Contacts sorting ... - Touch Cruise General

Currently I am seeing the contacts from the SIM as well the contacts from Outlook, is there any way I could see only the Outlook contacts?
Thank you in advance,
MOS

Normally only way is to delete contacts from SIM.
Not sure it's such case with TC...

You can switch this option on/off using "Schap's advanced configuration tool". (and alot of other settings)
edit: "search" and "google" are your friends

Please do say more about the Schap tool ...

i would also like to know! SIM contacts with outlooks ones get annoying, especially when searching

Go to Hkey_Current_user\Control Panel\Phone\ShowSim. Set the value to 0 to disable, 1 to enable.

Alternative key
navigate to HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone
locate DWORD value named "ShowSim"
set its value to 0

Since I am a complete newbie ... how to I get to the registry editor?

Hi,
I've tryed to hide the sim contact, but with no success: I change the registry-key (with Schap's tool and manually too), but when I soft-reset the divice the default value (1) is restored.
Other change in the registry work properly...
Where is the problem?

Hiding SIM contacts

Is there anyway to hide the contacts saved on your SIM?
That is, at the moment I have all my contacts saved on the phone with their full details, I also have a basic copy of my contacts saved on my SIM for when the SIM is placed into my second phone
But when I open up the Caller ID contacts by default it shows all contacts, both on phone and SIM so I end up getting duplication.
I know I can set the view to Contacts only every time I go into it but I would prefer a more default way of doing it.
Also I'm finding that Caller ID contacts takes a while to open and list all contacts even when my SIM card is empty, is this normal?
Thanks for any help.

It is not a program - it is a registryvalue.
Search teh registry for the value "ShowSim" and set it back to "1" instead of "0".
Use totalcommader for it.
And the simcontacts are back again.
But that is what it shoud do - Hide the contacts.
lol
It is function for WM5, but in WM6 don't exist registry value "ShowSim"

It only inserts a reghack. you can do it your own next time. BTW - why don´t you synchronize with outlook. I don´t have any number on sim card. hehe
I know im wierd but is there a way to have it ONLY show Sim contacts in the default contact manager in WM6? And likewisw when you create a new contact that it gets saved to the Sim and not the phone? That's the way i had it set on all my previous phones (non-smart ones like my Razr) Is when i created a contact it'd save aucomatically to the Sim. I know i can create a Sim contact in Sim Manager so that part isnt really a huge deal. I'd just like for my contact list to only load them from the Sim. If that is an option. Or just ShowSim = 1 and delete the contacts on the phone?
oh and btw i found this thread by using the search function
Shane
I have a problem with this. I use the hidesim and set the value to 0 and the Sim-contacts do not show. So far so good, but after a soft reset they are back again......What can I do to solve this?
I have a Touch Cruise with WM6.
many thanxs on the FILE u upload !!!! i was about to ask it as well .
i'll just add that I normally used Advanced Configuration tool since TNT ROMS always had it installed. I did use it in a couple of other ROMS too.
you don't need to delete SIM Contacts! Use RilhasHideSIM that work after soft reset.

hide SIM Contacts

hi,
i recently got a Samsung i600 and i noticed that the "Contacts" App has no option to hide SIM Contacts (i had a HTC Wizard with WM6 Pro before that did this).
Does anyone know a way to do this?
As I recall this is located in the Settings application. For some reason there are hacks to turn it off directly in the registry as well.

Thanks for the responses, but unfortunately this option is not availabe on my phone :-(

Deleting duplicate contacts

Is there a way to delete duplicate contacts ? I hate when i sync my polaris on a pc that i never synced before and it copies the contacts onto outlook and it copies them back as a duplicate.
BTW : Its not an option to delete em manually, since i have over 500 contacts.
Thank you for your time

i use duplicates remover.
it is a german website, but the software is english
You can also use SKTools for this. Removes duplicate contracts, appointments etc etc. A great tool with lots of other options.

Hey guys.
How about a tool to stop SIM contacts AND phone contacts appearing?
Thanks in advance, Matt
Found a solution and a great tool it would seem:
It's true, I found the Schaps Advanced configuration tool (works w/wm6.1.) It has the SIM option and many more cool options.

What other options on it should I be using? Any ideas?

hiding SIM Contacts

I just came from the Tilt and on the Tilt you can store SIM contacts and not show on your regular contacts.
On my Fuze, it shows both...how do I hide the SIM contacts so it doesnt show on the main contact folder?
I'm also interested if there is a way to do this.

Use the software name "Diamond Tweak"... there is an option for this
If you don't want to install the program, try this
Hide SIM Contacts: HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone - create a new DWORD value named "ShowSim" and set it to 0
THANK YOU!
If you download the Advanced Configuration tool theres a drop down menu for this option as well.
there is also a cab, search nikisimfix
Don't ask to be spoonfed.
That could have been answered with a simple search.

Owner information

In the hd2 i can't enter owner information, so impossible to add pre-owned software like resco explorer. any solutions?

point 5
No need to change anything in the registry.
It's very simple: just go to the contacts tab and press 'more'. At the top of your contacts list, there's an entry called 'me'. It's meant to be your 'business card' or something. Anyway, just fill in your details (or if you already have a contact entry for yourself, you can assign that to the 'me' card).
The name and e-mail adress you enter here will automatically (and secretly) be used as owner info.
I could register Resco Explorer just fine, without ever bringing the original owner info settings back.
Thanks a lot...

I wonder if it works the other way around as well. I mean, if you change your owner info to your nick in the registry (or by using the 'old' owner settings icon), does that affect the name you entered in the 'me' business card?

yes... the "me" is only a shortcut to that data on the registry.
edit .
Nothing of all these tips works for me.
I can't register some applications that base their register upon the owner info (like hicalc)
Maybe someone knows the registry entries that stores the owner info?
Thanks.
Nacho Garcia.
In the Me contact I had both first and last name filled out. Found that the registration name (owner) was both names without a space in between! This foxed me for a while but registration worked once I realised.
problem solved with the "Touch X show owner.cab" from the thread:

Thanks to all.
Just an FYI, Owner info is located in the registry under; HKCU\Control Panel\Owner

what if you don't have that reg key?
Install BsBTweaks, which is free. Once installed, tick the "Owner Info - Show or hide the Owner Info in settings." button.
Then in Sense, go to the "Settings" tab. In the bottom bar you have an option to "Show all settings", That will take you to the settings page where you will now find "Owner Information" settings.
HTC really should have made it easier to find.
