So, Had my Qtek S200 for just a bit more than a week now, and getting to set up the details. And now I'm trying to figure out some obvious voice-dialing tricks that should be present on a device like this. But obviously is not there or well hidden.
I want a voice-number mode. Like I press the headset button and say: "Dial" and then just say one number at a time, possibly even with short-names for area-codes, and of course a "Wrong" or "Back" if a number gets misinterpreted.
I havn't installed the voice-command software that I can install for free, but that's just because outside dialing numbers I don't really need any more voice-control. And to install all of that just to get this little function (if it's at all there) seems a bit over the top.
I also find it strange that I cannot have a common word for "Home", "Work" and "Mobile". What I mean with that is that Saying a name should open that contact, and then just say which type of number should be dialed. That would obviously save space for more controls and thus less misses in the control. But that is a seriously minor point to the obvious number-dialing.

Hi SDplus!
While I and other people may agree with you, Microsoft unfortunately doesn't. I have the same device with imate ROM (Jamin) and it comes with "Cyberon voice dial" in the ext ROM. That is actually a reduced version of the voice commander that only handles prerecorded voice tags.
Bummer, but no choice there. At leas the manufacturers are trying to add the 3rd party software like cyberon to the ROM so you don't have to pay for it.
Also I had to give up my camera button to assign the app to it. It's a nice device but the extra 'OK' button could be put to a much better use by default.
I think that, after has proved two roms that there is in this moment, many of us have valuable contributions that made to help to perfect the final score. I have seen many very positive dispersed suggestions for the different threads that treat the topic.
I think that it is better to open a thread exclusively for suggestions and only suggestions (although they could accompany oneself of a comment) of progress, which is plain and practical for the consultation of the creators of roms.
Also I think that if some suggestion is debatable, we could debate on it and even to vote if we weigh that it must be included or not.
Clearly, they will take their own decisions according to what here they see and of their own perceptions; but it is sure that we serve them as help.
I begin with my own suggestions:
Only for that of Phil:
- To include the STK services to be able to use dual sim.
For both:
- To support most of free possible memory, by means of:
*To install only a source for defect and to be able to have others by means of cabs
*To include neither Windows Live nor the Office, not even Voice Command for defect. To add them in cabs.
- If someone manages to make to work this, to include in the rom (WLAN IP Manager) since it would solve the one that for me is the worst defect of Tornados: the inability to get connected with fixed IPs.
Thanks
PD: I have seen many different, as one on a driver for the joystick, someone on the starter, others on the multimedia player, etc., that also would like to see me implemented, but I hope that there should be the first ones in contributing them who posteen here, so they will be able to make it much better than I.
Excuse us, to me for my horrible English and to Google for his horrifying Spanish.
You are contradicting with yourself. You are saying that they must leave as much free memory as possible and then you are asking for a feature only a few of us will ever use.
I believe the roms must be left as clean as possible. A couple of things such as HTC tasks, file manager, comm manager etc. may be default. But other than that anything can be left out. This way we guarantee that everybody has his own OS style (like linux, unlike windows).
Right now I am using Phil's rom and it is quite stable and fast and I am very satisfied. There are some debug related applications in it which will probably be removed in the next release. And the rest, for me, just works like a charm.

Which? If you talk about STK services, to where I understand I believe that it is an own service of the phone that does not consume resources that only become “visible” when there are several options of to switch on. I do not believe that that is to request a new characteristic, but to correct an error. If you talk about WLAN IP Manager, the same. It does not do more than small adjustments in the registry to correct a tremendous error of the Tornado.
I do not see that it requests nothing else, but good, if some of the things comes aside in cab installable, because better.
It seemed to me very interesting something of a magnificent one to driver for joistick, but no longer I know nor by where it walks.
In order to themselves separate the possible discussions of the suggestions, I believe that it is going to be better to put in negrilla these last ones. In case the creators of roms want to review the thread of a look it will be more easy.
i did have a small list of improvements made some time ago:
ok phil.
if u remove windows update, at least supply it as a cab in the extras folder.
channels don't work.
long pressed side button does not work! it used to start voice note record for the sda and i'd like that to work.
mms.
better camera software. btw htc camera makes the phone SLOW..... not a good one. need an alternate
enable profile switching to silent when long pressing '#' key
default folder for saving pictures on storage card is not my documents\my pictures any more but a lame dcim folder. that would be nice to be changed.
also, sometimes when answering a call, the keyboard stays locked, the call is still on, but the home screen is active and not the call screen.
joystick seems much better but sometimes it doesn't want to work as it should. maybe another driver; if not, this one is good
we need wpa2 for wifi enabled.
also add in the extras folder:
moblue
tcpmp with extra codecs
htc audio manager could be good
if u need the cabs for moblue and htc audio, i have them
there is an newer version of sim manager. v6.10. has a couple of new things (got it if u need it)
and maybe add a good version of opera. not the java one.
we also need a good midlet manager
also a good instant messaging program. maybe a multi client one like oz mobile im, or like im+

Very worked, correct an useful list. I am in agreement with almost everything.
I believe everybody wants is a small, fast and clean ROM, with the latest and more reliable drivers.
Imho, any application that is not mandatory, OR if could be installed in SD should be packed together with the ROM in a ZIP file, so everyone could choose which extra features to install.
Since the extra features installation take some (lot of) time reset or first installation. - It would be Great if someone could manage to create a package installer, where the user may choose what "extras" to install.

Excellent idea. Save lots of time. (Excuse me for I put it in "bold")
Headset profile is missing
I would also add Autokeylock and Right Menu in ROM. They seem to me two essential littel applications.
right menu is not free.
i don't think it's a good idea to include all those 3d party, just the esential stuff (as mms, camera, etc).

Ohhh. It's correct. Excuse me. I thought that it was free. It's mine for a long time.
I agree totally in the rest, but… for me Autokeylock isa essential stuff.
Just give us a basic version, do not include things which can be installed in storage card to maximize the available space
Well said, I agree.
oh yeah... i did forget one bug for my list:
the wm6 t9 does not work right. it seems it has been borrowed from a chinese rom or something because when you switch between typing modes with the * key, it displays some chineese characters.
To break the Modaco xT9 language pack so only the necessary language can be installed .
Very important. About 2.5 Mg will be saved. I know It by experience

Ditto. Good idea!
Here is my post on French
and here a quick translation :
Well, the step is again crossed. I say again because I had made an attempt with Ipaq a few years ago and had quickly made a return behind .
But this time Palm with Tréo (750) under WM5 help me to cross the river.
Here thus the report of my first steps of beginner under WM5.
I write this Post because I will have agreed to find some contribution for beginners.
Certain points will seem to you very basic and even useless but if I had had them under the hand that would have helped me a lot to begin.
Installation.
Relatively simple to install.
But a problem was obvious dice the beginning: how to recover my data managed by PalmDesktop (8 years of appointments and contacts).
Well I needed to invest . I bought PocketCopy from Chapura. Main issue at the beginning. The transfer of my appointments did not pass. An e-mail with the log to the support of Chapura and a very complete response in 12 hours which allowed me to solve it (I really recommand this support ), but sad to have to invest 25$ just for a one shot.
Until there all goes well but I very quickly realize that synchronization is not highly reliable . (very often my PC does not recognize any more my Tréo). After bad issues I downloaded ActiveSync V4.5 (it is the preceding one which is delivered out of standard) and since that seems more stable.
After the installation you have on your PC an application which opens when you connect the Tréo to the cable.
It is possible on a simple click to explore ithe Tréo (simpler than under PalmOs)
Two ways of installing a program:
• downloading a exe file, while launching it on PC and while validating its installation on the PDA,
• downloading a .CAB file, copy it in the MyDocument folder in the PDA and while launching it in the PDA (with the file explorer of the PDA)
First steps:
Dammed, why PalmOne did customise its Tréo without taking account of the advantages of ease of use of these past Tréo models?
Where are the icons? Where are the buttons which make it possible to telephone, to send a SMS in some clicks without stylus?
Well, very quickly learned how to appreciate the menu to start and the button X which closes the programs (or rather very often minimizes them) but at this stage I am still very disappointed.
Finally I quickly wanted to recreate me a Tréo 680 like.
To build me MY Tréo.
The calendar: it is as bad as the one of PalmOs. Thus I wanted to choose a good PIM. I tested PocketInformant, Agenda Fusion 8.07, diary one, Agendus (never been able to install it). For the moment I retain PocketInformant.
Then I wanted to recreate me a true telephone keyboard with simple buttons (mute, wait, etc).
I found a track here. I then downloaded the excellent Memmaid program and all these accessories (I could recreate me menu with my own shortcuts and the possibility to simply make softreset (and hardware) without opening the small trap door which hides the button reset of which I fear brittleness).
With Memmaid I was able to unsinstall the standard phone’s functions of Tréo 750 in order to install anew Dialer which I have chosen here. Be careful the manipulations are a little it “hot” and you must all backup well before .Danger !!!
I maid so many manipulations of this kind that I completely crashed my Tréo 750 (no more telephone, no more synch). I have to make a complete reset (more than an Hardware Reset) (pressing lengthily on the red button + button reset then pad upwards)
All returned perfectly in the order. It is really well done.
Other customization:
There exists as a native a tool of assistance to the writing of the words which proposes at the end of some letters the appearance of words to be clicked. Quite practical except that the dictionary of words is incremented automatically even for not desired words (careful with the confidentiality) or with mis-spellt words. I found a small freeware very practical Dictionary Editor and well done to remove or add words.
Another point: it is not possible (or I did not find) to protect a note as under PalmOs what posed Pb to me to protect from the leading notes. I thus installed another small freeware well fact which manages and makes safe the significant data: cryptocard.
Here I am now. At your disposal for your questions.
Have a nice Sunday
Greetings,
For reasons similar to an earlier poster, I'd like to find a way to map a button to mute/unmute the mic during a cell call.
A small application was posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=386810 which does this.
However it does not work on the Treo800w (as well as a few others) due to the fact that it looks for text on the button, which isn't there in this model.
In any event, after exhaustive searching - their doesn't appear to be any ready-made solution for this. I'm willing to write my own, but it's not even clear to me from the msdn api docs that it's even possible to directly manipulate this? Is this type of control "protected" from the Windows portion of the phone?
The idea would be to write a tiny app to toggle it and then map it to aebutton or something similar.
This is pretty much exactly what "itsallwright" did, and I'd like it for the same reasons - it's just his approach doesn't work on the Treo800w.
Thoughts?

Goodmorning everyone
..by being the owner of this device, and for which I am satisfied
I noticed (a bug?) upon opening the application
"Browser"
if you want to enter your own web account by typing
user and password, the keyboard provided by the app,
does not display the entire group of keys by concealing precisely
the most extreme ones (see key 1 or key zero)
and there is no way to
remedy this lack.
note well:
this condition is created only and exclusively during the input of user and password
in fact in other conditions, the keyboard is complete
I ask you:
"Is there a valid solution to remedy this gap?"
... maybe a different app or a more suitable setting ???
THANKS to all, however
