New Hemli_c Rom For Apache...Thx Hemi!!!

This is a new rom which is still in the testing phases but works fantastic as I have been using it for a week. Here is a quote from Hemi_c post over at PPCGeeks.com

Yes, any Apache rom should work as long as it is not designated as a carrier specific rom. For instance, some of the custom roms have the Sprint ExtRom built in. However, this rom from Helmi should work for all Apaches.

CDMA dial up connection Numbers are same for all operator(as i know)
#777, so i should work
(i am using is rom with China Unicom without no problems,just typed User ID and Password)

I have a sprint ppc-6700 and upgraded my rom to CE and just did a quick test so far so good..
I do have one question.. would it be possible to get a "basic/light" version of the ROM without so many apps installed.
For example without, Adobe reader, voice command, all the ringtones/pictures, SPB, etc...
Please let me know and thank you again for all your hard work

Why?
Just disable the stuff. It is not taking up any of your usable memory. Also, check out some of the custom roms that are available at ppcgeeks.com. They are all based off of Helmi's previous releases of 3.3 and 3.5

try putting it into boot loader mode first then flash the rom to it

how to download this rom
i can not down thru ftp server that i dont have user name and pass

Note that the newest ROM is now R4 and the link on the first page won't work as the files have all been re-arranged. I'm happily using a ROM I created from R3, as the R4 Kitchen seems to have some issues along with it's "creamy goodness".
If you go to the ppcgeeks FTP site and browse to Apache;Latest Kitchen, you'll see the new Kitchen.

ŃŐŐß questions for newbie rom cooking

Hi guys. I have flashed many great roms from xda to my Kaiser but I am keen to make my own...
I have done allot of reading through the rom cooking wikis and watched the screen casts for the Kaiser Kitchen program. But I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with.
The first relates to the latest roms that members of this forum are using to construct their latest builds. No one seems to be using the roms in Alex's Megaupload folder so should I disregard those roms, oem packages and seek the latest roms that are being used on xda If so are these roms available for download prior to customization on this forum? I have used the search function but cant find them.
Ive noticed that people are porting roms from other HTC devices for use with the Kaiser? Is this something I will need to do to make a latest os build?
Also is there one location for all the latest apps like opera 9 camera drivers ect for me to cook into a rom?
I have many more questions but ill save them for next time. I am sure questions like this get asked all the time so ill be greatly appreciative of anyone that can help.. Cheers..

you can use the newer builds that are available here at xda. plus you can download official builds from htc and than use the official build as your base and modify, tweak and improve it.

not necessarily the latest os build. Reasons roms are ported from other devices is to take advantage of the features available on those roms that don't exist on our official or standard rom. check out this tutorial on porting sys and xip:

I don't think they are all in one location but most of them are all available here at xda for you to cook in. You have to do a little bit of hunting and scavaging Just don't forget to credit whoever created the cab/package you use

So by this you mean download a latest build I can find, flash it and then dump it from my phone and customise it in the kitchen? Or is there some tool that will extract the os from the rom without having to flash?

you can use the kaiserkitchen to dump contents of rom

Ive followed the steps to extract a rom from a rom file but the oem folder is empty.. This is suppost to contain the operating system yes? What step have I missed? thanks

You need to download a cooking kit, not just a kitchen, unless you build your own. They usually include OEM Folde, SYS Folder, etc...
For a noobie migh I sugest PPCKitchen.org where you'll find the PPCGeeks KaiserKitchen.
There are also a few screen shot videos by DoctaJay. They are available in the wiki & in the start here thread.

Which ROM did you dump? Depending on the way it was cooked, you might not be able to get OEM and SYS files in tact. Find a ROM that was cooked with all dsm and rgu files, then you will be able to dump and create packages.

Kaiserchef is also a very good kitchen for beginner chefs. It runs each .bat in order automatically. All you have to do is download the kitchen, put the stock rom you want to dump in the base rom folder and run the runme.bat. Select use the rom in base rom folder as base and it will extract it. Packages are all over the forum. Just rember that camera and dialer packages are sometimes device specific so be sure to read up. I have some oems in my 4shared and starbase64 has almost any oem you could ever want in his 4 shared. just do a search for starbase64 and click on his 4share link in his sig.

Ok, downloaded Version5.9RRE20748manilla.rar rom from aruppenthal's 4shared folder as it seems like this is the latest build I can find and I want to build a rom based on the latest build.
Followed the steps in Kaiserchef and it extracts the SYS, ROM folders but the OEM folder remains empty I downloaded a rom package from Alex's megaupload folder, but if I use that ROM folder from Alex's rom it will be an older OS I'm building correct? Where would I find the latest?
And can someone kindly explain what the ROM, SYS and OEM actually folders do.

If you want to cook it get the rom from my 4 shared that has this name
RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_3.57.502.2.rar
Mine (Version5.9RRE20748manilla.rar rom )has no oem folder because after v5 i started combining dsms which makes it lose the oem.

sorry to post this in general. but i have a desire and it comes with QuickOffice standart... i would like to put custom rom on it but i like the QuickOffice because i get alot of mails containing .doc files. and here comes my question is there amy custom rom s containing the QuickOffice apk. or am I going to have to keep my standart rom if i whant to keep QuickOffice apk. In advance thk. and plzz dont ban me if this is the completely wrong forum to put this ....

If you want Quickoffice you'll have to pull it from your stock rom and putted it on the rooted rom as Quickoffice is considered warez and cannot be distributed on XDA.

You could always make a custom rom yourself and turn the cab into a package you can put in the rom (there are numerous utilities here that will let you do that). The only thing is that you have to keep the rom to private use and you can't distribute it.

Just for future reference, Android uses .apk packages, not .cab packages.

[Q] How to create a new Windows Mobile ROM?

Hi all!
I am a new man to develop ROM. Now I had been assigned a job to create a Windows Mobile ROM. But I know nothing about it. I have many questions:
1. What work cycle I should follow for this job?
2. I had ever compiled Windows CE 6.0. And I had NK.bin after compilation. Can I use this as a kernel in Windows Mobile?
3. What tools I should use to build ROM?
4. Suppose I had already create a ROM, hwo to depoly it into Mobile Phone?
I hope some expert with experience about this can help me, and told me how to do. Thank you very much!

First, we need to know which device the ROM is for. Each Windows Mobile ROM is device specific.
Then you need to decide which version of WM you want to include.
Also, there are several tools (called "kitchens" for cooking the ROM) available on these forums. OSKitchen and Ervius Visual Kitchen are the two that most people use.
And you need to have some kind of understanding of the ROM structure of a Windows Mobile ROM and which files are responsible for which part of the OS.

I had downloaded these two applications. Now I can use erviusKitchen to dump a ROM downloaded from HTC offical web-site. But I don't know how to change the DEVICE, Language and so on. All those are read only.

Keyboard layout
Hello,
thanks for the ROM.
Unfortunately, it has change the modelname from T7575 to T7576​​. My German keyboard is no longer correct, especially the FN-occupancy.
Despite German keyboard layout is z and y swapped.
How can I change the deviceid of HTC T7576 ​​7 Pro to the original (7575), so that I can reflash a ROM by ansar.
Where can I find an original ROM from T-Mobile for the T7575?

Anyone else have this: When I do a search in contacts it shows only Facebook contacts. It does not matter if I even disable whole Facebook contacts from showing, it will not find any contacts from Outlook contact lists?
Just to be clear, the contacts are in the list and showing, just the search function does not find them...

Flashed 7713=problem gone. Seems little faster too.

Yeah I dont know, seemed strange to me. Reset possibly would have fixed it, but I flashed the 7713. It seems faster, but I dont know.

Succes with the rom but!... Is it normal that i can deploy the advanced config. but i can not start it from my windows phone???

TouchXperience has the same problem at Mango , i heard something that sideloaded apps cant use native code or sm, at the moment. So some File Explorers , Regedit wont work in some cases but it seems to be OEM specific cause at my LG Accent CHanger Works but TouchXpierience wont start .

Hmmm tell me, for what you Mango 7714 when 7713 work great ??? This is the same system and now, when you have Advanced Config Tool for Mango it's working perfect.
