Hi all
When I have my Trinity in my active car kit, the power lockout (set at 15 mins) kicks in. I want this when the phone is on battery but not when on mains / car power. Having the device lock means having to unlock it to respond to any voice calls, etc.
Anybody know how / if you can tweak to give;
battery - 15 lock require PIN entry
powered - no lock
TIA
Maxi
I have this sitting on my HD, I know it has worked for me in the past but I haven't used it in a while.
Thanks - will give it a go tomorrow (err, later today).

Tried but apart from saying that it was written for a different version of Windows, didn't actually do anything,
However, may have found an alternative in the forums - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=259368&page=2 post number 17.
Just changed so will see what happens.

my asus power turn off and i need to turn on every hour
why?
my power save setting its not set.
Well,
- Have you changed the rom?
- This is a new device, or used?
- When do you recognized this problem?
- You got this problem when the device is on the charger?
- Maybe the device got some water, sweat, or vapor?
- Try to remove the battery for 1-2-3 hours, then put it back and try to full charge the batt.
- Try to do a ROM update, with an official ROM.
After this, tell if the problem is still.
lvikel2, hopefully you mean real shutdown - not the sleep mode. I write so because you mentioned power saving for some reason.... So let's talk about the situation when your battery is fully charged.
Prior flashing the device and removing battery for several hours you should check one little thing - a small switch hidden under the battery unit cover. The cover has a special flange which pushes the small switch when the cover is closed properly. If the flange is broken or the switch under it is not good - you will get spontaneous shutdowns.
i have the same problem. I tried putting a small paper in that small switch and it helped me for a month again its happening. whats the use of that switch anyway. can i take it off. Pls reply me at [email protected]
I had this problem too. My P525 works fine until few days ago ... i drop it(i think this is then it bagin) but everything else is working good it dont suspend etc.. so back to my problem a pice of paper on battery probably slov turn off problem but some times device go to sleep mode (like you if puch power buton).
i have this problem too, any solution?
Hi guys, this probably isn't specific to my tablet model.
I recently had issues with my tablet, Ampe A10 Quadcore; it was always showing that it was charging, even when unplugged. It eventually died completely but could also be charged via USB so it is not the end of the world. I'll keep it brief...
Basically, I have removed the inlet thingy, for the direct power, from the mainboard and it still says that it is charging. Have a look at the attachment and, if you can, please tell me what I need to do to get the unit to be in the state of 'discharging'.
I had a look at the thing that came off and I believe that (with my limited knowledge) 3 is ground, it had a pin going down the middle of the inlet; 2 and 4 are a gate (from the looks of what I pulled off) that detects when something is inserted, it must also take the - or +; and then 1 and 5 takes the other - or + and it just a solid connection that picks up the electricity on contact.
I need to know how to make a change so that it makes the status discharging and also what the best way of doing this is.
Thanks!
Also open for any questions.

How to fix - Do the staple trick that I did IF you pryed your lock button open. There are contacts which aren't visible unless you open your phone up. Put a staple lightly but directly into the slot without touching the contacts for you camera or any other components. A light touch will trigger it and the power button should create a electrical circuit for a second and my phone turned on!
Hey guys,
New to the forum members but not new in experience as this site is a great help :victory: (not sarcasm)
YES I WATCHED THE NOOB VIDEO - found another thread which said "Use a little screw driver move black tape and you'll see little lines touch the with screw drive should turn on"
Link to another thread I found but didn't help - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1621940
(MY PHONE WAS OFF AT THE TIME) Right.. so I dropped my phone on Monday and probably fell on top of the lock button when there's a case (yeah I know.. weird right) So I couldn't turn it on and had to take the backplate off and with staples on the bus (I looked like an idiot) but voila! it turned on. But when I reached home I pryed out the lock button as I dented it too much and now it's broken and the lock button mechanism is broken (the little cube with the clicky button)... I installed an app when I got home to use the proximity sensor to lock and unlock the phone (TAP TAP APP) *Free*
-TODAY- I woke up a while ago, and called a number I didn't know but called me.. so just as I got off the call I needed to end the call but the screen kept waking and not waking but he could of ended it but was stupid enough not to darn telecom marketers.. so I waved my hand to unlock it but then the black screen just stayed there and I took out the battery.. (stupid I know but I didn't want my minutes to go).
Thank you guys much appreciated if I get this done today. IT IS A ROOTED PHONE BY THE WAY!
Fixes i've tried - Plugging into a computer
Taking out the battery whilst it's charging and placing it back in
Placing the battery in, charging it, taking it off charge and charging it again
Hi,
hoping someone can give some advice as I'm running out of ideas. Essentially what happens is that my Desire S powers off whilst I am using it, mostly whilst I am navigating through the phone or using any kind of App (not always immediately, but always after a few minutes). I can power it up again afterwards but it will not boot up all the way & instead powers off again. However, if I connect it to a power source it will power up all the way again and it also doesn't power off whilst I use it and it is connected to a cable power source. So far I have:
- Bought a new battery
- Placed folded paper on battery
- Done a Factory reset (everything is stock, phone hasn't been rooted)
Through all of this the problem has continued. Another weird thing that has been happening whilst all this is going on is that the phone seems to have issues keeping the date & time synced. It sets the date to some day in 1980 & time is also incorrect. I have to manually set the date & time as it doesn't correct itself over time.
Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
I'm using S view cover on my Note 4. Whenever I close the cover and open it again in within few seconds the screen already locked automatically. Under settings I set the screen to automatically lock in 10 minutes so theoretically it should not locked when I open the cover within few seconds.
I'm using pattern locking for the screen lock by the way.
My older phone Note 3 with S view cover doesn't behave like this. It won't get locked until 10 min (which is my setting).
Anyone else using S view cover having the same behavior?

I just tested this, I've confirmed that on mine when I close the S-View cover it does in fact stay unlocked for however long I've set the automatic lock time to. The setting I'm changing is in the lock screen settings, called "Lock Automatically", and changes how long it waits to lock the phone after the screen turns off. I tried it set both at 5 seconds and 1 minute, and after closing the S-View cover I timed it for 15 seconds starting once the S-View screen turned off. When it was set to 5 seconds the phone was locked when I opened the cover, and when it was set to 1 minute the phone was still unlocked. I'm not sure why yours locks immediately, but I'd probably just double check to make sure your lock time setting is correct.
Also I will mention I'm using the fingerprint unlock, not the pattern unlock, so I'm not sure if that makes any difference- I'll try out the pattern later and see.
I tried lock automatically for 5, 10, minutes, etc still the cover will lock it within few seconds as if the setting is 'lock immediately'.
I also tested with both pattern & fingerprint. I had the same immediate locked result.

Ok I did another test. Apparently now it works under 'normal' mode. So far most of the time I'm using it with 'power saving' mode ON. I turned it off and seems OK now. This is weird because my old Note 3 works with power saving ON and OFF.
Soul777toast, does your one work with Power saving mode ON?

I don't know because I've never had to turn power saving mode on. I've got a 30-40 minute commute each way every day for work and my phone sits in a dock charging for the whole time, so I basically never get below 70% or so on most days. I did test it one day just to see how the battery would last and didn't plug in to charge at all for the whole day- normal useage from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM, with bluetooth, NFC, and location on the whole time, and wifi on periodically. By the end of the day I was only down to 35%. My conclusion: this battery rocks! If I get around to it I'll try testing with power-saving mode on, but unless you're seriously pushing the phone and can't charge overnight I haven't seen much need for the power-saving mode. For that matter, if you ARE in a situation where you need to save power, you probably actually WANT the phone to lock immediately, rather than using resources keeping it running!
Ok. I guess my concern is why it doesn't work in power saving mode. It should work the same way just like note 3. Anyway let me know if had a chance to test it out. Thanks.

I am using LED Flip cover and immediately when I close the cover the phone gets locked.
I have:
- 10 min auto lock
- pin
- power saver mode off
- newest software update
Changing the above setting don't matter.
--> Looks like it's not only you and the S-View Cover...
