I used to use my Orbit very often as a "USB-drive" with WM5torage. I tried the program on my Orbit 2 but on Kaiser as well, but I can't get it to work.
Windows recognizes new drive but won't access it at all.. can you help?
Neither WM5Storage nor Softick's CardExport II are currently compatible with the Touch Cruise. Softick claim to be working on a new version to incorporate TC compatability, so I guess we just have to wait at the moment...
exatly, neither softick,wm5torage works on qualcom based devices(niki/tc/kaiser)
thank you quys for your answers. but at least HTC made the cards easier accessible then it was in the first orbit
WM5torage on Orbit 2 OK under LINUX EEEPC
Reading your thread, i am having same problem with new Orbit 2 and windows XP not seeing the disk, my Orbit 1 was not a problem at all. However, my little ASUS EEEPC laptop running XANDROS linux, can see the ORBIT 2 as a mass storage device running WM5torage V1.8 without any issues at all. Maybe its a more a windows issue and not just the HTC device itself.
Dunno :-~ but it works just fine under LINUX.

Scot
Softick CardExport works with the Polaris from version 3.08 up.

I have an HP iPaq rx3715 (WM2003), which I used to sync with ActiveSync 3.8. Never any problems.
Nowadays I also have a MDA Vario (WM5), which can only be synced with ActiveSync 4.1, so I installed 4.1. Synching the Vario is no problem.
Now... The problem... I can no longer sync my iPaq.
The iPaq needs ActiveSync 3.8, the MDA Vario needs ActiveSync 4.1.
There is no way to have both versions installed on the same PC. I tried.
I even tried to install the different versions on seperate XP accounts. Didn't work either.
In theory I could install 3.8 on PC1, and install 4.1 on PC2.
The problem with that is that the PST-file is located on PC1, and not on PC2. For security-reasons it is not possible to run a copy of the PST on PC2. (Besides... It wouldn't not be a very handy workaround.)
Now... How can I sync the above two devices on the same PC, with the same PST-file?
Anyone???
AS 4.1 includes 3.8 in it.
When you sync 2003, all icons etc become old type - I do it everyday - sync my universal and sync my Benq p50
No issues.
Well.... My rx3715 won't sync on AS4... But AS4 is needed for the MDA Vario... :|
Anyone else any ideas?
Why do the iPAQ need AS 3.8? Alls WM2003 Devices are working with AS 4 too.
Hello Sjaakman!
Unfortunately, i don't know an alternative way to sync a PPC with a PC, but I can tell you that I've successfully synchronized a rx3715 with a PC running XP SP2 and AS 4.1 many times, infect I even managed to sync a Dell with WM 2002 with the same PC no problem.
I suggest you make sure you have the latest version of AS and that the installation is clean. It is possible that while trying to install the previous version you somehow damaged the current installation which is why it wont sync.
Good luck!
I tried and I tried and I tried.... And I could never get it to work...
I just now tried a clean install of AS... And what do you know... It works
Thanks.

Not sure how you got it to work.
I was never able to get my iPAQ h6315 to sync with AS 4.1. After struggling with it a while, I noticed that in fact, Microsoft states the following on the AS 4.1 download page:
- ActiveSync 4.1 is the latest sync software release for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices.
- For customers using Windows Mobile 2003 or 2002 powered devices, please continue using ActiveSync 3.8.

I just wanted to add that I believe this statement means you don't need to upgrade unless you have a WM5 device.
If any one is interested I can tell you from experience that I've successfully synchronized devices with OSs WM2002, WM2003 / SE (including iPaq 6315), WM5 and CE 4.2 (not PPC) with a clean install of AS 4.1 and no tweaking done. So far it appears to be completely backward compatible.
Just for the record: I am not trying to defend MS. But if you have a similar problem to the one mentioned in this thread, you should check the AS installation before breaking your head trying to find another solution. The problem could also be on the device side, and may be solved by hard reset (not pleasant but effective).
Hi all,
I've recently migrated from a Symbian S60 platform (SE P990i) to Windows Mobile (Treo 750v).One feature I really miss on the p990i is the built-in ability to use the p990i as a USB drive to transfer files without the need to install the PC software.Does anyone know any software that can make the Treo 750v emulate as a USB drive?Much appreciated.Thx!
WM5torage ....
I had problems with WM5torageBut Softick Crad Export II works great.

Some people get an error when using WM5Storage. The main reason for this is that most of the time an application is running in the background. Or some temporary files are still loaded from the SD-Card.
I've used WM5Storage on my SPV C500, C600, M600, M3000 and even on the Treo 750v it's working like a charme
And WM5Storage is also freeware!
Hi
I have installed Activesync 4.5.0 (Build 5096) because it is necessary to keep my HTC S710 in sync.
I have noticed however that I have frequent and repeated program crashes when i try to sync older devices such as my i-mate JAM and HP nw6515 (to my knowledge, both run Windows Mobile 2003 SE).
Did anybody have similar experiences and managed a way around it?
Thank you and best regards
Stefan
I had no problems with my WM6 device + ipaq 4150 (wm2003).
i also have no problems syncing both my xda mini (wm2003se) and my ipaq hx 2495 (WM5) with Acivesync 4.5. both work fine. if it doesn't, i've heard of other people using Activesync 4.2 successfully as well.
He has WM6 on his s710 so 4.5 is mandatory.
Hi,
I am using Vista on my laptop and I own two Universals. They are both MDA Pro versions from Germany and have the latest Tomal 6.1 Firmware.
They have the same software installed and are configured the same way.
My question is this: why does one always get a BlueAngel kind of icon, while the other gets the correct Universal icon within ActiveSync?
I also own a BlueAngel - it gets the correct icon.
This is not limiting any functionality at all, but still it makes me wonder: what's different on one Universal, if I have flashed both with the same ROM?
Cheers,
vma
I've been using my Prophet as a GPS for last 2,5 years, a month ago my wife bought me a 4,3" GPS, which is originally MSi GPS-5607 , but in europa it is sold as SilverChest m4310T or something like that.
As all of these PNA device O/S interface was hidden; I used a program called wolf ncu to reach WinCE 5.0 Core interface.
I was planning to install some Win Mobile applications on it, but there were no chance to install any .cab on it, there were no "wceload.exe" in it, So carried it from my Prophet and added to Windows folder of PNA .. But it didn't work at all..I tried executability anaylsis program but it also refused to run.
Is there way to make wceload.exe run ?
My other problem is , it is not connecting to the PC via ActiveSync (my PC is XP ), I think the required application in PNA is also deleted or disabled.
How can I make it run ?
regards
nothing ?
thanks anyway
