Ringing time in missed call - HTC Tornado

At first sorry for my english.
A few years ago I had a mobile phone Siemens CX65. It had one briliant function - when I had a missed call, I saw on displej how long the phone was ringing. It was a standard function of this phone.
Is it possible to make some registry change or aplikacation to get this function on my Qtek 8310? Thanks to answer.

I've never heard of this. I would recommend trying this in the developers' forum.
Generally there are operator settings which determine how many times the phone will reing before being forwarded to voicemail.
Most people probably don't imagine a need for knowing how many tiems the phone rang as it was probably between 1 and 5.

VOIP software hangs phone

Hi,
I bought the Excalibur and the Vox 'cause I though it would have been great being able to place VOIP calls from my phone, using the same setup I use with my ATA.
The files to enable VOIP and MS phones have been circulating since a while, but even though I tried couple of packages I still have some issues.
The problem I have is that, for some strange reason, when the VOIP cab is installed my phone sometimes loses "Calling and receiving" capability.
Sometimes I trie to place a phone call and the phone hangs, I can only switch it off and on again. Sometimes I even have to remove the SD card otherwise it will keep doing a Reboot Loop.
Other times I receive an SMS for a missed call, as if I had been offline. When I then try to call back my phone hangs.
This bug seems to affect only the Calls and not the SMS functionality.
Has anybody experienced the same issue?
Thanks,
Ka.
I also have the same problems except for the SD rebooting.
I installed the VOIP client from the workarround posted here and I also experience the same problems:
1) phone seems to work fine until I decide to place a call, when I finish entering the numbers and I hit the Call button, the phone does nothing (not even the beep) and from that point I know that I can't place calls (dial pad doesn't even works on home screen). I have to reboot.
2) I receive SMS from missed incoming calls. If I call my S710 from another phone I get a calling tone and then the answering service, but the S710 does nothing.
I had email accounts configured and I thought this problem was from GPRS not letting GSM calls come in (as it says in other threads) but now I have no active email accounts, no GPRS traffic and it is ever worst (3 to 4 reboots a day!)
I honestly don't remember this problem before VOIP client installed.
Anyone has this simptoms???
I do have the same probs
Probably others aren't experiencing the same because they disable the VOIP when no Wifi is available. I'll try to reinstall the VOIP Cab and try that way.
Bought the S710 for it's VOIP cababilities and possibility to hook it to my PBX and finally feel the freedom of VOIP (Ok, bit exagerating but you get my point ).
Anyway, since we're two at the moment, promised to keep you posted.
Thanks for your help.
Ka.
kast did you improve your VoIP configuration tool? I once tried it, but it never worked. I gave you feedback in another thread but never heard of you
same probs too

Hi there,
sorry for taking so much time. Actually been quite busy lately and well, ok, must admin left this VOIP thing a bit aside.
Anyway, would you mind trying this version, hope it will work a bit better.
Tested with the provider you sent me and it seems to work.
(This is not a Cab Install thing, been packed up in couple of minutes, please unzip it and run it from your mobile.)
I think I'll get back to this so stay tuned for some little enhancements.
Ka.
COOOL.....Works on my modded Tornado with wm06...great!!!!Thanks!!!!
Hello Kast,
After my last post, I unistalled the VOIP software from within the phone's start>Settings>Remove Programs>Sleuth's WM6VoIP
I got this message "Sleuth's WM6VoIP was not completly removed. Do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs?", I didn't remove it.
I then changed the Settings>phone>Internet Calling>"Use Internet Calling" to "Never".
Since then I haven't experienced any troubles at all and I haven't rebooted the phone for some days now! problem solved but no VoIP!
I'll try your VoIP files and see what happends.
Cheers
P.S. My setting for VoIP was "whenever available" but i had WiFi off 99% of the day. (some days even 100%).

Can't receive incoming calls

Hi there, I am using VJgrace latest 3.4 ROM, I realized that nowadays, sometimes I would not be able to receive incoming calls, my friends and relatives have complained that I do not pick up their calls, they even showed me the proof of their call logs. They said there were dialing tone. So one day, I tried for myself and true enough, at times, the phone will just light up from idle, but it will not say that there is an incoming calls. When this happen, I cannot make outgoing calls as well, when I try to dial someone, it just hang there.
Any solution? Is this a radio or ROM problem?
I have run the GSM update
I faced the same problem too. I thought my friends were joking. just called myself to confirm. true enough the phone lights up for a second or two then it goes back to sleep.
this is serious. am thinking of going back to WM 5
Really? Wow. That's a new one. I guess I haven't seen this. illi - would you really go *all* the way back to WM5? Are you saying this is a problem in every WM6 ROM you have installed? I'm surprised... I've never seen it on my phone. But I don't get too many calls during the day. And I reboot my phone every 2 or 3 days just for good measure.

i cant afford to loose calls. some friends had complained since a few months back. so i suspect its all WM6 ROMs not just vj's.
i think it happened when the device is syncing because i receive lots of emails. so at that time the gprs/edge is being use. THIS IS MY WILD GUESS ONLY!! I noticed it (the device awakes then back to sleep) once while on active sync and at that moment emails were being downloaded from my email server.
How can yew trouble shoot this problem?

Do you have this checkbox selected? I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but it's one thing I saw.

not too sure but will check next time i active sync. anyway i rarely sync with my pc so i doubt thats the problem - i noticed once while hooked to pc the phone awakens and then sleep. i use mail2web.com's microsoft exchange to sync my emails. i active sync only to do spring cleaning on my device and SD.
if karhoe subscribe to the same telco as me than i suspect its the operator. (hello karhoe you there;-))
I have this problem even when the phone is not connected to Active Sync, when i'm outside. The phone just light up, and then poof, gone. Well, I am using DiGi telco. But I don't have this problem when using Andot's PEE, don't have it when using 3.0 ROM, only recently when I started using 3.1, had this problem, after so long, then use 3.4, still have it
I had this issue with WM5.. now with WM6 I didn't found (yet) this issue. (using EA ROM)
This is a quote of one of my posts (Oct 7 2006, 18:43, modaco):
i think this is a software issue..
i have a spv c600 and have problem with the telephony part (and many other spv c600 users)
1. some times when somebody is calling me the phone does not announce in any way that i have a call.
2. other times when somebody is calling me the phone send automatically a busy tone to the caller and again does not announce me that somebody has called me.
3. and other times when somebody is calling me, the caller is announced by the robot that 'the user is in an uncovered area or has the phone turned off' or it divert it to voice mail (if the WM user has voice mail active. i have it off)
however, point 1 and 2 can be 'detected' by eye on call (phonesharpen). only detected (no answer, no nothing).
- in the first case, a window with caller information is displayed as long as the caller is calling you.
- in the second case, a window appears and disparears extremly fast
to bad that the phonesharpen does not log the detected calls . i have mailed them about this, but on answer..
i gues the problem is the native telephone application
so .. in conclusion WM smartphones are not recommended for people who want to use them as a phone.. who knows what important calls you miss.. i hope this will be fixed someday

@karhoe you should tell this to NiTroGeN and to VJgrace
Gentlemen, I suspect this issue is somehow connected to currently selected homescreen. I had this issue on WM6 build 18120 homescreen with VOIP plugin, but when I chose another one not containing VOIP info, this issue has gone

I tend to believe that it is caused by either of these problems:
1 - the telco (I'm subscribing to the same telco as karhoe)
2 - the voip plugin on the Homescreen
This is what I'll do: I shall deactivate the voip plugin. But I cant afford to unsubscribe from my current telco; it offers the cheapest unlimited data plan. LOL!!
I have a feeling that it is related to VOIP, I did configure my VoIP using the xml method, and then I also installed the VoIP fix button for communication manager. Now im using HTC Home screen and so far, so good

Call waiting bug

Hi,
I found a bug in my HTC TyTN II: when I call someone that is already involved in a conversation with other person, my HTC doesn't show me that I am in call waiting state (only say Dialing). Of course, he must have call waiting active, if not I receive the Busy notification.
This is very annoying: I disturbe him because I don't know that he is already talking and continue ringing (
I installed a lot of ROMs on my PDA (now I have L29 Diamond V5), but this bug was present all the time. Anyone now how to fix this?
Thanks a lot
This is funny
I don't belive that you are ok with this bug : check your Kaiser's. Nobody have nothing to say? Dutty, Schap, Laurentius, HyperDragon, NOBODY?
have u tested this scenario with some other phone?
Bug
Yes, that's how I realised that is a bug. A Nokia is telling you in this situation that you are in state "Call waiting". Try'it yourself
do u mean to say that u put ur own SIM card in nokia handset and then tried this? or u tried with some other person's SIM card in his/her nokia?
Phones used
I mean that I use 2 Kaiser's and 3 Nokia for testing. Every time Nokia corectly report "Call waiting", but Kaiser is reporting always "Calling", without making any difference. Please, try yourself a test (problably most phones will report corectly "Call waiting").
Thanks,
i've Elfin (HTC Touch) with my own cooked ROM. and i never faced this problem. and i dont really think that this is the ROM's problem. can u confirm this problem after using only ONE sim card with all these handsets?
Trying
I made a short test: I used another SIM with my Kaiser and the same problem. Also I can tell you that this new SIM used with a LG Shine show the corect message: "Call waiting". So, not the SIM is the problem
flash a shipped ROM to ur phone and test try this out to see if u face this problem.
On AT&T in the US I have never had a phone give me a call waiting message. What network does this? Sounds interesting but how does your phone know if the person you are calling is already on a call? As far as I know there is nothing in the switch to report that back to you, just a busy/not busy response. If the person has call waiting it sends not busy and you will ring their phone. Maybe this is just the verbage of your other phones while dialing? And does hearing a couple beeps in the background while you are talking to someone really bother you? I find it nice to be notified that someone else is calling. No ideas here though sorry.
Flash ROM
Sirooga: it's VODAFONE, and yes, the network know that you are involved in a call and send a different signaling to the new caller. That's why you must see "Call waiting" on screen.
Htctouchp: I change a lot of times the ROM. Now is L26 Diamond V5, Radio: 1.65.20.29. What do you mean by flashing a shipped ROM? Other version (if yes, which one) or original version (I have original version when I bought the phone and the same story).

its a strange problem really...i guess u better get ur phone to the service centre (after installing original ROM) and ask them to solve ur problem.
yes i have the same problem its driving me nuts... i need that option which shows if the other person is on call waiting or not. i dont want my phone showing thats its dailing and the other person is actually on a call.
hey everyone.. its nothing wrong with the phone or the sim/operator.. its an issue in windows mobile, it doesnt show the notification.. it seems microsoft missed the feature.. somebody gotta develop it.. and i've got some good news over places, but havent tested myself.. it seems that the samsung omnia (wm phone) have this feature displayed correctly.. mayb someone could rip it off the omnia's rom and make it work on other wms.. then its gonna b a solved problem for all..

Dialing forever on uitgoing calls, and no incoming calls

Every now and then, probably after using it for a couple of days, my TC gets problems with the phone function. First, it will not notify me of incoming calls, these get diverted to the voice mail. Second, when I try to make a call, it starts to dial, but the dialing never succeeds. After a minute or so of dialing it just ends the call.
I found out the following funny thing: when it is dialing, if I push the off-button at that time, the screen goes off and the sound comes on. I'm even properly connected to the person I'm trying to call!! So the connection was already there, I just can't hear anything, neither can the other person, until I push the off-button.
This behaviour doesn't happen all the time, just after a day or so of use. The solution is to soft-reset the device, not really a solution though in my opinion. Switching the phone off and on in the comm.manager doesn't help. Is there any bettter solution? I'm using the standard dutch ROM.
Thanks! Wouter

Does a different radio ROM help?
I'm a bit scared for doing that... It hasn't always been like this, so I'd rather send it back I think.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem since a week with bepe 0.67 rom.
Please, anyone with the same problem?
sounds a little similar to this...

hopefully that ^ solves the problem
Thanks for your reaction. It's not the same problem though, when my problem occurs it stays. I can never make a phone call normally again anymore, nor receive a call. I have to soft reset.

Do you have Webis Note2Self installed?
I cloned my device's software and settings to a new one from the shelve. After a few days the problem occured again. So it's probably not a hardware problem in my case. With the problem occuring, I changed the phone settings from Auto to GSM and the UMTS settings from Auto to GSM(900+1800)+UMTS(2100), both didn't solve the problem when it was occuring.
Then I opened Memmaid and discovered there was an instance of Note2Self (Webis) under the running processes. I closed that one down and closed Memmaid and then the problem was gone!!
On their forum, other users report about audio issues. I'm looking in to this further. I'm using N2S 2.01 build 2326.
[edit]
Yes! Upgrading to version 2.03 solved my problem! Finally!

Yes, I am!!
I'll upgrade, thanks.
I had the same issue with the standard WM6 ROM thats the whole reason I changed to Diamond R4 ROm, has not happened since then. One thing I did notice is that I had my phone in my hand and it came out of sleepmode by it's self and 3 minutes later after putting it back to sleep I receive a message to say I had voice mail. Now I am thinking that the phone knew a call was comming in but it was to lazy to ring so it just sent it to voice mail. When I tried to call voice mail the phone connected but there was no sound. I had to power cycle the phone for it to work again.

PROBLEM: Microphone has delay when answering calls

Hi all,
when I want to answer a call, I have to wait for 1-2 seconds until I can say hello etc.
If I press Answer and say something, other side cannot hear me at the beginning..
If I'm calling somebody, it's working correctly (after short vibrate I can speak with other side with no problems..)
does somebody have same problem? or is there a solution for it?
thanks for every response
Maybe it's M$ way of making sure the other party doesn't hear the vibrate in there ear, it must sound awful. Just a thought but have u tried turning off the vibrate on connect? I have and nobody has complained they can't hear me but then again i don't get that many calls.
vibrate on connect is working only when you call somebody, not when you're called...this option has nothing to do with that delay
I have the same issue. Not so many ppl are talking about this (i think this is the 2nd topic about it, and the first one had a short life-cycle) , so i assume this can be country specific (i'm also from slovakia and my provider is also orange). Btw, this small delay is also noticeable on my friends kaiser.
Same here
Hi Guys,
I'm also from Slovakia and the same issue here as well. I think flgm is right, this could be a country problem. Btw, who is your provider? Mine is Orange...
sorry, just noticed yours is Orange as well. So I think that means problem solved....
Hi guys..so, I've tested it with O2 provider and the other side said that it was all okay...so it looks like it's Orange-specific :-(
Yes, I had the same experience with T-Mobile, wonder why I didn't have that problem with my previous phones though.
so..we will wait for new radio fw..and maybe it will be fixed..
Yes, I think that should do it
as far as i can tell, this is a wm thing. happened on atom exec aswell
I am in Romania on Vodafone and I have the same problem. Press answer and count to 2 before the other side can hear me. Also, I have GPS lag.
Never happend on Kaiser.
hmm, hope there will be a reg fix for that
try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2738077&postcount=12
works well for me
I'm on Orange France.
The same happens on my Kaiser and my TouchPro.
Im on o2 i have the same problem, takes 1 to 2 seconds before other party can hear me
You could disable HTC's dialer and let WM dialer take over. You won't have the problem anymore.
(and also no more flip to mute or vibrate on connect)
Hi all,
I also encounter this issue with my TP, I'm from Holland and my TP has the original HTC rom and my provider is KPN. I don't think it's country related. It could be that not everyone has noticed this 2 second delay when answering a call. Hopefully this can be fixed with a radio update or some kind of tweak
Have the same issue (Vodafone, Holland). Though not many people complain about it, it is not more than 1 second.
It's the same thing for me and I'm in Sweden and on Telia, but I don't see that as a big problem though. Haven't had any complains yet..
I've tried to use Windows Dialer and there is no delay with it..BUT..the bluetooth icon is not showing when it's enabled and dialer screen is shown for about 2 second after the call has ended
PS: there is an application, that can vibrate when call is connected..http://htcs620.blogspot.com/2008/10/viborvanie.html (use google translator pls )
