Problems after ROM update - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

Hi,
I updated my HTC Kaiser 120 (purchased in Germany) to HTC WM6.1. First I took 3.03.405.0 (Radio 1.64.06.04). After that I realized that my GPS was not detected as in case of the original ROM. I tested it with 3.02.405.0 (Radio 1.58.26.20) also with no difference.
After that I re-installed a dump of original German WM 6.0 1.56.4007.3 (radio 1.27.12.11 and bootloader 22.45.88.07H). Unfortunatelly my device hangs if the device switch itself off (after a miute for power saving reasons). The phone is still active, but I cant switch it on again (using the power button). Only a soft-reset helps in that case.
Do you clues on these problems?
I would be interested in updating to WM6.1, but only if the GPS works OK.
Thanks,
Gabor

I'd say that you stick to WM6 ROM till some very stable WM6.1 versions are available.
Cheers!

do you have a clue regarding the blocking power-off function of the original German WM6?
Thanks,
Gabor

Maybe 1.12 is better

Just got my MDA Compact back from HTC and they put back the Rom from last May.
Funny thing is, I haven't been able to find any advantages to justify me upgrading to 1.13. For a start, rebooting the thing is quicker on 1.12.
Can anyone advise if I am missing something important by not upgrading to 1.13?
Thanks.
Maybe it feels quicker because it is a fresh installation. I doubt there are any speed differences during boot time because the changes since 1.06 are very minor and mostly ExtROM related.
Much quicker boot
I think as part of the "No Bluetooth device found" fix, they added some time to booting. Not sure, can anyone confirm?
Could that be the reason my bluesoleil did NOT found the bluetooth device on the VPA Compact 1.12 rom, and it did find it when i had installed the 1.13 t-mobile rom.
Problem is, all that t-mobile **** is not really helping me out. THe Vodafone PUSH-EMAIL service is not auto connecting etc.
Could I get that bluetooth fixed even when having installed 1.12 in some way?
Rom 1.13 comes with newer battery dll, camera & album. & indeed a BT-fix. Using it for 5 months now & still satisfied with this rom.
@Riel, you can skip all TMO related ext-rom stuff by hard-resetting your device & just before customization (the little pop-up after the message 'now tap the screen
to start using your device') starts you soft-reset again.
Then load the required Orange cabs from your previous rom & you should be fine.
Regards, M
The Hang-up which I experience, could that be a 1.12 problem (when PAN with another s100 with Bluesoleil, it hangs when we start a MP game if pushmanager is installed).
Maybe 1.13 will fix it?

- Prophet goes on automatically with WM6 & WM5 !!!

Hello,
I have a G4 with the following
IPL 2.10.0001
SPL 2.20.0001
I had upgraded to WM6 (tested all versions available on this forum).
Upgrade always goes fine and mobile works OK except that the phone goes on (screen lights up) automatically from time to time and goes off after time out (depending on setting, 10sec, 30sec etc..)
This eats up the battery very quickly.
I have tested with AKU 3.2 and AKU 3.3 (Aserg) and I have the same strange behaviour.
I have also tested with and without the following:
1. SD card
2. Mail server configured
3. Push mail
4. Different version of RADIO rom.
Of course with several hard and soft reset but no luck.
Anybody having such issues or heard about this.
Thanks for your help or suggestions.
I am forced to go back to the following....
Current versions
GSM 2.47.21
ROM 2.20.7.34 WWE
Strange!!! I'm the only one having this problem.
I just tried to flash with the lastest ASERG ROM and the issue is the same
It doesn't happen if you lock the device. This is the only solution I have found which works. Apart from that, it is fantastic.
i had the same..
what i did is turn off the backlight dimmer
had the same with my wm5 sometimes too

Thanks rob_h a lot for the tips....
It works fine
I have extended your workaround by using vijay555 devicelock (http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJDeviceLock) and assign it to a button.
It is a fair workaround.
Thanks again

Faria 3.3 WM6 and phone disconnecting - reconnecting from GSM network. Solution

Hello, probably this is answered somewhere else but I decided to share my experience and came up with with a solution to get the excellent Faria 3.3 AKU (WM6) working with no problems with the GSM network.
This trick worked for my G3 (WIZ200) Wizard.
The problem with Faria 3.3 AKU with any of the following 2.26.11,2.47.11, 2.24.10 or 2.61.11 GSM Radio ROM versions is that kept the god damned phone reconnecting-disconnecting from the GSM network, each connection lapse of about 12-15 seconds then disconnected and again reconnected (about 7 times) before automatically self turning off the phone portion (not the PDA itself!).
So here are the steps I followed to resolve this mysterious issue:
-Install ActiveSync 4.5 I do not why it is so important but do it just in case.
-Start with a tmobile "official" version, 2.26.10.2:
http://www.t-mobileapps.com/downloadcenter/Software_List.cfm?selDevice=24
You will have: IPL/SPL 2.26, GSM Radio 2.26, or something very similar to this.
-Upgrade to Molski 3.3 AKU (still WM5 as displayed in the System -> About section of the device), it contains: ROM 3.3, GSM Radio 2.19.11 (beware the web page displays 1.19.11!) and no IPL/SPL. So be sure you already have those! (You will have it if you installed the tmobile official version).
Go to http://www.molski.biz/ then go to HTC Wizard link and then My Latest ROM or download directly:
http://rapidshare.com/files/20088931/Molski.Biz_AKU3.3_21911_8MB_Crossbow.exe
You will have a 2.19.11 Radio ROM version, very important, this is in first place why I decided to switch to this version before upgrading to Farias.
-Upgrade to Faria WM6 3.3 AKU
Go to: http://rapidshare.com/users/IW25NT and choose
HTC Wizard WM6 XDA-Dev (by Faria) clean version, build 28-03-07
or download directly:
http://rapidshare.com/files/23228656/fariacleancb.rar
Finally you should have: IPL/SPL 2.26, GSM Radio 2.19.11, OS 2.18.0.0.
You note this when turning on the unit.
If by any chance after the upgrade the PDA is frozen when asking you to "tap the screen", (eg, not responding to stylus), try a reset, I don’t know if is soft or hard: press the Voice Command + Camera + Comm Manager buttons AND then the reset button in the hole (insert the stylus or a clip) for about 10 seconds, then when it resets you should see the tapping calibration screen and proceed as normal. Pressing all the four buttons is a bit tricky!.
Note: probably you can go directly to Faria 3.3 from a tmobile official version by upgrading the GSM Radio portion to 2.19.11, but I haven’t tried.
-------
After two days of fooling around I came to the previous steps.
What did not work for me:
-Upgrade wizard G3 (WIZ200) to a tmobile release with IPL/SPL 2.26, Radio 2.26.
-Then directly upgraded to Farias WM6 3.3 AKU, which does not include Radio ROM, it should be present in the unit before installing Faria's AKU.
But it kept reconnecting-disconnecting from the gsm network (Mexico)!
-So I just upgraded to 2.47.11 Radio ROM and the same connect-disconnect problem! I was sad at the time...
-Then upgraded to 2.61 Radio ROM, and the same, I was really feeling down… but finally I saw the light...the sun!...because was an all-night issue, hehe
I want to thank to the community for their time and efforts put in the sharing of the knowledge for this great little monsters called wizards.

Upgrade from WM5 WM6 cause phone not ring after a long stand by (appox 3-5hrs)

Post this thread to General as if any of you have the same issue
Dpopd 818 Pro and upgrade to WM6, tried both WM6 Crossbow PDAViet ROM v3 and v4, both of them run into the issue where when the phone gets into stand by the phone does not ring when my friend call me.
I've update the Radio v2.61.21. and it doesn't help. Can anyone suggest the solution?
Update:
I downgrade it back to WM5, and the problem is resolved...
There must be some setting different to cause this issue.
Actually, the radio version that you updated to may be the problem. WM6 seems to have a lot of problems with a lot of the radio versions out there. The oly versions that I've found that don't that actually work reliably is 2.19.11 and 2.69.11.

GPRS dies until radio restart (v1240 - ericjm WM6 ROM - Vodafone UK)

Hi all,
I've got a Vodafone (UK) v1240 (HTC Tornado Noble variant) running ericjm WM6 For Tornado - HTC Edition ROM and GSM.02.61.01 / SPL.2.00.0014.
Every day or two, the 'G' symbol disappears from the bar at the top of the Home screen and doesn't return. GPRS is unavailable until I use the connection manager to turn the radio off and back on again.
This is *really* annoying as I use push email on a daily basis and often find ActiveSync in 'waiting for network' mode, even though I'm in an area with a good signal.
I've tried the registry hack of setting GRPS to 'Always on' and renaming the 'SuspendResume' registry value - but that doesn't seem to help this issue.
I've seen a few other grumbles on this forum and around the www about this issue - but no firm solutions. Can anyone shed any light on this - or suggest a fix?
the GPRS issue is fixed with the latest radio ROM update, did you run phil's WM6GSMUpdate? If not, get it from my tutorial in my signature
Thanks for the response karhoe.
I did apply WM6GSMUpdate while following an install guide similar to yours for ericjm's WM6 For Tornado - HTC Edition ROM.
I'll try re-applying it, but I believe it is already in effect as my radio version states: 4.1.13.28_02.61.01
Any other ideas?
Try this
I have the same problem when i use andot's ROM. I have also upgraded the radio to 4.1.13.28_02.61.01, but still not solved.
Finally, after i change my ROM to NiTroGenious' WM6 English 5.2.1616.18120 ROM, and upgraded my SPL to 2.00.0014, the problem has been solved. I am not sure whether is the ROM or SPL solve the problem.
If you want to upgrade your SPL, please find the link under NiTroGenious's signatures.
One thing I have seen even in my own phone (running VJs ROM v3.2) that depending on what's being refreshed on my home screen, the "E" symbol will disappear. In that case, it's not that my GPRS connection has dropped, it's just that the top bar isn't refreshing to display the symbol. If I force a home screen refresh, lo and behold it's back again. Could that be what's happening with you?
