Hello, I am looking for a solution to switch between speakers and headphones (not on BT). Thanks.
How is this question meant?
In which Application do you want to switch?
e.g. Radio can switch by "touching" the correct button.
And you can always switch between speakers and headphones if you plug your headphones in or remove them.
Please specify your question.

Thank you for the answer. I wish other applications / programs. Not the FMRadio. If the headphones active, I can not on the speaker. Sorry for my English.

i think its obvious....uhhh...where is the mic. mate???
Plugging in a headset like cord (any 3.5) disables the device mic, you need an adapter (search the uni accessories section of the forums).

Well i use it with my htc wizard and it works just fine...
now as for the jasjar, the strange thing is that i can use
ms voice command when the cable is pluged in....if the
mic is disabled when the cable is pluged in then ms voice command
shouldn't be able to pick up anything iam saying but it does
Universal/Jasjar
If you connect a jasjar to a stereo jack, you will activate the headset profile on the phone automatically, witch means that you will not be able to use your onboard mic for phone calls, You can always try and use your handsfree's headset wire that came with your phone and modify the wiring on that, if you know how...Cheers
Thanks for all your replys you guys,
Is there a way to deactivate the headset profile when a 3.5 stereo cable is plugged in??? pls let me know
Thanks

Hi,
Use a mono jack and you will get audio from the car speakers and the Uni will use the built in mic.
It worked fine for me when I first got my Uni, but now I have bluetooth on the stereo, but better.
Cheers,
Beast
Just wondering.
thanks
Through the main speaker you can. A headset should be connected though since it works as an antenna. The FM Radio application does not start with no headset connected. I never tried bluetooth.
Very interesting

Does this mean you can switch output between the headset and the main speaker throught the FM Radio application? If set to the speaker, does that output *all* audio through the main speaker or only the FM Radio output?
If all audio comes out of the main speaker that would mean there ought to be a way to bypass the (otherwise know as hardware-) trigger for the headset.
TIA,
Cheers,

Yes, that's correct.

You mean allowing the FM Radio program to run without the headset? Yes, you can already do that with a registry change (someone mentioned in another thread). But I don't see the point of that, as you get zero signal without the headset.
Apart from the headset, you can also plug in the 3-in-1 adapter or the USB to 3.5mm adapter, and the FM Radio program would run.

Hi,
No, that is not what I mean. What I would like to know is if you turn on the radio and set it to output to the main speaker do all other WM sounds (notifications, ringtone or even an MP3 playing with a mediaplayer) also come through the main speaker, even though the headset is plugged in.
It would proof that there must be a way to output sound to the main speaker when a wired headset is connected. A thing that is normaly (or on non FM Radio equiped phones) not possible.
Please give it a try and let me know. And if you have the time, give me a total registry dump of a situation where the headset is selected as output and a complete dump with the main speaker selected. That would make my day
Thanks,
Cheers,
Cacti

And of course, your suspicion is correct. I tried it and could confirm that WM sounds still went through headset. I tried setting the alarm. When the alarm went off, the sound (all the sound, FM Radio + alarm tone) switched to headset automatically. And when I dismiss the notification, it switched back to speaker. And the media player cannot run together with the FM radio. Once I starts the media player, the FM Radio closes.

Hi,
This isn't the answer I was hoping for, but thanks anyway. I gues it means the FM Radio has it's own audio handling. Bummer!

its weak they still havent done this yet chinese rip off phones have dvb-t radio via bt
Hi everybody, i'd like to know if anyone knew how to enable the use of the CRUISE microphone while an external earphone (without microphone) is plugged (with a mini-usb to Jack 3.5mm adapter).
Because my original hand'sfree kit is broken, now i want to use earphones to make calls and use the cruise microphone to speak.
When i am calling, i can hear people with my earphones but they can't hear me because there's no microphone with my earphones, so i would like to make calls with my earphones but using the device's microphone.
Is it possible ?
Sorry if my explaination seems too messy..
Thanks a lot
I used standard earphones and Cruise's built-in microphone without any extra efforts or settings on a standard ROM.
Why you did not just try?
Hi, thank you for you answer, i've tried it but people can't hear me when i talk while adapter+3.5earphones are plugged.
I dont know how to make it, maybe modifying something in the registry ?
If somebody knows anything, can he/she tell how to activate the built-in microphone when an adapter for 3.5jack is plugged ?
Thanks a lot
Take a look at this:

Hope it helps!
Is there anything available that will force my HD2 to use the internal mic while a headset is plugged into the 3.5mm socket?
I often use my HD2 to listen to music in my car using a 3.5mm jack to jack cable into the aux in port just near my handbrake which works a charm.
When I get a call the music is interrupted and if I answer it I can hear the caller through my car speakers however they can't hear me as the phone is in headset mode and is expecting a mic to be plugged in.
I don't think it's a simple case of re-routing which mic is used as while that may technically work the caller would be able to hear themselves delayed through my cars sound system. I need the phone to send the mic into speaker mode so it has a detection system that stops the caller hearing themselves but send the output through the headset socket.
I hope that makes sense?
seems strange that it does not working .. i use this way to listen music & gps instructions and it is working ok, with the phone's microphone.. try i different 3.5mm jack (stereo) .. or you have a cooked rom ?
I just tried a different cable and it's working! strange for some reason the HD2 must have thought my cable was headset?
Thanks!
yeah it dosnt work cuz if u look @ the original headset it has 3 lines which meant 2 for the stereo ear pice and 1 for the mic, i have the same prob i dnt like the origenal headset so i use mine which means i have to unplug it every time i get a call, but i think the only way to use good headset with mic is to buy the iphone headset, its the same priciple with a better sound quality of the headset
If your jack has only 3 contacts, the phone can sense there's no 4th one, so there's no mic, and uses the internal mic. If your cable has 4 contacts, it will try to use external mic even if there's actually none.
oooo yeah u r right, lol, jst tried it it work
thnx man
wow, i was just asking myself the same question. i have a pair of sennheiser earphones(without mic), when i take an incoming call the other side cannot hear me most of times. but, sometimes the internal microphone is activated and i can speak using my earphones. this seems a quite random problem, i don't understand. even with skype, sometime i can use earphones, some other time i'm forced to unplug using the loudspeaker...boh...
i want my phone mic since my built in carstero mic is to far away
On a similar note, is it possible to have the internal speaker announce GPS instructions while I'm playing music via Bluetooth?

if you want the voice on the car stero the ngo to the bluetooth settings moor or advance whatever and select play system sounds or something like that
This is a rather common question, but the resolution always seems to be 'get a new cable'
I have a headset, which DOES have a microphone, but the mic on it is broken. Instead of going out and buying a new headset, is there any software anyone has seen to take manual control of which mic is enabled when a headset is plugged in?
I have tasker, but it seems there's only an option for "Microphone Mute", which doesn't differentiate between the headset and the internal.
Ask NSA....because i search that in entire internet and i do not find anything about to disable-enable the internal microphone on an android phone....
