IM+ Now Works with 6.1!! Flash away - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

For those of you having issues upgrading to the more stable and faster WM6.1 because of incompatibility to IM+ instant msging.... feel comfortable to flash now. Shapeservices just release an upgrade v4.55 that works great with 6.1.
Awsome work guys!!!

not working with every 6.1 rom.. im getting blank box where txt is suppose to be put in on the current rom im running..

Umm... isn't it easier to just use QIP? (www.qip.ru)
Or IM+ supports something QIP doesn't?

well see thing is.. i only can read english
and the qip i downloaded onyl supports icq?

There is an english link at the top right of the screen.

does is support yahoo messenger?

there are no faq so I cant find out if QIP uses text, or internet. Anyone know?

This QiP thing only works with ICQ, so its useless

Also IM+ has a version that works with Lotus Sametime, which is what my company currently uses, so it's a product we're licensed for on a corporate level. QIP looks nice but doesn't cover everything.

Yes it does and working so well more than u expected. In addition, It has ICQ, google talk, hotmail... and 3 more i dont remember.
BTW, in my opinion IM+ is the best chat software for PPC. Ver 4.55 is compatible with WM6.1, I've been using it for a week with latest Dutty 6.1 rom.
I have its cab file, if you want me to share I will upload it.

I believe you have to purchase it, so don't share it. On the main website, there is a trial, so that'll be good enough.

He's talking about QIP, which is freeware for WM. I downloaded it, but have no clue how to add other accounts... thier website doesnt really help.

Palringo is cool, free and works on every 6.1 ROM I've tried.

They added the support for multiple conversations, now it has what I need.
It has a nicer interface then IM+ too, and you can send audio and pictures (itll upload to a palringo server where the receiver can click the link and see). It is really nice!

I like it.. the one downside is that I can not get it to initiate a data connection by itself. I have to open up opera mini, load a page, then palringo will connect using the connection opera opened.
It has become the messenger of choice for me on my PC, for the time being, works nicely through my corporate firewall.

fixed the connection problem..after last rom flash medianet proxy was turned on. turned it off and all was well.

Reinstall Pocket MSN on Treo 750v?

As you all know, the Treo 750v does not come with Pocket MSN, but it is sometime nice to be able to chat on MSN Messenger while on the road. Does anyone know how one goes about reinstalling Pocket MSN onto a device? I have other WM5 devices (Tytn), is it possible to extract the program into a cab to install?
It should be. It can most likely be extracted from the 750 Cingular rom update and cab'd up.
man, better use agile messenger for wm5 - last beta is free and it is so much better than the old msn messenger:
- use smileys
- send camera pictures directly
- keep history of chats (just like on pc)
- use not only msn but also icq, aol, yahoo, google im
here's the download: http://updates.am-im.net/AgileMessengerWMPPC.zip - it's the cab file in the zip, so copy it over to your device and run it there. hint: make the cab file write protected on your desktop (right click on the cab), then copy it over to your mobile's storage card and install it. it won't be deleted then and you can always reinstall it when you need it again.
cheers, lutz
Just install this... ;-)

Does that use WIFI or sms to send messages?
it uses wife to connect, if wifi is available and enabled. sms is never used to send messages, if there is no wifi it uses gprs/3g connection.
i would not use the windows live client - it's a big monster...
cheers, lutz
Hi,
I installed the WindowsLive.PPC2005_ARM.CAB. BUt when I lunch MSN, I can not find where I can put my user name and password.
Thanks for U help.

Excellent, thats just what I'm looking for. Seems like I'd have to pay for it though, not a good sign. Is there anyway I can get this program for free?

Sorry, I wasn't clear on what I said.
I already have Pocket MSN on my MDA, but I'd like to use Agile messenger since it can be used over WIFI too. My question is, is there a way to get Agile for free? I know its a long shot.
One more thing, can Agile be used over GPRS?
Agile for you
Here you go. And yes it can be used with GPRS

I just installed it on my Treo and it works with GPRS even with my MDA pro it uses the available source GPRS.

Agile on Treo
Maybe it works on a Treo 750 but not on your PPC?
Or do you also have a Treo?
Check the site; http://www.agilemobile.com/agile_messenger.html
To me it sounds like e settingproblem because it even works on my SPV550, my Qtek S100 and on a Qtek 2020 without any problems
Good luck!

I don't have a Treo, but a PPC (MDA). I haven't managed to get it to work with GPRS(EDGE), but thanks for your help anyway.
EDIT: I have managed to get it to work on GPRS SOMEHOW. I haven't done anything and it just started working. This is great, I can be on MSN/Yahoo/Google messengers from anywhere! Thanks!
thanks of rthe post of the file, even though its a beta version, I think is really good. I have the SPV M3100. It works really well. When it comes of beta will they make us pay for full version?
Many thanks again!

PocketMSN

Can any one upload pocketmsn cab only without windows live search etc.
I'd like it too.
WM6 Live Messenger sucks. It's almost impossible to change profile on that new version. I counted 19 steps.
PocketMSN_WM5_by_NiTroGen.cab isn't working for me.

I tried with both installed at the same time. So the answer to your question is: Fine .
As a test I did log 2 different profiles on each program on the same machine and did chat one with the other without any problem.
My usage will be to set one with my profile and the other with the profile of my daughter. When I travel with my family, I'll lend her my phone. She will easily connect and not mess my settings.
That is great. I am going to do that as soon as a Flash another Rom. Great idea.
Thanks
File Size on this download is only 384kb. I tried installing and only installs partially. I compared with other PocketMSN cabs and the others are over 1mb. Something must be wrong with this.

Windows Live Messenger UK

Hi, i have searched the dream forum but have not found any conclusive answers to my specific problem. I know that T-Mobile do not allow MSN/ Windows Live Messenger in the UK and as such do not bundle the G1 with it. However it is bundled with the American G1 as far as I am aware and was wondering if there was a way for somebody to upload the application so that i could install it manually, an .apk maybe. I have tried all of the other messenger substitutes and have found them to be satisfactory but have individual downfalls. Since i have used the Windows Live application on the Xperia I have realised how good mobile MSN can be and would like the true experience if at all possible.
i guess the application is actually shipped with every build, but you will need a non-uk sim to activate it.
Please post the apk, worth a try
well i don't really know anything about the application itself since i've never had it, but is there a way to get the application from the phone and upload it or is there any source code that an application can be built with?
Hi!
I would reccommend the program Hi MSN! from the Market. I used to use the "native" IM app, and have to say that I like Hi MSN! more. I am also a UK user
Try Hi MSN, and if you don't like it I will find the old IM.apk

I've tried Hi MSN but i always get connection issues. Most of the time it does not connect at all and other time it disconnects whilst i am logged in without it telling me. I have also tried Meebo and few others but even when they work they do not give me all of the features i would like. The windows messenger on the Xperia is very much like the computer version and i would like something like that.

AFAIK, the bundled MSN messenger use text(!) to send and receive messages if you're not on wifi - unless you have an unlimited sms/text plan, you might be up for a nasty surprise.
I too use Hi MSN, and for me it works flawlessly.

er why not try meebo, it's on the market and a free download. It a very good msn, aim yahoo client. Been using it for a long long time no had any issues at all. i m also in UK
I had it on one build, it wouldn't sign in for me
My gripe with Meebo (as with Palringo et al) is that it's not an MSN (or Yahoo or aim) client - It's a Meebo client, and you connect to MSN/Yahoo/whetever thru their service. An added layer I'd rather be without.

Yes i agree with that but i also think that while Hi MSN is probably the best version out, it still lacks some features that are already available in mobile MSN applications.

MSN, Yahoo!, AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, Myspace and Facebook ALL in one IM APP

Hi, This my first thread, hope to be helpful for some one
After several test with different Im Client found this one and
Working nice on HD2 just have to dowload the "touch HD" one, cause HD2 not listed yet at moment...

= Tested with MSN, Yahoo, working fine
= Manage easly several acounts in one APP
Have tried IM+, Talkonaut, Pigeon... But, i prefer this one
can download here, just ad the http before:

Installed Ebuddy but where is it now?
Hi,
I installed ebuddy to try it. Did as suggested and choose for touch HD. Installation went OK, could start application afterwards.
It did not create an icon so it's not in the list of applications. Looked everywhere. I cannot deinstall it either. It's not in the list of programs to deinstall... where is it.
As long as it was in memory I could activate it by going through the task manager.
Some help please.
Will swith to palringo but I would like to deinstall ebuddy first!

Hi,
ebuddy is automaticly instaled under ur Java embeded soft.
Lauch JBlend app. after u can start ebudy or uninstal ebuddy...
Take really little space on your memory, about 100ko, u can uninstal or keep when u reach some problem with another IM client...
Bye
NO Skype support though! Only IM+ and Nimbuzz support Skype.
Above - There was one way to 'crack' IM+, and that method has now been patched. It was essentially a registry trick to get an unlimited trial and it no longer works. The latest 7.x's are still uncracked and therefore 100% payware. (no one provide links as it's against XDA's rules!)
Palringo needs to support Skype then I'll give it a go.
I really like the look of IM+ but they are having issues with connections for Facebook so until they sort that i am going to stick with Palringom but as mentioned above Palringo doesnt support skype.
Come on IM+ sort it out.....
I stopped reading, when I saw "Java"......
also nimbuzz it's a good im multyprotocol

which messenger is more applicable for HD2?

Hi together,
Which messenger you would prefer to use with the HD2 - AIM or IM+? Which one is more user-friendly, stable, offers more usable features...?
Thanks for any advise!
kind regards,
alkorsi
why dont you just try out what fits ur personally best? its the same as it is with rom's everyone has its personal preference. for example i use the normal messenger. but i dont msn often.
I use palringo
The best one is pigeon... for any needs!
It is the fastest, most stable, best looking and the one with the minimal data transfer!

There's a lot of freeware. Nimbuzz, Palringo, IM+ lite. IMO, Palringo is the best

Ive used Palringo on symbian, windows 7 and windows mobile and for me does everything I need. Its maybe not the best looking interface but it is functional and provides chat option for most of the different providers.
Palringo could be one of the best but it doesnt support skype which is unfortunately not acceptable (for me). I am now using IM+ and am very happy. Connects blazing fast. Integrates nicely in WinMob-Notifications and is easy to use. No functions are missing for my needs, too. But its DAMN expensive!
