WM6.1 + HTC Audio Manager + Mp3s off 4GB microSDHC = No go - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Windows Mobile ROM De

So...
I thought there was a problem with one rom that Audio manager wouldn't read mp3s off the microsd card (core player works perfectly) so I tried flashing, I've flashed a few of them and none of them work. AudioManager freezes, which really sucks, as I really enjoy the speed boost off WM6.1
Anyone else have any similar problems?

Am I the only one w this issue?

Some ppl mentioned this at other forums. But I have WM6.1 and tested HTC Audio Manager (For 2 days now) with MP3s off 6GB MicroSDHC (About 900 songs) and it works correctly. So dunno why you guys have problem.

Seems like we are having the same problem in the Elf Forum as well.
Even i cant seem to play songs anymore on AM, the player is jus greyed out. Cant select player or library even. And its jus 60 songs on a 2GB card. And AM freezes whenever i select a song manually. Check these out for my details

And let me know if we shud make a group request for a mod or someone who can provide a cab that can fix this issue...or least check out whats causing it.
Let me know if you are interested in making this issue more clear to the forumers

Xmoo: Potentially Dutty's rom is the one that works? =/ I can't really say.

i agree

my friend's kaiser has Dutty's rom too. and AM working. but my ELF has the shipped ROM still as its 3 months old and AM has gone all craxy. I hard reseted. Must be something to do with reg values from the initial start....

Now you can see how good dutty is

Hmm I wonder if it's just too many songs then?? or maybe my SD card is too full?? AudioManager is the only one that's having problems though.

I am using AudioManager on a daily basis with my WM6.1 ROM (4GB of MP3's on 6GB SDCard) and I have no issues whatsoever!

I'm currently running Sleuth's 6.1 (until I cook my own), have an 8GB Sandisk microSDHC card with over 2100 mp3s, and AM works fine here. Before this, I was running the stock HK HTC WM6 and worked fine there as well.

Hmm well only Audio Manager doesn't seem to work, when I get home, format the memory card, reload everything and see what happens.
I wouldn't doubt that there could be a problem with the memory card (i've been moving files back and forth a lot for the past few days) I wonder why only Audio Manager doesn't seem to work with the WM6.1 hmm...I will go and investigate more.

So I formatted the memcard...when I put a few mp3s it worked, then I added the rest and it stopped working...hmm
Going to investigate some more...

Okay so no idea...but after reinstalling Sleuth's 6.1 rom again...it works? ;

Help Needed- Which is the latest Radio version for Vox (in India)..more questions

Hi everyone..
I use Vox with Airtel prepaid in India..
My phone is one year old now.. still under warranty..
I am facing a serious problem with calls as many incoming calls are not being notified on the phone.. though the caller says that he hears the call ringing..
This way i'm losing many calls..
There is a Thread in the forum about this problem but nobody came up with a good solution..
They said in that Thread that only thing that might work may be radio version change..
Now my questions-
1. Does anyone have a better solution to the call drop problem?
2. I am using the original ROM that came with the phone.. so can i change radio without affecting the original ROM.. will i lose my warranty?
3. Where can i get the latest radio?
4. Whats the procedure to change it?
THANKS EVERYONE.. AWAITING REPLY
lots of the radio roms can be found on xda ftp
you wont loose any data (but be sure your phone is fully charged!)
i dont know about warranty^^
its same prcedure like flashing a normal rom!
maybe uspl (first threat) is nessecary this coudl cause loose of waranty!
So you are the guy who has shown us the way for surfing via Airtel NOP. Thanks for that. And using UCWEB 6.3 java browser may allow you to remove NOP download limitation.
Now about your query. I think there is nothing regarding radio ver for India. I think the latest ver is 4.1.13.60 which I am using at present. By default my VOX came with previous ver 4.1.13.54. I have also tried the 4.1.13.47. All three are good and I could not notice any significant difference amongst them. All are available for download _ see wiki.
Reagarding flashing - the process is same as flashing OS ROMS and it shouldnot affect your installed apps - but then keeping a backup is always good. It will need unlocking your phone and also doing USPL which will void the warranty. But I dont think thats a problem. If anything goes wromg reflashing with shipped ROM should solve the problem before taking it to service centre.
One more thing when there is a question of warranty why not flash with original shipped ROM - I think it will not require unlocking and doing USPL. In the process your phone may also get rectified.
Try this solution!

hi there. i had a similar problem. what software and third party programs r u running? sometimes when the base memory dips below say 8 mb, this can happen bcos a program called connmgr.exe gets disabled. so what happens is, the call is completed, but u cant either pick up the phone while ringing,. at best it shows up as a missed call notification. i dont think this is an issue with ur radio at all. my advice is, shut down most running programs. use a hibernate function that is available on software such as smart toolkit ( or sk tools lite ). this should solve ur problem. if not, pm me with a list of whatever 3rd party software u have.
Have you tried hard reset? A lot of times, some or the other intalled application causes problems, a hard reset cleans up such mess, but cleans up all your data and app from the phone memory as well .
what is ur radio version by the way? mines a pretty old one, and works perfectly ok. as addicted2xda says, try a hard reset if u have no other choice. im convincedthat it is an issue f free memory only. happened to me lots of times...have changed my rom now to fireburned's lite rom. seems to be pretty good so far!
Bro...
If you are on Airtel Pre Paid...this will continue to haunt you........ try as many ROM's and Radio Versions....... NO USE
I faced the same problem with Airtel Pre Paid in New Delhi..... I have tried all the Radio Versions available on the Net and as many as I could lay my hands on from elsewhere
Ultimate Solution.........
DUMPED the VOX till the time I am on Airtel Pre Paid and bought a Samsung......
Neither Airtel nor HTC Service Center has any solution to the problem..... Though HTC Service Center guys are dumbest ass**** you will ever find....
This problem was raised by me ages back in this forum and modaco.... was suggested some solutions but nothing works......
the choice was either continue to loose business or change the Handset..... I chose the latter....
best of luck
BTW if you find any solution....lemme know too
hey i was on airtel prepaid in madras, had no problems whatsoever. the great bsnl gave me hell earlier. but i had another handset then. dont be in a hurry to dump ur phone....just try it out. i dont know abt the signal quality in delhi though. on roaming it was pretty ok to me
else change over to postpaid. seems to make quite a difference. they do have a few good schemes. the postpaid scheme is supposed to come with a 64 k sim card which is faster and seems to have better signal reception. maybe that'll solve ur problem.
Hi...
I was never in hurry to dump the phone as I have been a HTC user thru'out....starting with SPV aka Canary...and so on....
I even changed the SIM to 64K ...
Tried every conceivable solution...... scanned the Phone for virus/ worms, tried all ROM furnished by the Learned here in the Forum.... Tried the Shipped WWE ROM with the original Radio version.....Tried all Radio versions including the Arabic Radio, Shipped Radio versions....
but the result was the same...
as for the signal quality..... am at same office and same factory as I was when I was using Canary, or other HTC phones and now Samsung.... so wudnt blame signal strength or location for the issue...
again.... if you find a solution lemme know too as the VOX is being used as her play mobile by my 7 yr old daughter at the moment.
thanxxx
BTW... try the Bluetooth Registry patch from HTC site and see if it helps your cause...because HTC claims that if you are using Bluetooth there are chances of Call drop. This is a suggestion from my side as I use Bluetooth Hands Free all the time and tried the Patch on my VOX but still the problem remained .... see if it helps ya out.

HMMM.....man, i pity ur fate! but did u try shutting down all running programs? again, what third party stuff did u have running? as i said earlier, a program called connmgr.exe shuts down or malfunctions at memory levels <8mb. send me a list of what third party stuff u had. maybe theres something in that!
mines very old radio and rom. never had this problem, and in madras the signal per se anywhere is lousy. so maybe it isnt an issue with the firmware at all. what rom were u using last? and wht radio version?
Last ROM on my Phone:
Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard (Build 20282.1.3.6) by frauhottelmann
Last Radio Version Tried:
4.1.13.47_02.98.90
RIL Version
2.002
The Signal strength shown on the phone has NO Issues whatsoever....
No other software running on the device other than the ones started by the frau's ROM.... was aware of the fact that some third party softwares could create issues so never bothered loading them unless got the phone working in stable mode for a week or so......

Problem with HTC Hero Roms only on MT3G

I am only having problems when i install any Hero Rom. After I install the Rom on my newly rooted MT3G and I put the phone to sleep using the red hang up button my screen gets jumbled. Every other rom this does not happen with, only Hero roms. Every time I try to take a pic of my screens the picture comes out normal but the screen that I am actually seeing is blurry from the text to images. I am sorry if I am not clear, I will try to take pictures a different so you can see
Yes. The pixellation that you're talking about happens to all myTouches as far as I can tell. Does anyone have any insights?
have you tried the Fatal1ty or Evil's rom?
it's the two I've had success with.
Haven't had that issue so far, I've used JACxHero and Drizzy's No Name Hero.
Trying Fatal1ty....
Trying Fatal1ty's now.. but JesusFrek's had the same issue as the ION ROM, pixilation distoration after unlocking the phone...
Such a shame, it was really responsive also

I have tried everyone but the fatality rom. I am trying it now, hopefully this one will be the lucky one
Fatal1ty (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) works soo far
Here is what I have tested (this usually produces pixelation:
1) Locking the phone through the call end/power off button, then waking it up via the "menu" button
2) Plugging in the charger while the phone is "asleep"
3) Rebooting the phone.
So far, so good with Fatal1ty... so now the question of the hour is.. why is this happening on some ROM's but not all (i dont know Java.. at all.)

Actually, the question is why is it affecting only certain people? Like I said, I've got a MT3G and have not seen this issue with 2 roms that have had it for other people. If there's anything specific I can provide, do tell.
i think i read somewhere this is due to compcache or swapping not working properly. try to reformat your sd card with the 3 partitions

I did that with a fresh 8 gig class 6 using Ra's recovery. And another I did with parted through my G1 and the problen still persists. So not quite sure that's where the problem lies.
I tried both cc and swap versions of qtek's to no avail. And those were both on newly reformated cards
[Edit] - sidenote: when android first came out we ran a ported rom on a Touch perfectly. When we tried ports for the Touch Diamond, this pixelation occured. I must revisit that to maybe shed some light. I know there are hardware/software differences. But worth a try. Lol
QTEK
Qtek's works great for me. VERY responsive, and no pixilation at all. had it for 3 days now on my Tmo mt3g

this doesnt help the issue. i also get the pixeljumble problem with my MyTouch usually when it goes to sleep and i then press the menu button.
another issue is when i make calls i somehow get disconnected a minute into the call and sometimes the phone even restarts while im in the middle of the call. any reason why this would happen
My MT3G is doing the same thing. Only problem is I completely erased system, boot, data, system img's and I STILL get pixelation. I am experiencing this even on non Hero ROM's including cyanogen's and everything else. Anyone experiencing the same thing?
he only rom that is working without pixelation for me is Fatal1tys Hero. Is there a solution to why this is happening, or we have to live with this?
eViL Hero Rom works for me also. Much quicker than Fatal1ty's rom in my opinion. No luck with any others though. I'd love to get no name hero working because when it's not pixelly it's fast as hell!

Audio problems icbnb/ audiophile redux

hey guys just checking if anyone else has had this problem. Received phone about a month ago and quickly flashed the final icbnb and have since flashed audiophile since my first flash I've been getting a skip whenever I play mp3s on my phone. Have reflashed and redid mp3s. Wiped and fix permission but no help. Have tried all players and voodoo settings. Please help!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
Well am no savvy here but every time I have weird problems like that I Odin Whitehawks KD1 then EXT4 converter and then flash ROMs. Lately I am only flashing Audiophiles but I think that could work for ROMs that are EXT4/Voodoo friendly. Hope all goes well.
*Not responsible for any bricks. Just trying yo help. Maybe some more experienced user will tell you the fix. But that is what I would do. If you Odin make sure you disable Voodoo or you will brick phone.

what are you using to play the mp3s? try double twist. if that doesnt work and you've odined, it may be a hardware problem
i have been experiencing this same problem. im on the icbinb gb 2.3.4 its like every tenth song will skip for half a second. i just use the stock mp3 player so that could be it but i know its not the songs themselves bc i would replay the same part to see if it would skip again.
Yea tried doubletwist ,modded player in audiophile, mixzing all have same problem. It'll play a whole song no skip then maybe skip twice next song. Haven't Odin but I will try as a last resort before declaring hardware issue. Will try and post results thx. I'm glad I'm not the only one lol

I used to experience this issue before lagfix but ever since we got that its been a thing of the past. Ext4 should fix you right up

Tried other players no luck about to odin my phone to stock. Using [Odin][ROM] Whitehawkx's KC1 with CWM recovery is this an acceptable rom to flash to stock? Disabling voodoo before i do also. Would have tried last nite but had thunderstorms in area and my lights kept going out lol
Grr

It was totally the sd card. I believe as soon as i odined back after reformatting it it just stopped working and was not recognizable. Snuck my wifes sd and it worked right away. And i gotta say WOW that bad sd card was causing a lot of issues that i never expected with it being about 2 months since getting it.Had noticed it was taking a bit longer to load on my pc when i added files over 30 secs. Audiophile looks amazing now the lock screen was still puzzle pieces before and never had those cool check boxes either great work and thx everyone for their advice!

SD card unmounting on its own

Anybody having issues with their SD card unmounting repeatedly?
I would be listening to music or using another app, then I get a notification saying the SD card unmounted unexpectedly. To fix this, I would have to reboot. Sometimes rebooting once doesnt actually solve the issue.
I do have to say that when I boot into recovery (CWM) the card is present and readable (I am able to reflash ROMs from it).
I found similar threads for other devices, but there seems to be no solution offered.
When this problem occured, I was runnning ARHD 3.6.2 (not sure if that has anything to do with it).
Any solutions to this?
Thanks!
Can u tell us which firmware version your on, stock? android revolution XE?

Mine just did this to me tonight. Now when you insert it I see the "Preparing SD Card" then about 2 seconds later "Removed SD Card". I had been using a SanDisk 8 GB class 2 thats been through 2 BlackBerry phones before this one, so I popped the Kingston 8 GB class 4 the phone came with in there and voila, it sees the card. Im thinking my card may have randomly gone belly up on me, but I will know more after I get a reader for my PC.
Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with SD cards randomly doing this with this phone. It seems I've read a lot about SD card problems with these phones while searching, I don't want to have to worry about losing all my data as much as I am now. The card was rock solid for about 3 years in the other phones, and I've had my Sensation less than a month.
~T.J.
This normally happens to me right before I start an app that would read or write into the data in the card: when I start playing MP3s, start games or apps installed in the card, accept a bluetooth file transfer, send a file from the card thru bluetooth, etc
I happens at least once a day. Generally, a simple reboot works to get the card back, but if it doesnt, I would have to open the cover and manually take out then reinsert the card.
I'm pretty sure it's not a hardware issue, though this is the first card I've used on my Sensation (bought brand new for use specifically with the phone).
Does branding of the card have anything to do with it? I admit that I got a brand that was slightly on the cheaper side, but had a lifetime warranty. If it matters, the card is made in Taiwan.
I haven't changed cards, as I'm still hoping this might just be a software bug. The reason I say this is because the very first time this happened, I had installed Always Flash, which I found to be an app that I could do without. I forced stopped the app and uninstalled it, and that's when the bug hit for the first time.
Hope someone knows the answer to this...
Thanks!
That's what happened to me, I opened titanium to do a backup and got a card removed unexpectedly error. The phone has never recognized the card since.

I've been having the same problem with my sensation xe. Sometimes it'll be fine for a week or more, and then it may unmount the card randomly 2 or 3 days in a row. Normally I have to shutdown, pull the battery and physically remove and re-insert the card to get it to remount, as just rebooting has never worked for me.
Tonite, even this wouldn't work. I ended up having to boot into 4ext and mount the card in there before rebooting the phone.
I really do hope someone can work out the reason our phones are doing this.
For the record, I'm using ARHD 6.7.0 and a 32g class 10 Strontium card.
anybody found a solution for this?... I also have the same problem. Tried several sd card and stock/no stock roms. Same thing every time.
I think it is a hardware prob.
I had this happen to me before but found a solution for mine. I checked my SD card and it was not locked in it's caseing so it was unmounting randomly. I removed the SD card and replaced making certain it was locked into the caseing and it's never happened again. It's definitely worth a try to check your card and make absolutely sure it's locked into the caseing. Would not hurt to check. For me, this solved my problem. My card was in the caseing but not locked in, this was causing my issue. I wish you the best. I do hope you get this fixed. Hopefully it's only that the card is loose ! Like I said it's worth a try. Best wishes.
I'd try fully formatting the card using gparted. I always do this if I have any suspicion that something may be wrong with a card and its never let me down yet.
Google it, its free and there are videos on YouTube showing how to use it so all it'll cost you is a bit of time, gotta be worth a go......

[?] Radom Choppiness and Reboots

Ive looked through the threads but none related to my issue.. Ive been in the rooting game for 5 years or so, i know what im doing and whats going on -- This particular issue bugs the crap outta me -- been trying to resolve this issue for a little over a month now.. No solution so far.
-- No matter what Rom i use ICS or JB.. No matter what Kernel i use.. I get random reboots (MAINLY while listening to music).. Actually, come to think of it -- thats the only time i get reboots =/ --
While listening to music, it'll be fine for awhile -- then i think (when the cpu goes into a lower state) the music starts to chop a bit... Then when i try to wake the phone, it takes a pretty long time for the unlock screen to show -- when it finally does, and when i try to unlock it, the screen doesnt register to my touch -- it delays. When i finally get the phone unlocked (music still playing) there is soo much lag and choppiness with the phone..
at this point, i would stop playing the music but the phone would still lag until i reboot the phone. Then everything is normal... (Until i play music again)
Another issue (but on the same topic) -- When i play music for awhile, the phone will just reboot out of no where. (This is the most common issue for me).
Ive tried a lot of different cpu settings-- highs and lows, different I/O's, and different governors.. No avail. .. ive even tried different music apps -- same thing happens
Ive changed out my SD card like 3 times and i do the whole wipe thing when coming from different roms..
* But this is the kicker * -- It only started doing this like a little over a month ago and ive been testing/trying different solutions ever since --- My phone has never done this before -- and i havent changed my *routine* of flashing either -- so idk what it could be.
Any solutions guys..?? I have the lastest firmware and everything -- just throwing that out there as well.
EDIT -- Im leaning towards an early stage of a bad battery perhaps..? I have the stock one.
I know you said you took sd card out, but have you wiped and formatted your sd card on a computer and put back in? My phone has acted up every so often and formatting my sd card has helped.
