Amstrad CPC emulator PocketCaprice 0.9 released, with many new features & bugfixes!
PocketCaprice, the only Amstrad CPC emulator for the Pocket PC (no Smartphone compliance, sorry), has just been updated with several new features, enhancements and bugfixes:
• Built-in keyboard support.
• Added disk image saving function.
• Added snapshot saving function.
• On screen buttons added.
• New assembly blit routine, may be faster depending on CPU model.
• Intel 2700g double pixel feature (Dell x51v/x50v).
• Sound buffer synchronization fixed. There are a known bug, on faster devices may freeze PocketCaprice during a few seconds.
• Many other minor fixes and enhancements.

Note, that I'm still keeping the PowerAMP UI as simple as possible. There won't be like 10x+ options in context menus (unless somebody creates skin with such menu ), many features will be disabled by default, so only who really needs them will enable them.
Also, the PowerAMP releases usually have more features than highlighted in this list.

we'll see how it compares to playerpro. been so long since poweramp that playerpro got a huge lead.

So yeah. Call me crazy, but despite the "September 2011" part, the post itself dates back from November 2010.

Gallery Connect is a Picture/Video app with extended features not included in the stock Gallery. Unique features:

Notes:
Should work on any Android 2.2+ device
Remote functionality requires a Wifi enabled Android device and a UPNP/DLNA Media Renderer on the same network (LAN).
Local video playback is delegated whatever media player you may have installed.
Photo/video support is highly device dependent. As a generally rule, anything you can play off a USB drive should work via DLNA. Videos shot on phones/tablets seem to work well. Canon .mov video files seem to have audio issues on many devices (why they did not use MP4/AAC is beyond me)
Please click some ads! This is a fully functional version and I've spend 100s of hours on it. I'm not asking for your money. Just a little of your time. If enough people do it, I may be able to get a new USB cable.

Enabling Play To/DLNA
Gallery Remote should automatically detect your DLNA devices when you select remote, but you may need to enable their Media Renderer functionality. Here's how for select devices:
Windows Media Player 12 (Windows 7)
Click "Stream"
Select "Allow Remote Control of My Player..."
Confirm Changes (depending on security)
LG TV:
Turn on the TV
Select OK when it asks for permission
Panasonic Blu-Ray DMP-BDTx10:
Setup ->Player Settings ->Network ->Network Settings ->Remote Device Settings

I've been mostly testing the remote stuff on my Galaxy S. It appears that 3.2.1 has a bug where it disregards the manual rotation handling and recreates the Activity. This leaked the server connection and would cause Socket in use exceptions for subsequent connections. Took the opportunity to clean up the connect/disconnect handling.
I'm getting close to posting it on the market. Anybody have any issues? Any suggestions for functionality? Any name suggestions?

I now have all the crashes I've seen fixed. Hopefully, I didn't add any new ones. I've made crash logging optional. It will present a notification. You can just click "Ok" to send it. Please leave a short description as it will help me out.
Important: I am now passing the last 20 lines from the syslog on crash/parse error. I'm only sending logs from this app and the ActivityManager. I've added extra remote logging for JPEG parser issues. It will send me the name and path of the file, but not the picture. It will send up to 3 parser logs per session.

The last release was supposed to be the the final release, but I ended up making some major changes. Lots of new networking code.
Mostly performance and bug fixes to many minor to list, but here are the major ones:
When playing a video, you will now get a seekable progress bar and the ability to pause (stop) a video
Forced the screen to stay on during slideshow to prevent SD unmount (and app crash)
Rewrote network stack to improve device detection, play position accuracy and player notifications
Fixed bug with NOTIFY (Should improve compatibility/stability)
Reverted to my JPEG thumbnail parser
I saw no crashes with the latest version! Let hope this version is as good.

Update 0.9.6
Some minor fixes and annoyances resolved:
Wrote a custom layout handler to handle ad/video progress base location. Faster, fewer listview invalidates
Changed picture filter to ignore images <32k as opposed to specific file names.
Use my mp4 parser to agument Android's for better resolution detection.
Fixed issue where the TIFF parser was reporting errors on files < buffer size.
Hopefully, I'll get this on the market in the next month.

Update 0.9.6.1
Fixes a couple of force closes
A tail of two releases. I've post both 0.9.6.1 and 0.9.6.1d. The "d" stands for debug. In the event of a parser crash, version "d" will send the EXIF header as part of the debug. The EXIF header primarily contains camera information at the time of shoot. It may contain things like your name, your GPS location at the time of shooting. It doesn't contain anything sensitive like user names or password. It's the same information you send when you upload a picture to Facebook or Picasa or e-mail a photo (minus the actually photo). I've gone through hoops to make sure it does not upload any part of the visual image.
I encourage the debug version as I still have a few crashes that I can't seem to nail down. I will not share the information.
Update:
Thanks! I've now found a couple of problems. First, some apps are naming GIF files a jpgs (arg). Second, some cameras are writing invalid type tags. I'm updating my code to ignore them as per the spec.

Oh well, "final beta" is out the window at this point.
Enabled hardware acceleration (Image size must be < 4MP on Tranformer). Watch those thumbnails fly!
Removed custom preferences in favor of Android standard. Sorry, your old prefs will be lost.
Add new prefs for slideshow delay, hardware accelaration, max image size, remote scaling, and thumbnail list size.
Add the ability hide thumbnails (configurable by orientation). Portrait disabled by default.

The Simple Pocket Media Downloader aka. TSPMD is an audio and video downloader app for android. It supports various tubes.
Thanks to this app, you can save all of your favorite songs and videos locally on your device and watch them later without an internet connection.
How to use?

Update to version 0.1.3 is out. We fixed the broken YouTube decipherer. Now you can play and download videos and music from YouTube again.
