Im trying to upgrade my jammin with the latest dopod rom ..Ive got hold of the romupdateutility.exe which bypasses the vendor id but now when i run the .exe it comes up with the error
'ERROR [240] File open'
As anyone got any ideas as to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance
any ideas guys ???
Thanks
You most likely need to copy the nk.nbf file into the same directory as the romupdateutility.exe file.
I am having the same problem with my new mda IV compact i have tried to load the rom in every different way but still the same message comes up, i am trying to change radio settings to the 06 version. i have done the spl load but can't do a flash rom. any ideas please
I have the same problem i have installed HardSPL
But when i try to run the roms KaiserCustomRUU this error pops up
is there a certain program i should be using to run it? or did i save it wrong?
Make sure the phone is in active sync mode. My diamond i had this problem then realized that i had it in disk drive mode. switched it back and i was fine.
hey.. problem solved for me.
Click that "View README" button right next to the llast button you click before you get the error.
Where is that file located on your computer? For me it didnt load, but it said "could not find file at c:\windows\system32\readme.doc".
I took the cue, and moved my *.nbh file into the system32 folder. Voila! It was weird because I was running the ruu.exe file from the desktop (on a vista PC). I guess for some reason it was looking in system32??
So give the above a try. Might work for ya

Anyone have a Today PlugIn for HTC's Audio Manager?
Here is the cab.
Removed the option.xml, the dsm and the rgu files.
Imported the registery settings from the rgu to the cab file.
All the other files reside in the windows folder.
Untested though, but should work
[edit]
see my post here for the working version.
the-equinoxe,
NOpe, didnt work for me, it says, The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate.
thx man
thx now testing on pandora´s rom
will sign the files and remake the cab, standby for the update ..
error instaling "the setup was unssesfull" any ideas why??
g4 cid locked
2 gigs mini sd
ipl/spl 2.26.0001
rom 4.0.0.0 WWE
radio 2.47.11
protocol 4.1.13.24
ext rom faria v5.0
even with signed dll's it is unsuccessfull in installing..
I am missing something here..
WmpPluginToday.dll is the culprit, it doesn't allow to be installed by cab (signed or not.).
FIXED see my post below
well it installed for me butIt's nowhere to be found. ROFL any ideas?
success !!
Just installed my newer version, and it works (after reset of course)
Had to change the "self registering" and the "shared file" flag..
Working version attached.
Nope, it's still saying the same thing to me Equinoxe.

If you have downloaded the new version, and still get an untrusted error, you should install the following certificate.
unzip, copy to ppc and double click on certificate (on ppc not pc!!)..

I flashed my HD2 to the newest official ROM and i discovered that it's not possible to rename and/or delete system files like manila files anymore!
Why is this??
With my old ROM i could rename manila files to *.bak and then delete them using Total commander but with the new ROM this isn't possible! I'm really desperate, I don't know what to do!
Could it be that HTC made the new firmware more secure?
Any solutions???
I found out that I can't copy my welcomehead to the windows folder anymore...it just wouldn't let me...
there has to be a registry entry somewhere, just can't find it at the moment.

I dont have the phone yet or WM6.5 so I cant comment too much but you could try reflashing the rom and see how that affects things. Did you flash the rom using a gold card or just update an official rom?
Hi may i ask where you got this official rom update from? as i have not been able to find it on any htc website

Sorry for hijacking your thread dude! Do what this guy says, try to re-flash your Rom and see if that helps.

Rename your new welcomehead from welcomehead.192 to welcomehead.193 and copy it into the windows folder. Then use the Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 (it needs MS Framework 3.5 to be installed to work) and go to Splash Screen. There you have to click the first green entry and change the path from windows/welcomehead.192.png to windows/welcomehead.193.png. Then Softreset. Now you have a new welcomehead, even with new ROM. Have fun!

Make it the way i told you, you don't have to change something in the windows folder to have a new startup screen.
^I did it and it worked great. thanks
But there are some other issues...for example if you want to enable navi panel or hidden games you need to copy some files into the start menu folder but that is not possible because the ROM won't let you.
any solution for the others?
Hi,
I have an unlocked Treo Pro GSM phone and after doing a lot of reading I have managed to dump its ROM and I now have the four RAW files. However, I still can't find a way to rebuild the ROM and create a .nbh file out of them. Could someone please point me in the right direction or help me by rebuilding the ROM? I know I should only need part01 and part02.
I'm currently downloading Treo Pro kitchen and I assume it will be possible to rebuild the ROM with it, I just need some guidance. If anybody wants the RAW files please let me know and I'll upload them for you.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Using the kitchen posted here I have managed to create a os-new.nb file by clicking on Extra Buttons and then RAWS2NBH then I got a message "Need the ROM nbmerge command? I clicked Yes then got the message Execute NbhUtils to build nbh file? I clicked Yes, the NBH Utility pops up and I select PANT100 under Target Device and finally under NBH Items I select the path of the os-new.nb file for the OS item and clicked on Build NBH! I chose the output location but after I get a message saying that it is done there is no nbh file in the location I selected.
