I am having some problems with SoftKEy app. I am trying to get it to launch the windows calendar, but for some reason it lists calendar, but attempts to load HTCcalendar.exe which I am not running. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?
I just made you a cab that should fix the problem.
Copy this over to your phone, run it then soft reset.
you could also take a look at the WiKi site. There is a registry entry that you can change as well. for some reason 112 and 113 stick in my head...

Fixed
That did the trick duprade! Thanks it worked like magic!
Not a problem.

Not seen this anywhere before but I realised yesterday the camera had stopped functioning. Went into 'Button Config' to make sure it was assigned properly and discovered '<none>' next to the button command.
Some digging later I realised the entire function has disappeared from the machine!
Anyone know how to get it to work again - preferably without losing all my data? :?:
( I like emoticons me... )

Oh my - 37 people read the request for help... but nobody was able to answer it!!
I've managed to work out that 'camera/exe' was one of the files deleted somehow... but I can't *see* how it was deleted *or* what other files I need to make it work?
Is there *really* nobody here who can help??
if you do a search you'd see other people reporting their button assignments disappearing in a buff of logic
but i dont think people are missing the exe file in windows which manualy starts the camera
in the posts about the button asignment there are guides as to which reg keys you have to add to get it back

I did a search on 'button assignment' with various other terms such as camera and dismally failed to find anything that could help.
Also, I couldn't find the 'guides' of which you speak despite some serious digging about. Any ideas on where they might be hiding from me?
The camera still isn't working and I'm finding it a royal pain. I know it *will* work because I did a hard reset (just in case) and it worked fine until I restored my data via a backup.
I'll carry on looking for 'guides' and 'reg keys' and wait in the hope someone will be able to offer a lifeline :?
in \windows do you have an exe called camera.exe ?
if so does running it makes the camera work?
if not open your extentedrom and try running the camera cab file manualy to install the camera program
Let me just begin by saying that you all are awesome. I am incredibly impressed you were able to get WM6 working on the Tornado. I have a TMobile SDA (USA). I used Andot's Perfect WM6 ROM to flash. I didn't have any problems other than a few spontaneous reboots after flashing the ROM. I do have a question though.
After flashing, I now cant get my T-Mobile button nor my review, play, and forward buttons(the ones that are on the same row) to work. I would like them to work with media player like they used to. I could give a rat's ass about the T-Mobile button, but it would be nice to be able to assign it or any of those other buttons to a specific function.
Is there a specific customization CAB I was supposed to install for the TMobile SDA (USA) to get those buttons working? How can I use or reassign those buttons?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Hello atarilynx,
I have your same phone, which is also identical to the sp5m.
go get phil's extras.zip from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1417372&postcount=4
and install the sp5m button fix cab
after that, you can to into wmp and assign the buttons to do their normal tasks.
also, after applying that fix, the t-zones button will open to an ie search page.
Many thanks...
Thanks a bunch...that works for me. You all rock!
Maybe one other question...when I imaged my phone, after it was done, it would reset about every few minutes. Sometimes I would try opening stuff, and it would seem to lock up, then reset.
Things seem to be ok now... I have not had it reset on me once after the first few hours. Did others have that experience too?
Neither of the phones that I've flashed have had that problem.
Both of them being TMob SDAs.
I have no clue why your phone was doing that, hope it got that out of it's system!
actually if you guys notice, it still doesnt work. you will try and configure the fastforward button, but when you try to hold it down, it only sees it as a press, not a hold.
true, the hold and seek feature is lost from those buttons, but you can still do that with the joystick if you must.
I personally have no problem with that as I hardly seek through songs.
something else is still tweaked though, on one of my sda's, i did the button fix then installed the tcpmp shortcuts from mobile.surrealnetworks.com/SDAapps.htm
now the buttons do not line up at all with what they are supposed to do. I think the "previous track" button becomes the play button and whatnot.
maybe phil can come up with a better sp5m fix
or, you know, someone else who actually knows what's going on.
I need to sit down some evening and really dig in and figure out what exactly these fix cabs are doing.
I think you need to find the attribute for WMplayer which is used for seeking forward or backward, then save it as Long_AP#.lnk where # is the button number

In the past, I have had poor luck with assigning a Long_AP command when there wasn't one already set for that button. Not sure if something needs to be added to the registry as well?
Otherwise, I would set long buttons for all sorts of apps :-/
Like, in Andot's rom, I love having the long home go to celetask.
Same, I tried to assign an attribute to long_ap, it did not work, why dont you copy the lnk files from AKU2 ROm ?
That is probably a good suggestion, tho, I still think there is probably more to it . . . I would try it out, but I'm moving in a couple days, and have priorities that must be attended to :-(
i think it has something to do with htcwmpplugin.dll, plus maybe sumthing to do with this registry i found it when i dumped the tmobile rom... and checked the rgu files
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\UIPlugins\{72F3E437-17E6-484E-9C96-13181D4039CB}]
"FriendlyName"="HTC Key Mapping UI Plug-in"
"Description"="HTC Key Mapping UI Plug-in"
"Capabilities"=dword:1
i havent tried most ,too lazy!!! hehehe!
as it has been explained in many posts in the past the htcwmpui plugin is for a homescreen wmp plugin and nothing to do with the buttons
oh ok sorry about that... will it have to do with keybddr.dll then?
What are you guys talking about "assigning attributes" to the long_ap#.lnk?
Are you talking about adding in a command line style switch to change the way the intended application will handle the shortcut?
actualy, i have followed these and othere forums for quite some time and i have yet to see if anyone has figured out how to get the media buttons working on roms were that feature does not come by default

Its not attribute, its parameter/arguments
Yes ! thats what we are talking about
I have created a cab file for the same. but the problem of using the htcwmpplugin is that the keys are mapped differently. the internet explorer key is mapped to the previous button and the play key becomes the previous key.. which is a problem.. that's why i want to know which keypad drivers are being used. The keypad drivers used for tornado music or imate sp5m is a little bit different.
Try using it..

i think i got it... i dumpeed the t-mobile rom took the keybddr.dll folder and incorporated it into andots ppe v6. i also removed the keybddr.dll had in it...
after building it...
i then i copied the sp5m zip files (those short_ap1-4 .lnks) to my windows folder, installed the cab tejasphatak gave here... then it all worked...
the keybddr.dll folder
here is the file incase you guys want it...

i copied the files, then installed the cab, but it's still as if i only installed the cab. the back/reverse buttons works as play and hte play button works as forward and etc...
Installed NueLED and after finding out it doesn't work for me I got rid of it almost completely. The only thing I seem to have left behind is one registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Drivers/BuiltIn/nueLED which I'm unable to remove in both MemMaid and Resco Registry. I managed to remove every single item in that key and even tried to rename it, no cigar. Actually, instead of renaming the key it created a new key with a new name, which I cannot remove either. Strange stuff. The device works alright, but this thing just bugs me. WM6.

If you can't delete, then there is a reason! Perhaps you should leave it alone, before you possibly cause some damage. If it bugs you that much, just hard reset.
I also want to know that..and I'm so thankful that I'm here in this site.

Well, I just cannot think of any reason why I shouldn't be able to delete a key I myself created and therefore it's useless (now I'm talking abou tthe "renamed" one). As for the original NueLED key, it should be safe too as it's specifically mentioned in the NueLED thread as a part of manual uninstall procedure.
Whenever my phone wakes up from a sleep or I end a phone call, three error messages pop up saying that I'm missing three different files.
Yesterday, I installed some weather apps to try out, but I forgot to backup my regs. So when I uninstalled them, they must not have cleaned up too well and still try to run!
Three errors are:
Cannot execute \program files\Outerdepth\KPWeather\KPWeather.exe
Cannot execute \program files\nrg\chomeminiweather\weather.exe
Cannot execute \program files\nrg\chomeminiweather\monitor.exe
I searched the registry and found some registry entries in the Mort process key. Deleted those. Error still persists.
There is nothing in startup like these. No program files to look for because the folders aren't there.
I just want my phone to go back to normal. Preferably without hard reset.
Please help this fool. :'(
EDIT:
Forgot to say, I'm using a Samsung Omnia i910. Upgraded to compact.net framework 3.5, if that is relevant.
Perhaps this would be more appropriate in each packages
thread?
EDIT:
Please refer to these links respectively

Done with it.
I just decided that it was better to hard reset the phone. The trouble and hours I spent on this weren't worth it, and I just wanted to get back to enjoying my phone.
Maybe these posts will get some sort of exposure and have the problem solved so the next person can find it.
I went the same route and hard reset the phone as well. Oh well!
try reinstalling them and then uninstalling them using SKTools
oh.. and then perform a cleanup using SKTools
still..
.. after using SKtools on a Polaris (uninstall, cleaning up, in normal and safe mode, you name it) I still get the same annoying message.
is there any solution to this?
thanx
alex.
That annoys me totaly. SKTools don't fix the problem. I only could fix it with a dummy exe file. But don't have tested it. It would be nice if the coder of
NRG Mini Chome Weather 1.2.1 + Monitor BJ Version.cab

gives us more informations how to uninstall completly.
Never saw an app like that. No registry key, no startup files, but annoying error messages.
Hi,this is quite urgent, sorry to say so.
I replaced my clock.exe using vjbrik,so that it would open klaxon instead.
Now,I just tried android and now My clock is wrong (I think about 2 hours late),but I can't seem to change it anymore, because I always open klaxon. I tried replacing clock.exe again with one I found on a forum thread here, but it doesn't open... a certificate problem or something.
Could anyone please help me out here? It would be very much apreciated!!
TIA
Just after I posted the previous message I thought, why not booting into winxp again and try if activesync also syncs the time... well this did the trick for now.
Still, it would be very useful to know how to get to my clock settings again on my touch pro, so all suggestions are still welcome.
Thanks in advance
To remove the new clock.exe, either use sk tools (and the replaced rom file tool), or open up \windows with Total Commander, delete clock.exe and soft reset. That will restore the original one.
Thanks,
Removing Clock.exe and restarting did the trick
