Rom Cookers!! Attention!!!! - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

First off let me say you guys rock!!!!
Ok now on to the topic.
DROP.IO
File service free 100mb uplad can be acessed by anyone or passworded no identification of yourself or anyone other than ip collection (they do this for the purpose of peventing people who distribute warez ect...ect...) No i dont work for them i just think its great and a great way to get the roms out without rapidshare ect...
So a great distrobution possibility just know that if the feds come knocking on their door they will give out your ip. It also is not searchable via crawlers so no unknowing visitors will enter your drop.
For more info listen to leo laporte's net at night here:
http://twit.tv/natn46
Keep up the good work and thanks for cooking.

i think 4shared.com is better!

I just want to find a good site that hosts stuff that my work doesn't block

4Shared for the win.

have the 4shared crowd checked out drop.io before the cast their verdict??
can you email files to 4shared if needed ?
can you fax to 4 shared?
can you get to it from a corporate site?? (NO) for 4 shared it's blocked by my work but i can allways email anything to anywhere.
can you get rss updates of 4shared files???

1+ hour to upload a rom? drop.io is to slow.
Rapidshare and 4Shared are a beter solution, it takes me only 12 min. to upload the same rom.

wait for it thats what it says but it only took me about 10-12 min to upload a rom to it!
So it would seem to be the same as 4 shared

Englewood NJ (drop.io) is a long way from Breda NL, maybe there are some bad routes between them.

I thought the whole point of using Rapidshare, MegaUpload, and 4shared was to keep our IP addresses as masked as possible. Since M$ and a few other have ravager-sized bugs (WoW joke) up their patooties about rom sharing.

mine said 1 hour and 10min originally but then completed in the 10 min a second test upload of dutty's latest version zipped completed in the same 10 ish min.
If anyone wants to download this file and tell me how long it takes id appriciate the feedback
http://drop.io/jiggaman
heck they even let you have voice mail.
hope i dont offend you buy posting your rom dutty i'll take it down tomight if you like.

why is it that you are pushing for ppl to use drop.io so much??

Don't know why you are pushing this site so much! But it does seem to have fast download servers
Downloads to Cleveland, ohio
The op 's site download of dutty's rom - 1.56 MB/Sec
Rapid Share download of same 1.02 MB/Sec

Well you ip will not show up anywhere excep in the drop.io logs microsoft cant get them unless they get the feds to get them they wont release them unless there isa court order.

Drop.IO is blocked by Websense, much like every other file-sharing site.
files.ww.com is about the only one I've found that isn't (yet).

What are the legal implications for hosting ROMs as I've seen m$oft hot on the heals of xda-developers in the past.
I wouldn't mind hosting them as a free contribution to xda-developers.
I think I could set up the following.
- Each developer has his own area to upload files via SSL web interface or SFTP.
- All files get virus checked and checksumed/signed.
- Host carrier will be 100mbps tier 2. Depending on how successful it is I can cluster the setup to several tier 1 carriers each @ 1gbps.
- Hosts will be on my Class C which are guaranteed clean IP addresses.
- Downside my tier 1 and tier 2 carriers are based at a London POP if anyone wants to team up with a cluster between London, New York that would really rock.

Drop IO Sucks! You tell anything about your Work doesnt block this side???
The URL is:http://drop.io/jiggaman
The category of this URL isersonal Network Storage and Backup
Either 'force_deny' or 'force_exception' was matched in policy
blocking.exception
This is the message from a Bluecode Proxy and Websense match this side too :->

well the place i work dosent block it and no i dont work for them just heard about it and thought it was cool im gonna use it maybe to upload podcasts i may be doing to since it's free and i can send them from every where. and listeners would be able to leave voice mail feedback.
I guess the it departments listen to the same podcasts since they bloacked it for some people allready. mine still allows it for now.
well use it or not just thought id put another option out there for people who dont like rapid share and the likes of it.
any how im off to my real job i'lll step off the soap box.

Why, Unwired, your number is very similar to mine!!
I have a feeling with them saying 'Mobile Phone' that this is going to be a Java based WAP app but we shall see.
I'll say one thing, if the browser is as slow as their website then its a loser to start with!!
( I just worry about sites promising something to you later that want loads of details, my SPAMer list sense (similar to Spider sense but not as refined) starts to burn...)
It says that the first application is for PocketPC/Smartphone with keyboards. They aslo blatantly show a Kaiser variant on the site (front camera version).
I promptly signed up for the beta, maybe this can be as good as Safari for the iPhone.
Anyway, I'll keep you posted if I get any response.

looks super. also surprised at how superfast it was then the guy showed he was on a cellphone data connection (evdo). while the demo was going on I was assuming that he was on a fast wifi connection. Def. super duper cool!
Had to be pre-cached pages. But impressive none-the-less.
Yeah, I'm concerned about privacy. I still hear not to bank with Opera Mini, so I can't imagine how one could trust a company they've never heard of. Sounds too iffy. But, for all other browsing needs, this seems like the best match for mobile phones. What if there were a way to make your home PC cache the sites for you, so you would know/trust the origin of the cache?
nice but check this:

Totally agreed that we should all be scared. AT&T is also talking about full-time monitoring of all users on their network. Lovely for us Tilt (branded) users. Not only a serious privacy concern, but how slow will the network have to run to allow constant monitoring? I love my country, but I fear my government.

While that privacy notice does concern me a bit, I'm not a business user, and I don't make purchases or give any sort of confidential information out via web on my phone.
so just to clairify... the beta has not been realsed yet? even though that video was realeased? and yeah the privacy stuff sucks but i dont do much viewing that i would care if any one saw so ill be ok with it. as long as it dosnt slow the network down to much

File Mirroring

Hi All,
There has been some discussion regarding hosting of Dutty's ROM's since bandwidth usage has become an issue. Lots have people have jumped in offering to host files, which is great!
Between all of us who benefit from this site, and the hard work of all the chefs, we should set up a file mirroring service?
I'm actually in the hosting industry, and can contribute quite a bit to this, however it's would certainly be better to have as many servers sharing the load as possible.
Just Kaiser CAB's and ROM's to begin with, until we get an ideal of bandwidth usage.
I'm happy to set it all up, and work with others who are willing to help.
I'd suggest we have one master server where chefs can upload their files. Each night at 1am we can rsync files out to all the other servers.
I have a nice script that will dish out encoded download URL's evenly so load gets shared out across all servers.
What do you think?
Potential Mirrors:
mattpark- Most London DC's, Databanx Newcastle, plenty of bandwidth
jagofulford - Uk based (docklands), 100Mb/s Connection, 10Tb Bandwidth per month
Once I have worthy list, I'll get about setting all this up, and will PM those who have expressed an interest.
Any chef's out there who would like to register their interest in uploading their files to a mirror PM me.
Cheers,
Matt
This sounds like a fantastic idea to host all the ROMs in one location, and hopefully ease any burden on cooks distributing their good work. While I can't cook a ROM, I can offer hosting:
Uk based (docklands), 100Mb/s Connection, 10Tb Bandwidth per month
I hope this is of some use, PM me if it's required.

I will be receiving an email with the case number and contact information for the antipiracy case manager who verified the information and will forward it to the Admins here and at PPCGeeks as well. Microsoft Impersonator Sends Fraudulent Letters, Disrupts Community
Posted by Chuong Nguyen
March 13th, 2009 at 02:53 PM
It turns out that there may be an impersonator lurking around disrupting Windows Mobile communities. In response to an article that was posted this morning about Microsoft demanding that Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM images that were cooked unofficially be taken down, our own Microsoft MVP Adam Z. Lein spotted that the guy responsible for the letter to XDA-Developers may be a fraud, as was posted on PPCGeeks.
A similar hoax had occurred before at msmobiles in regards to Windows Mobile 6.5 screenshots. In the cease and desist letter to msmobiles, the gentleman claiming to be with Microsoft's legal department asked the site to remove screenshots of the forthcoming operating system
. The letter was sent after Microsoft had publicly announced and shown the very screenshots at Mobile World Congress 2009. According to msmobiles: "In any case, if it is genuine action on behalf of Microsoft, it is a case of extreme incompetence that this guy is showing because he is requesting removal of pictures of something that has been officially announced few days earlier." It should also be noted that pocketnow.com had posted screenshots and news of Windows Mobile 6.5 before, during, and after Microsoft's Mobile World Congress announcement and we did not receive a cease and desist letter.
The community over at msmobiles performed some additional investigations and found that the gentlemam, James Young, sent emails originating from IP addresses in London and not from Microsoft's corporate headquarters in Redmond, Washington, leading many to believe that he is not connected with the software giant. Additionally, emails were sent from [email protected], and not at a "@microsoft.com" email address.
Whatever the case may be, other forum members in our original post here at pocketnow.com made mention that only the Windows Mobile 6.5 cooked ROM made by ROM chef Da_G was affected and 6.5 ROMs for other HTC-made devices were seemingly okay.
i only hope it is a hoax
I f you read the links I posted you will see that some users and some who work for M$ verified that it was a hoax...
Thanks for this.
It has been raised in the Moderators Forum.
I'll closed this thread now because there are a few of them floating around, might as well keep the discussion focused.
Might I suggest that if this is found to be a hoax, the site admin (or a moderator maybe) will let you know. We would appreciate it if anyone who has had a takedown notice by the admin adears to it until further notice from xda.
Regards,
Dave
I'll re-open this thread for discussion.
Can I request that if Flar removed your ROM images / links that you do not re-add them until you here from Flar (or maybe a moderator).
The takedown notice for those images may be genuine.
Thanks
Dave
thank you Dave,
question, since this has affected several hosting sites, what would be the best way to get them to re-think there decisions ? To me I think is not going to be a easy task to do since they are now very unsure of where they stand..legally that is..I doubt the M$ is going to come right out and tell them "all is well"
Who ever this guy is..he hit a very tender spot and if it was not for a minor slip up this may not have been nipped in the bud as quick as it was..
I have unlimited bandwidth and file space to host...
I am just unsure of the "legality" of ROM images in the US on a file server.
If they are considered legit, and do not contain any illegal software in the ROM image itself, I would be more than willing to host on my 100MBit web server.
What a p*ss take but to be honest someone should have noticed the extension on the email address!!! Or even checked into it... "Just want to clarify not pointing the blame @ anyone"
I know now XDA has to do there research on this and comply with any thing that has happened till the all clear is called.
Just shame the ammount of disruption this has caused to chefs and users alike....
With regards hosting sites i think that they will be fines as i imagine the flagged ROMs were reported by the offender and most hosting sites do not have enough time to check every upload to there servers....
Not sure i got anything else to say except lets all get back to usual.....

I can speak to that since I am a partner with a game and web hosting company. We do look at the individual files on the box to determine if the reported apps or media violates either our Terms of Service or any copyright laws. We also check into each "report" we get to determine if the report is legitimate, and we do investigate IPs and domains, to determine if they are valid.
In our arena, we do get gaming guilds who pretend to be official companies who try to get us to take down a competitors site or server.
We have also used copyright DMCA ourselves, and we do send email notification, but ONLY after a written certified letter is sent. The email is sent to the listed contact of the company and contains a copy of what was sent via certified mail.
We do this since we normally engage in unofficial conversation if someone has used our copy-righted material to save us money, as most of the time they use it without knowing they can't.
As far as the DMCA goes, we can send notice using our own attorneys, but we HAVE to hire local counsel to serve any legal action notice if we end up going that route. However, we do have a choice of mediation and litigation clause which allows us to use the laws of and conduct legal activity in the state our company is registered in. MS would have to do the same thing.
so when will roms be back? will everyone have to re post them therselves?
If it's truly found to be a hoax, I'd sure hate to be "James Young", or whatever his real name is. He may quickly become the target of thousands of hackers. I would imagine with the combined power of everyone effected, he could find himself with:
An Empty Bank Account
Homeless
Late Vehicle Registration/Stolen Vehicle
On the FBI's Most Wanted List/On MI6's Most Wanted List
His Face In Porn Movies/Beastiality Movies
A Failed Drug Test at Work
On People Magazine's Worst Dressed List
etc, etc...

Tell ya what this guy been everywhere!!!
Last month, Ars reported that Microsoft's Windows Media Audio (WMA) digital rights management protection had been cracked, and a program called FairUse4WM had been written that would strip DRM data from purchased audio files. Microsoft was aware of the workaround, but did not seem too concerned, merely stating that "we designed the Windows Media DRM system to be renewable, so that if such events occur the system can be refreshed to address them." Now it seems that the company has gone a little further than that, sending out cease and desist orders to web sites hosting the FairUse4WM program. According to the owner of the web site BG4G, the orders came in via e-mail.
The notices are of a standard boilerplate format, claiming that the sites are "offering unlicensed copies of, or is engaged in other unauthorized activities relating to copyrighted works published by Microsoft." The copyrighted works are Windows Media Player 10 and 11, and the unauthorized activities are listed as "offering 'Cracks' or 'Product Keys', intended to circumvent technical measures that control access to Microsoft's copyrighted works and that protect Microsoft's copyrights in those works."
The "Demand for Immediate Takedown" e-mail comes from a James Young, "Internet Investigator," who claims to be acting on behalf of Microsoft Corporation. The interesting thing about the e-mail is that it makes no mention of the DMCA, which is the one law that would make FairUse4WM (which does not contain any copyrighted code, portions of Windows Media Player, nor any copyrighted music files themselves) illegal. The DMCA contains provisions against programs that attempt to circumvent copy protection. It also provides a "safe harbor" for Internet Service Providers and web hosts that take down files in a certain amount of time (usually 10 to 14 days) after a warning letter has been received.
The DMCA is a US invention and applies only in the United States, but many companies have attempted to use it outside their country's borders. The notice advising web sites to take down the FairUse4WM program came from the domain Microsoft-Antipiracy.com, which according to DNS records belongs to Microsoft but is actually administered by the ISP Nildram Ltd, which is based in the UK (the web site itself redirects to a page on microsoft.com).
Microsoft has not commented on the takedown notices, but they would be consistent with the sorts of notices given to web sites hosting cracks for other media-related copy protection. In the case of FairUse4WM, the problem may be somewhat more urgent from Microsoft's perspective, as the subscription-based model used by many DRMed WMA online music stores allows downloading an unlimited number of songs, but they can only be listened to for as long as the subscription is active

Use common sense, people! (Admins mainly)
IF Microsoft would have sent any of such letters, it would require you to remove ALL of their products, not just one - isn't it obvious?
I cannot imagine msoft asking xda to remove anything WM6.5 related, but not mentioning WM6.1 and WM6.0 ROMs and files
It's like Sony would have ask i.e. The Pirate Bay in a C&D letter to remove links to just 1 movie torrent and not mention links to all other Sony-owned movies present there.
I don't think it ever happened that way.
And letter coming from microsoft-antipiracy.com ? That's a no brainer LOL! It's as credible as if it would have come from microsoftsucks.org

Interesting... the confidentiality notice is often a sub mail server attachment, meaning its attached to the email as it leaves the companie's mail servers, not when it leaves the users outbox... There are universal clauses out there, but since this one matches pretty much 100% it would be safe to say that the company James Young mailed it from and this company are one and the same, or connected through a parent or something like that. Here is the one that my company attaches once the emails leave our intranet and go out:

The app "provides consumers with information about the quality and speed of their mobile data connection. Test the upload speed, download speed, and latency of your mobile broadband connection and share your results with a simple email export." It has access to:
Your location
Network communication
Phone calls
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah, no, don't think I'll be installing this one. Who knows what other surreptitious things this app does. Figured everyone else might like to know.
Doesn't speedtest do the same thing?
Sent from my Droid Incredible using XDA App
I'll pass on that one...but think there are many big brother apps out there

I am fairly certain that every app installed on Android accesses the phone or network or both. It is most likely asking for your location for the exact same reason the website SpeedTest.net asks for it...even if you access it on your PC... and that is so it can measure your speed and latency from the server closest to your location. If you notice this app was not made the US Govt. it was made by someone named Ookla who also made an app called “Speedtest.net Speed Test”.
Let's not get paranoid without actually looking beneath the surface here. More than likely this was just someone trying to make an “official sounding” app. A government agency like the FCC would actually list itself as the publisher of something like this and not any specific individual, especially under the name of “Ookla”.
For example, how many official IRS publications have you ever seen that list an individual person as the author or publisher? Now how many are just listed as “IRS Publication _____”?
As for exporting the resluts, many "Speed Test" websites publish the results of each test and many offer statistical averages for each ISP, state or country. On the surface, this seems like the same thing "speed test" programs have been doing since the '90s.
The only thing that raises a red flag to me is this Ookla guy using the "FCC" name for his own app. That alone is the only thing that would make me think there is anything suspicious about this. Reason to be cautious? Sure. Government conspiracy? Certainly not.
If you are are going to be scared of every app that accesses your phone calls and data connection, I would recommend not downloading any apps at all. As I stated earlier, I am fairly certain they all do and if not all, then certainly a very large majority do.

1) I surmise you didn't pay attention to the "Visit the developer's Webpage" section (http://www.broadband.gov/qualitytest/about) nor did you pay attention to the "Send mail to developer" link ([email protected]).
Last time I checked, the only entity that could register a .gov domain name would be, hmmmmmmmmmmmm, the govt?
2) So, for s&g's let's just jump over to http://www.broadband.gov/, and lo and behold, it's a site by the FCC.
3) Let's run a quick "who is" query...
"WHOIS information for broadband.gov :
[Querying whois.nic.gov]
[whois.nic.gov]
% DOTGOV WHOIS Server ready
Domain Name: broadband.gov
Status: Active
Please be advised that this whois server only contains information pertaining to the .GOV domain. For information for other domains please use the whois server at RS.INTERNIC.NET."
4) And finally, the privacy statement for the site:
"The FCC is collecting and storing street addresses, IP addresses, and broadband performance information through these speed tests. (The FCC is not collecting email addresses through these speed tests.) The street addresses will not be released, disclosed to the public, or shared with any outside entities, including Ookla and M-Lab, except in the limited circumstances described in the Consumer Broadband Test Privacy Statement. The FCC, Ookla, and M-Lab are collecting and storing broadband performance information and IP addresses, which Ookla and M-Lab may release to the public. The FCC will not make individual IP addresses available to the public except in the limited circumstances described in the Consumer Broadband Test Privacy Statement. For more information, see the complete Consumer Broadband Test Privacy Statement, the Ookla Privacy Policy , and the M-Lab Privacy Policy. The FCC is soliciting this information under authority of the Broadband Data Improvement Act of 2008, Pub. L. No. 110-385, Stat 4096 § 103(c)(1); American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA), Pub. L. No. 111-5, 123 Stat 115 (2009); and Section 154(i) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended."
So, to counter your false claims and your casually dismissive attitude, I would suggest you follow your own advice next time (and look beneath the surface) before you step into a glass house throwing rocks. I did my research before posting, did you?
And granted, this may be a totally benign app, but given the source and other things they have been known to do, do you *really* want to take that gamble?

Who exactly are they and what have they done? Granted, I didn't read the website info, but as I pointed out, this is not really any different than any other app in the entire market.
Last time I checked, the FCC wasn't kicking in the front doors of peoples homes and anal probing them for information about their G-mail contact list. I have no clue who "Ookla" is so, I have no clue what they have been known to do. For that matter I have no clue what M-Lab has been known to do either. If you want to go down the whole Govt. conspiracy "oh no they are after me" road, then hey, knock yourself out. But if they really were after you, they probably wouldn’t take the gamble that you would download their app from Android market. They would probably just legislate it into law that every phone had to ship with it pre-installed.
Unless that would interfere with their plans for the UFO's, the next Sept 11th or the reincarnation of Elvis or whatever other paranoid crap everyone wants to blame a relatively incompetent government of flawlessly doing with the personal information of every citizen within its borders...
I think I am going to text message everyone in my contact and tell them to run a test with this app...then we can all panic that the FCC knows we own cell phones, how fast our internet connections are and where we live...as if they couldn't have figured all this out yesterday before any one of us installed the app...unless they are going to use this to spy on us...oh wait I remember everyone being paranoid about that after watching it happen to Will Smith in "Enemy of the State" back in the '90s...so that can't be it...
Oh well... if I never post on here again, that means they found out I download apps form the Android Market...and god help us all when they find out about everyone else...
Oh and by the way, "Ookla" isn't part of the government: http://www.ookla.com/about.php

1) I tempered my post with "this could be benign".
2) No one is hollering conspiracy theorist except you, I'm simply providing the facts that this app exists, it will reside on your phone, and there is no real way of knowing what it does outside of what is stated.
3) Yeah, I read Ookla isn't part of the government, did I ever say they were? But at this point, that's just tit for tat. And if you don't know who "they" are (I think I've spelled that out) and what they've "done", about the only thing I can suggest is that you research your history.
I think I'm about with this post. Do want you want, dude.

Actually the whole tone of your post screams "conspiracy theory". Even your reply does when you state:
"there is no real way of knowing what it does outside of what is stated".
That is the very definition of "conspiracy theory" and really the same could be said for any app. Seriously, this is not the only app that gathers information or accesses the same things, it is just the only one you targeted in your post. You're just paranoid about this specific one because it supposedly has "government ties".
And no, you haven't spelled out who "they" are. That is why I asked. Apparently I am mistaken, so please...enlighten.
Telling me to research history is a cop out. I am guessing you have some evidence of something malicious going on or there would be no need for suspicion of the app outside of some paranoid idea you have. Besides I must be missing something if I don't see the danger in this app that you do, so why trust me to uncover anything on my own in my history research? No, I am sure that you actually have some real hard evidence here that you can bestow upon the masses at large to convince us all what evil lurks within the Android Market.
I mean you post this here about this single app based on not so unique characteristics and you're all like "FCC...GOVERNEMNT...HINT, HINT, HINT" (I am paraphrasing of course), yet fail to elaborate on why, then basically say “well, I am not saying there is anything wrong with it” (paraphrasing again). In your own exact words...Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah....
So, which is it? Are you "warning" everyone that, except for the FCC name, this app is basicaly like every other app or is there something special that you are trying to hint about it that no one but you knows about? If so, then at least say what that is.
No worries though, I understand that even though someone is paranoid, that is not evidence that they aren't out to get us.

I'm proud to present a brand new ad-block and security solution. I hope to find some supporter here to check, test and optimize the system.
The name of this system is keweon which is a short form from the German words "keine werbung online". Translated to English this would be "no advertising online"
Unfortunately every online presence is within German language because my English is not longer the best.
The idea and very first solution was born in year 2003. In the year 2013 I decided to launch the system as an online based system and we have tested this system almost on every device. AdBlocking is just only one of the many features but at the moment it's only important if the black and white lists are usable and what to change.
keweon is also the only adblock solution world wide which is not possible to block. If you find a web page where you receive the message "Blocked because you are using an adblocker" let me know this link here or post it on our facebook page and we will change this.
Now it's up to you to decide what you want to think about it.
How can you use it?
The big advantage is that you don't need to install any software. Just point your device to the keweonDNS Server and - that's it!
You can use it on your device or on your SOHO Router or you can use it just on your PC to test and see how does it work.
It's working on EVERY operation system, on EVERY device. Even on IPhone, PlayStation, XBOX and if you want it will even run on the Apple Watch.
Here are the keweonDNS Server list and where they are located:
DNS Server IPv4
GERMANY 01 (*) 46.101.208.121
GERMANY 02 (**) 46.101.187.194
UNITED KINGDOM 01 (*) 178.62.117.240
USA - Dallas (TX) (**) 45.32.198.153
DNS Server IPv6
GERMANY 01 (*) 2a03:b0c0:3:d0::3c:7001
GERMANY 02 (**) 2a03:b0c0:3:d0::b0:8001
UNITED KINGDOM 01 (*) 2a03:b0c0:1:d0::28:8001
USA - Dallas (TX) (**) 2001:19f0:6400:8945:5400:00ff:fe17:5dba
(*) = only available for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein
(**) = global available
Our DNS Server are not pointing to Google server at the other end. We want to have a clean DNS solution. The DNS servers points to root-server.net infrastructure only.
This might cause some troubles e.g. with MarkMonitor URL's and Domains. I don't care because this company is anyway block at 99,999% via keweonDNS
HTTPS Advertising - no more chance
This is also a big advantage that keweon is able to cover also this crap. We know the current solution is not the best but it is the cheapest.
If you want get rid of the HTTPS advertising error message than you need to install the keweon Adblock Root Certificate on your Computer or on your device.
I know that there are better solutions but the problem is that keweon is currently just a hobby and to buy a public certificate and spending 800 Euro just for fun would be a big financial pain.
You don't need the certificate to use the keweon Adblock but if you want to get rid of the https nags you need to use is.
Browser example without keweon Root Certificate:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Browser example with keweon Root Certificate:
If you want to see what is inside this certificate than browse to the keweon HTTPS Sniper Server and take a look inside the SSL Certificate. You can see what URL's we will take over for ad-blocking reason.
How does keweonDNS work?
It's not a big secret because EVERYTHING is working on 100% pure native DNS technologies. The only thing you need is a FreeBSD Server, a LINUX Server and - YES, it is REQUIRED - a Windows Server. You need to build your own operation system based on UNIX and some special kernel things.
That's all!
I also have had a contact to a big AdBlock Company and the CEO still think this solution is a Proxy solution. I don't want to make a big discussion but keweon is running on 100% native DNS.
The only exception for this is currently YouTube. We have unlocked YouTube that you will not longer get stupid messages "Is blocked because...".
In non other country of the world are more Videos blocked than in Germany. Don't ask for the secret of the YouTube solution. It's working and we will not send the traffic over the keweon systems. That's the reason why we can offer this solution to nearly half a million users.
Check this and see:
https://apps.opendatacity.de/gema-vs-youtube/en/
Currently we have the problem that YouTube unblocker will not run 100% on iOS devices. If you want to see EVERY Video you need to uninstall the YouTube App from your device and watch the videos within the browser.
Therefore I would need additional help to sort out where the hell this app will take the GEO location information's. At the moment it seems it will use the iOS API for this but my knowledge about the iOS API is very limited.
Here are the important links:
On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/keweonNetwork
On Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/keweonNetwork
Because of legal reason the web site is still offline. One little error on the page could cost a lot of money in Germany.
The Web: http://www.keweon.de
The keweon Root Certificate.
Keep in mind it is not required to use the certificate. If you want to get rid of the HTTPS error messages u can use it but for the basic Ad-blocking it is NOT REQUIRED.
Here is the list of the current entries within our certificate. You can double check this within our HTTPS sniper server: https://adblock.keweon.center

If you want to have a "AllInOne Package" use this link please:
http://pki.keweon.center/certs/keweonAdblockCertificate.zip
What will this cost?
It will cost nothing. You can use it where ever you want to use it.
Why it's free?
Because we can do it.
We are unknown.
We don't know what you think about this solution.
That's the reason why this will be free of charge. But keep in mind that this system is only a demo system because we don't have the money to do what we want to do.
The only thing what we expect:
Like, Share and Promote us here by XDA (hit the Thanks Button), on Facebook and Twitter. That's all we want to have from you.
And now?
Now it's your turn.
Read it, use it and decide if you want to have the Internet in a newer Version. Take a look and see.
Hope you enjoy it!
How you can support keweon?
If you have found an address which is blocked that needs to be unblocked or if you have found additional critical address then just send this via email.
At the moment we need to cross check everything manually but we hope that we can automated this process within a few weeks. For this it is important how you send the email. Let's give a short example.
BLACKLIST EXAMPLE:
You have found the URL www.ads-terror.com. But this address is a Popup from the site www.cool-site.com
Now create a text file as like as a hosts file and add the bad URL. Use the Hash sign (#) to seperate the comment. As comment you should use the source URL where you have found the Popup.
www.ads-terror.com # www.cool-site.com
If you have found a malware site or address or something like the "Flashplayer Update" which is in real a malware or spyware trash than comment this with what it is. Just one or two words that we know what it is. You can also combine this or write a few more words. It's up to you.
www.ads-terror.com # fake flashplayer
WHITELIST EXAMPLE:
We know that 7 million entries will not be 100% safe and clean. So don't worry, if you find an address which is blocked which should be not blocked than let's whitelist this.
Also write this into a TXT File and comment this with some self spelling infos that we know why.
bit.ly # Twitter URL shortener
That's all. Please don't send any screenshot or PDF or anything else than a TXT file. Keep in mind that we only will work with the attachments. It does not make sence to send the information within the email body. Whatever you write in the mail this will be ignored because this is an half automated process.
Where to send?
It's easy.
If you have an request and attachment for white listing send this to:
[email protected]
If you have an request and attachment for black listing send this to:
[email protected]
Anything else?
Yes. If you have seen a website where you will receive the Message "this website is blocked because you are using an adblocker" than we also want this to know.
Sometimes it will take a few hours, sometimes this can take up to 3 days until whe are able to break this. But we keep you updated on twitter if we are able to remove this crap.
If you have found an address please copy this address also into a TXT file and send this to:
[email protected]
A few of our blocked URL's might cause some HTTPS errors. For this we have the Root Certificate and because of this we are able to manage this errors within a few minutes.
If you are using the keweon Adblock Root Certificate and find an error on a web page than make a screenshot OR send a TXT file with the URL.
We will double check this and if we see that this address needs to be placed in our HTTPS certficate we will do this. If something wents wrong we will remove this address from our blacklist.
If you see or find an error within the HTTPS certificate than we also need this to know. Send the screenshot or the TXT file to this address and we will take action.
[email protected]
Update of white and black lists
Currently we have a job, we have family and we can not offer 24x7 support for this. This system is just a damn small system, it's a hobby and this update procedure can cause a timeout for round about 60 sec. when we do an update on our DNS Servers. We know how to solve this but we don't have the money currently for this.
This update has only impact to NEW site and URL requests.
If you are playing an online game, stay on facebook or doing work on the same site you will see no interruption. If you do a new site request and you will see that this request runs into a time out take a smoke or move away for a new cup of coffee.
I hope you enjoy this and if you have any recommendations please let me know this.
What is keweonDNS?
keweonDNS is more than just a simple adblocker system. keweon is a solution which offers a lot of cute things.
privacy Protection
protection by Virus and Trojan infection (prevent the download of additional files)
protection against spying (blocking the source address)
Internet without Ads and Popups
real time online ad-blocking
domain address based
working with ipv4 and ipv6
tracking protection
malware protection
spyware protection
trojan protection
fake security filter
fake software filter
phishing protection
advantage because of all of this: up to 50% faster internet on all devices
We also have found a solution where we are able to block even IP Addresses and filter single websites or a picture. But currently it is to expensive to release this for public usage.
We need your support!
The keweonDNS phishing protection is a beta solution at the moment because we have the idea. We know what to do. We know where to do.
But we have no email with a phishing address or URL. We hope someone of you is able to support us and send us a few URL's.
If you receive a phishing mail than copy the content of the mail into a TXT file. Please make sure that you will copy the PHISHING address into this TXT file and then send the TXT file as attachment to:
[email protected]
!!! ATTENTION !!!
IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO - NEVER CLICK ON A LINK WITHIN A PHISHING MAIL.
ASK A FRIEND OF YOU OR SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT TO DO!

If you are not sure than you can forward and send the complete mail to us. Please send this mail to:
[email protected]
The problem is that our mail provider might filter this mail. That is the reason why we are asking for the source and destination address within a text file.
It will not help if you only send a screenshot because the LINK and the LINK REFERENCE are completely different. It's also an idea if you are able to save the message and send the message as ZIP file.
If we have this mail we will take action and prevent phishing attacks when you are using the keweonDNS Servers.
Currently we have not a real solution how you can send the information's within a secure way. You can do what you want as long as you are safe and can make sure that you will be not infected.
If you have any idea how to send the complete mail your welcome to keep us informed.
It seems no one is using this System because of my self signed Root Certificate.
I want to get rid of the Certificate installation.
Does someone know if there are some provider who offers free public web server certificates?
Currently I only know Comondo.
Thanks in advance!

We have done a Certificate request with public domains entries within the SAN field.
After this the certificate request was catched by fraud detection and they denied the certificate.
Bad luck for us. But we don't give up.
If someone knows a different solution than our Root Certificate please let me know.
At the moment it is only possible to get rid of the HTTPS trash with our Root Certificate.
Thanks in advance!
Over 500 Hits and no one seems to be interessted?
Can someone explain to me why there is a problem to give it a try and test this System?
Would be a great thing. Thanks in advance.
I'll give it a try, i already promoted it over my friends, i thank you for your work

At this point DNS encryption is not a thing we Plan to implement.
This System is comlete VPS based and a real smal system.
We are using some overloaded security on the servers. If we have success to establish this as an commercial system we will use DNS encryption.
But at the moment we only want to clean up the Black and white lists and for this DNS encryption will cause more troubles than security.
Best regards!
Technical Focus:
It seems that adblock blocking will become the "Advertising Surprise XXL Feature" for 2016.
May be for all other Adblockers. But this will not work with the keweon System.
We cross the fingers and we wil see :fingers-crossed:
Blocking Adblocker which blocking ads to make sure that ads will never blocked
If you see any Website which is blocked when you will use an ad-blocker please test this also with the keweon System.
Yahoo is working on this to prevent ad-blocker usage.
We are working on this problem too and for a well-balanced result we take the other side.
Help and let us know when you find such a site!
Tell us what you think about this:
kinox.to and movie2k.to are now 98% ad free.
We also removed the abo traps when you use this sites on your mobile phone.
Best regards and we hope you enjoy this!

Check the Playstore and search "RomToolBox". But this tool requires root.
Unfortunately I'm using currently an iPhone but with this Tool I have had the best experience on android.
With higher versions than KK (4.4) I have no clue how to change the DNS Servers because HTC OneMax with 4.4 was my last android device.
I just use the DNS changer from Playstore. Works fine so far. Thanks for your effort!:good:

I have to agree this is not open source so only security conscious conclusion is that you are data sniffing.

Hmmm... Data sniffing with DNS? How? And why?
Everyone is claiming that it is not possible to protect data. I have found years ago a solution and after 10 years I decided to launch this as an online solution.
Let's assume that I will data sniffing. What can I get?
Compare DNS as a phone book. You have the option to look inside where the Webserver or the destination exists. You are searching only a phone number or IP Address.
If you take data from the webserver this will not served and offered by the DNS Servers because this will be done from the webserver which you are browsing to. DNS is only telling your browser, hey go there and there you will find the rest.
The only thing I would get is which IP address is seeking for what address. So what data I should sniff? I only will get the information which IP address is searching xyz.com. Based on this information what should I do with this?
If I would like to have this Data that makes no sence because I have a account to statista.com where I can get more and detailed informations about this. Therefore is no need to launch such a tool.
I decided to build this project DNS based because in no country of the world it is requrired to log DNS request. May be China is an exception but especially in germany where it is required by law to log EVERY web server access DNS will be an exception.
Everyone is claiming that it is not possible to filter dangerous things within the Internet or web sites. Also the site and user tracking. If you use my DNS you can browse to Amazon do a search any you will get not "stalking result" when you visit ebay after your amazon visit.
I have disabled this online tracking which a lot of people say this it not possible. I'm working with this keweonDNS solution since years and also a lot of other people. This was finally the reason why I decided to launch this system as a public system. I'm specialist for Active Directoy since 2000 and I promises to you I will and I can do things with DNS where others will never dream of.
And yes. The system is closed source. And it will stay closed source.
On the one hand I have spend years of work into this system and if you ask someone who has experience with DNS this guy will confirm that this will not work what I do. I heard this so many times - but it's working. On the other handy I keep this closed because I will give no one the chance to break my system or doing some evil things.
If this system will have success than hey, I will find an Investor and I'm able to implement all the security features and launch this as an global system. Yes, this is what I want to do with this.
At the moment you will see only 20% of it's power because all other things would make this system damn expensive when I would release this as public system.
Big companies better pray that this never will happens because for them this system will become an evil nightmare.
If it's no success and everyone has concerns to use it than I will put everything back into the drawer and that's it. At the moment it is fun, fun, fun and more fun. Nothing more.
The same is with my Adblock Root Certificate. I was searching a solution. I found it and it's working. Within a Windows System you will see 42 root certificates. Do you know what they will do? Do you know what they are responsible for? I guess you will not know this but you trust them by default.
I will open and release my complete certificate if you want.
I can not take the fear away which you might have with my system, it's up to you to use it. But the main reason is I want to keep my data on my machine. I don't like if someone try to spy me, my machine and everything what I do.
At the moment I only want to know if the Black and White Lists are OK. To launch the system as a public system there is a lot of additional work required which is not possible that one or two guys can handle this.
I have a solution. I offer the solution as a public system and I will never say that this is the master solution. But with keweon you have more security and options than every other system.
It is absolut O.K. that someone thinks twice bevor he use this system. It is absolut O.K. when someone do not trust the certificate. And it's absolut OK when someone think that this is a big peace of sh**t.
I expected a lot of complains and I'm prepared for nearly everything.
But to think that I'm collecting data?
That's a hard pain because this is what I hate and that is something what this system prevent.
If you will not trust this solution it's O.K. for me. If you have any recommendations how can I achieve more trust into this system than let me know this because I'm open to anything.
Best regards!

Just shut-up for godsake if you want to use it use it, or if you don't leave it, why so many complaints, go learn computer networks DNS stuffs and then talk, its just a solution, there are many other adblocking solutions out there. If you are concerned with too much privacy why use Google or xda there's trackers everywhere, its inevitable to avoid. Grow up please.
