, that should do the job.

Delete partnerships without PC activesync

Is there a way to delete a partnership using only your WM 6.1 Device? I don't use windows anymore and I'm trying to sync with SynCE.

Sure, in Activesync on the PPC go to options, highlight the computer name of the partnership you want to delete and hit the delete button.
Thanks, for some reason options wan't clickable. So I did what I didn't want to do. Installed virtualox, setup a winXP vm, Installed activesync . I did resync it. Then the options showed up...Weird.
I still can't get a partnership via SynCe :-(
