Hello,
I have a XDA NEO with a old rom.
If i have a look at the Properties i can see the following things:
ROM-Version: 2.15.4.29GER
Rom-Datum(Date):3/9/06
Protokoll-Version:4.1.13.09
ExtROM-Version:2.15.4.115
I´ve found a update on the O2 Germany site in the following link:
http://www.o2-online.de/nw/support/downloads/software/xda/xdaneo/index.html
Do you know which improvements are coming with the new update.
I want to update my neo because i have problems with my Battery Status and that sometimes my neo doesn´t wake up from standby-mode.
I´ve also seen roms HTC and others.
Is it better to install a O2 Rom or dopod etc...
And when yes which Rom should i install?
Can i also reinstall things like the Homezone applikation.
Thanks for answering my question and im sorry for my bad english
Old Rom?
You´ve got the newest Rom of O2 Germany.
.....
the newest is 2.15.4.47 i think....
i have new neo and this rom version in
Hello,
what about the update from the o2 page should i install it or is ther any newer o2 english update or an update from htc?
Which is the best and fastest rom and if i use a htc rom can i also install the homezone application.
And another question does i have do do something special if i want to install a rom from another maufactur and do i lose my garanty ( can i reinstall the old rom if i have problems?).
Thanks for your answers.
T-Killa
The latest O2-Update is 2.15.4.29GER. If you change the Rom you lose the Garanty. And reinstalling the O2-Rom ist depending on the Problems you should have. If it´s a Software Prob you can Reinstall, Hardware Prob it could be impossible. With a different Rom you can still install the HZ Control but you must take some changes to have GPRS I-Net and the possibility to send and recieve MMS.
Hm I thought that there would be a newer rom because my rom is from March and this should be the newest one ?
Why are ther lots of newer roms from HTC or other marks?
I found pictures about the Camera Menu of newer HTC Phones.
They looked more like a Digi-Cam.
Am i able to install this program to and if yes where can i download it.
Thanks for answers

So i registered my TyTn II SN on the HTC e-club expecting to see ROMs for download. It properly shows my device as registered, but there are no ROMS available for download. I contacted their e-mail support and was told that "no ROMs have been relased for the TyTN II."
How can this be? From everything I am looking at here there should be at least one 6.0 ROM and one 6.1 ROM that was released by HTC??? If not, where are all these ROMs coming from?
Did I get bad info from HTC? Did they remove all their ROMS for some reason? Please help me understand.
thx.
dear friend
i understand your confused i also got it in the begining but i understode later
all those rooms are built in something you can call it beta version of windows 6.1
this is what i know about that and maybe someone else knows better and correct me if iam wrong
best regards
They are not OFFICIAL, as many people might think. They are built by cooks around here (and other places).
Keep in mind that there are also ROMS from other countries that come available then are shared.
You may have registered to HTC e-club, however, it may not show as per your location.
As I understand, the newest rom always come with the newest device come to market, htc don't update "old" devices, even there is new version rom released from microsoft. For example, kaiser was released last year, and the newest rom in the meantime was 6.0, so the kaiser came with 6.0. Even you buy your kaiser now, and the 6.1 was released by microsoft few months ago, you won't get 6.1 in your brand new kaiser.
All these new "offical" roms are released or leaked by microsoft, for newer devices, and our cookers here cook them for our kaiser and we can have chance to try new functions in these new roms.
Thanks for the reponses.
So, If i understand correctly, no one is able to Download the "official" ROM for their device from HTC directly?
I believe I can download the AT&T Tilt ROM from AT&T, but for HTC ROM every copy that exists here is from a "dump" of someone elses or a cooked version?
To start with my device i would rather use a fresh ROM and not a cooked version. How can I easily find what is the latest "Clean" dump ROM out there?
thanks!
Actually, no one is able to go to HTC's website and download an official 6.1 ROM for their Kaiser/Tilt II as they have "officially" not released it yet.
Microsoft has only just "officially" announced WM6.1 in the last week.
I dont' necessarily mean the latest as in 6.1.... I mean are there ANY officially released HTC Roms that I can use to flash my tilt and if so...where and how can I get an "official" one. Again, by official I mean not a dump or a cook.

well, if youre saying "official" as in, HTC says, "hey everyone with an htc device thats running a rom not belonging to htc, here's an official release of our rom for your device" then no.
but, however, there are roms in these threads that were extracted from say the htc kaiser that is an offical htc rom, no att, just htc
if you want an "official" htc rom then you'll have to buy an unlocked device, instead of one from a particular carrier.

WHAT I WONDER is the wm6.1 suppose to have silverlight mobile and skype mobile and ie better featured but non of the leaked roms ever showed any of these features?
Well for instance, when I had my PPC6700 and there were issue with it, Sprint actually had me reload their ROM to try and troubleshoot.
If you buy an "unlocked" HTC with no carrier, then whose ROM does HTC expect you to use...the HTC rom that comes with the device, or another special ROM made available to the carrier? I suppose that if you buy an unlocked Kaiser (for $5-700) that there is nothing in the warranty saying you can't reflash it... therefore shouldn't HTC provide a copy of the ROM incase you need to flash it back to defaults?
thx

I bought a TyTn II, as well as a Wizdr before, both unlocked, and always got a CD-ROM with apps AND a restoration utility which is actualy the original ROM.
If I take a look now on the HTC e-club, my registered TyTN II has a download available, but it's from 09/2007 (and french..). So I don't even consider flashing my device with this as it would be the same as the one delivered with my phone I think.

Right Dredd..that's what I am talking about.... I would think that someone who bought an unlocked one would have a CD with the "official" ROM and that HTC would also post that on e-club for registered members (in case you lost your CD)... But they don't appear to post one for download there...
Sorry all but....
I am simply trying to find out how to flash my HTC TYTN II from Windows Mobile 6.1 to 6.5. The only thing I have sucessfully managed to do so far was to re-flash the orginal ROM the phone shipped with from the HTC web site. Is it a problem with my phone or is the HTC ROM update program user friendly in some way (looks identical!?) that no others here would seem not to be? I have read no end of programs that seem to need to be used or installed on the PC and\or phone but no clear set of end to end instructions when using the images from here!? I have tried 4 or 5 different ones and all lose connectivity as soon as the program starts to try and flash my phone. Fortunately pulling the battery and powering back up restores normal functionality. This leads to my final question please. Do HTC write user friendly ROM update software for their devices that work without anything else needed where no else seems to or am I missing something? If nothing else assuming I need to this manually could someone please point me to where I can finda full set of instructions please?
What other than updates that simply seem no to work on my phone am I missing soemthing. I am even more seriously considering the Nokia N97 now as Symbian updates are simple to apply and work out the box! Not like these nightmares it would seem!
Many thanks in advance.
Regards,
Paul L

Good luck,
WM 6.5 has been announced but not officially released, so there is no HTC update. I don't know what you have been trying to download.
The only 6.5 roms available are cooked roms derived from leaked betas of WM 6.5 or roms derived from M$ development tools packages. So if you want an HTC/M$ 6.5 rom, you are out of luck, because it does not exist.
If you want to " unlock your phone and flash one of the many great custom 6.5 roms, then start here

I have AT&T Tilt, barely used, Cant get help to upgrade from manufacturer no longer support. Can you please tell me what upgrade is available and instructions on how to install. Thanks very much Lost.
Hi
I was just wondering if anyone has had problems or if there are any implications of using a device with a cooked rom to use the service. It's just I was thinking about using it and since it sends details about your device including iemi, device model and OS version. If I'm using a cooked WM6.1 rom on a device that came with WM5 could this be a problem?
Thanks
I don´t think it would be a problem, if not chefs wouldn´t include that app on cooked ROM´s

I'm also looking for a WM6 Official rom for my imate JAMin.
Not interested in the cooked roms as they are full of other junk which I don't need.
i'm using a wm6.1 rom cooked by wapvirus and works a treat, even with the latest spb mobile shell and android theme.
as far as i know, official roms give you less ram and storage space to play with and i really can't go without the finger-friendlyness of wapvirus's cooked roms.
you could try some of the ultra clean roms
EDIT: for all the new users searching for the roms and tutorials, go to the Rom Development sub-forum.
...read the sticky threads and also consider reading the Wiki Page, you will find everything you need to know and the lists of roms and the links to get them.
