Hello buddy.
Many universal devices shipped with TV out cable (USB connector with RCA output) , and unfortunately I don't have one! but my pal said that he can't use it when trying display to TV any longer since he decided to upgrade to WM6.. any option to fix it? it's only work with WM5..
AFAIK we don't have the TV-out built-in to HTC universal, that sounds more like XDA Flame to me.
Hello, baymon.
I know about O2 flame well, but DOPOD 900 has a TV out cable with RCA jacks at first release on market (similar cable with O2 flame or maybe Sony DSC camera TV output) shipped in it's box (not optional)... when I bought new one, and i noticed that cable is not included anymore... the problem is TV output only works with it's original ROM (WM5). I've search in net but it's make me confused cause no information about DOPOD 900 with the 'weird' cable. How come?
ALL of the devices that have TV out have special proprietary usb pinout.
universal doesn't.
so don't even try.
I have a TY-out,but it doesn't work
hardware is not supposed
tv out of what kind?
i know universal has no tv out capabilities. its not like ipod.

I have a HTC Touch - Diamond, i would like to see movies on my TV (TV-OUT) using the mini usb.
If i connect the following adapter: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.9286
and then connect it to a VGA-RCA adapter - Will i be able to see on the TV ?
Does anyone have a cheaper way (Than HTC's) to do the above ?
if you have a Xbox 360 that's the easiest way to go about it.
You can see movies on TV with touch pro not diamond.
exactly, TD does not support tv-out

Hi,
I've recently brought a Raphael and await it to arrive tomorrow...
Anyway, browsing the web I found the following cable and some info that this phone supports TV-out. Anyone familiar with this and knows if this cable could work with this phone? How's the movie-playback quality with TV-out?
Cable:

You shouldn't even have to buy that cable, though it is nice find. Yes it supports tv out you just have to buy a Video Ipod cable for something like 3 bucks and use the usb adapter that should come with the phone. You will also have to look around for a cab that will perform a register change to allow it to work.
Welcome to the world of the Rapheal now learn to earch the board for easy answers like this. It makes it easier for erybody.
Thanks for your reply.
I've heard about the iPod cable "hack", but my question is concerning this particular cable... and since I didn't find any information about it (through a search) I thought I could make a new post...
Anyway, thanks
that doesnt look like it uses htc's video out pins. i really doubt it would work. the "hack" is just to change state in the registry with the ipod cable to launch the tv easy program selecting thingy since the ipod cable doesnt change the system state settings. it still works without it. i would look on amazon for the ipod video cable because last time i looked it was for under $1, and also confirmed working. i think that cable you linked is for specific digital cameras that support video out over standard 5pin mini usb. htc has extra pins (the 5 data and 6 extra i believe, video and left and right audio like rca cables) and a trapezoidal plug to distinguish extusb.
What about the cable that's Mini USB on one end, and RED/WHITE/YELLOW for standard tv out on the other end? I've seen em online for sale. Wouldn't that be simpler?
You can be the first to try it and report back. My guess would be that HTC used different pins with in the usb plug.
I've brought the cable mentioned, I'll report back once I have it
tv out
Ok not sure as to what hack your referring to but i think this is it right here.
Nue made a program that does exactly what is mentioned above as far as the ipod cable or any other but here read for your self

i have a burning question for all of you android/HTC experts out there....please help me
i intend to buy the sensation but i want to know:will i be able to connect it to a tv ?
the problem in my case is that my tv (and in fact none of those i could have access to) has a hdmi (or usb) port.
Therefore the only remaining option would be through a RCA cable.
I found on ebay a rca- usb cable... no boxes no nothing ...just the wire and the connectors...price about 5 $.. (i'm sorry i cant post the link.....)
will it work?
why not? i know rca is analog and usb is digital... hence my dilemma
i also know the sensation can do TV-out via MHL A/V link, but MHL is only going to work on the latest types of tvs....right?

It will work on any lcd or led tv which has a hdmi port(and as u stated ur tv has one),so it will definately work, normal hdmi cable or the cable which u have mentioned will not work, the official hdmi cable including mhl adaptor is available here:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/htc-sensation-mhl-hdmi-out-cable-ac-m490-p29367.htm?referer=aff_aw_102463
Regards....
sorry i meant to say my tv does not have hdmi or usb...
so i guess i'll have to do without....
thanks though....
So there is absolutely nothing i could do to connect the sensation to a tv using rca conectors????
nothing money could buy??
Since HDMI is digital and RCA is analog, you would need a converter box. Something like this could do it:

thank you very much.....
->[Q] Tablet with digital audio out [tablet->optical(toslink or coax)cable->DAC]
Hello,
I've tried the search and couldn't find anything relating to my issue.
I need a portable device/music player that has the ability to stream digital audio to my DAC (digital to analog converter).
I would like to listen to my music in my car using this tablet/music player. I have a DAC/Signal prosessor which has both optical coax and toslink inputs to recieve the signal so either one is fine.
Here is the signal path explained once again:
tablet -> optical toslink or coax cable -> DAC -> any given audio system (In my case also car audio system)
Please help me choose a tablet or help me find a way to do this. I know that some tablets have hdmi out, but it gets a little too tricky to seperate the digital audio signal from hdmi port to spdif, am I right?
Any help is greatly appreciated,
-Tersi
Guys, I don't mean to be impatient but I thought this was the place to get some answers to my problem.
Is there a way to send digital audio via usb port? I think there are ways to convert digital audio from usb to spdif..
Or could there maybe be a docking station, that has a digital audio output?
Please share your knowlage of the tablet world!
I am also looking for this too! I want to use a tablet as a car pc and run the audio out of it digitally to prevent all noise and ground loop headaches.
Did anyone ever get anywhere with this. I'm looking to do the exact same thing and the HDMI converter kit I bought is useless so I'm looking for another go around.
ainol novo basic
I just received an ainol novo basic w/ ICS (mcbub.com from LA). It uses a MIPS processor so not all apps are 100% compatible, however I am able to use it as intended (music player). If you tether you can use pandora, slacker, etc.
I take the HDMI out into a monoprice 5557 (sorry no url)
HDMI converter which outputs toslink, analog, RCA.
I use this in a home application (110v), however they are low power and you can use it in a car.
Be careful you need the Ainol Basic because it has the HDMI output. The paladin (which I also have) does not.
I'm sure there are others but for $130 I doubt you will do better, especially because it's running ICS also.
I use RCA optical into my Fiio DAC (sounds better). Toslink works too.
Monoprice switch uses ~3W on 5V, the Ainol is powered by miniusb.
I'm sure you have an onboard DAC (Fiio is excellent tho), but if you dont I recommend it. It has issues w/ 5.1 audio tho, so only pass it stereo.
I haven't tested 5.1 sound on it, although the specs say it will pass it. Your DAC will probably be the issue.
HTH.
Is this the only tablet that can do that? I was also considering this. Doing digital to the back of the car and then running it to a powerful car audio system.
I am also looking for this tablet or solution to this problem. Anybody knows?

Did some searching, it is not possible. Hoever, there is MHL available, with adapters going aroind 6$ on ebay.
I did some searching but only phone I found capable of video-out via the audio port is the original Galaxy S.
