Why does my clock keep changing every time I sync? - Palm Treo 750

Everytime (since we sprung forward) I sync my phone, my phone clock goes ahead and hour and I need to manually change it back.
Ideas?

Active sync has an option to sync the hour with the one on your pc. Check the pc time to see if it differs. Being an option you can disable it.
Cheers

Thanks but, unselecting sync time/date stops it from changing the time, but it doesn't solve the issue.
Both my phone and my PC are set to the same time and the same time zone. I suspect it is a DST issue, but am not sure how to fix it...

any outcome?
i have the same problem with my softbank x01ht but in the opposite direction.
i have to change the time one hour forward after i have done an activesync.
that is, time on my pc is 8.00 and the time on my softbank is 7.00
how do we solve this ?

Have you applied this Daylight savings time update.
Update for Windows Mobile (KB949168)

Good find!
Thanks mate!

Thanks, it fixed my XDA II with WM 6.1 too. Also in Melbourne.

I tried to install the above CAB file to my XDA II but it gives me a message
"WMDST2008-1.CAB is not a valid Windows CE Setup file"
Any suggestions?

What about Brisbane, QLD, Aus
Hi there,
I installed the update, but I am still having the problem. It seems to be applying daylight saving time to Brisbane. Any ideas?

I've bee having this problem as well since installing Window Mobile 6.1 (RUU_Polaris_HTC_WWE_3.13.405.0_radio_sign_25.85.30.07_1.59.42.15_Ship). I'v tried KB949168 as well but with no luck.
Is there a set of timezone files/registry entries/table somewhere I can manually edit ?

OK, it looks like you need to add the following registry entry to handle Brisbane
HKLM,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Timezones\260, TZI,
0x00000001,a8,fd,ff,ff,00,00,00,00,c4,ff,ff,ff,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,
00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00
After I did this I reapplied the timezone (changed to sydney then back to brisbane) and reset the time. Seems to all be good now.

Spoke too soon. Half an hour later and it reverted back to daylight savings time

Summertime!

Now we've put our clocks ahead in the UK (who forgot?) I see that my computer did this for me automatically. Why can't my xda iis do this?
Plus now all the times on my worldmate are wrong. My mate is Oz is only 7 hours ahead but worldmate says 8. There must be a BST setting that I've missed??
My IIi done it for me automatically
Hmm mine didn't, at least not at the 2am cutover...
my jam done mine automatically you sure you guys havent got it set to US in the calendar options and language settings?
My Qtek 9090 did !
My XDA2I did, and so did my XDA2. Possibly as a rresult of the last firmware upgrade. I don't remember it happening before.
My Qtek 9090 did correct the time automatically and issued a textbox informing me about it.
BUT: Now all items in my calendar are shifted one hour!!! I can't believe such a stupid bug!
I checked and confirmed that my time settings are on the same time zone, both laptop and Qtek 9090. Even doing a new sync did not solve this and at the end I had to correct the reoccuring events manually!
This is really a lame bug. Has this happend to anyone else, or have I done something really stupid?
Cheers,
vma
No such problem for me allthough I do recall it happening on my XDA2. Can't think of any settings that would effect it (other than maybe Clock which I have set as GMT London.)
Clock GMT / BST
XDA 1 ... adjusted to BST time ...clock changes BACK (by itself or maybe on sync?). If the GMT setting is changed, changes ALL calendar appointments! ... but changing the GMT setting back again resets all appointments.
Crap but I've come to expect that.
Anyone know how to fix the time to prevent reverting to GMT?
Cheers

Do you have your phone set to update in your time zone? It is one of the following registry keys to make the actual page appear under phone settings if you don't already have it:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting]
"ShowTimeZonesPage"=dword:1
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL]
"NITZEnable"=dword:1
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting]
"ShowNITZPage"=dword:1
Someone else can tell you which one of those it is (I think it is only one of those keys, for instance, I think all I did was change "ShowTimeZonePage" to 1. Someone with a larger brain than me can correct me though.
You can also user advanced config to configure this.

Do you have it set in Phone?
Menu -> Options -> Time Zones ?

O2 Orbit 2 didnt update time for BST

Am I alone in that my Orbit 2 didnt update to British Summer Time (GMT +1) but yet my Orbit did. Have I set something wrong
Any idea's
Thanks
Just checked mine and it's showing 21:19, so it seems to have gone back an hour rather than forwards.
I noticed this as well, but after a reset (soft boot) it did update correctly.
Just for the record mine worked fine. I woke up on Sunday to a little message box telling me it had changed the time automatically.
using bepes german (premium) 0.66 rom too, but it didnt change by default...
that was what i expected it to be, but it didnt adjust automatically... does it sync via gsm or gprs? maybe i didnt start a gprs-connection before i adjusted it manually!?
well, hopefully im not the only one... but as there is the option to switch automatically through time zone (settings - timezone), i guess it can adjust the clock using a gsm-signal from provider!?
on the other hand im more than satisfied with bepes roms, so i dont care about adjusting the clock manually. and sooner or later its autumn again...
At least Im not the only one then! lol If only smart phones were actually smart
Another question is why then after it didnt update did it not adjust the clock after I connected the phone to the computer by USB over active sync??
Man I love Windows Mobile
Not only did mine not update for DST, my alarms and schedules now run an hour later too, resco backup used to back my device up to the sd card at 2:30 am, this now happens at 3:30, and my alarm goes off an hour later.
Any ideas as to why this is happening? The times show up the same. But the schedule seems to have slipped by +1hr.

Clock problems

I have kind of a problem after installing new Udk ROM
After some hours, my Clock TimeZone switch to another one
I have configured it to GMT+1 Paris/Madrid and 4 hours later, the clock automaticly changes to another timezone...
I have been facing the same problem with the PhanQuang ROM
Is it normal ? do I have to patch my Cruise with some Cab Localized Install ?
Thank for your help!

And yes, I have Igo8 installed.
Is Igo8 the problem? there is a patch or I must to delete Igo8?
Thanks (and excuse me for my bad english)

Ok, it seems to function
mine is doing this now and I do not have Igo installed. but I do have co-pilot and tomtom7 running. I have noticed it even does it when not connected to the PC and the software is not running. I have turned off automatic network update. I will see if that fixes it.
I discovered yesterday that after syncing my phone with my PC (it was 6:48 PM), the phone clock was set to 5:48
- I changed the time zone from GMT+1 to GMT ==> The clock changes to 3:48 (Woot?!)
- I change it to GMT+3 ==> the clock changes to 6:48 (even Wooter)...
- It worked for me to set it back to GMT+1 and manually setting the time... now even a sync won't do any harm anymore...
Oh, and I'm running the official HTC ROM, nothing cooked...
Stefan
I turned off the auto adjust time and it seems to be working fine now.

How to stop clock auto adjust on sync?

How to stop autosync update of TP clock?
Hi all,
Great resource here. well done
I have been lurking around here for a few weeks and used many of the tweaks/edits which I thank you all for making available. Many hours of tweaking fun to be had..
My issue is small but increasingly annoying, when I sync my HTC Touch Pro to winxp netbook (eeepc901) somehow it adjusts the clock on the TP forward only one hour. (was like this out of the box before anything else I did to it)
I can change the time back after it has synchronised initially and then re-sync from the desktop and it wont replicate it again.
However, when i change the time back and unplug/un cradle then reconnect/sync again it will adjust +1 hrs again.
It doesn't do this on a straight USB data connection.
So I am thinking sync program issue right?
My eeepc and TP both have the same time zones set to Brisbane +10 and my bios is showing the same time. I have disabled the winXP time autoupdate service thinking that might have something to do with it in services.msc to no avail. On the TP I have tried both the settings for timezone update etc.
i have had a poke around in both active sync 4.5 and any TP settings/programs that I can think of with no effect. This has been the only real issue I have had so far, other than that after a few days getting use to this device I am very happy with it
Any help on this is appreciated.
Thanks
Bump!
patiently waiting
Are there settings in either active sync or on the pc or the phone where i can manage the clock update?
I noticed on the phone sync settings i have to uncheck "advanced radio button" to make it detectable on the deksktop.
yeah, it is something annoying with brisbane timezone. there are a few threads here with it. if you search trhough my post, you may find an answer

Ah that be the state gov' not allowing DST right..they say it will make the curtains fade and the cows come in too early for milking, aye but! lol j/k
It seems to only happen on the netbook (xphome sp3) on Sydlney, Tokyo, or even NY time zones, I tried +8 +9 +11 etc zones instead of +10.
I did notice on technet (I think) there was a bunch of timezone updates for windows for some countries recently but no mention of anything for Aus EST at all.. However, on the desktop pc (vista) i cant replicate the issue at all.
Anyway, i will search your posts and thanks so much for the reply, was getting a bit lonely here for a while
Okay, searched and read.

Problem: Time is wrong

Hello,
I've had a very annoying issue with my Touch Pro.
Once before I found out that the clock was behind about 10-15 minutes. Today morning the clock was about 30 minutes behind. It sucks if you use the phone for alarm, too.
After soft reset it's ok again.
Any ideas what's causing it? It's definately not a time zone or DST problem.
Fixes?
Thanks
just realized my own Fuze is doing this when daylight savings occured last week.
First thing i can think of (since i dont have data on at the moment) is its my wifi connection ?
I dont know how or why, but that is the only "extra" Ive been using lately.
Make sure you post if you figure it out. I also use apptodate. ??
Have you tried checking the computer you sync to?
Is that off also?
