Yes, any Apache rom should work as long as it is not designated as a carrier specific rom. For instance, some of the custom roms have the Sprint ExtRom built in. However, this rom from Helmi should work for all Apaches.

CDMA dial up connection Numbers are same for all operator(as i know)

I do have one question.. would it be possible to get a "basic/light" version of the ROM without so many apps installed.
For example without, Adobe reader, voice command, all the ringtones/pictures, SPB, etc...

Why?
Just disable the stuff. It is not taking up any of your usable memory. Also, check out some of the custom roms that are available at ppcgeeks.com. They are all based off of Helmi's previous releases of 3.3 and 3.5

Note that the newest ROM is now R4 and the link on the first page won't work as the files have all been re-arranged. I'm happily using a ROM I created from R3, as the R4 Kitchen seems to have some issues along with it's "creamy goodness".
If you go to the ppcgeeks FTP site and browse to Apache;Latest Kitchen, you'll see the new Kitchen.

I believe that WM6VoIP.CAB is for pocket pc.
well, i instaled it on my SPV E650, the plugin appears on the home screen but it says something like "Appels Internet: Service bloqué"... i think that Orange France does not allowed us to get acces or something like that.
Who knows how to make it work ?

Has anyone found a way to make voip work with this S710 device? Does it work with the .cab in this thread? I am desperately in need for such a solution.

I also dumped my ROM according to the wiki, but I'm afraid there are files missing. For example "coredll.dll" (539040 bytes) which is read-only, hidden, system and in ROM does not appear in my dump. I found unicode references in Part00 or Part01, but the viewimgfs tool can not extract from these parts.
Anyhow, ftg888 is right, a flash tut would be highly appreciated

It seems to be a hybrid between the HTC S710 and S730, but is CDMA based.

1. Backlight failure: Phone kept going black/no screen image. These people did a great job fixing it for me:

How can i change the os version that is shown when booting the device up? you know the one under the ipl/spl and gsm?
i don't know how to edit exactly, but im sure that done on the same base rom not on the sys or oem folders, because when you have 4.0.0.1 base rom and put sys and oem folders for another rom version on it, will show 4.0.0.1
about changing OS number and build you can find how to do it on wiki
It's done by hex-editing, but I can't tell you how. Perhaps someone else can shed some light on this.

C0rnholio got to the bottom of this in the Blackberry Connect hacking thread, post 152 here. Its really useful there as the blackberry connect software appears to be restricted to certain OS versions, but its a righteously heinous hack to pull off.
Anyone interested in modifying one of the wizard WM6 roms with this hack and posted the updated version? Another Rom builder was going to create a special BBC version of his ROM, but upgraded to another phone before he got to it....would be very useful to a small segment of the community!

i have a camera problem after installing Android on my Polaris 100.When i turn on my camera it gives me just a green screen and after a while the OS gives me the message that the process camera.android.com crashed unexpectedly.
I follow the installation to nand steps, that are posted in this forum by l1q1d ,i use the latest kernel 2.6.32 and the latest froyo release "Incubus26Jc_'s_Super_FroYo_RLS16",i create the nbh file using the latest 1.04 atools,and install the android using install.sh script.I tried different radio rom versions,i tried my original radio rom 1.58.XX.XX ,also 1.59.46.12 and 1.65.38.14 and 1.64.XX.XX ,i tried also My Warm Donut Android release but the camera won't work.On my WM6 and on WM6.5 cooked rom the camera works perfectly ,so my conclusion is that this is not a hardware problem.What should i do,any ideas.
I like very much the Droid OS and i want to use it but this problem is very annoying,i search the forum for users with similar problem and i found some threads but they were useless cause the posts does not contain any particular resolutions for this problem.
I will appreciate any help that i can get.

i finished with my Android experiments now i'll post the results.First i have to say that i didn't succeed to have a working camera on my Android NAND installation .Like l1q1d advace me for all my installations i used kernel 2.6.25,i use 3 version of radio ROM 1.58 (21.23/25.14/26.20) i installed androidupdate from l1q1d sourceforge site,and i use nbh file from his "Kaiser thread".
Now the results by Android Releases:
1.Latest Froyo Release:
Installation failed!
System message during installation:Install module failed.Could not install for this kernel.
2.Latest Froyo Unodex-en (from sourceforge)
Installation succeeded.
1.58.21.23-Camera gives green screen
1.58.25.14-Camera flickering in all kind of colors and shuts down after a while.
1.58.26.20-Camera flickering in all kind of colors and shuts down after a while.
3.Latest Gingerbread (26.12 from sourceforge)
Installation failed!
System message:No space left on device cannot extract data.
4.Barebones deodex
Installation failed!

Sorry to mention that but i tried also with kernel 2.6.25 with same result,which kernel exactly has a camera support?And could you be more accurate which radio version the Incubus RLS16 is working WITH camera support,is there any chance to have a working android installation with all my communications and features working,i didn't ask much,just want to use my phone for calls,wifi,BT ,GPS and camera thats all.

The camera is a very basic feature of every modern phone i don't think i ask for too much,or what can i do with phone that i can't make phone calls.I'm ok with the bugs on your currently developing OS but this is something that i need to have,just to enjoy my PDA and the Droid OS,sorry

Everything works! but not yet stable.

-The camera takes pictures only when switching to video mode error.
-The front camera is not working.
-FM radio does not work.

Those are the problems that are common to any polaris kernel and build in existance right now.
HI, i still can´t make my camera work, i have a polaris 100, please hepl a nooby
use 2.6.25 kernel in order to make camera working.
I use 2.6.32 and camera works fine. With radio 1.64.08.21 calls and camera didn't work, and i dwonload radio 1.59.46.12 and all works fine.

Well, you can only uninstall the UI shell of the UC browser, not the low-level code. Just like you can remove IE from Windows but IE dynamic libraries are still there. I guess DFT is supported by the company behind UC browser so they add it into the ROM. This is understandable but we need a clean ROM after all.
Totally unacceptable that UC Browser is in it. What kind of access does the app have? What do the lower level chunks do? Ditto on wanting a clean ROM. Can ChevronWP7 sponsor a clean ROM?

We do not blame the developers, we just want a clean ROM. Did we ask too much?
I have an issue with this rom. I install it just fine and it starts up. I can initially access the sideloaded apps that are installed (bazaar, Registry Editor), But once i sync it to zune, i can no longer access any of the sideloaded apps. When i tap on the sideloaded apps, the screen flashes a little then nothing. I also cant install anything from my computer with the error (Deployment FAILED with the following ERROR: 0x81030120). Even legitimate dev registration (student account) didn't help.
After the 4th time to flash this rom i think i figured it out. Before syncing with zune, i changed the following registry values.

So far it seems to be working. Not sure if changing these registry values is what helped but my focus is staying unlocked and working fine

When activating the camera and pulse launches the flash but the image is in black, and without flash, some user feels the same?
Instead, the video recording if it is all well with your light

Another problem identified, the wi-fi does not start, turning the lever sometimes fails, you have to disconnect and reconnect to the wi-fi to boot.

With this version v5 DFT does not support the installation of files with Phone7Market xap, xap I had to install the Windows Phone Device Manager, this rom all are errors.

I got the same - when you're in a low-light situation, the phone takes the photo AFTER the led light has turned off again. I think it's only about half a second too late with taking the picture, but yeah.
I wanted to ask, did anyone get Internet Sharing to work with this rom? I know its busted on the CDMA Verizon Spark_W rom, but I wanted to know if it was working okay in this Spark GSM rom?

Internet Sharing works in this rom but the camera flash.. it doesn't work as it should. The mango rom was perfect so i think that i will downgrade to mango if there isn't a update or tool to fixt it.
