Since upgrading to new AT&T Rom and installing all of the bells and whistles you have all helped me with, I am having a problem. I installed a cab titled marioncopera9. While this version of opera works well, it wants to open everything. This includes any window I open in Weather Watcher or in anything requiring flash. When I uninstall this version of Opera, MarcSinger's weather watcher is still broken.
Any ideas besides start from scratch?
Also any better version of Opera besides the one I am running? The previous version I had will no longer run since flashing to the new HTC rom.
Am I asking the right questions or providing the right info?
What version of opera is it specifically?
Opera shouldn't do any of this, you may have an early, early version of the 9 rom (9 isn't out yet, but there are lots of early versions floating around).
It was touted as a 9 beta I believe. Any ideas where I can find the most recent "real release candidate?" I have been to Opera's website but for the life of me cannot get any version to install on my phone as I don't see any CAB files on the site and apparently am not smart enough to know what to do with what they have.
Any help, direction, or specific thread? I have done the search and cannot get the "right" hit from the forums to help.
Short answer: Hard reset is the easiest way to fix.
Long answer: Opera 9.33 mobile (and the fakes claiming to be 9.5) are all leaked betas. Because they're leaked, you're bound to have problems, and Opera will *NOT* support you.
Is there anything you can do, short of hard resetting your phone? Not without alot of registry editing and knowledge that you probably don't have, or you wouldn't of posted this thread
Even if you had the knowledge, you would have had to know that this would been a problem when you installed it and backed up the appropriate registry keys prior to installing. Otherwise, you'll still need to hard reset, copy the settings, install opera, uninstall opera and put back your settings...
BTW, all of this was already posted in a thread in the developing and hacking forums... This is a redundant thread.
Hope this helps!

Im running THIS ROM, and it has the version of PIE thats included with wm6.1, despite being a wm6.5 ROM.
Im not in any way complaining about this ROM as it is very fast, stable etc.
But, im just wondering if its possible to upgrade to the newer build of PIE.
I dont know if its PIE6 or whatever, as Ive lost track of which is which.
But i cant seem to find a cab for it anywhere (and yes, I have searched)
Is it possible to extract files from a 6.5 emulator and copy them across to your device to use? If yes, could anyone advise me on which files I would need?
If it isnt as simple as this, then, it sucks. lol
So yeh, if anyone can help me with this, ill be very happy.
Plus, i think many others may want to know about this too.
Thanks
Cris
I'm pretty sure it is possible to install IE Mobile 6 separately, but I'm not sure how. Somebody will probably be along to explain.
That said -- I'm not sure I'd recommend doing so! IE6 is a decent browser, but I'd say that Opera 9.7, Iris, and Skyfire are all better. I actually prefer to DOWNGRADE to the old PIE, because it handles mobile sites better than any of the "full" browsers.
yeh, despite the features available in more recent browsers, I still enjoy the simplicity of IE mobile.
If it's basically running PIE 5, then most likely the chef disabled PIE 6.5 with a regedit. Here's how you 'upgrade' it (whether or not it's an upgrade is debatable, lol):
Go to HKLM\Security\Internet Explorer and change the value of 'MSHTML' from 0 to 1 and soft reset. That should do it, unless the chef actually replaced all the PIE stuff with one from an old build (I kind of doubt it).
well, im gonna try this now
If it works, I will be incredibly happy xD
Well, there was no 'MSHTML' entry where you said it would be
Damn.
It appears he did actually replace it.
Oh well. Cant blame me for trying.
At least i now know what to tell others for this problem
THANK YOU TED
You can always try entering the 'MSHTML' value, setting it as a DWord=1. It's worth a try. Just delete it if it doesn't work.
Sounds like the chef may have removed the BROWSINGIE, widgets, and/or another package or two from the ROM.. you could make some cabs out of those missing packages and install them, that would probably set you up and running But afaik there are no existing cabs for this right now, so you'd have to create them.
From reading a few post after doing a search here on XDA_Devs it seems that unfortunately ie needs to be cooked into the rom, there are no cabs available, and the ones that are... don't work! Sorry!

Thanks for your help anyway ^_________^
OK, I'm officially frustrated with my ATT Fuze (Raphael). I've looked and looked, but I haven't been able to find a definitive answer...so I need some major help, please.
1) I use my WM Phone to keep me together, business-wise...so I need more than just today's appointment on the home screen. I need something that will integrate my appointments and/or tasks into TF3D, either by altering the home tab, or providing a new one. That's why, after searching, I tried Manila-Today (I think that's name)...it showed promise, but the very things I need (appointments, tasks), it doesn't support. I don't want TF3D-Detached or SecondToday if I can at all avoid it...I want something integrated. Is there a definitive answer for this?
That's the big one I've been researching...for a while now, too. I have a couple of other questions I haven't dug too deeply on (I've been researching the above like crazy!), but I'd love to have answered if someone has the time:
2) I'd like to get rid of the AT&T "trial-/bloatware" that comes on my phone. Does anyone know if the same trick for the tilt works with this device (soft reset after initial set-up, before countdown ends)...and without damaging it?
3) A lot of the things I'm looking at in terms of altering the TF3D requires that you know the version of it, and I'm a bit confused by all the names being bandied about (TF3D, TF3D2, Rhodium version, etc.). How in the heck can I tell what I have? At least that will give me a place to start in terms of adding new tabs, changing that god-awful landscape menu, getting some backgrounds, etc.
Sorry for ranting...it's just that I have this supposedly incredible phone, and I feel that I can't do jack with it. I appreciate anyone's help...thanks.
1. Try SBP Mobile Shell, short of using SecondToday or the Detacher, its the only other inerface that will run in conjunction with TF3D.
The calendar tab does provide some details but there is no appt tab.
2. Yes
3. Go to your settings tab/About, the version is there.
I was like you when I first got my Fuze because the Tilt development had gotten so far and ther was nothing initially available for the Fuze.
Patience, flash a couple of cooked or stripped ROMs and read all you can because it IS a different device with different anomalies, and you'll be lovin' it in no time.
One important one is that the RUU wrapper does not completely wipe the previous ROM, so you can experience bugs if you do not flash back to stock ROM every few flashes.
I`m trying to run flash player in Opera, with no luck... Do you have any ideas how to do that? Have someone been able to run it in opera?
And I want it, but I think is no way to do this.
All (more or less recent) Opera versions allowed to enable Flash, I guess it's some licensing issues that makes them disable Flash support in all their release versions.
There's a program called "Flash enabler" here on xda, you can try that. It may not work because it modifies opera.ini, and Leo Opera uses the registry to store its settings. The trick is to find out what changes need to be made and make them manually. You'll need a modified axobjects.ini and a couple of tweaks. Looking into the ROM I can see that all needed files are there.

Is anybody or you going to write about the steps providing working flash in Opera?
I gave a suggestion with regard to where to look. I personally don't have an HD2 yet (although I'm using an Opera Mobile 9.7 from a Leo ROM, and it certainly supports flash). Moreover, when I get an Opera with flash support one of the first things I do is disable it. I don't like the thing, although I prefer to have it handy, just in case.
So I'd suggest that you guys look for a solution. I will look into it but only after I get hold of the device myself.
I'm also looking for this info in order to use BBC iplayer but so far to no avail
I don't know if it helps but internet explorer for mobile is flash enabled, but iplayer doesn't work on that... from searching people suggest opera, then I saw a post which linked back here suggesting installing coreplayer.if anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful to know, or even if there's any chance of an iplayer app coming out for wm6.5?
it is easy to run flash in explorer, but i dont like that app (it doesnt have pinch to zoom).. i tryied opera flash fix, but leo isnt oficcialy supported, so i hadnt luck... im not developer, so i cant make any devwork here :-(
Ok, I was wondering if anyone out there possibly knows (without flashing to custom rom) how to uninstall verizon's junk off the omnia i920. I tried bunch of custom roms and while they were good, each one of them had bugs. I tried to build my own last night without any luck whatsoever.
I know there has to be some work around where I can take the verizon stuff off. Or could someone tell me what I did wrong when I built my own rom...
I used Wozzers i920 kitchen. I hit buildos and then pressed the play button and it put files into OEM, SYS, and all those other folders. I went through and deleted some stuff in the OEM, SYS folders and made sure initfiles was clear of them as well as the rgu, but when I flashed my phone it wouldn't go past the verizon wireless screen.
Am I totally missing something? I tried taking out the following: All VZW bloat (games, nav, cityid, vvm, songid, Vcast and I'm sure a couple others), Bing, Office One Note, Excel, PowerPoint, Samsung Widgets, Windows Live and Opera.
Is there an exact step by step thread or threads to help me out, because I checked out modaco...was I supposed to drop the .nbo file back into buildos? I am so lost and I would love to get the VZ junk off.
Thanks in advance..I know this is alot to ask for...but I'm just wanting to remove a couple things and this phone would be perfect then.
In my opinion, the 'bugs' in most of the custom ROMs are less objectionable than the bugs in the stock ROM.
Have you tried Ninja4Hire's ROM? He uses builds that are inherantly more stable, 6.5 as opposed to 6.5.x.
I prefer his XDA version 7, so far. My phone is now the fastest I have ever had, and trouble free except for occasional added software conflicts.
You will need to read up a lot (at Modaco) and start practicing to figure out cooking your own ROMs, but there is quite a bit of help over there.
Yeah I have ninja's v7 rom on my phone now and something is going on with the sound when i get a text message. I'm going to try Amdzeros lite rom here shortly...i didn't have issues with text sounds until today so I don't know what I possibly done to get the sound not working.
I try to read up at modaco, and I joined that forum but I cannot post anything there or click links. I tried contacting the admins there but noone ever got back to me.
Guys,
I just became the, now rather dubious, owner of a gTablet that a colleague brought for me from the States. So far I am not that impressed. Several apps that supposed to be on there, aren't (no Kindle app out of the box, and no gMarket, despite what the manual says).
SO, I try the announced update procedure: fails.
First time fails at 8%. Second time fails at 13%, third time fails at 28%, fourth time fails at 4%. Is this a joke of some sort? Also the download is rather slow, as in, they use smoke signals to get the message across!
Does anyone have the update as a file that I can run as an apk perhaps?
I also have to point out that the GUI rather sucks. The settings menu misses about 50% of the Android 2.2 options (I have a HTC desire. Waaaay more settings options...)
After my complaints, lets get to figuring this out.
1) Can someone point me to the update pack if it is available for download via my Mac and can be installed using that ES explorer program it has installed?
2) Does the update provide Google Market or the original weblink? Does it use a different gui or still the same simpleton gui?
3) if not, is there a simple ROM flash I can do that gives me a different GUI and google Market?
I have flashed my HTC Hero before, which was not a big deal. However, I want things done simple, so if there is a good ROM with a nice GUI and simple instructions for a noob (I got two left hands when it comes to this sort of stuff), and Google Market, I would gladly see a link.
Any support will be very welcome!
you found the right place

Forget about the stock update and read about TNT lite or the vegan beta Rom if you feel experimental. You can get market flash and pretty much all the Google goodies.

A good start would be the following guide.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
Understand that there are newer versions of the rom referenced, also there's VEGAn, a rom based on the Vega.
The Gtab stock needs a lot of help but it is a very good product with a little TLC and some grunt work:
Different devices/users different opinions. I am more than satisfied with the performance and feel of my Gtab without flashing a different ROM and what I did was follow these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827209
I used root explorer instead of AndRootFile
Then I changed my launcher to ADW.Launcher
Side load flash (Instructions/.apk on XDA-developers)
Do the market fix to get all market (Instructions/.apk on XDA-developers)
add titanium backup
add ROMManager
Note: When I applied the latest update from Viewsonic (fixed the video driver, now AngryBirds, etc working) I had to re-root the device but everything else works fine.
Even fixed the issue with Gtab not seeing Ad-hoc network from phone (Instructions can be found on internet). Now my Gtab rocks, connects to my home Wifi or if not available connects to my Phone Wifi.
I can still launch the default tapNtap if I want to and Viewsonic upgrades apply fine. I had an issue with update also....Support had me set the sleep to "off" and then it worked fine, however the update image was posted on XDA-developer:
Bobtran,
Interesting perspective. Could you run Quadrant and show us what that score is?
I have had TnT up to 2.2 then swithed to VEGAn beta3 now. Q =2411
Most everything runs very very fast...
All, Thanks for the suggestions and the useful links . I might be flashing mine this weekend.
As for which ROM to use, what are the pros and cons for one over another? E.g. if I were to take the TnT ROM (I think it's at 2.4.1 now?), how does that fare against, say, the Vegan Beta4 (I think the latest is beta4 from what I read on some posts)
Bobtran, did you have a link for the update image? seemed like you were going to post it, but got cut short...
Guys,
I am trying to install Clockwork Mod v08 as per one of the links. First issue is that the tablet won't mount the SDcard to my desktop. SHouldn't be a big issue as I can coy/paste the required files from the internal storage to the SDcard via ESexplorer (standard installed on the gTablet).
However, how do I know it installed correctly? I don't see a new app and the boot install goes very fast. There is an opened box with an arrow pointing down and a load bar that seems to have green hashed filling, as if it's preparing to install. Then suddenly the splash screen pops up. The box with arrow and progress bar are there for a second or so, maybe 2. Seems rather quick. Is this correct?
EDIT: I wanted to say the boot screen didn't come up when starting up with vol+ and pwr, but just noticed, it does... so should be ok
well, seems I have been successful in flashing the new ROM (TnT 2.4.0) using CWM-v08.
Question though, the instructions in the TnT installation guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245) seem to say that the market fix only is a partial fix (note that the comment applies to TnT2.2).
Now that I installed the TnT2.4.0 ROM, I was wondering if the market fix is also only partial for TnT2.4. If yes, can I run the patch at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827209
and if yes, would that give me full Market access? If not, what's involved in getting full Market access?
As a side question that may not belong here but wouldn't be answered in the appropriate forum section: I have an XT701 phone that needs a Market Fix. Would the fix at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827209
also provide my phone with the Market? Just a side question, if no answer, that's fine...

Unfortunately I flashed to TnT lite yesterday so can't do that anymore without starting from scratch. Just testing the waters so to speak.

For the market fix, just see the link that I have in my first post, in the TnT Lite thread. That fix could also work on other devices. It's the same fix in the link you just posted.
